Analytical results are derived for the effective dispersion of a passive scalar in a stochastic velocity field evolving in a fast time scale. These results are favorably compared with direct computer simulation of stochastic differential equations containing multiplicative space-time correlated noise.  相似文献

Social phenomena are affected by the structure of networks consisting of personal relationships. In the present paper, the diffusion of information among people is examined. In particular, the relationship between the network structure and the dynamics is studied. First, several networks are generated using the proposed network model and other network models, such as the WS model and the KE model. By changing the parameters of the network models, networks with different structures are generated. The parameters of the network models determine the topology of the networks and the statistical indicators.  相似文献

Backscattering of radar waves on the sea takes place even when there is no target. It appears as a noise which it is necessary to study in decision problems. Today, the model of a mixing of Gaussian for spectra seems widely agreed. In this paper, we show that it is equivalent to a mixing of monochromatic waves whose trajectories are time perturbed by Gaussian processes. In addition, this model explains linear variations of Doppler shifts and spectral widths with the emitted frequencies.  相似文献

In this paper, we introduce a model to describe knowledge accumulation through knowledge diffusion and knowledge upgrade in a multi-agent network. Here, knowledge diffusion refers to the distribution of existing knowledge in the network, while knowledge upgrade means the discovery of new knowledge. It is found that the population of the network and the number of each agent’s neighbors affect the speed of knowledge accumulation. Four different policies for updating the neighboring agents are thus proposed, and their influence on the speed of knowledge accumulation and the topology evolution of the network are also studied.  相似文献

In the literature of social networks, understanding topological structure is an important scientific issue. In this paper, we construct a network from mobile phone call records and use the cumulative number of calls as a measure of the weight of a social tie. We extract skeletons from the weighted social network on the basis of the weights of ties, and we study their properties. We find that strong ties can support the skeleton in the network by studying the percolation characters. We explore the centrality of ww-skeletons based on the correlation between some centrality measures and the skeleton index ww of a vertex, and we find that the average centrality of a ww-skeleton increases as ww increases. We also study the cumulative degree distribution of the successive ww-skeletons and find that as ww increases, the ww-skeleton tends to become more self-similar. Furthermore, fractal characteristics appear in higher ww-skeletons. We also explore the global information diffusion efficiency of ww-skeletons using simulations, from which we can see that the ties in the high ww-skeletons play important roles in information diffusion. Identifying such a simple structure of a ww-skeleton is a step forward toward understanding and representing the topological structure of weighted social networks.  相似文献

Over the past years, new technologies and specially online social networks have penetrated into the world’s population at an accelerated pace. In this paper we analyze collected data from the web application Twitter, in order to describe the structure and dynamics of the emergent social networks, based on complexity science. We focused on a Venezuelan protest that took place exclusively by Twitter during December, 2010. We found a community structure with highly connected hubs and three different kinds of user behavior that determine the information flow dynamics. We noticed that even though online social networks appear to be a pure social environment, traditional media still holds loads of influence inside the network.  相似文献

Based on the adaptive network, the feedback mechanism and interplay between the network topology and the diffusive process of information are studied. The results reveal that the adaptation of network topology can drive systems into the scale-free one with the assortative or disassortative degree correlations, and the hierarchical clustering. Meanwhile, the processes of the information diffusion are extremely speeded up by the adaptive changes of network topology.  相似文献

Asymptotic distributions of the Montroll-Weiss equation for the continuous-time random walk are investigated for long times. It is shown that, for a certain subclass of the hopping waiting time distributions belonging to the domain of attraction of stable distributions, these asymptotic distributions are of stable form. This indicates that the realm of applicability of the diffusion equation is limited. The Montroll-Weiss equation is rederived to include the influence of the initial waiting interval and the role of the stable distributions in physical problems is briefly discussed.  相似文献

Heterogeneity, as it occurs in porous media, is characterized in terms of a scaling exponent, or fractal dimension. A feature of primary interest for two-phase flow is the mixing length. This paper determines the relation between the scaling exponent for the heterogeneity and the scaling exponent which governs the mixing length. The analysis assumes a linear transport equation and uses random fields first in the characterization of the heterogeneity and second in the solution of the flow problem, in order to determine the mixing exponents. The scaling behavior changes from long-length-scale dominated to short-length-scale dominated at a critical value of the scaling exponent of the rock heterogeneity. The long-length-scale-dominated diffusion is anomalous.  相似文献

We investigate numerically the statistical properties of a model of modulated diffusion for which we have already computed analytically the diffusion coefficientD. Our model is constructed by adding a deterministic or random noise to the frequency of an integrable isochronous system. We consider in particular the central limit theorem and the invariance principle and we show that they follow wheneverD is positive and for any magnitude of the noise; we also investigate the asymptotic distribution in a case whenD=0.  相似文献

We perform a detailed study of the time evolution of the probability distribution for two processes displaying enhanced diffusion: a stochastic process named the Lévy walk and a deterministic chaotic process, the amplified climbing-sine map. We investigate the dynamics of the number of particles diffusing in a multiplicative medium. We show that the typical behaviour of the growth process is different from the average. We develop a new formalism to study the average growth process and extend it to the calculation of higher moments and finally of the probability distribution. We show that the fluctuations of the growth process increase exponentially with time. We describe the interesting features of the distribution.  相似文献

We propose and analyze a random graph model which explains a phenomena in the economic company network in which company may not expand its business at some time due to the limiting of money and capacity. The random graph process is defined as follows: at any time-step t, (i) with probability α(k) and independently of other time-step, each vertex is inactive which means it cannot be connected by more edges, where k is the degree of vi at the time-step t; (ii) a new vertex vt is added along with m edges incident with vt at one time and its neighbors are chosen in the manner of preferential attachment. We prove that the degree distribution P(k) of this random graph process satisfies if α(⋅) is a constant α0; and P(k)∝C2k−3 if α(?)0 as ?, where C1,C2 are two positive constants. The analytical result is found to be in good agreement with that obtained by numerical simulations. Furthermore, we get the degree distributions in this model with m-varying functions by simulation.  相似文献

Buzzword-based viral marketing, known also as digital word-of-mouth marketing, is a marketing mode attached to some carriers on the Internet, which can rapidly copy marketing information at a low cost. Viral marketing actually uses a pre-existing social network where, however, the scale of the pre-existing network is believed to be so large and so random, so that its theoretical analysis is intractable and unmanageable. There are very few reports in the literature on how to design a spreading scheme for viral marketing on real social networks according to the traditional marketing theory or the relatively new network marketing theory. Complex network theory provides a new model for the study of large-scale complex systems, using the latest developments of graph theory and computing techniques. From this perspective, the present paper extends the complex network theory and modeling into the research of general viral marketing and develops a specific spreading scheme for viral marking and an approach to design the scheme based on a real complex network on the QQ instant messaging system. This approach is shown to be rather universal and can be further extended to the design of various spreading schemes for viral marketing based on different instant messaging systems.  相似文献

The scale-free degree distribution and community structure are two significant properties shared by numerous complex networks. In this paper, we investigate the impact of these properties on a stochastic SIR epidemic which incorporates the stochastic nature of epidemic spreading. A two-type branching process is employed to approximate the early stage of epidemic spreading. The basic reproduction number R0R0 is obtained. And the influences of scale-free property and community structure on R0R0 are analyzed by numerical simulations.  相似文献
