We discuss the existence of global or periodic solutions to the nonlinear wave equation with the boundary condition , where Ω is a bounded domain in RN,ρ(x,v) is a function like ρ(x,v)=a(x)g(v) with g′(v)?0 and β(x,u) is a source term of power nonlinearity. a(x) is assumed to be positive only in a neighborhood of a part of the boundary ∂Ω and the stability property is very delicate, which makes the problem interesting.  相似文献

We consider a hyperbolic-parabolic singular perturbation problem for a quasilinear equation of Kirchhoff type, and obtain parameter-dependent time decay estimates of the difference between the solutions of a quasilinear dissipative hyperbolic equation of Kirchhoff type and the corresponding quasilinear parabolic equation. For this purpose we show time decay estimates for hyperbolic-parabolic singular perturbation problem for linear equations with a time-dependent coefficient.  相似文献

We consider the hyperbolic-parabolic singular perturbation problem for a degenerate quasilinear Kirchhoff equation with weak dissipation. This means that the coefficient of the dissipative term tends to zero when t→+∞.We prove that the hyperbolic problem has a unique global solution for suitable values of the parameters. We also prove that the solution decays to zero, as t→+∞, with the same rate of the solution of the limit problem of parabolic type.  相似文献

One of the features of solutions of semilinear wave equations can be found in blow-up results for non-compactly supported data. In spite of finite propagation speed of the linear wave, we have no global in time solution for any power nonlinearity if the spatial decay of the initial data is weak. This was first observed by Asakura (1986) [2] finding out a critical decay to ensure the global existence of the solution. But the blow-up result is available only for zero initial position having positive speed. In this paper the blow-up theorem for non-zero initial position by Uesaka (2009) [22] is extended to higher-dimensional case. And the assumption on the nonlinear term is relaxed to include an example, |u|p−1u. Moreover the critical decay of the initial position is clarified by example.  相似文献

We consider the existence of global solutions of the quasilinear wave equation with a boundary dissipation structure of an input-output in high dimensions when initial data and boundary inputs are near a given equilibrium of the system. Our main tool is the geometrical analysis. The main interest is to study the effect of the boundary dissipation structure on solutions of the quasilinear system. We show that the existence of global solutions depends not only on this dissipation structure but also on a Riemannian metric, given by the coefficients and the equilibrium of the system. Some geometrical conditions on this Riemannian metric are presented to guarantee the existence of global solutions. In particular, we prove that the norm of the state of the system decays exponentially if the input stops after a finite time, which implies the exponential stabilization of the system by boundary feedback.  相似文献

We investigate the existence of local solutions of the following coupled system of Kirchhoff equations subject to nonlinear dissipation on the boundary: (∗) Here {Γ0,Γ1} is an appropriate partition of the boundary Γ of Ω and ν(x), the outer unit normal vector at xΓ1.By applying the Galerkin method with a special basis for the space where lie the approximations of the initial data, we obtain local solutions of the initial-boundary value problem for (∗).  相似文献

Under general assumption, we prove that the smooth solution to reducible quasilinear hyperbolic system with periodic initial data in general develop singularities in finite time, provided that the total variation on one period of the initial data is small.  相似文献

In this paper, we are concerned with the global singularity structures of weak solutions to 4-D semilinear dispersive wave equations whose initial data are chosen to be discontinuous on the unit sphere. Combining Strichartz's inequality with the commutator argument techniques, we show that the weak solutions are C2−regular away from the focusing cone surface |x|=|t−1| and the outgoing cone surface |x|=t+1. This research was supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the Doctoral Foundation of NEM of China.  相似文献

We study the global singularity structure of solutions to 3-D semilinear wave equations with discontinuous initial data. More precisely, using Strichartz’ inequality we show that the solutions stay conormal after nonlinear interaction if the Cauchy data are conormal along a circle.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with a system of variational wave equations which is the Euler–Lagrange equations of a variational principle arising in the theory of nematic liquid crystals and a few other physical contexts. The global existence of an energy-conservative weak solution to its Cauchy problem for initial data of finite energy is established by using the method of energy-dependent coordinates and the Young measure theory.  相似文献

We consider the initial (boundary) value problem for the Kirchhoff equations in exterior domains or in the whole space of dimension three, and show that these problems admit time-global solutions, provided the norms of the initial data in the usual Sobolev spaces of appropriate order are sufficiently small. We obtain uniform estimates of the L1(R) norms with respect to time variable at each point in the domain, of solutions of initial (boundary) value problem for the linear wave equations. We then show that the estimates above yield the unique global solvability for the Kirchhoff equations.  相似文献

In the present paper, for wave equations with power nonlinearity we investigate the problem of the existence or nonexistence of global solutions of a multidimensional version of the first Darboux problem in the conic domain.  相似文献

We consider a class of semilinear wave equations with a small parameter and nonlinearities such that the equations have exact kink-type solutions. The main result consists in obtaining sufficient conditions for the nonlinearities under which the interaction of kinks preserves the sine-Gordon scenario. This means that the interaction occurs without changing the waves shape and with shifts of trajectories.  相似文献
