In this paper, we present the spectral results of Dy3+ and Pr3+ (1.0 mol%) ions doped Bi2O3-ZnF2-B2O3-Li2O-Na2O glasses. Measurements of X-ray diffraction (XRD), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) profiles of these rare-earth ions doped glasses have been carried out. From the DSC thermograms, glass transition (Tg), crystallization (Tc) and melting (Tm) temperatures have been evaluated. The direct and indirect optical band gaps have been calculated based on the glasses UV absorption spectra. The emission spectrum of Dy3+:glass has shown two emission transitions 4F7/26H15/2 (482 nm) and 4F7/26H13/2 (576 nm) with an excitation at 390 nm wavelength and Pr3+:glass has shown a strong emission transition 1D23H4 (610 nm) with an excitation at 445 nm. Upon exposure to UV radiation, Dy3+ and Pr3+ glasses have shown bright yellow and reddish colors, respectively, from their surfaces.  相似文献

This paper reports on the absorption, visible and near-infrared luminescence properties of Nd3+, Er3+, Er3+/2Yb3+, and Tm3+ doped oxyfluoride aluminosilicate glasses. From the measured absorption spectra, Judd-Ofelt (J-O) intensity parameters (Ω2, Ω4 and Ω6) have been calculated for all the studied ions. Decay lifetime curves were measured for the visible emissions of Er3+ (558 nm, green), and Tm3+ (650 and 795 nm), respectively. The near infrared emission spectrum of Nd3+ doped glass has shown full width at half maximum (FWHM) around 45 nm (for the 4F3/24I9/2 transition), 45 nm (for the 4F3/24I11/2 transition), and 60 nm (for the 4F3/24I13/2 transition), respectively, with 800 nm laser diode (LD) excitation. For Er3+, and Er3+/2Yb3+ co-doped glasses, the characteristic near infrared emission bands were spectrally centered at 1532 and 1544 nm, respectively, with 980 nm laser diode excitation, exhibiting full width at half maximum around 50 and 90 nm for the erbium 4I13/24I15/2 transition. The measured maximum decay times of 4I13/24I15/2 transition (at wavelength 1532 and 1544 nm) are about 5.280 and 5.719 ms for 1Er3+ and 1Er3+/2Yb3+ (mol%) co-doped glasses, respectively. The maximum stimulated emission cross sections for 4I13/24I15/2 transition of Er3+ and Er3+/Yb3+ are 10.81×10−21 and 5.723×10-21 cm2. These glasses with better thermal stability, bright visible emissions and broad near-infrared emissions should have potential applications in broadly tunable laser sources, interesting optical luminescent materials and broadband optical amplification at low-loss telecommunication windows.  相似文献

The thermal characterization and spectroscopic properties of Er3+-doped 0.6GeO2-(0.4-x)PbO-xPbF2 glasses were investigated experimentally. With the replacement of PbO by PbF2 the thermal stability of glasses is improved and the infrared fluorescence intensity at 1530 nm is increased. The Judd-Ofelt intensity parameters, radiative transition rates, and fluorescence lifetimes of the excited 4I13/2 level of Er3+ ions were calculated from Judd-Ofelt theory. The asymmetric ligand field around Er3+ ions resulted from the incorporation of PbF2 into germanate glasses, broadens the infrared emission spectra at 1530 nm. Upconversion luminescence in the investigated glasses was observed at room temperature under the excitation of 976 nm laser diode. The glass 0.6GeO2-0.3PbO-0.1PbF2 exhibits the maximum upconversion emission intensity, while no frequency upconversion luminescence was observed in the 0.6GeO2-0.4PbO glass. The quadratic dependence of the green and red emissions on excitation power indicates that two-photon absorption contributes to the visible emission under the 976-nm excitation.  相似文献

In this paper, we present the photoluminescence properties of Pr3+-, Sm3+- and Dy3+-doped germanate glasses and glass ceramics. From the X-ray diffraction measurement, the host glass structure was determined. These glasses have shown strong absorption bands in the near-infrared (NIR) region. Compared to Pr3+-, Sm3+- and Dy3+-doped glasses, their respective glass ceramics have shown stronger emissions due to the Ba2TiGe2O8 crystalline phase. For Pr3+-doped glass and glass ceramic, emission bands centered at 530 nm (3P03H5), 614 nm (3P03H6), 647 nm (3P03F2) and 686 nm (3P03F3) have been observed with 485 nm (3H43P0) excitation wavelength. Of them, 647 nm (3P03F2) has shown bright red emission. Emission bands of 4G5/26H5/2 (565 nm), 4G5/26H7/2 (602 nm) and 4G5/26H9/2 (648 nm) for the Sm3+:glass and glass ceramic, with excitation at 6H5/24F7/2 (405 nm) have been recorded. Of them, 4G5/26H7/2 (602 nm) has shown a bright orange emission. With regard to the Dy3+:glass and glass ceramic, a bright fluorescent yellow emission at 577 nm (4F9/26H13/2) has been observed, apart from 4F9/26H11/2 (667 nm) emission transition with an excitation at 454 nm (6H15/24I15/2) wavelength. The stimulated emission cross-sections of all the emission bands of Pr3+, Sm3+ and Dy3+:glasses and glass ceramics have been computed based on their measured full-width at half-maxima (FWHM, Δλ) and lifetimes (τm).  相似文献

