Phenylphosphonic acid was imbedded into the matrix of the polyurethane foam during the fabrication process of the polymer. The extraction of uranium by phosphonic acid-imbedded polyurethane foam and blank polyurethane (i.e., foam without phosphonic acid functional groups) was investigated. Phosphonic acid-imbedded foam showed superior extractability of uranium from solutions with pH=7.0+/-1.5 over a wide range of temperature.  相似文献

The preconcentration of uranium from aqueous solutions on open-cell resilient polyurethane foams (PUF) impregnated with crown ether as an organic extractant in different conditions was investigated. The data showed that 50 minutes is a sufficient time to attain equilibrium with a maximum extraction percentage for uranium ion on polyurethane foams loaded with crown ether. Also the extraction percentage of uranium is increased markedly with increasing the pH values up to pH ~ 6 and displayed the lowest extraction at 8>pH>6. The different isotherms of uranium sorption have shown that the sorption followed a Freundlich isotherm. Column studies have been carried out in order to extend these studies to the plant scale. From the data of column sorption and breakthrough curves, the height equivalent of theoretical plates (HETP), and breakthrough capacity which affect the efficiency of the column have been calculated and found to be 1.03 mm/plate, 64±5 and 58.3 mg uranium/gram polyurethane foam impregnated with crown ether, respectively.  相似文献

The nitrile groups in polyacrylonitrile (Orlontrade mark) fabric were converted to amidoxime groups to produce an amidoximated orlon fabric. The amidoximated fabric was evaluated for its ability to extract uranium from aqueous solution with a wide range of temperature and pH values. The conversion of nitrile groups to amidoxime groups was simple and relatively inexpensive. In general, the modified orlon fabric showed superior extractability of uranium at all temperatures and pH values tested when compared to untreated Orlontrade mark fabric.  相似文献

Studies have shown that plots of the log of the distribution ratio versus pH for the distribution of uranium(VI) between non-plasticized and TBP-plasticized dibenzoylmethane-loaded polyurethane foams and dilute aqueous uranium(VI) solutions have a limiting slope of 0.6 at equilibrium pH values 4 and reach a maximum distribution constant at about pH 6.0. The results indicate that the extracted complex is a simple chelate, UO2Me2, where HMe denotes dibenzoylmethane. Plasticization of the foam with TBP has been found to significantly enhance the rate of extraction.  相似文献

The sorption of fifty-nine organic dyes, indicators and stains by polyester and polyether-type polyurethane foams was investigated by use of aqueous solutions and powdered foam material. Comparisons were made with sorption from 50% methanol solutions for some dyes and also with solvent extractions done with diethyl ether or ethyl acetate for several dyes. The R(f) values for the dyes run on cellulose TLC plates in water or a mixed solvent mobile phase were compared to the distribution coefficients with polyurethane foam. The relationship between the structure of the test substances and their sorption is discussed.  相似文献

The present work describes a novel method for the incorporation of Nile blue A into polyurethane foam matrix. This foam material was found to be very suitable for the extraction of metal ions from aqueous solutions. The characterization of Nile blue A grafted foam and the effect of halide concentration, pH, shaking time, extraction isotherm and capacity have been investigated. This foam material was found to be suitable for the separation and preconcentration of iron (III), zinc (II), cadmium (II) and mercury (II) from waste water. The extraction was accomplished in (15-20) minutes. Iron was separated from acid medium (2-4 M HCl), zinc from (3-5 M HCl), cadmium from (4-6 M HCl) as thiocyanate complexes and mercury was separated from (1-2 M HCl) as chloride.  相似文献

The extraction of cobalt (II) from aqueous thiocyanate solutions with polyurethane foam has been extensively investigated. The extraction is enhanced by high thiocyanate concentration, high ionic strength and low temperature. A pH of 1.0-9.0 can be used for efficient extraction. Cobalt can be extracted at low concentration and the distribution coefficient is independent of foam weight. Several foam types and foam pretreatments have been examined. The effect of various substances added to the cobalt thiocyanate solutions has been investigated. Some of these substances caused either enhanced or decreased extractions by interacting with the polyurethane foam or by changing the solution chemistry.  相似文献

