On the basis of the shell model for the electron distribution in an atom, analytic expressions and approximations are constructed for relativistic Hartree-Fock atomic form factors. The proposed approach ensures a precision that is two to three times higher than that of approximations based on existing models. In stellar environments the medium modifications of the neutron capture cross-sections required for s-process nucleosynthesis simulations are accounted for by the stellar enhancement factors. We have calculated these enhancement factors using the statistical model for compound reactions. Improving previous calculations we take the parity distribution of states at all stages of the reaction into account by using parity-dependent level densities. The effect of this improvement on the stellar enhancement factors is small, although not negligible if one attempts to describe the stellar capture rates with an accuracy of order 10%. We observe, however, that the uncertainties introduced by the insufficient knowledge of the total level densities are noticeably larger.  相似文献

The ability to localize, identify, and measure the electronic environment of individual atoms will provide fundamental insights into many issues in materials science, physics, and nanotechnology. We demonstrate, using an aberration-corrected scanning transmission electron microscope, the spectroscopic imaging of single La atoms inside CaTiO3. Dynamical simulations confirm that the spectroscopic information is spatially confined around the scattering atom. Furthermore, we show how the depth of the atom within the crystal may be estimated.  相似文献

The equation of state of baryon-rich quark matter is studied within the SU(3) Nambu-Jona-Lasinio model with flavor-mixing interaction. Possible bound states (strangelets) and chiral phase transitions in this matter are investigated at various values of the strangeness fraction r s. Model predictions are very sensitive to the ratio of the vector and scalar coupling constants, ξ=G V/G S. At ξ=0.5 and zero temperature, the binding energy takes a maximum value of about 15 MeV per baryon at r s?0.4. Such strangelets are negatively charged and have typical lifetimes of about 10?7s. Calculations are performed at finite temperatures as well. According to these calculations, bound states exist up to temperatures of about 15 MeV. The model predicts a first-order chiral phase transition at finite baryon densities. The parameters of this phase transition are calculated as functions of r s.  相似文献

The leading-twist pion-distribution amplitude is obtained at a low normalization scale of order ρ c (inverse average size of an instanton). Pion dynamics, consistent with gauge invariance and low-energy theorems, is considered within the instanton vacuum model. The results are QCD-evolved to higher momentum-transfer values and are in agreement with recent data from CLEO on the pion transition form factor. It is also shown that some previous calculations violate the axial Ward-Takahashi identity.  相似文献

The cold cluster decay model is presented in the framework of a dinuclear system concept. Spectroscopic factors are extracted from barrier penetrabilities and measured half-lives. The deformation of the light cluster and residual nucleus is shown to affect the nucleus-nucleus potential and decay characteristics. Half-lives are predicted for neutron-deficient actinides and intermediate-mass nuclei. The connection between spontaneous fission and cluster radioactivity is discussed.  相似文献

We present new, model-independent analyses of the observables in low-energy neutral-current experiments in the neutrino-hadron, neutrino-electron, electron/muon-hadron and electron- muon/tau sectors. We combine them with the latest experimental measurements of the W and Z masses to make global fits in the context of the standard model and of superstring-inspired models. We find in the standard model that sin 2θ w = 0.228 ± 0.004 if ϱ is fixed to be 1, whilst a two parameter fit yields sin 2θ w = 0.229 ± 0.006 and ϱ = 1.001 ± 0.007. This new value of sin 2θ w for ϱ = 1 lies uncomfortably outside the predicted region of the minimal SU(5) model, but is consistent with supersymmetric SU(5) models. In the minimal standard model with ϱ = 1 and equal Higgs and Z masses we find that mt<168 GeV at the 90% confidence level. We establish lower bounds on the masses of additional neutral gauge bosons Z′ in three superstring-inspired models and upper limits on their mixing with the standard model Z 0. In particular, we find that mZ′129 GeV at the 90% confidence level in a minimal rank-5 superstring-inspired model with canonical Higgs structure.  相似文献

The structure of a field theoretical many-body problem is studied within the (non-static) Lee model. The explicit solvability of the renormalization problem allows the investigation of renormalization corrections in many-particle systems. Herefore, the renormalized equations are worked out for the N-V scattering and for the binding-energy problem of “N-V matter” — these cases taken in analogy to nucleon-nucleon scattering and nuclear matter. The N-V matter equations are obtained from a cluster expansion suitably defined for the field theoretical case. The ansatz for the correlated wave functions is chosen in such a way as to generate a two-hole-line expansion of the binding energy. The renormalized form of this field theoretical extension of Brueckner theory is discussed in detail revealing the medium effects on renormalization.  相似文献

The dinuclear system model considers a configuration of two touching nuclei which exchange nucleons. The microscopical justification of the model is presented. The fusion and quasifission processes are described in the reactions of synthesis of heavy and superheavy nuclei. The dependence of evaporation residue cross sections on isotopic composition of colliding nuclei is analyzed. The results agree with the available experimental data.  相似文献
