In this paper we establish two results concerning algebraic (,+)-actions on n . First, let be an algebraic (,+)-action on 3. By a result of Miyanishi, its ring of invariants is isomorphic to [t 1,t 2]. Iff 1,f 2 generate this ring, the quotient map of is the mapF:32,x(f 1(x), f2(x)). By using some topological arguments we prove thatF is always surjective. Secon, we are interested in dominant polynomial mapsF: n n-1 whose connected components of their generic fibers are contractible. For such maps, we prove the existence of an algebraic (,+)-action on n for whichF is invariant. Moreover we give some conditions so thatF*([t 1,...,t n-1 ]) is the ring of invariants of .Dedicated to all my friends and my family  相似文献

The ordered K0-group of the universal, unital free product C*-algebra Mk()*Ml()is calculated in the case where k is prime and not a divisor in l. It is shown that the positive cone of K0(Mk()*Ml())is as small as possible in this case. The article also contains results (full and partial) on the ordered K00-group of more general universal, unital free product C* algebras.  相似文献

We adapt here the results of the author concerning polynomial operations on the 0th stable cohomotopy to the case of the 0th complex K-theory and consider polynomial operations : Kh, where h is a ring-valued contravariant functor, defined on finite CW-complexes, satisfying some properties. We construct a family of generating operations for the ring Pol(K,h) of all polynomial operations : Kh and doing so, we describe the additive structure of this ring in terms of the h(BU(n)'s. As an illustration of how polynomiality could be used to study operations in the setting of algebraic K-theory, we consider, from our point of view, the well known situation operations : KK on complex K-theory.  相似文献

We completely classify all the twistor holomorphic Lagrangian immersions in the complex projective plane 2, i.e. those Lagrangian immersions such that their twistor lifts to the twistor space over 2 are holomorphic. This classification provides a one-parameter family of examples of Lagrangian spheres in 2.Research partially supported by a DGICYT grant No. PB91-0731.  相似文献

It is known that for every finite subgroup G of SL(2,), the invariant subring [X,Y]G is a hyper-surface. In this note we treat finite subgroups of SL(3,) and give complete classification of the finite subgroups of SL(3,) whose invariant subrings are complete intersections.  相似文献

Summary Given a complex polynomialp we determine a functionf p : such that |p(f p (z))||p(z)|,z withk<1. This result is used to introduce a global root-finding algorithm for polynomials.  相似文献

If X is a smooth curve defined over the real numbers , we show that K n (X) is the sum of a divisible group and a finite elementary Abelian 2-group when n 2. We determine the torsion subgroup of K n (X), which is a finite sum of copies of and 2, only depending on the topological invariants of X() and X(), and show that (for n 2) these torsion subgroups are periodic of order 8.  相似文献

On a smooth algebraic complex varietyX, we show that the classes of a flat bundle, which is trivialized on a finite cover ofX, with values in the odd-dimensional cohomology of the underlying complex manifold with / (i), are living in the bottom part of Grothendieck's coniveau filtration. This answers positively when the basis is smooth complex a question of Bruno Kahn [K-Theory (1992), conjecture 2].  相似文献

We show that the bi-Lipschitz equivalence of analytic function germs (2, 0)(, 0) admits continuous moduli. More precisely, we propose an invariant of the bi-Lipschitz equivalence of such germs that varies continuously in many analytic families f t : (2, 0)(, 0). For a single germ f the invariant of f is given in terms of the leading coefficients of the asymptotic expansions of f along the branches of generic polar curve of f.  相似文献

In [4], K. Strambach describes a 2-dimensional stable plane admitting =SL2 as a group of automorphisms such that there exists no -equivarient embedding into a 2-dimensional projective plane. R. Löwen [3] has given a 4-dimensional analogue , admitting =SL2. He posed the question whether there are embeddings of Strambach's plane into . We show that such embeddings exist, in fact we determine all -equivariant embeddings of 2-dimensional stable planes admitting as atransitive group of automorphisms.  相似文献

We show that a closed 4-dimensional simply connected topological manifoldM admits a differentiable structure with aC Riemannian metric whose geodesic flow has zero topological entropy if and only ifM is homeomorphic toS 4, 2,S 2×S 2, or 2#2.  相似文献

The verification of the isomorphism conjectures of Baum and Connes and Farrell and Jones for certain classes of groups is used to compute the algebraic K- and L-theory and the topological K-theory of cocompact planar groups (=cocompact N.E.C-groups) and of groups G appearing in an extension where is a finite group and the conjugation -action on n is free outside . These computations apply, for instance, to two-dimensional crystallographic groups and cocompact Fuchsian groups.  相似文献

Letp: XZ be a continuous map into a (proper) metric space. Using a variation on the geometric modules of Quinn, we associate top (and any reasonable ringR) an additive category (p, R). Mapsp, as above, are the objects of a category on which (-,R) becomes functorial. By composing with an open cone construction, we get a functor which associates to any topological space over a compact Lipschitz space an additive category. Finally, by using the algebraicK-theory spectrum for an additive category, we arrive at a functor which is our main object of study. We show that it is a homology theory in a suitable sense and we derive an Atiyah-Hirzebruch type spectral sequence for its calculation in many cases, including all triangulated objects. On our way, we show that the boundedK-theory of Pedersen and Weibel is essentially a special case of the boundedly controlledK-theory defined earlier by the authors and we establish a close connection, at least philosophically, between the latter theory and the K-theory with -control developed by Chapman, Ferry and Quinn.Partially supported by the NSF under grants numbered DMS-8504320 and DMS-8803149.Partially supported by the SNF (Denmark) under grants numbered 11-7062 and 11-7792.  相似文献

Biquadratic metaplectic Eisenstein series on the group SL 3 are studied, and the sl(2)-triples technique for the computation of the Fourier coefficients of these series is used. The biquadratic theta function on the group SL 3 is also constructed. Bibliography: 10 titles.  相似文献

TheK-theory of the group algebra [] for a countable, discrete group is defined in terms of the simplicial ring of smooth simplices on [], where [] is given the fine topology with respect to its finite-dimensional, linear subspaces. The assembly map for this theory :K * B K * [] is studied and shown to be a rational injection. The proof uses the Connes-Karoubi Chern character fromK-theory of Banach algebras to cyclic homology, here generalized to any fine topological algebra, and proved to be multiplicative.  相似文献

We begin with a review of the known examples of compact totally realn-dimensional submanifolds of n . We then construct some new families of examples, including some which are simply connected. We conclude by using these examples to construct bounded domains of holomorphy in n whose universal covering spaces are not biholomorphically equivalent to domains in n .Herrn Prof. Dr. Karl Stein gewidmetResearch supported in part by Grant MCS 8301142 from the National Science FoundationResearch supported in part by Grant MCS 8219229 from the National Science Foundation  相似文献

In this paper we begin to study 3-folds in a projective space of dimension 5. Using results from [9] we give a classification of all 3-folds in 5 , up to degree 6. There are only 3 different types of 3-folds in 5 of degree 6 which are not complete intersections. These manifolds can be represented as zero schemes of sections in certain (extremal) semistable reflexive sheaves of rank 2 on 5 . Finally we obtain examples of stable reflexive sheaves on 5 with homologieal dimension 1, which do not belong to the extremal sheaves [10].
