We consider the boundary value problem Δu+up=0 in a bounded, smooth domain Ω in R2 with homogeneous Dirichlet boundary condition and p a large exponent. We find topological conditions on Ω which ensure the existence of a positive solution up concentrating at exactly m points as p→∞. In particular, for a nonsimply connected domain such a solution exists for any given m?1. 相似文献

Let r,s∈]1,2[ and λ,μ∈]0,+∞[. In this paper, we deal with the existence and multiplicity of nonnegative and nonzero solutions of the Dirichlet problem with 0 boundary data for the semilinear elliptic equation −Δu=λus−1−ur−1 in Ω⊂RN, where N≥2. We prove that there exists a positive constant Λ such that the above problem has at least two solutions, at least one solution or no solution according to whether λ>Λ, λ=Λ or λ<Λ. In particular, a result by Hernandéz, Macebo and Vega is improved and, for the semilinear case, a result by Díaz and Hernandéz is partially extended to higher dimensions. Finally, an answer to a conjecture, recently stated by the author, is also given. 相似文献

The aim of the paper is to characterise sequences of domains for which solutions to an elliptic equation with Dirichlet boundary conditions converge to a solution of the corresponding problem on a limit domain. A functional is considered, whose Euler equation involves a nonlinearity without growth conditions. We consider the Dirichlet problem for a class of anisotropic degenerate elliptic equations. New a priori estimates for solutions and for the gradient of solutions are established. Based on these estimates sufficient conditions guaranteeing the solvability of the problem are formulated. We study compactness properties for solutions of a semilinear elliptic equation with critical nonlinearity. For high dimensions, we are able to show that any solutions sequence with uniformly bounded energy is uniformly bounded in the interior of the domain. In particular, singularly perturbed Neumann equations admit pointwise concentration phenomena only at the boundary. 相似文献

An existence result for semilinear elliptic problems whose associated functionals do not satisfy a Palais-Smale condition is proved. We consider the problem of finding positive solutions of Δu+λu+uq=0 in a bounded, smooth domain Ω in , under zero Dirichlet boundary conditions. Here q is a number close to the critical exponent 5 and 0<λ<λ1. We analyze the role of Green's function of Δ+λ in the presence of solutions exhibiting single and multiple bubbling behavior at one point of the domain when either q or λ are regarded as parameters. As a special case of our results, we find that if , where λ∗ is the Brezis-Nirenberg number, i.e., the smallest value of λ for which least energy solutions for q=5 exist, then this problem is solvable if q>5 and q−5 is sufficiently small. 相似文献

We consider a semilinear elliptic Dirichlet problem with jumping nonlinearity and, using variational methods, we show that the number of solutions tends to infinity as the number of jumped eigenvalues tends to infinity. In order to prove this fact, for every positive integer k we prove that, when a parameter is large enough, there exists a solution which presents k interior peaks. Dahlberg’s theorems on the mutual absolute continuity of harmonic and surface measures, and on the unique solvability of the Dirichlet problem for Laplace’s equation with data taken in Lp spaces p > 2 ? δ are extended to compact polyhedral domains of ?n. Consequently, for q < 2 + δ, Dahlberg’s reverse Hölder inequality for the density of harmonic measure is established for compact polyhedra that additionally satisfy the Harnack chain condition. It is proved that a compact polyhedral domain satisfies the Harnack chain condition if its boundary is a topological manifold. The double suspension of the Mazur manifold is invoked to indicate that perhaps such a polyhedron need not itself be a manifold with boundary; see the footnote in Section 9. A theorem on approximating compact polyhedra by Lipschitz domains in a certain weak sense is proved, along with other geometric lemmas. 相似文献
