A question of Yves Meyer motivated the research concerning “time” subordinations of real functions. Denote by B1a{\mathcal {B}}_{1}^{\alpha} the metric space of functions with Lipschitz constant 1 defined on [0,1], equipped with the complete metric defined via the supremum norm. Given a function g ? B1ag\in {\mathcal {B}}_{1}^{\alpha} one obtains a time subordination of g simply by considering the composite function Z=gf, where f∈ℳ:={f:f(0)=0, f(1)=1 and f is a continuous nondecreasing function on [0,1]}. The metric space Ea=M×B1a\mathcal {E}^{\alpha}=\mathcal {M}\times {\mathcal {B}}_{1}^{\alpha} equipped with the product supremum metric is a complete metric space. In this paper for all α∈[0,1) multifractal properties of gf are investigated for a generic (typical) element (f,g)∈ℰ α . In particular we determine the generic H?lder singularity spectrum of gf.  相似文献

Letg be a positive continuous function onR which tends to zero at −∞ and which is not integrable overR. The boundary-value problem −u″+g(u)=f, u′(±∞)=0, is considered forfL 1(R). We show that this problem can have a solution if and only ifg is integrable at −∞ and if this is so then the problem is solvable precisely when ∫ −∞ . Some extensions of this result are also given. Let ϕ be a Dubins-Freedman random homeomorphism on [0, 1] derived from the base measure uniform on {x=1/2}, and letf be a periodic function satisfying |f(δ)−f(0)|=o(log log log 1/δ)−1. Then the Fourier expansion off o ϕ converges at 0 with probability 1. In the condition onf, o cannot be replaced byO. Also we deduce some 0–1 laws for this kind of problem. A non-oscillating Paley-Wiener function is a real entire functionf of exponential type belonging toL 2(R) and such that each derivativef (n),n=0, 1, 2,…, has only a finite number of real zeros. It is established that the class of such functions is non-empty and contains functions of arbitrarily fast decay onR allowed by the convergence of the logarithmic integral. It is shown that the Fourier transform of a non-oscillating Paley-Wiener function must be infinitely differentiable outside the origin. We also give close to best possible asymptotic (asn→∞) estimates of the number of real zeros of then-th derivative of a functionf of the class and the size of the smallest interval containing these zeros.  相似文献

For functions onS d−1 (the unit sphere inR d) and, in particular, forfL p(S d−1), we define new simple moduli of smoothness. We relate different orders of these moduli, and we also relate these moduli to best approximation by spherical harmonics of order smaller thann. Let R = ⊕ i=0 R i be a connected graded commutative algebra over the field ℚ of rational numbers, and let f be a graded endomorphism of R. In this paper, we show that the Lefschetz series of f can be computed directly from the induced linear map Q(f) on the ℚ vector space of indecomposables of R. We give an explicit algorithm to compute the Lefschetz series of f from Q(f). The main tool we used is the graded algebra version of Gr?bner basis theory. The existence of positive radial solutions of the equation -din( |Du|p-2Du)=f(u) is studied in annular domains in Rn,n≥2. It is proved that if f(0)≥0, f is somewherenegative in (0,∞), limu→0^ f‘ (u)=0 and limu→∞ (f(u)/u^p-1)=∞, then there is alarge positive radial solution on all annuli. If f(0)≤0 and satisfies certain conditions, then the equation has no radial solution if the annuli are too wide.  相似文献

By making full use of the estimates of solutions to nonstationary Stokes equations and the method discussing global stability, we establish the global existence theorem of strong solutions for Navier-Stokes equatios in arbitrary three dimensional domain with uniformlyC 3 boundary, under the assumption that |a| L 2(Θ) + |f| L 1(0,∞;L 2(Θ)) or |∇a| L 2(Θ) + |f| L 2(0,∞;L 2(Θ)) small or viscosityv large. Herea is a given initial velocity andf is the external force. This improves on the previous results. Moreover, the solvability of the case with nonhomogeneous boundary conditions is also discussed. We prove the following theorem. Assume fL (R 2) with bounded support. If f is continuous at some point (x 1,x 2) ∈ R 2, then the double Fourier integral of f is strongly q-Cesàro summable at (x 1,x 2) to the function value f(x 1,x 2) for every 0 < q < ∞. Furthermore, if f is continuous on some open subset of R 2, then the strong q-Cesàro summability of the double Fourier integral of f is locally uniform on . The object of this paper is to discuss certain methods for studying almost everywhere convergence problems. We consider the generalization of the Riesz-Raikov theorem where the dilation numberϑ>1 is not necessarily an integer. It is known (see [B2]) that the averages (1/N1 N f(ϑ n x) converge a.e. to ∝ 0 1 fdx wheneverϑ is algebraic andf a 1-periodic function onR satisfying ∝ 0 1 |f(x)|2 dx<∞. Here the particular case of rational dilation is treated. The reader is referred to [B2] for the general (algebraic) case. The following definitive relation between a.e. convergence and algebraic numbers is proved. Let {μ j} be the sequence of measures converging weak* to the natural measureμ on the Cantor set of dissection ratioϑ. Thenf*μ jf*μ a.e. for allL (T) functions iffϑ is algebraic. This fact depends on [B3] and a variant of Rota’s theorem [Ro] on a.e. convergence of certain compositions of operators. Further applications of this result in ergodic theory are presented in the last section of the paper. In section 4, a.e. convergence of Riemann sums of periodicL 2-functions is investigated. It is shown that almost surelyR n f has a logarithmic density, where . This result complements the work of R. Salem on the subject.  相似文献

If Μ is absolutely continuous with respect to Lebesgue measuredy onS n, i.e.,dΜ(y) =f(y)dy, we write(F f)(x) = ∫ x.y> 0 f(y)dy and consider the following cases: (a)fC (Sn); (b)f ∃ Lp(S n), 1 ≤ p < ∞; and (c)fC(Sn). In the case (a), our inversion formulas involve a certain polynomial of the Laplace-Beltrami operator. In the remaining cases, the relevant wavelet transforms are employed. The range ofF is characterized and the action in the scale of Sobolev spacesL p γ (Sn) is studied. For zonalf ∃ L1(S 2), the hemispherical transformF f was inverted explicitly by P. Funk (1916); we reproduce his argument in higher dimensions. Given a map f: XY and a Nielsen root class, there is a number associated to this root class, which is the minimal number of points among all root classes which are H-related to the given one for all homotopies H of the map f. We show that for maps between closed surfaces it is possible to deform f such that all the Nielsen root classes have cardinality equal to the minimal number if and only if either N R[f]≤1, or N R[f]>1 and f satisfies the Wecken property. Here N R[f] denotes the Nielsen root number. The condition “f satisfies the Wecken property is known to be equivalent to |deg(f)|≤N R[f]/(1−χ(M 2)−χ(M 10/(1−χ(M 2)) for maps between closed orientable surfaces. In the case of nonorientable surfaces the condition is A(f)≤N R[f]/(1−χ(M 2)−χ(M 2)/(1−χ(M 2)). Also we construct, for each integer n≥3, an example of a map f: K n N from an n-dimensionally connected complex of dimension n to an n-dimensional manifold such that we cannot deform f in a way that all the Nielsen root classes reach the minimal number of points at the same time.  相似文献
