Kinetic studies of cyanide exchange on [M(CN)(4)](2-) square-planar complexes (M = Pt, Pd, and Ni) were performed as a function of pH by (13)C NMR. The [Pt(CN)(4)](2-) complex has a purely second-order rate law, with CN(-) as acting as the nucleophile, with the following kinetic parameters: (k(2)(Pt,CN))(298) = 11 +/- 1 s(-1) mol(-1) kg, DeltaH(2) (Pt,CN) = 25.1 +/- 1 kJ mol(-1), DeltaS(2) (Pt,CN) = -142 +/- 4 J mol(-1) K(-1), and DeltaV(2) (Pt,CN) = -27 +/- 2 cm(3) mol(-1). The Pd(II) metal center has the same behavior down to pH 6. The kinetic parameters are as follows: (k(2)(Pd,CN))(298) = 82 +/- 2 s(-1) mol(-1) kg, DeltaH(2) (Pd,CN) = 23.5 +/- 1 kJ mol(-1), DeltaS(2) (Pd,CN) = -129 +/- 5 J mol(-1) K(-1), and DeltaV(2) (Pd,CN) = -22 +/- 2 cm(3) mol(-1). At low pH, the tetracyanopalladate is protonated (pK(a)(Pd(4,H)) = 3.0 +/- 0.3) to form [Pd(CN)(3)HCN](-). The rate law of the cyanide exchange on the protonated complex is also purely second order, with (k(2)(PdH,CN))(298) = (4.5 +/- 1.3) x 10(3) s(-1) mol(-1) kg. [Ni(CN)(4)](2-) is involved in various equilibrium reactions, such as the formation of [Ni(CN)(5)](3-), [Ni(CN)(3)HCN](-), and [Ni(CN)(2)(HCN)(2)] complexes. Our (13)C NMR measurements have allowed us to determine that the rate constant leading to the formation of [Ni(CN)(5)](3-) is k(2)(Ni(4),CN) = (2.3 +/- 0.1) x 10(6) s(-1) mol(-1) kg when the following activation parameters are used: DeltaH(2)() (Ni,CN) = 21.6 +/- 1 kJ mol(-1), DeltaS(2) (Ni,CN) = -51 +/- 7 J mol(-1) K(-1), and DeltaV(2) (Ni,CN) = -19 +/- 2 cm(3) mol(-1). The rate constant of the back reaction is k(-2)(Ni(4),CN) = 14 x 10(6) s(-1). The rate law pertaining to [Ni(CN)(2)(HCN)(2)] was found to be second order at pH 3.8, and the value of the rate constant is (k(2)(Ni(4,2H),CN))(298) = (63 +/- 15) x10(6) s(-1) mol(-1) kg when DeltaH(2) (Ni(4,2H),CN) = 47.3 +/- 1 kJ mol(-1), DeltaS(2) (Ni(4,2H),CN) = 63 +/- 3 J mol(-1) K(-1), and DeltaV(2) (Ni(4,2H),CN) = - 6 +/- 1 cm(3) mol(-1). The cyanide-exchange rate constant on [M(CN)(4)](2-) for Pt, Pd, and Ni increases in a 1:7:200 000 ratio. This trend is modified at low pH, and the palladium becomes 400 times more reactive than the platinum because of the formation of [Pd(CN)(3)HCN](-). For all cyanide exchanges on tetracyano complexes (A mechanism) and on their protonated forms (I/I(a) mechanisms), we have always observed a pure second-order rate law: first order for the complex and first order for CN(-). The nucleophilic attack by HCN or solvation by H(2)O is at least nine or six orders of magnitude slower, respectively than is nucleophilic attack by CN(-) for Pt(II), Pd(II), and Ni(II), respectively.  相似文献

