We consider a nonlinear reaction-diffusion equation on the whole space Rd. We prove the well-posedness of the corresponding Cauchy problem in a general functional setting, namely, when the initial datum is uniformly locally bounded in L2 only. Then we adapt the short trajectory method to establish the existence of the global attractor and, if d?3, we find an upper bound of its Kolmogorov's ε-entropy.  相似文献

We study a special class of Finsler metrics, namely,Matsumoto metrics F=α2α-β,whereαis a Riemannian metric andβis a 1-form on a manifold M.We prove that F is a(weak)Einstein metric if and only ifαis Ricci flat andβis a parallel 1-form with respect toα.In this case,F is Ricci flat and Berwaldian. As an application,we determine the local structure and prove the 3-dimensional rigidity theorem for a(weak)Einstein Matsumoto metric.  相似文献

On a compact complex manifold of Kähler type, the energy E(Ω) of a Kähler class Ω is given by the squared L 2-norm of the projection onto the space of holomorphic potentials of the scalar curvature of any Kähler metric representing the said class, and any one such metric whose scalar curvature has squared L 2-norm equal to E(Ω) must be an extremal representative of Ω. A strongly extremal metric is an extremal metric representing a critical point of E(Ω) when restricted to the set of Kähler classes of fixed positive top cup product. We study the existence of strongly extremal metrics and critical points of E(Ω) on certain admissible manifolds, producing a number of nontrivial examples of manifolds that carry this type of metrics, and where in many of the cases, the class that they represent is one other than the first Chern class, and some examples of manifolds where these special metrics and classes do not exist. We also provide a detailed analysis of the gradient flow of E(Ω) on admissible ruled surfaces, show that this dynamical system can be extended to one beyond the Kähler cone, and analyze the convergence of solution paths at infinity in terms of conditions on the initial data, in particular proving that for any initial data in the Kähler cone, the corresponding path is defined for all t, and converges to a unique critical class of E(Ω) as time approaches infinity.  相似文献

In 2007, S. V. Tikhonov introduced a complete metric on the space of mixing transformations. This metric generates a topology called the leash topology. Tikhonov posed the following problem: what conditions should be satisfied by a mixing transformation T for its conjugacy class to be dense in the space of mixing transformations equipped with the leash topology. We show the conjugacy class to be dense for every mixing transformation T. As a corollary, we find that a generic mixing transformation is rank 1.  相似文献

It is well known that on a bounded spectral interval the Dirac spectrum can be described locally by a non-decreasing sequence of continuous functions of the Riemannian metric. In the present article, we extend this result to a global version. We view the spectrum of a Dirac operator as a function $\mathbb Z \,\rightarrow \mathbb R \,$ and endow the space of all spectra with an $\mathrm{arsinh }$ -uniform metric. We prove that the spectrum of the Dirac operator depends continuously on the Riemannian metric. As a corollary, we obtain the existence of a non-decreasing family of functions on the space of all Riemannian metrics, which represents the entire Dirac spectrum at any metric. We also show that, due to spectral flow, these functions do not descend to the space of Riemannian metrics modulo spin diffeomorphisms in general.  相似文献

We prove that the space of all oriented lines of the n-dimensional Euclidean space admits a pseudo-Riemannian metric which is invariant by the induced transitive action of a connected closed subgroup of the group of Euclidean motions, exactly when n=3 or n=7 (as usual, we consider Riemannian metrics as a particular case of pseudo-Riemannian ones). Up to equivalence, there are two such metrics for each dimension, and they are of split type and complete. Besides, we prove that the given metrics are Kähler or nearly Kähler if n=3 or n=7, respectively.  相似文献