The phosphors, Bi3+- activated Gd2O3:Er3+, were prepared by sol-gel combustion method, and their photoluminescent properties were investigated under ultraviolet light excitation. The emission spectrum exhibited sharp peaks at about 520, 535, 545, 550 and 559 nm due to (2H11/2, 4S3/2)→4I15/2 transitions of Er3+ ions. The luminescent intensity was remarkably improved by the incorporation of Bi3+ ions under 340 nm light excitation, which suggested very efficient energy transfer from Bi3+ ions to Er3+ions. The introducing of Bi3+ ions broadened the excitation band of the phosphor, of which a new strong peak occurred ranging from 320 to 360 nm due to the 6s2→6s6p transition of Bi3+ ions. There is significant energy overlap between the emission band of Bi3+ ions and the excitation band of Er3+ ions. Under 340 nm light excitation, Bi3+ absorbed most of the energy and transferred it to Er3+. The energy transfer probability from Bi3+ to Er3+ is strongly dependent on the Bi3+ ion concentration. Also, the sensitization effectiveness was studied and discussed in this paper.  相似文献

Luminescence properties of Eu3+ doped TeO2-PbO-GeO2 glasses containing gold nanoparticles (NPs) were investigated. The emission spectra of the samples exhibited enhancement of Eu3+ luminescence due to the presence of gold NPs. The emission at 614 nm, due to the Eu3+ hypersensitive transition 5D0-7F2, is much influenced by the gold NPs and increases by ≈100% for samples heat-treated at 350 °C during 41 h.  相似文献

Effect of Yb2O3 content on upconversion luminescence and mechanisms in Yb3+-sensitized Tm3+-doped oxyhalide tellurite glasses were investigated under 980 nm excitation. Intense blue and relatively weak red upconversion emission centered at 476 and 649 nm corresponding to the transitions 1G43H6 and 1G43H4 of Tm3+, respectively, are simultaneously observed at room temperature. The results show that upconversion blue and red emission intensities of Tm3+ first increase, reach its maximum at Yb2O3%=3 mol%, and then decrease with increasing Yb2O3 content. The effect of Yb2O3 content on upconversion intensity is discussed, and possible effect mechanisms are evaluated. The investigated results were conducing to increase upconversion luminescence efficiency of Tm3+.  相似文献

In a three-components fluorophosphate glass system, the introduction of H3BO3 brings some valuable influence to the spectroscopic and thermal properties of the glasses. With H3BO3 increases from 2 to 20 mol%, Ω6, Sed4I13/2, FWHM, Tg and fluorescence lifetime change from 3.21×10−20 cm2, 1.77×10−20 cm2, 45 nm, 480 °C and 8.8 ms to 4.66×10−20 cm2, 2.11×10−20 cm2, 50 nm, 541 °C and 7.4 ms, respectively. σabs, σemi, FWHM×τf×σemi has a maximum when H3BO3 is 11 mol%. Tg and TxTg increases with H3BO3 introduction. Results showed that in fluorophosphate glasses, proper amount of B2O3 can be used as a modifier to suppress upconversion and improve spectroscopic properties, broadband property and crystallization stability of the glasses while keeps the fluorescence lifetime relatively high.  相似文献

Photoluminescence properties of Bi3+ co-doped Eu3+ containing zinc borate glasses have been investigated and the results are reported here. Bright red emission due to a dominant electric dipole transition 5D07F2 of the Eu3+ ions has been observed from these glasses. The nature of Stark components from the measured fluorescence transitions of Eu3+ ions reveal that the rare earth ions could take the lattice sites of Cs or lower point symmetry in the zinc borate glass hosts. The significant enhancement of Eu3+ emission intensity by 346 nm excitation (1S03P1 of Bi3+ ions) elucidates the sensitization effect of co-dopant. The energy transfer mechanism between sensitizer (Bi3+) and activator (Eu3+) ions has been explained.  相似文献