We present studies of the resonance Raman and electronic luminescence spectra of the [Au(2)(dmpm)(3)](ClO(4))(2) (dmpm = bis(dimethylphosphine)methane) complex, including excitation into an intense band at 256 nm and into a weaker absorption system centered about approximately 300 nm. The resonance Raman spectra confirm the assignment of the 256 nm absorption band to a (1)(dsigma --> psigma) transition, a metal-metal-localized transition, in that nu(Au-Au) and overtones of it are strongly enhanced. A resonance Raman intensity analysis of the spectra associated with the 256 nm absorption band gives the ground-state and excited-state nu(Au-Au) stretching frequencies to be 79 and 165 cm(-1), respectively, and the excited-state Au-Au distance is calculated to decrease by about 0.1 A from the ground-state value of 3.05 A. The approximately 300 nm absorption displays a different enhancement pattern, in that resonance-enhanced Raman bands are observed at 103 and 183 cm(-1) in addition to nu(Au-Au) at 79 cm(-1) The compound exhibits intense, long-lived luminescence (in room-temperature CH(3)CN, for example, tau = 0.70 micros, phi(emission) = 0.037) with a maximum at 550-600 nm that is not very medium-sensitive. We conclude, in agreement with an earlier proposal of Mason (Inorg. Chem. 1989, 28, 4366-4369), that the lowest-energy, luminescent excited state is not (3)(dsigma --> psigma) but instead derives from (3)(d(x2-y2,xy --> psigma) excitations. We compare the Au(I)-Au(I) interaction shown in the various transitions of the [Au(2)(dmpm)(3)](ClO(4))(2) tribridged compound with previous results for solvent or counterion exciplexes of [Au(2)(dcpm)(2)](2+) salts (J. Am. Chem. Soc. 1999, 121, 4799-4803; Angew. Chem. 1999, 38, 2783-2785; Chem. Eur. J. 2001, 7, 4656-4664) and for planar, mononuclear Au(I) triphosphine complexes. It is proposed that the luminescent state in all of these cases is very similar in electronic nature.  相似文献

Photoelectron spectroscopy is combined with ab initio calculations to elucidate the structure and chemical bonding of a series of MAl(6)(-) (M = Li, Na, K, Cu, and Au) bimetallic clusters. Well-resolved photoelectron spectra were obtained for MAl(6)(-) (M = Li, Na, Cu, and Au) at several photon energies. The ab initio calculations showed that all of the MAl(6)(-) clusters can be viewed as an M(+) cation interacting with an Al(6)(2-) dianion. Al(6)(2-) was found to possess an O(h) ground-state structure, and all of the MAl(6)(-) clusters possess a C(3v) ground-state structure derived from the O(h) Al(6)(2-). Careful comparison between the photoelectron spectral features and the ab initio one-electron detachment energies allows us to establish firmly the C(3v)ground-state structures for the MAl(6)(-) clusters. A detailed molecular orbital (MO) analysis is conducted for Al(6)(2-) and compared with Al(3)(-). It was shown that Al(6)(2-) can be considered as the fusion of two Al(3)(-) units. We further found that the preferred occupation of those MOs derived from the sums of the empty 2e' MOs of Al(3)(-), rather than those derived from the differences between the occupied 2a(1)' and 2a(2)' ' MOs of Al(3)(-), provides the key bonding interactions for the fusion of the two Al(3)(-) into Al(6)(2-). Because there are only four bonding MOs (one pi and three sigma MOs), an analysis of resonance structures was performed for the O(h)Al(6)(2-). It is shown that every face of the Al(6)(2-) octahedron still possesses both pi- and sigma-aromaticity, analogous to Al(3)(-), and that in fact Al(6)(2-) can be viewed to possess three-dimensional pi- and sigma-aromaticity with a large resonance stabilization.  相似文献