In this survey paper, we give an overview of our recent works on the study of the W-entropy for the heat equation associated with the Witten Laplacian on super-Ricci flows and the Langevin deformation on the Wasserstein space over Riemannian manifolds. Inspired by Perelman’s seminal work on the entropy formula for the Ricci flow, we prove the W-entropy formula for the heat equation associated with the Witten Laplacian on n-dimensional complete Riemannian manifolds with the CD(K,m)-condition, and the W-entropy formula for the heat equation associated with the time-dependent Witten Laplacian on n-dimensional compact manifolds equipped with a (K,m)-super Ricci flow, where K ∈ R and m ∈ [n,∞]. Furthermore, we prove an analogue of the W-entropy formula for the geodesic flow on the Wasserstein space over Riemannian manifolds. Our result improves an important result due to Lott and Villani (2009) on the displacement convexity of the Boltzmann-Shannon entropy on Riemannian manifolds with non-negative Ricci curvature. To better understand the similarity between above two W-entropy formulas, we introduce the Langevin deformation of geometric flows on the tangent bundle over the Wasserstein space and prove an extension of the W-entropy formula for the Langevin deformation. We also make a discussion on the W-entropy for the Ricci flow from the point of view of statistical mechanics and probability theory. Finally, to make this survey more helpful for the further development of the study of the W-entropy, we give a list of problems and comments on possible progresses for future study on the topic discussed in this survey.  相似文献

Under the assumption that' is a strongly convex weakly Khler Finsler metric on a complex manifold M, we prove that F is a weakly complex Berwald metric if and only if F is a real Landsberg metric. This result together with Zhong(2011) implies that among the strongly convex weakly Kahler Finsler metrics there does not exist unicorn metric in the sense of Bao(2007). We also give an explicit example of strongly convex Kahler Finsler metric which is simultaneously a complex Berwald metric, a complex Landsberg metric,a real Berwald metric, and a real Landsberg metric.  相似文献

Let \(\left( E,C,t\right) \) be a real ordered topological vector space and let (Xd) be a tvs-cone metric space over cone C. Using Proposition 19.9 of Deimling (Nonlinear functional analysis, Springer, Berlin, 1985), we show that E can be equipped with a norm such that C is a normal monotone solid cone. Hence, a tvs-cone metric space \(\left( X,d\right) \) over a solid cone C is a normal cone metric space over the same cone C. This assures that tvs-cone metric spaces are not a genuine generalization of cone metric spaces introduced by Huang and Zhang, recently. Further, if the cone C is solid then we have only cone metric spaces over normal solid cone (with coefficient of normality \(K=1\)). Here, we introduce also the notion of Sehgal–Guseman–Perov type mappings and we establish a result of existence and uniqueness of fixed points for this class of mappings.  相似文献

Using purely variational methods, we prove in metric measure spaces local higher integrability for minimal p-weak upper gradients of parabolic quasiminimizers related to the heat equation. We assume the measure to be doubling and the underlying space to be such that a weak Poincaré inequality is supported. We define parabolic quasiminimizers in the general metric measure space context, and prove an energy type estimate. Using the energy estimate and properties of the underlying metric measure space, we prove a reverse Hölder inequality type estimate for minimal $p$ -weak upper gradients of parabolic quasiminimizers. Local higher integrability is then established based on the reverse Hölder inequality, by using a modification of Gehring’s lemma.  相似文献

We find a new obstruction for a real Einstein 4-orbifold with an A 1-singularity to be a limit of smooth Einstein 4-manifolds. The obstruction is a curvature condition at the singular point. For asymptotically hyperbolic metrics, with boundary at infinity a conformal metric, we prove that if the obstruction vanishes, one can desingularize Einstein orbifolds with such singularities. The Dirichlet problem consists in finding Einstein metrics with given conformal infinity on the boundary: we prove that our obstruction defines a wall in the space of conformal metrics on the boundary, and that all the Einstein metrics must have their conformal infinity on one side of the wall.  相似文献

We study the locus of tropical hyperelliptic curves inside the moduli space of tropical curves of genus g. We define a harmonic morphism of metric graphs and prove that a metric graph is hyperelliptic if and only if it admits a harmonic morphism of degree 2 to a metric tree. This generalizes the work of Baker and Norine on combinatorial graphs to the metric case. We then prove that the locus of 2-edge-connected genus g tropical hyperelliptic curves is a (2g?1)-dimensional stacky polyhedral fan whose maximal cells are in bijection with trees on g?1 vertices with maximum valence 3. Finally, we show that the Berkovich skeleton of a classical hyperelliptic plane curve satisfying a certain tropical smoothness condition is a standard ladder of genus g.  相似文献