A simulation of erbium-doped glass systems, which provides population density for the excited states involved in the 1.5 μm and also for 2.7 μm emissions when pumped around 980 nm, is presented. To describe the diode pump laser processes, a theoretical model based in a coupled system of differential rate equations was developed. The approach used and the obtained spectroscopic parameters are discussed. The materials under study are two oxide glasses, lead fluoroborate (PbO-PbF2-B2O3), and heavy metal oxide (Bi2O3-PbO-Ga2O3) and a fluoride glass (ZrF4-BaF2-LaF3-AlF3-NaF), all of them doped with Er3+.  相似文献

A series of Er3+/Yb3+-co-doped 60Bi2O3-(40−x) B2O3 -xGa2O3 (BBGA x=0, 4, 8, 12, 16 mol%) glasses have been prepared. The absorption spectra, emission spectra, fluorescence lifetime of Er3+:4I13/2 level and thermal stability were measured and investigated. Three Judd-Ofelt intensity parameters Ωt (t=2,4,6) (Ω2=(4.67-5.93)×10−20 cm2, Ω4=(1.50-1.81)×10−20 cm2, Ω6=(0.92-1.17)×10−20 cm2) of Er3+ ions were calculated by Judd-Ofelt theory. It is found that the Ω6 first increases with the increase of Ga2O3 content from 0 to 8 mol% and then decreases, which is mainly affected by the number of non-bridging oxygen ions of the glass network. The high peak of stimulated emission cross-section () of Er3+: 4I13/24I15/2 transition were obtained according to McCumber theory and broad full width at half maximum (FWHM=69-76 nm) of the 4I13/24I15/2 transition of Er3+ ions were measured. The results indicate that these new BBGA glasses can be used as a candidate host material for potential broadband optical amplifiers.  相似文献

Synthesis and photoluminescence (PL) investigations of lithium metasilicate doped with Eu3+, Tb3+ and Ce3+ were carried out. PL spectra of Eu-doped sample showed peaks corresponding to the 5D07Fj (j=1, 2, 3 and 4) transitions under ultraviolet excitation. Strong red emission coming from the hypersensitive 5D07F2 transition of Eu3+ ion suggested the presence of the dopant ion in structurally disordered environment. Tb3+-doped silicate sample showed blue-green emission corresponding to the 5D47Fj (j=6, 5 and 4) transitions. Ce-doped sample under excitation from UV, showed a broad emission band in the region 350-370 nm with shoulders around 410 nm. The fluorescence lifetimes of Eu3+ and Tb3+ ions were found out to be 790 and 600 μs, respectively. For Ce3+, the lifetime was of the order of 45 ns. PL spectra of the europium- and terbium-doped samples were compared with commercial red (Y2O3:Eu3+) and green (LaPO4:Tb3+) phosphors, respectively. It was found that the emission from the doped silicate sample was 37% of the commercial phosphor in case of the Tb-doped sample and 8% of the commercial phosphor in case of the Eu-doped sample.  相似文献

The luminescent properties of CaYBO4:Ln(Ln=Eu3+, Tb3+) were investigated under ultraviolet (UV) and vacuum ultraviolet (VUV) region. The CT band of Eu3+ at about 245 nm blue-shifted to 230 nm in VUV excitation spectrum; the band with the maximum at 183 nm was considered as the host lattice absorption. For the sample of CaYBO4:0.08Tb3+, the bands at about 235 and 263 nm were assigned to the f-d transitions of Tb3+ and the CT band of Tb3+ was calculated according to Jφrgensen's theory. Under UV and VUV excitation, the main emission of Eu3+ corresponding to the 5D0-7F2 transition located at about 610 nm and two intense emission of Tb3+ from the 5D4-7F5 transition had been observed at about 542 and 552 nm, respectively. With the incorporation of Gd3+ into the host lattice of CaYBO4, the luminescence of Tb3+ was enhanced while that of Eu3+ was decreased because of their different excitation mechanism.  相似文献

This paper reports polarized spectral properties and energy levels of Cr3+ in KAl(MoO4)2 crystal. The absorption and emission cross sections are estimated as 3.72×10-20 cm2 at 669 nm and 2.74×10-20 cm-2 at 823 nm for σ-polarization, respectively. The energy levels of Cr3+ ion in KAl(MoO4)2 crystal were calculated based on the Tanabe-Sugano theory. It is suggested that Cr3+ ions occupy at an intermediate crystal field site in Cr3+:KAl(MoO4)2.  相似文献

The crystalline structure and photoluminescence (PL) properties of europium-doped cerium dioxide synthesized by the solid-state reaction method were analyzed. CeO2:Eu3+ phosphor powders exhibit the pure cubic fluorite phase up to 10 mol% doping concentration of Eu3+. With indirect excitation of CeO2 host at 373 nm, the PL intensity quickly increases with increasing Eu3+ concentration, up to about 1 mol%, and then decreases indicating the concentration quenching. While with direct excitation (467 nm), much more stronger PL emissions, especially the electric dipole emission 5D0-7F2 at 612 nm, are observed and no concentration quenching occurs up to 10 mol% doping concentration of Eu3+. The nature of this behavior and the cause of the concentration quenching were discussed.  相似文献

