A new double-sided laser heating system optimized for monochromatic X-ray diffraction at high pressure and high temperature has been developed at beamline ID27 of the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility (ESRF). The main components of this system including optimized focusing optics to produce a large and homogenous heated area, optimized mirror optics for temperature measurements and a state-of-the-art diffraction setup are described in details. Preliminary data collected at high pressure and high temperature on tungsten and iron are presented.  相似文献

An experimental system for X-ray magnetic diffraction (XMD) under extreme conditions was constructed on the beamline BL39XU at SPring-8. This system aims at studying magnetic properties of ferromagnets through the measurements of magnetic form factors under the conditions of low temperature (5 K), high magnetic field (6 T) and high pressure (10 GPa). This system consists of a superconducting magnet (SCM), a diamond anvil cell (DAC), a two-axis manipulator for the DAC, a five-axis goniometer for the SCM, and an X-ray polarizer with a phase plate. Details of this system are presented. Experimental results on uranium telluride are shown as a performance test with this instrumentation.  相似文献

Metal-semiconductor multilayers are interesting, artificial structures as prospective candidates for spin injection devices. A Fe–Ge multilayer sample with very thin individual layers (few crystallographic planes) has been deposited by sputtering on Si[1 0 0] substrate. We have characterized the structure of this multilayer sample using X-ray diffraction, X-ray reflectometry and neutron reflectometry. The magnetic moment density in the ferromagnetic Fe layer has been obtained by polarized neutron reflectometry and the bulk magnetic behavior of the thin film by SQUID magnetometer measurements. We found that the film is a soft ferromagnet at room temperature with a substantially reduced magnetic moment of the Fe atoms.  相似文献

采用同步辐射能量色散X射线衍射技术和金刚石对顶砧高压装置,对晶粒尺寸分别为13,49,100nm的Ge进行了原位高压X射线衍射实验,最高压力为35GPa. 所得的体弹性模量分别为112,92,88GPa. 可以看出 随着晶粒尺寸的减小,其体弹性模量逐渐升高. 同时由立方金刚石结构转变为四方白锡结构的相变压力亦随之提高,其值分别为16.4,12.4,11.5GPa. 建立了一个描述晶粒尺寸与体弹性模量关系的模型,并用理论公式计算了相变压力随晶粒尺寸的变化. 尽管在数值上存在一定的误差,但理论计算结果成功预示了随着晶粒尺寸的减小,体弹性模量和相变压力增加的趋势,与实验结果相一致.  相似文献

Abstract

A synchrotron X-ray diffraction study on MgO has been done at simultaneous high pressure and temperature. The lattice parameter of MgO has been measured up to a static pressure of 6 GPa and a temperature of 1273 K, using a large volume pressure cell and energy-dispersive synchrotron X-ray powder diffraction. The compression was made following six high-temperature isotherms. A Vinet equation of state was used to fit the experimental P-V-T data. The Vinet's model compares very well with the experimental data above the Debye temperature (760 K) and allows the use of MgO as an alternative internal pressure calibrant for experiments at high temperature.  相似文献

 采用同步辐射X光源和能散法,对CsBr粉末样品进行高压原位X光衍射实验。由金刚石对顶压砧高压装置(DAC)产生高压,用已知状态方程的Pt粉末作内标,由Pt的衍射数据确定样品压力,最高压力达64.4 GPa。实验结果表明:室温常压下原始CsBr样品是具有简单立方结构的晶体,其晶格常数α=0.428 5 nm。高压下CsBr的结构有所变化,在51.3~58.4 GPa的压力范围内,(110)线和(211)线发生劈裂,从而形成了四方相。  相似文献

We report about recent X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS) measurements on solid and liquid AgI under high pressure. The structural behaviour of AgI has been investigated to pressures P~4.3 GPa at room temperature and to P~1.8 GPa at 1100 K. The high temperature/high pressure conditions have been obtained by means of a large-volume press of the Paris-Edinburgh type, coupled with a 10 mm boron/epoxy biconical gasket. The absorption spectra have been collected in transmission mode, both at the K-edge of Ag and I, and the samples have been characterized in situ by energy scanning X-ray diffraction at fixed angles. Our XAS results for solid AgI are compatible with previous X-ray diffraction measurements. For liquid AgI, we observe a slight change in the intensity and a shift in the frequency of the XAS oscillations with respect to what obtained in the case of the ambient pressure liquid.  相似文献

Elastic properties of single crystalline germanium have been determined up to 6 GPa. All three elastic constants and their pressure derivative have been obtained by transit time measurements in a large volume cell. Comparison with previously published data fully validate the proposed set-up. The design of this set-up allows simultaneous in situ ultrasonic and X-ray diffraction measurements.  相似文献