We study two variations of Bowen's definitions of topological entropy based on separated and spanning sets which can be applied to the study of discontinuous semiflows on compact metric spaces. We prove that these definitions reduce to Bowen's ones in the case of continuous semiflows. As a second result, we prove that our entropies give a lower bound for the τ-entropy defined by Alves, Carvalho and Vásquez (2015). Finally, we prove that for impulsive semiflows satisfying certain regularity condition, there exists a continuous semiflow defined on another compact metric space which is related to the first one by a semiconjugation, and whose topological entropy equals our extended notion of topological entropy by using separated sets for the original semiflow.  相似文献

We call a metric m-quasi-Einstein if \({Ric_X^m}\) (a modification of the m-Bakry–Emery Ricci tensor in terms of a suitable vector field X) is a constant multiple of the metric tensor. It is a generalization of Einstein metrics which contain Ricci solitons. In this paper, we focus on left-invariant vector fields and left-invariant Riemannian metrics on quadratic Lie groups. First we prove that any left-invariant vector field X such that the left-invariant Riemannian metric on a quadratic Lie group is m-quasi-Einstein is a Killing vector field. Then we construct infinitely many non-trivial m-quasi-Einstein metrics on solvable quadratic Lie groups G(n) for m finite.  相似文献

We consider some metrics and weak metrics defined on the Teichmüller space of a surface of finite type with nonempty boundary, that are defined using the hyperbolic length spectrum of simple closed curves and of properly embedded arcs, and we compare these metrics and weak metrics with the Teichmüller metric. The comparison is on subsets of Teichmüller space which we call “ε 0-relative \({\epsilon}\)-thick parts”, and whose definition depends on the choice of some positive constants ε 0 and \({\epsilon}\). Meanwhile, we give a formula for the Teichmüller metric of a surface with boundary in terms of extremal lengths of families of arcs.  相似文献

In this paper we describe a family of locally conformal Kähler metrics on class 1 Hopf surfaces H a,ß containing some recent metrics constructed in [GO98]. We study some canonical foliations associated to these metrics, in particular a 2-dimensional foliation E a,ß that is shown to be independent of the metric. We prove with elementary tools that E a,ß has compact leaves if and only if a mn for some integers m and n, namely in the elliptic case. In this case we prove that the leaves of E a,ß explicitly give the elliptic fibration of H a,ß, and we describe the natural orbifold structure on the leaf space.  相似文献

In this paper we study a special class of Finsler metrics—m-Kropina metrics which are defined by a Riemannian metric and a 1-form. We prove that a weakly Einstein m-Kropina metric must be Einsteinian. Further, we characterize Einstein m-Kropina metrics in very simple conditions under a suitable deformation, and obtain the local structures of m-Kropina metrics which are of constant flag curvature and locally projectively flat with constant flag curvature respectively.  相似文献

We study word metrics on ${\mathbb{Z}^d}$ by developing tools that are fine enough to measure dependence on the generating set. We obtain counting and distribution results for the words of length n. With this, we show that counting measure on spheres always converges to cone measure on a polyhedron (strongly, in an appropriate sense). Using the limit measure, we can reduce probabilistic questions about word metrics to problems in convex geometry of Euclidean space. We give several applications to the statistics of ??size-like?? functions.  相似文献

We consider the Liouville equation associated with a metric g of class C2 and we prove dispersion and Strichartz estimates for the solution of this equation in terms of geodesics associated with g. We introduce the notion of focusing and dispersive metric to characterize metrics such that the same dispersion estimate as in the Euclidean case holds. To deal with the case of non-trapped long range perturbation of the Euclidean metric, we prove a global velocity moments effect on the solution. In particular, we obtain global in time Strichartz estimates for metrics such that the dispersion estimate is not satisfied.  相似文献

We study Sobolev inequalities on doubling metric measure spaces. We investigate the relation between Sobolev embeddings and lower bound for measure. In particular, we prove that if the Sobolev inequality holds, then the measure μ satisfies the lower bound, i.e. there exists b such that μ(B(x,r))≥b r α for r∈(0,1] and any point x from metric space.  相似文献