The ZnGa2O4:Mn2+, Cr3+ phosphors show three colors; the blue band of 380 nm from the charge transfer between Ga-O, the green band of 505 nm from Mn2+ and the red band of 705 nm from Cr3+. As a variation of Mn2+ or Cr3+ concentrations in ZnGa2O4:Mn2+, Cr3+, the relative emission intensity can be tuned. This phenomenon is explained in terms of the energy transfer based on four factors: the spectral overlap between the energy donors (Ga-O) and the energy accepters of Mn2+ or Cr3+, the absorption cross section of the energy accepters, the distance between them, and the decay time of the energy donors. ZnGa2O4:0.0025Mn2+, 0.010Cr3+ shows the CIE coordinates of x=0.4014, y=0.3368, which is a pure white light. The single-phased full-color emitting ZnGa2O4:Mn2+, Cr3+ phosphors can be applied to illumination devices.  相似文献

Erbium-doped MoO3−Bi2O3−TeO2 (MBT) glasses suitable for broadband optical amplifier applications have been fabricated and characterized optically. The maximum phonon band of undoped glasses is at 915 cm−1, and the emission from the Er3+: 4I13/2 → 4I15/2 transition locates around 1.53 μm with a full width at half maximum (FWHM) of ∼80 nm. The lifetime and quantum efficiency of the 4I13/2 level are 2.13 ms and ∼90%, respectively. Under the same measurement condition, the upconversion emission intensities at 550 nm in Er3+-doped MBT glasses is about 30 times weaker than that in Er3+-doped Na2O−ZnO−TeO2 (NZT) glasses.  相似文献

Spectroscopic properties of Ce3+ and Pr3+-doped AREP2O7-type alkali rare earth diphosphates (A=Na, K, Rb, Cs; RE=Y, Lu) have been investigated using VUV spectroscopy technique. Ce3+-doped samples show typical Ce3+ emission in the range of 325-450 nm. The strong host absorption band starting at around 160 nm indicates that the optical band gap of AREP2O7 hosts is at least 7.7 eV, and the host→Ce3+ energy transfer process is rather efficient. However, AREP2O7:Pr3+ samples show less efficient host→Pr3+ energy transfer. The direct Pr3+ 4f2→4f15d1 excitation, which are 12160±640 cm−1 higher respect to that of Ce3+, leads to strong 4f15d1→4f2 emission bands in the range of 230-325 nm but no obvious 4f2→4f2 emission lines.  相似文献

Se85Te10Bi5 films of different thicknesses ranging from 126 to 512 nm have been prepared. Energy-dispersive X-ray (EDX) spectroscopy technique showed that films are nearly stoichiometric. X-ray diffraction (XRD) measurements have showed that the Se85Te10Bi5 films were amorphous. Electrical conduction activation energy (ΔEσ) for the obtained films is found to be 0.662 eV independent of thickness in the investigated range. Investigation of the current voltage (I-V) characteristics in amorphous Se85Te10Bi5 films reveals that it is typical for a memory switch. The switching voltage Vth increases with the increase of the thickness and decreases exponentially with temperature in the range from 298 to 383 K. The switching voltage activation energy (ε) calculated from the temperature dependence of Vth is found to be 0.325 eV. The switching phenomenon in amorphous Se85Te10Bi5 films is explained according to an electrothermal model for the switching process. The optical constants, the refractive index (n) and the absorption index (k) have been determined from transmittance (T) and reflectance (R) of Se85Te10Bi5 films. Allowed non-direct transitions with an optical energy gap (Egopt) of 1.33 eV have been obtained. ΔEσ is almost half the obtained value of Egopt, which suggested band to band conduction as indicated by Davis and Mott.  相似文献

The energy transfer processes in Lu2SiO5:Ce3+ luminescence was investigated through the temperature dependent luminescence under excitation with VUV-UV. Ce1 center emission peaking at 393 and 422 nm and Ce2 center emission peaking at 462 nm were observed. Ce2 center emission is enhanced with the temperature, which can be explained by the rate of energy transfer from Ce1 center increases when the temperature rises. The Ce1 emission shows the thermal quenching effect under the direct excitation of Ce3+ at 262 nm. However, under the interband excitation of 183 nm, the Ce1 center emission exhibits undulating temperature dependence. This is because the emission is governed by thermal quenching and possible thermal enhancement of the transport of free carriers with the rising temperature.  相似文献