We have performed X-ray absorption (XAS) and diffraction (XRD) measurements at high pressure on samples of powdered InAs, up to 50 and 80 GPa, respectively. In the lower pressure range, our data are consistent with the following structural sequence: Zincblende M NaCl M Cmcm . The first order transition from the semiconducting Zincblende phase to the metallic NaCl phase is clearly seen by the shift in the absorption onset at the As K-edge and the strong modifications of the extended X-ray absorption fine structure (EXAFS) due to the changes in the local structure from a 4-fold to a 6-fold coordinated environment. XAS shows the high pressure phase to be locally site-ordered. The diffraction data, analized by Rietveld fitting, gives a volume discontinuity of j V/V 0 ~0.18 for the first order transition. There is no apparent volume discontinuity associated to the NaCl M Cmcm transition.  相似文献

In situ high-energy X-ray diffraction measurements were made for the first time on a water-saturated silicate melt at high pressure and temperature. A modified hydrothermal diamond anvil cell (HDAC), designed to minimize the path length of the X-ray beam within a diamond anvil and to increase the solid angle of the diffracted beam, was used to reduce high background contributions and extend X-ray diffraction data collection in Q space. Quantitative differential pair distribution function (PDF) analysis of X-ray diffraction data show that the first measurable (Si–O) peak is 0.095 Å greater in length in the hydrous melt than in the starting glass. Contributions from the H2O O–O correlations, as well as from the second nearest neighbor O–O correlations within the silicate melt, are evident within the second peak of the differential PDF. The procedure described opens new opportunities to directly investigate volatile-rich melts at high pressure and temperature.  相似文献

The high-pressure melting behavior of different iron alloys was investigated using the classical synchrotron-based in situ X-ray diffraction techniques. As they offer specific advantages and disadvantages, both energy-dispersive (EDX) and angle-dispersive (ADX) X-ray diffraction methods were performed at the BL04B1 beamline of SPring8 (Japan) and at the ID27-30 beamline of the ESRF (France), respectively. High-pressure vessels and pressure ranges investigated include the Paris–Edinburgh press from 2 to 17 GPa, the SPEED-1500 multi-anvil press from 10 to 27 GPa, and the laser-heated diamond anvil cell from 15 to 60 GPa. The onset of melting (at the solidus or eutectic temperature) can be easily detected using EDX because the grains start to rotate relative to the X-ray beam, which provokes rapid and drastic changes with time of the peak growth rate. Then, the degree of melting can be determined, using both EDX and ADX, from the intensity of diffuse X-ray scattering characteristic of the liquid phase. This diffuse contribution can be easily differentiated from the Compton diffusion of the pressure medium because they have different shapes in the diffraction patterns. Information about the composition and/or about the structure of the liquid phase can then be extracted from the shape of the diffuse X-ray scattering.  相似文献

We have investigated high-pressure structural properties and ab-initio band structure calculations of the ternary CuGaS 2 by single crystal X-ray diffraction up to 8 GPa. The single crystal X-ray diffraction experiments were performed in a Merrill-Bassett diamond anvil cell. The analysis of the X-ray data makes possible the accurate determination of the atomic position of the unit cell under pressure. The structural parameter u and the Cu-S and Ga-S bond lengths have been deduced. The results of the electronics band structure calculation using a first-principles pseudo-potential method and the local density approximation (LDA) are reported. The pressure derivatives of the energy gap are calculated and the values are in reasonable good agreement with the experimental ones.  相似文献

利用透射电子显微镜(TEM)对有化合物生成(Pd2Ge和PdGe等)的Pd,Ge薄膜体系中的分形晶化行为进行了系统研究实验结果和分析表明:在各种退火温度条件下,Pd-Ge共蒸膜都难以发生分形晶化,Pd/a-Ge双层膜较a-Ge/Pd双层膜更容易导致分形结构的产生Z化合物Pd2Ge和PdGe的形成对薄膜中的分形晶化有明显的抑制作用,体系中能否出现分形结构,取决于非晶Ge的成核生长和Pd,Ge化学反应两种过程的相互竟争. 关键词:  相似文献

 采用DAC高压X光技术,在320 GPa压力下,对碘进行了结构相变的研究。用耐腐蚀材料Mo作封垫,在室温和无保护气氛下装样。采用Mo内标和红宝石荧光测量进行压力校准。结果表明,在21 GPa时,开始发生结构相变,由面心正交相(Ⅰ相),转变为体心正交相(Ⅱ相),体积缩小2%左右。在21~25 GPa之间为两相共存区;在25 GPa以上完全转变为新的高压单相(Ⅱ相)。此相变为可逆相变。  相似文献