Charge-transfer salts [Co(C5H5)2][M(dpt)2] (M = Ni and Pt; dpt = cis-1,2-diphenylethene-1,2-dithiolate) were synthesized and crystallographically characterized. [Co(C5H5)2][Ni(dpt)2] crystallizes in the monoclinic space group C2/c with a = 25, 607(3) Å, b = 9.4151(11) Å, c = 14.407(4) Å, β = 101.373(22)°, V = 3405.3(10) Å3 and Z = 4. [Co(C5H5)2][Pt(dpt)2] belongs to the triclinic space group $ {\rm P}\bar 1 $ with a = 9.4666(11) Å, b = 13.9869(12) Å, c = 14.2652(9) Å, α = 99.983(6)°, β = 90.034(7)°, γ = 109.751(7)°, V = 1747.2(3) Å3 and Z = 2. Both structures consist of ··· D+A?D+A?D+A? ··· linear chains with the local C5 axis of the eclipsed [Co(C5H5)2]+ cation parallel to the best MS4 plane of the [M(dpt)2]? anion. Magnetic susceptibility measurements show that χM T values of the complexes [Co(C5H5)2][M(dpt)2] (M = Ni, Pd, and Pt) remain nearly constant in the temperature range 15–300 K, but decrease rapidly with further decreasing of temperature, indicating weak antiferromagnetic interactions at low temperatures.  相似文献

The electronic structures of complexes of iron containing two S,S'-coordinated benzene-1,2-dithiolate, (L)(2)(-), or 3,5-di-tert-butyl-1,2-benzenedithiolate, (L(Bu))(2)(-), ligands have been elucidated in depth by electronic absorption, infrared, X-band EPR, and Mossbauer spectroscopies. It is conclusively shown that, in contrast to earlier reports, high-valent iron(IV) (d(4), S = 1) is not accessible in this chemistry. Instead, the S,S'-coordinated radical monoanions (L(*))(1)(-) and/or (L(Bu)(*))(1)(-) prevail. Thus, five-coordinate [Fe(L)(2)(PMe(3))] has an electronic structure which is best described as [Fe(III)(L)(L(*))(PMe(3))] where the observed triplet ground state of the molecule is attained via intramolecular, strong antiferromagnetic spin coupling between an intermediate spin ferric ion (S(Fe) = (3)/(2)) and a ligand radical (L(*))(1)(-) (S(rad) = (1)/(2)). The following complexes containing only benzene-1,2-dithiolate(2-) ligands have been synthesized, and their electronic structures have been studied in detail: [NH(C(2)H(5))(3)](2)[Fe(II)(L)(2)] (1), [N(n-Bu)(4)](2)[Fe(III)(2)(L)(4)] (2), [N(n-Bu)(4)](2)[Fe(III)(2)(L(Bu))(4)] (3); [P(CH(3))Ph(3)][Fe(III)(L)(2)(t-Bu-py)] (4) where t-Bu-py is 4-tert-butylpyridine. Complexes containing an Fe(III)(L(*))(L)- or Fe(III)(L(Bu))(L(Bu)(*))- moiety are [N(n-Bu)(4)][Fe(III)(2)(L(Bu))(3)(L(Bu)(*))] (3(ox)()), [Fe(III)(L)(L(*))(t-Bu-py)] (4(ox)()), [Fe(III)(L(Bu))(L(Bu)(*))(PMe(3))] (7), [Fe(III)(L(Bu))(L(Bu)(*))(PMe(3))(2)] (8), and [Fe(III)(L(Bu))(L(Bu)(*))(PPr(3))] (9), where Pr represents the n-propyl substituent. Complexes 2, 3(ox)(), 4, [Fe(III)(L)(L(*))(PMe(3))(2)] (6), and 9 have been structurally characterized by X-ray crystallography.

We report the first examples of metal dithiolenes belonging to the class [M(R-dmet)(2)] [R-dmet = formally monoreduced N-substituted thiazolidine-2,4,5-trithione; R = Et, M = Ni (1), Pd (2), Pt (3)]. A comparative spectroscopic, electrochemical, and density functional theory theoretical investigation indicates that [M(R-dmet)(2)] complexes show features intermediate between those of the dithiolenes belonging to the previously reported classes [M(R,R'-timdt)(2)] and [M(dmit)(2)] (R,R'-timdt = formally monoreduced N,N'-disubstituted imidazolidine-2,4,5-trithione; dmit = 2-thioxo-1,3-dithiole-4,5-dithiolato). UV-vis-near-IR spectroscopy and cyclic voltammetry/differential pulsed voltammetry measurements performed on 1 and 3 proved that the new dithiolenes are stable as neutral, monoanionic, and bianionic species and feature a near-IR electrochromic absorption falling at about 1000 and 1250 nm for neutral and monoanionic species, respectively.  相似文献