The extraction of uranium(VI) from an aqueous HNO3 phase into an organic phase consisting of a polyurethane foam immobilizing a solution of di(2-ethylhexyl)phosphoric acid (HDEHP) in o-dichlorobenzene has been investigated at varying concentrations of nitric acid and HDEHP. The mechanism of the extraction is discussed on the basis of the results obtained. The aggregation number of HDEHP immobilized on the foam was obtained from the analysis of data obtained for the extraction of cerium(III) from acidic perchlorate solutions of constant ionic strength.  相似文献

Open cell polyurethane foam coated with long chain tertiary amines (Adogen) has been shown to be an effective extractant for uranium in acidic solutions (3>pH>1). With dodecyl alcohol present uranium extraction at pH<1 is effective. The coated foam allowed column flow extraction at high flow rates but capacity studies indicated that only a fraction (about 1/3 to 1/2) of the amine was available for the complexation of the uranium. Interference of some common metal cations indicated that only Co(II) showed a significant adverse effect on the uranium extraction.  相似文献

Summary Although pesticides and phenols, cause reproductive failure in many areas of the world, there is a no effective means of treating waste water containing these compounds. This work deals with the adsorption of insecticides and phenols from aqueous solution by untreated porous polyurethane foam and activated carbon. Static experiments showed that in comparison with activated carbon a reasonable percentage of the compounds was adsorbed by the foam. Attempts were therefore made to extract these species from aqueous solution by foam column chromatography.The results showed that the adsorption of the compounds was brought about by a mechanism similar to that of solvent extraction. The effect of various experimental conditions such as temperature, extracting medium, pH, contact time, volume of sample flow rate, compound concentration, and eluting solvents on the retention and separation of the compounds has been determined. The height equivalent to a theoretical plate (HETP) was calculated from breakthrough capacity curves and from chromatograms obtained from polyurethane foam columns for the insecticide Dyfonate; values were in the range 2.1–2.3 mm at 10–15 ml min–1. Extraction of the compounds from natural water, and subsequent recovery, were both found to be complete. The high capacity of polyurethane provides advantages over activated carbon; in particular, large sample volumes can be analyzed at high flow rates.  相似文献

Sorption of uranium(VI) has been inbestigated using an open-cell plyurethane foam impregnated with 5,8-diethyl-7-hydroxy-6-dodecanone oxime (LIX 63). Above pH 4.5 more than 99% of uranium is sorbed onto the LIX 63 impregnated foam, and uranium can be desorbed with a dilute acid from the foam. The sorption capacity for uranium increases linearly with increasing concentration of impregnated LIX 63. Quantitative removal of uranium from salt solutions was accomplished.  相似文献

The incorporation of rhodamine B into polyurethane foam matrix was prepared by mixing the rhodamine B with polyol (polyether) prior to the addition of diisocyanate reagent to form the polyurethane foam material. Rhodamine B grafted polyurethane foam (Rod.B-PUF) was found to be very suitable for the separation and preconcentration of trivalent metal ions e.g. bismuth (III), antimony (III) and iron (III) from thiocyanate solutions. Bismuth and antimony were separated from concentrated acid medium (1–6 M H2SO4). Iron (III) was separated from pH 1 to 3. The kinetics of sorption of the Bi (III), Sb (III) and Fe (III) onto the Rod.B-PUF was found to be fast, the extraction is accomplished from 5 to 10 min with average values of half-life of sorption (t1/2) of 2.9 min. The average values of the Gibbs free energy (ΔG) for the sorption of metal ions onto Rod.B-PUF are ?6.6 kJ mol?1, which reflect the spontaneous nature of sorption process. The sorption mechanism of the metal ion onto Rod.B-PUF was also discussed.  相似文献

In this study, the removal of uranium from aqueous solutions by diatomite earth (Kieselguhr) fine particules has been investigated. Diatomite earth is an important adsorbent material in chromatographic studies. Uranium adsorption capacity of four different types of diatomite was determined. The adsorption of uranium on the chosen diatomite sample was examined as a function of uranium concentration, solution pH, contact time and temperature. The adsorption of uranium on diatomite followed a Langmuir-type isotherm.  相似文献

