We define K-homology groups K * () for small C * -categories in terms of Hilbert modules over the C * -category . We also define a functor A f from the category of small C * -categories into the category of C * -algebras and show that there is a natural isomorphism . In addition, we give an easy construction of a functor from the category of C * -algebras into the category of symmetric spectra which represents K-homology, i.e. we show that the functor comes with a natural isomorphism for C * -algebras A. It then follows that the composition A f provides a functor that can be used in the Davis-Lück approach for constructing the Baum-Connes map.  相似文献

We compute the monoid V(L K (E)) of isomorphism classes of finitely generated projective modules over certain graph algebras L K (E), and we show that this monoid satisfies the refinement property and separative cancellation. We also show that there is a natural isomorphism between the lattice of graded ideals of L K (E) and the lattice of order-ideals of V(L K (E)). When K is the field of complex numbers, the algebra is a dense subalgebra of the graph C *-algebra C *(E), and we show that the inclusion map induces an isomorphism between the corresponding monoids. As a consequence, the graph C*-algebra of any row-finite graph turns out to satisfy the stable weak cancellation property. This paper is a survey on the Hyers–Ulam–Rassias stability of the following Cauchy–Jensen functional equation in C *-algebras:
The concept of Hyers–Ulam–Rassias stability originated from the Th.M. Rassias’ stability theorem (Rassias in Proc. Am. Math. Soc. 72:297–300, [1978]). This work was supported by the research fund of Hanyang University (HY-2007-S).  相似文献

Let be a field of characteristic and S 1 the unit circle. We prove that the shc-structure on a cochain algebra (A,d A ) induces an associative product on the negative cyclic homology HC * A. When the cochain algebra (A,d A ) is the algebra of normalized cochains of the simply connected topological space X with coefficients in , then HC * A is isomorphic as a graded algebra to the S 1-equivariant cohomology algebra of LX, the free loop space of X. We use the notion of shc-formality introduced in Topology 41, 85–106 (2002) to compute the S 1-equivariant cohomology algebras of the free loop space of the complex projective space when n + 1 = 0 [p] and of the even spheres S 2n when p = 2.   相似文献

L p approximation capability of radial basis function (RBF) neural networks is investigated. If g: R +1R 1 and ∈ L loc p (R n ) with 1 ≤ p < ∞, then the RBF neural networks with g as the activation function can approximate any given function in L p (K) with any accuracy for any compact set K in R n , if and only if g(x) is not an even polynomial. For C*-algebras A and B, the identity map from into A λ B is shown to be injective. Next, we deduce that the center of the completion of the tensor product AB of two C*-algebras A and B with centers Z(A) and Z(B) under operator space projective norm is equal to . A characterization of isometric automorphisms of and A h B is also obtained. Dedicated to Ajit Iqbal Singh on her 65th birthday.  相似文献

In this paper, we characterize a C *-subalgebra C *(x) of B(H), generated by a single operator x. We show that if x is polar-decomposed by aq, where a is the partial isometry part and q is the positive operator part of x, then C *(x) is *-isomorphic to the groupoid crossed product algebra Aq×a\mathbbGa\mathcal{A}_{q}\times_{\alpha }\mathbb{G}_{a} , where Aq=C*(q)\mathcal{A}_{q}=C^{*}(q) and \mathbbGa\mathbb{G}_{a} is the graph groupoid induced by a partial isometry part a of x.  相似文献

For an MV-algebra let J 0( ) be the system of all closed ideals of ; this system is partially ordered by the set-theoretical inclusion. A radical class X of MV-algebras will be called a K-radical class iff, whenever ∈ X and is an MV-algebra with J 0( ) ≅ J 0( ), then ∈ X. An analogous notation for lattice ordered groups was introduced and studied by Conrad. In the present paper we show that there is a one-to-one correspondence between K-radical classes of MV-algebras and K-radical classes of abelian lattice ordered groups. We also prove an analogous result for product radical classes of MV-algebras; product radical classes of lattice ordered groups were studied by Ton. Let X and Y be vector spaces. The authors show that a mapping f : X →Y satisfies the functional equation 2d f(∑^2d j=1(-1)^j+1xj/2d)=∑^2dj=1(-1)^j+1f(xj) with f(0) = 0 if and only if the mapping f : X→ Y is Cauchy additive, and prove the stability of the functional equation (≠) in Banach modules over a unital C^*-algebra, and in Poisson Banach modules over a unital Poisson C*-algebra. Let A and B be unital C^*-algebras, Poisson C^*-algebras or Poisson JC^*- algebras. As an application, the authors show that every almost homomorphism h : A →B of A into is a homomorphism when h((2d-1)^nuy) =- h((2d-1)^nu)h(y) or h((2d-1)^nuoy) = h((2d-1)^nu)oh(y) for all unitaries u ∈A, all y ∈ A, n = 0, 1, 2,.... Moreover, the authors prove the stability of homomorphisms in C^*-algebras, Poisson C^*-algebras or Poisson JC^*-algebras.  相似文献