The results of all-electron density functional calculations on the bimetallic cluster compounds [M(4){Fe(CO)(4)}(4)](4-) (M = Cu, Ag, Au) and on the corresponding naked species M(4)Fe(4) are reported. The trends within the triad have been investigated. The bare metal clusters exhibit a strong magnetization which is quenched on addition of CO ligands. The bonding in the bare clusters is different for the silver derivative compared to that of copper and gold, resulting in comparatively weaker Ag-Fe and Ag-Ag bonds. This can be rationalized in terms of the different d-sp mixing, which for Cu and Au is larger than for Ag. Relativistic effects act to increase the 4d-5s mixing in Ag and to strengthen the intermetallic bond with Fe. In the carbonylated clusters a charge transfer from the metal M (M = Cu, Ag, or Au) to the Fe(CO)(4) groups occurs so that the atoms M can be considered in a formal +I oxidation state, rationalizing the nearly square-planar geometry of the metal frame. In fact, the local coordination of the M atoms is almost linear, as expected for complexes of M(I). The addition of extra electrons results in a stabilization of the clusters, indicating the electron-deficient nature of these compounds. Similar features have been found for the largest cluster synthesized so far for this class of compounds, [Ag(13){Fe(CO)(4)}(8)](n)(-), (n = 0-5). The nature and localization of the unpaired electron in the tetraanion is also discussed.  相似文献

A series of new heterometallic coordination polymers has been prepared from the reaction of metal-ligand cations and KAg(CN)(2) units. Many of these contain silver-silver (argentophilic) interactions, analogous to gold-gold interactions, which serve to increase supramolecular structural dimensionality. Compared to [Au(CN)(2)](-) analogues, these polymers display new trends specific to [Ag(CN)(2)](-), including the formation of [Ag(2)(CN)(3)](-) and the presence of Ag...N interactions. [Cu(en)(2)][Ag(2)(CN)(3)][Ag(CN)(2)] (1, en = ethylenediamine) forms 1-D chains of alternating [Ag(CN)(2)](-) and [Ag(2)(CN)(3)](-) units via argentophilic interactions of 3.102(1) A. These chains are connected into a 2-D array by strong cyano(N)-Ag interactions of 2.572(3) A. [Cu(dien)Ag(CN)(2)](2)[Ag(2)(CN)(3)][Ag(CN)(2)] (2, dien = diethylenetriamine) forms a 1-D chain of alternating [Cu(dien)](2+) and [Ag(CN)(2)](-) ions with the Cu(II) atoms connected in an apical/equatorial fashion. These chains are cross-linked by [Ag(2)(CN)(3)](-) units via argentophilic interactions of 3.1718(8) A and held weakly in a 3-D array by argentophilic interactions of 3.2889(5) A between the [Ag(CN)(2)](-) in the 2-D array and the remaining free [Ag(CN)(2)](-). [Ni(en)][Ni(CN)(4)].2.5H(2)O (4) was identified as a byproduct in the reaction to prepare the previously reported [Ni(en)(2)Ag(2)(CN)(3)][Ag(CN)(2)] (3). In [Ni(tren)Ag(CN)(2)][Ag(CN)(2)] (5, tren = tris(2-aminoethyl)amine), [Ni(tren)](2+) cations are linked in a cis fashion by [Ag(CN)(2)](-) anions to form a 1-D chain similar to the [Au(CN)(2)](-) analogue. [Cu(en)Cu(CN)(2)Ag(CN)(2)] (6) is a trimetallic polymer consisting of interpenetrating (6,3) nets stabilized by d(10)-d(10) interactions between Cu(I)-Ag(I) (3.1000(4) A). Weak antiferromagnetic coupling has been observed in 2, and a slightly stronger exchange has been observed in 6. The Ni(II) complexes, 4 and 5, display weak antiferromagnetic interactions as indicated by their relatively larger D values compared to that of 3. Magnetic measurements on isostructural [Ni(tren)M(CN)(2)][M(CN)(2)] (M = Ag, Au) show that Ag(I) is a more efficient mediator of magnetic exchange as compared to Au(I). The formation of [Ni(CN)(4)](2)(-), [Ag(2)(CN)(3)](-), and [Cu(CN)(2)](-) are all attributed to secondary reactions of the dissociation products of the labile KAg(CN)(2).  相似文献