In this paper, the modified magnetic chitosan resin containing diethylenetriamine functional groups (DETA-MCS) was used for the adsorption of uranium ions from aqueous solutions. The influence of experimental conditions such as contact time, pH value and initial uranium(VI) concentration was studied. The Langmuir, Freundlich, Sips and Dubinin–Radushkevich equations were used to check the fitting of adsorption data to the equilibrium isotherm. The best fit for U(VI) was obtained with the Sips model. Adsorption kinetics data were tested using pseudo-first-order and pseudo-second-order models. Kinetic studies showed that the adsorption followed the pseudo-second-order kinetic model, indicating that the chemical adsorption was the rate-limiting step. The present results suggest that DETA-MCS is an adsorbent for the efficient removal of uranium(VI) from aqueous solution.  相似文献

The concentration of dissolved insecticides in aqueous media was determined by chromatographic separation on polyurethane foam columns. The results of preliminary screening tests on the removal of insecticides by the unloaded polyurethane foam indicated that a reasonable percentage of the insecticides was retained on the foam. Therefore attempts were made to extract these compounds from aqueous media using foam columns. Various parameters affecting the retention and separation of these compounds were studied, including temperature, flow-rate, pH, insecticide concentration, shaking time, sample volume and eluting solvent. The complete separation and quantitative recovery of these compounds from the foam with acetone in a Soxhlet extractor were achieved. The method can be used to preconcentrate insecticides in tap water and modified to determine dissolved insecticides in industrial and natural waters. Polyurethane foam has a good capacity for use when large volume samples need to be handled and is an inexpensive sorbent compared to other known solid sorbents.  相似文献

A study on extraction of thorium with 1-phenyl-3-methyl-4-benzoyl-pyrazolone-5 (PMBP)-loaded polyurethane foam is described. Open-cell polyurethane foam has proved to be effective as supporting material for PMBP. Thorium nitrate can be quantitatively extracted by PMBP-loaded polyurethane foam over a wide pH range. The effect of equilibrium time, pH, thorium concentration, various anions and flow-rate on the extraction efficiency of thorium is examined. A technique of extraction chromatography column with PMBP foam cylinder has been developed for trace thorium analysis of bulky water samples.  相似文献

A method is presented for the spectrophotometric determination of uranium in natural waters after a preconcentration step involving percolation of a suitable aliquot of the water sample whose pH is adjusted to 6.0–6.5 through a TBP-plasticized dibenzoylmethane-loaded polyurethane foam bed. Uranium on the foam is eluted with 0.6M HCl solution and then determined spectrophotometrically using arsenazo III as a chromogenic reagent.  相似文献

研究了从麻风树种子中提取毒蛋白的过程。在冰水浴中用缓冲溶液在不同的pH值范围内对麻风树种子毒蛋白进行粗提,得到最高的提取率为98.2%。以改性聚丙烯酰胺与甲苯二异氰酸酯等进行混合发泡合成功能泡沫塑料。然后用合成的功能泡塑作为填料,用柱层析法对蛋白质进行分离,具有较好的分离效果。对分离得到的麻风树毒蛋白毒性进行检测,实验证明其有良好的杀虫杀菌效果。  相似文献

The sorption of food dyes Sunset Yellow (E-110), Tartrazine (E 102), Ponceau 4R (E-124), Fast Green FCF (E-143) on polyether-based polyurethane foam, and α-Al2O3 from water solutions has been studied. It has been found that the maximum sorption is observed in the range of 0.2 M HCl-pH 2 on polyurethane foam and at pH 2–4 on aluminum oxide. Under the optimal conditions the recoveries on polyurethane foam and α-Al2O3 are 20–30% and 70–80%, respectively. It has been shown by diffuse reflectance spectroscopy that, for all dyes except for Fast Green FCF, only one form of the dye that dominates under these conditions in the aqueous solution is extracted on the sorbents in the range of 0.5 M HCl, pH 8.0. Possible models of the interaction between the dyes and the sorbent surface are proposed.  相似文献