利用同步辐射角散X射线衍射技术测量了室温条件下0---0.74 GPa 压力范围内Ce的等温压缩线.发现γ-Ce的室温等温压缩线呈外凸形, 这是由其纵波声子模软化所致.利用超声测量得到的体弹性模量随压力变化的规律, 对实验所得到的压力与体积数据, 用二阶和三阶Murnaghan 方程、 二阶和三阶Birch 方程、 三阶Xu方程以及二阶Vinet方程进行比较, 并且对这些状态方程得到的体弹性模量随压力的变化规律与超声实验的结果相对比, 发现三阶Murnaghan 方程和三阶Xu方程对γ-Ce最适用.  相似文献

The metal-induced lateral crystallization (MILC) of an amorphous Ge (a-Ge) thin film using Ni nanoparticles (NPs) was investigated. Ni-NPs were formed and evenly distributed onto a 30 nm thick a-Ge film by cage-shaped protein. After complete elimination of protein shell, crystal growth was performed at 400 °C. Raman spectra and electron backscatter diffraction (EBSD) studies revealed that a poly-Ge film with a maximum grain size approximately 1 μm was successfully formed. The Ni contamination in the poly-Ge film was reduced by more than one order of magnitude compared with that in the case of a conventional MILC process.  相似文献

The process of oxide removal in crystalline Ge using a pulsed ultraviolet laser has been studied by means of real-time reflectivity measurements with nanosecond resolution. The interaction of laser radiation with a clean, oxide-free surface has been characterized and the inhomogeneous and homogeneous energy density melting thresholds of c-Ge for 193 nm radiation have been determined. The values are 180 and 370 mJ/cm2, respectively. We have demonstrated that it is possible to remove an oxide overlayer by irradiation in vacuum and to produce a surface that shows the same response to laser radiation as a smooth, oxide-free, chemically cleaned surface. Under certain specific irradiation conditions it is even possible, after removing the oxide overlayer, to produce an enhanced crystalline quality in the near-surface region compared to that obtained upon chemical cleaning as evidenced by Rutherford backscattering/channeling measurements.  相似文献

 采用同步辐射能量色散X射线衍射技术、激光加热技术和金刚石对顶砧(DAC)高压装置,在温度为2 000 K和压力为23 GPa的范围内,对采自地幔二辉橄榄岩中的顽火斜方辉石,进行了原位的高温高压能量色散X射线衍射(EDXRD)测量。实验结果表明:当压力为15.3 GPa、温度为1 600 K时(相当于地球内部410 km处的地震波不连续界面的温压环境),顽火斜方辉石转变为橄榄石的β相——瓦兹利石(Wadsleyite)相;继续加温加压至2 000 K、23 GPa时(相当于地球内部670 km处的地震波不连续界面的温压环境),顽火斜方辉石相变为钛铁矿(Ilmenite)结构和钙钛矿(Perovskite)结构的混和相。实验结果进一步证明,在地幔中存在的两个地震波不连续界面是由橄榄石、顽火斜方辉石等矿物的相变引起的。  相似文献

We present examples of the application of synchrotron-based spectroscopies and microscopies to environmentally relevant samples. The experiments were performed at the molecular environmental science beamline (11.0.2) at the Advanced Light Source, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. Examples range from the study of water monolayers on Pt(1 1 1) single crystal surfaces using X-ray emission spectroscopy and the examination of alkali halide solution/water vapor interfaces using ambient pressure photoemission spectroscopy, to the investigation of actinides, river water biofilms, Al-containing colloids and mineral–bacteria suspensions using scanning transmission X-ray spectromicroscopy. The results of our experiments show that spectroscopy and microscopy in the soft X-ray energy range are excellent tools for the investigation of environmentally relevant samples under realistic conditions, i.e., with water or water vapor present at ambient temperature.  相似文献

本文对Ge/An,Ge/Ag,双层膜和Ge-An,Ge-Ag合金膜的退火过程进行了透射电子显微镜观测,对Ge/多晶Au(或Ag)还进行了加热过程的原位观测。观测表明,多晶Au和单晶Au膜的存在使非晶Ge的晶化温度Tc的下降显著不同,可由晶界三叉点等处为非晶Ge的有利形核位置来解释,双层膜的缩聚区中由于局域优先晶化的影响,不仅Tc(=100℃)比非缩聚区中(Tc=150℃)低,而且形成直径为1—2μm的Ge大晶粒,而Ge/多晶Ag和Ge/单晶Ag膜的Tc均约为280℃,合金膜中金属含量较低时(CAu<17at%,CAg<18at%),Tc高于相应的Ge/多晶Au(Ag)膜;金属含量较高时,Tc低于Ge/多晶Au(Ag)膜。这说明过饱和金属原子的存在使得非晶Ge的晶化势垒大大降低。 关键词:  相似文献