A detailed understanding of the electronic structure of transition metal bis(dithiolene) complexes is important because of their interesting redox, magnetic, optical, and conducting properties and their relevance to enzymes containing molybdenum and tungsten bis(dithiolene) centers. The electronic structures of the bis(dithiolene) anions [M(mnt)(2)](n-) (M = Ni, Pd, Pt; mnt = 1,2-S(2)C(2)(CN)(2); n = 0-2) were examined by a combination of photodetachment photoelectron spectroscopy (PES) and density functional theory calculations. The combined experimental and theoretical data provide insight into the molecular orbital energy levels of [M(mnt)(2)](2-) and the ground and excited states of [M(mnt)(2)](1-) and [M(mnt)(2)]. Detachment features from ligand-based orbitals of [M(mnt)(2)](2-) occur at similar energies for each species, independent of the metal center, while those arising from metal-based orbitals occur at higher energies for the heavier congeners. Electronic excitation energies inferred for [M(mnt)(2)](1-) from the PES experiments agree well with those obtained in optical absorption experiments in solution, with the PES experiments providing additional insight into the changes in energy of these transitions as a function of metal. The singly charged anions [M(mnt)(2)](1-) were also prepared and studied independently. Electron detachment from the ground states of these doublet anions accessed the lowest singlet and triplet states of neutral [M(mnt)(2)], thereby providing a direct experimental measure of their singlet-triplet splitting.  相似文献

The adsorption of cyanide on the top site of a series of transition metal M(100) (M = Cu, Ag, Au, Ni, Pd, Pt) surfaces via carbon and nitrogen atoms respectively, with the CN axis perpendicular to the surface, has been studied by means of density functional theory and cluster model. Geometry, adsorption energy and vibrational frequencies have been determined, and the present calculations show that the adsorption of CN through C-end on metal surface is more favorable than that via N-end for the same surface. The vibrational frequencies of CN for C-down configuration on surface are blue-shifted with respect to the free CN, which is contrary to the change of vibrational frequencies when CN is adsorbed by N-down structure. Furthermore, the charge transfer from surface to CN causes the increase of surface work function.  相似文献

Kinetic studies, using stopped-flow spectrophotometry, on the reactions of [M(4)(SPh)(10)](2)(-) (M = Fe or Co) with PhS(-) to form [M(SPh)(4)](2)(-) are described, as are the reactions between [M(4)(SPh)(10)](2)(-) and [MoS(4)](2)(-) to form [S(2)MoS(2)Fe(SPh)(2)](2)(-) or [S(2)MoS(2)CoS(2)MoS(2)](2)(-). The kinetics of the reactions with PhS(-) are consistent with an initial associative substitution mechanism involving attack of PhS(-) at one of the tetrahedral M sites of [M(4)(SPh)(10)](2)(-) to form [M(4)(SPh)(11)](3)(-). Subsequent or concomitant cleavage of a micro-SPh ligand, at the same M, initiates a cascade of rapid reactions which result ultimately in the complete rupture of the cluster and formation of [M(SPh)(4)](2)(-). The kinetics of the reaction between [M(4)(SPh)(10)](2)(-) and [MoS(4)](2)(-) indicate an initial dissociative substitution mechanism at low concentrations of [MoS(4)](2)(-), in which rate-limiting dissociation of a terminal thiolate from [M(4)(SPh)(10)](2)(-) produces [M(4)(SPh)(9)](-) and the coordinatively unsaturated M site is rapidly attacked by a sulfido group of [MoS(4)](2)(-). It is proposed that subsequent chelation of the MoS(4) ligand results in cleavage of an M-micro-SPh bond, initiating a cascade of reactions which lead to the ultimate break-up of the cluster and formation of the products, [S(2)MoS(2)Fe(SPh)(2)](2)(-) or [S(2)MoS(2)CoS(2)MoS(2)](2)(-). With [Co(4)(SPh)(10)](2)(-), at higher concentrations of [MoS(4)](2)(-), a further substitution pathway is evident which exhibits a second order dependence on the concentration of [MoS(4)](2)(-). The mechanistic picture of cluster disruption which emerges from these studies rationalizes the "all or nothing" reactivity of [M(4)(SPh)(10)](2)(-).  相似文献