It is shown that every almost linear Pexider mappings f, g, h from a unital C*-algebra into a unital C*-algebra ℬ are homomorphisms when f(2 n uy) = f(2 n u)f(y), g(2 n uy) = g(2 n u)g(y) and h(2 n uy) = h(2 n u)h(y) hold for all unitaries u ∈ , all y ∈ , and all n ∈ ℤ, and that every almost linear continuous Pexider mappings f, g, h from a unital C*-algebra of real rank zero into a unital C*-algebra ℬ are homomorphisms when f(2 n uy) = f(2 n u)f(y), g(2 n uy) = g(2 n u)g(y) and h(2 n uy) = h(2 n u)h(y) hold for all u ∈ {v ∈ : v = v* and v is invertible}, all y ∈ and all n ∈ ℤ. Furthermore, we prove the Cauchy-Rassias stability of *-homomorphisms between unital C*-algebras, and ℂ-linear *-derivations on unital C*-algebras. The C *-algebra generated by the n poly-Bergman and m antipoly-Bergman projections and by the operators of multiplication by piecewise continuous functions on the Lebesgue space L 2(Π) over the upper half-plane is studied. Making use of a local principle, limit operators techniques, and the Plamenevsky results on two-dimensional convolution operators with symbols admitting homogeneous discontinuities we reduce the study to simpler C *-algebras associated with points and pairs . Applying a symbol calculus for the abstract unital C *-algebras generated by N orthogonal projections sum of which equals the unit and by M = n + m one-dimensional orthogonal projections and using relations for the Gauss hypergeometric function, we study local algebras at points being the discontinuity points of coefficients. A symbol calculus for the C *-algebra is constructed and a Fredholm criterion for the operators is obtained.  相似文献

For 0 < α < mn and nonnegative integers n ≥ 2, m ≥ 1, the multilinear fractional integral is defined by
where = (y 1,y 2, ···, y m ) and denotes the m-tuple (f 1,f 2, ···, f m ). In this note, the one-weighted and two-weighted boundedness on L p (ℝ n ) space for multilinear fractional integral operator I α(m) and the fractional multi-sublinear maximal operator M α(m) are established respectively. The authors also obtain two-weighted weak type estimate for the operator M α(m). Let A be a compact set in of Hausdorff dimension d. For s ∈ (0,d) the Riesz s-equilibrium measure μ s is the unique Borel probability measure with support in A that minimizes
over all such probability measures. If A is strongly -rectifiable, then μ s converges in the weak-star topology to normalized d-dimensional Hausdorff measure restricted to A as s approaches d from below. We consider the operator in L 2(B, ν) and in L 1(B, ν) with Neumann boundary condition, where U is an unbounded function belonging to for some q ∈(1, ∞), B is the possibly unbounded convex open set in where U is finite and ν(dx) = C exp (−2U (x))dx is a probability measure, infinitesimally invariant for N 0. We prove that the closure of N 0 is a m-dissipative operator both in L 2(B, ν) and in L 1(B, ν). Moreover we study the properties of ergodicity and strong mixing of the measure ν in the L 2 case.   相似文献

We consider maps defined on a real space Asa of all self-adjoint elements of a C*-algebra A commuting with the conjugation by unitaries: F(u* au) = u* F(a)u for any a ∈ A sa, u ∈ (A). In the case where A is a full matrix algebra, there is a functional realization of these maps (in terms of multivariable functions) and analytical properties of these maps can be expressed in terms of corresponding functions. In the present work, these results are generalized to the class of uniformly hyperfinite C*-algebras and to the algebra of all compact operators in a Hilbert space. The rank of a q-ary code C is the dimension of the subspace spanned by C. The kernel of a q-ary code C of length n can be defined as the set of all translations leaving C invariant. Some relations between the rank and the dimension of the kernel of q-ary 1-perfect codes, over as well as over the prime field , are established. Q-ary 1-perfect codes of length n=(qm − 1)/(q − 1) with different kernel dimensions using switching constructions are constructed and some upper and lower bounds for the dimension of the kernel, once the rank is given, are established.Communicated by: I.F. Given any R-semimodule M equipped with a semitopology we construct an N-protosummation for M. If satisfies certain properties, then a similar construction leads to an unconditional N-summation for M, that is an N-summation for M equipped with the trivial prenorm MD over the N-summation (DN,D) for D. Conversely any N-protosummation on M gives rise to a topology . If both and satisfy a certain separation property, then and form a Galois connection.