Summary Heterobimetallic complexes of the types [Cp2Ti(-EAr)2-M(dppe)] (ClO4)2 [(1)–(4); M, E = Ni, Te (1); Ni, Se (2); Pt, Te (3); Pt, Se (4); Ar = Ph (a), C6H4-4-Me (b), C6H4-4-OMe (c), C6H4-4-OEt (d)] and [Cp2Ti(-TeAr)2-MCl 2] [M = Pd (5), Pt (6)] were obtained by the reactions of Cp2Ti(EAr)2 with M(dppe)(ClO4)2 and M(PhCN)2Cl2, respectively. While (1), (5) and (6) are stable in the solid state as well as in solution, (2)–(4) undergo dissociation to M(dppe)(EAr)2 and Cp2Ti(ClO4)2 in solution, as shown by multinuclear (31P{1H},195Pt{1H}, 125Te{1H}) n.m.r. studies. The reaction of Cp2Ti(SeAr)2 with M(PhCN)2Cl2, however, leads to the formation of Cp2TiCl2 and a polymeric material [M(SeAr)2] n .  相似文献

Structural, spectroscopic properties on the dinuclear [M(2)(dcpm)(2)(CN)(4)] (M = Pt, 1a; Ni, 2a, dcpm = bis(dicyclohexylphosphino)methane) and [M(2)(dmpm)(2)(CN)(4)] (M = Pt, 1b; Ni, 2b, dmpm = bis(dimethylphosphino)methane) and the mononuclear trans-[M(PCy(3))(2)(CN)(2)] (M = Pt, 3; Ni, 4, PCy(3) = tricyclohexylphosphine) and theoretical investigations on the corresponding model compounds are described. X-ray structural analyses reveal Pt.Pt and Ni.Ni distances of 3.0565(4)/3.189(1) A and 2.957(1)/3.209(8) A for 1a/1b and 2a/2b, respectively. The UV-vis absorption bands at 337 nm (epsilon 2.41 x 10(4) dm(3) mol(-)(1) cm(-)(1)) for 1a and 328 nm (epsilon 2.43 x 10(4) dm(3) mol(-)(1) cm(-)(1)) for 1b in CH(2)Cl(2) are assigned to (1)(5d(sigma) --> 6p(sigma)) electronic transitions originating from Pt(II)-Pt(II) interactions. Resonance Raman spectroscopy of 1a, in which all the Raman intensity appears in the Pt-Pt stretch fundamental (93 cm(-)(1)) and overtone bands, verifies this metal-metal interaction. Complexes 1a and 1b exhibit photoluminescence in the solid state and solution. For the dinuclear nickel(II) complexes 2a and 2b, neither spectroscopic data nor theoretical calculation suggests the presence of Ni(II)-Ni(II) interactions. The intense absorption bands at lambda > 320 nm in the UV-vis spectra of 2a and 2b are tentatively assigned to d --> d transitions.  相似文献

Four members of the electron-transfer series [Fe(NO)(S(2)C(2)R(2))2]z (z = 1+, 0, 1-, 2-) have been isolated as solid materials (R = p-tolyl): [1a](BF4), [1a]0, [Co(Cp)2][1a], and [Co(Cp)2]2[1a]. In addition, complexes [2a]0 (R = 4,4-diphenyl), [3a]0 (R = p-methoxyphenyl), [Et(4)N][4a] (R = phenyl), and [PPh(4)][5a] (R = -CN) have been synthesized and the members of each of their electron-transfer series electrochemically generated in CH(2)Cl(2) solution. All species have been characterized electro- and magnetochemically. Their electronic, M?ssbauer, and electron paramagnetic resonance spectra as well as their infrared spectra have been recorded in order to elucidate the electronic structure of each member of the electron-transfer series. It is shown that the monocationic, neutral, and monoanionic species possess an {FeNO}6 (S = 0) moiety where the redox chemistry is sulfur ligand-based, (L)2-(L*)1-: [Fe(NO)(L*)2]+ (S = 0), [Fe(NO)(L*)(L)]0 <--> [Fe(NO)(L)(L*)]0 (S = 1/2), [Fe(NO)(L)2]- (S = 0). Further one-electron reduction generates a dianion with an {FeNO}7 (S = 1/2) unit and two fully reduced, diamagnetic dianions L2-: [Fe(NO)(L)2]2- (S = 1/2).  相似文献

Ethylenediamine (en) solutions of [eta(4)-P(7)M(CO)(3)](3)(-) ions [M = W (1a), Mo (1b)] react under one atmosphere of CO to form microcrystalline yellow powders of [eta(2)-P(7)M(CO)(4)](3)(-) complexes [M = W (4a), Mo (4b)]. Compounds 4 are unstable, losing CO to re-form 1, but are highly nucleophilic and basic. They are protonated with methanol in en solvent giving [eta(2)-HP(7)M(CO)(4)](2)(-) ions (5) and are alkylated with R(4)N(+) salts in en solutions to give [eta(2)-RP(7)M(CO)(4)](2)(-) complexes (6) in good yields (R = alkyl). Compounds 5 and 6 can also be prepared by carbonylations of the [eta(4)-HP(7)M(CO)(3)](2)(-) (3) and [eta(4)-RP(7)M(CO)(3)](2)(-) (2) precursors, respectively. The carbonylations of 1-3 to form 4-6 require a change from eta(4)- to eta(2)-coordination of the P(7) cages in order to maintain 18-electron configurations at the metal centers. Comparative protonation/deprotonation studies show 4 to be more basic than 1. The compounds were characterized by IR and (1)H, (13)C, and (31)P NMR spectroscopic studies and microanalysis where appropriate. The [K(2,2,2-crypt)](+) salts of 5 were characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction. For 5, the M-P bonds are very long (2.71(1) ?, average). The P(7)(3)(-) cages of 5 are not displaced by dppe. The P(7) cages in 4-6 have nortricyclane-like structures in contrast to the norbornadiene-type geometries observed for 1-3. (31)P NMR spectroscopic studies for 5-6 show C(1) symmetry in solution (seven inequivalent phosphorus nuclei), consistent with the structural studies for 5, and C(s)() symmetry for 4 (five phosphorus nuclei in a 2:2:1:1:1 ratio). Crystallographic data for [K(2,2,2-crypt)](2)[eta(2)-HP(7)W(CO)(4)].en: monoclinic, space group C2/c, a = 23.067(20) ?, b = 12.6931(13) ?, c = 21.433(2) ?, beta = 90.758(7) degrees, V = 6274.9(10) ?(3), Z = 4, R(F) = 0.0573, R(w)(F(2)) = 0.1409. Two enantiomers of [Bu(4)N](3)[Cu(3)(mnt)(3)] () formed by Na(2)(mnt) (mnt = maleonitriledithiolate, [S(2)C(2)(CN)(2)](2-)) and CuCl in a 1 : 1 molar ratio react further with MCl (M = Cu or Ag) involving both the enantiomers of to produce the larger complex, [Bu(4)N](4)[Cu(6)M(2)(mnt)(6)] (M = Cu (2), Ag (3)) from which the capped Cu(+) or Ag(+) ion can readily be removed by Bu(4)NX (X = Cl, Br), reverting or back to . Such reversal does not work with non-coordinating anions like BF(4)(-), ClO(4)(-) and PF(6)(-).  相似文献
