The possibility of forming stable bound plasmon-polariton states in an extended metallic cylinder surrounded by a two-level medium has been investigated. The dynamics of plasmons is described in the hydrodynamic approximation. It has been shown that the equations of motion of charge-density bunches and the Bloch equations for the two-level medium are reduced in certain approximations to integrable equations for both transverse and longitudinal plasmons. In the former case, the initial system of equations after the application of the slow-envelope approximation is reduced to equations equivalent to the Maxwell-Bloch equations. In the latter case, the equations describe wave dynamics beyond the slow-envelope approximation. In the approximation of unidirectional wave propagation, the initial system of equations is reduced to equations related to the reduced Maxwell-Bloch equations. Soliton and breather-like solutions of the derived equations describe plasmon-exciton self-induced transparency.  相似文献

A two-level model of recording and readout of holographic gratings in photorefractive crystals proposed by Rustamov has been developed for the nonstationary case. Based on the joint solution of kinetic equations and Maxwell's equations in the quasistationary approximation, a system of coupled partial differential equations for slowly varying optical wave amplitudes has been obtained. The use of a truncated power series expansion has allowed an expression to be obtained for diffraction efficiency in the nonstationary case. The dynamics of diffraction efficiency development is in satisfactory agreement with the available experimental data.  相似文献

In a low field approximation, using the dipolar Yukawa fluid model (in mean spherical approximation as a reference system) a consistent field-dependent free energy expression is proposed for the calculation of the vapour-liquid equilibrium of polar fluids in an applied electric field. A perturbation theory high field approximation expression of the free energy is also proposed to study the field-dependent properties of fluids. In the high field approximation, equations for the field-dependent polarization and for the nonlinear dielectric constant (or Piekara constant) are also predicted. It has been discussed that our approximations are appropriate to describe the vapour-liquid-like phase equilibria and the magnetization curves of magnetic fluids.  相似文献

The system of the magnetohydrodynamic equations for a heavy fluid has been analyzed in the shallow water approximation. All discontinuous self-similar solutions and all continuous centered self-similar solutions have been found. It has been shown that magnetogravity compression waves are broken with the formation of a magnetogravity shock wave. The initial decay discontinuity problem for the magnetohydrodynamic equations has been solved in the explicit form in the shallow water approximation. The existence of five different configurations implementing the solution of the decay of an arbitrary discontinuity has been demonstrated. The conditions necessary and sufficient for the implementation of each configuration have been found.  相似文献

A system of self-consistent equations has been proposed for the coherent potential approximation of the multiband conductivity model for the case of conduction electron scattering from chaotic electric fields of ions of disordered binary alloy components at zero temperature. It has been qualitatively demonstrated that the deviation of the concentration dependence of the residual electrical resistivity of actinide alloys with multiband conductivity from the Nordheim rule is caused by the explicit dependence of the electrical resistivity of the alloy on the magnitude and sign of the real part of the Green’s function at the Fermi level. The derived system of equations for the multiband coherent potential approximation has been used to calculate the concentration dependence of the density of states and the residual electrical resistivity of the alloys of neptunium and plutonium. The results of the calculations have been compared with the available experimental data.  相似文献

The system of the equations of motion for a compressible gas in the gravitational field over a smooth underlying surface has been analyzed in the shallow water approximation. All continuous centered self-similar solutions and all discontinuous self-similar solutions have been obtained. The problem of the decay of an arbitrary discontinuity for the equations of motion of the compressible gas has been solved in the explicit form in the shallow water approximation. The existence of four different configurations implementing the solution of the problem of the decay of an arbitrary discontinuity has been demonstrated. The conditions necessary and sufficient for the implementation of each configuration have been determined.  相似文献

The basic set of fluid equations can be reduced to the nonlinear Kortewege-de Vries (KdV) and nonlinear Schrödinger (NLS) equations. The rational solutions for the two equations has been obtained. The exact amplitude of the nonlinear ion-acoustic solitary wave can be obtained directly without resorting to any successive approximation techniques by a direct analysis of the given field equations. The Sagdeev's potential is obtained in terms of ion acoustic velocity by simply solving an algebraic equation. The soliton and double layer solutions are obtained as a small amplitude approximation. A comparison between the exact soliton solution and that obtained from the reductive perturbation theory are also discussed.  相似文献

本文采用扩散界面法研究了剪切流动条件下悬浮液滴变形和断裂的动力学机制。控制方程采用考虑表面张力影响的Navier-Stokes-Cahn-Hilliard方程描述。计算网格采用均匀矩形交错网格。采用基于压力增量的近似投影法计算 Navier-Stokes方程,采用完全近似多重网格法计算Cahn-Hilliard方程。稳态液滴变形规律及液滴拉伸断裂过程的计算结果与试验结果符合较好,表明本文模型能够很好的研究液滴变形及断裂机理。  相似文献

A self-consistent field model of atoms in dense plasmas has been devised and incorporated in a computer program. In the model there is a uniform positive charge distribution with a hole in it and at the center of the hole an atomic nucleus. There are electrons, in both bound and continuum states, in sufficient number to form an electrically neutral system. The Dirac equation is used so that high Z atoms can be dealt with. A finite temperature is assumed, and a mean field (average atom) approximation is used in statistical averages. Applications have been made to equations of states and to photoabsorption.  相似文献

The integral equation model (IEM) was developed in the late 1980s and arguably became the most cited and implemented rough-surface scattering model in the field of radar remote sensing for Earth observation. It was derived by applying a second-order iteration in the incident electromagnetic field to the integral equations of the surface fields as given by Poggio and Miller. It is thus an extension of the first-order, Born approximation of these equations that produce the classical Kirchhoff approximation. The IEM has been subject to numerous amendments and variations over the last 20 years due to the imperfect introduction and handling of the Weyl representation of the spherical wave in its first version. The work presented here is a further development of the contribution made by the same author in 2001 (IEM2M), which was the first version of IEM able to blend analytically both the Kirchhoff and the small-perturbation approximations for the bistatic case. The improvement reported in this article is concerned with the inclusion of evanescent waves in the formulation of the model and the extension of the range of applicability of the second-order scattering terms to interfaces with complex-permittivity scattering media.  相似文献

An approximate solution to the complete semiclassical Maxwell-Bloch equations for the sharp-line case has been found making use of the coupling constant as a small parameter. This approach confirms results obtained through the reduced Maxwell-Bloch equations. The solution describes coherent propagation of an optical pulse more generally than the theory using the slowly varying envelope approximation (SVEA) and the rotating-wave approximation (RWA). Conditions for resonant propagation, taking into account the Bloch-Siegert shift, have been found and discussed in detail.  相似文献

In this paper the asymptotic method has been applied to investigate propagation of generalized thermoelastic waves in an infinite homogenous isotropic plate. The governing equations for the extensional, transversal and flexural motions are derived from the system of three-dimensional dynamical equations of linear theories of generalized thermoelasticity. The asymptotic operator plate model for extensional and flexural free vibrations in a homogenous thermoelastic plate leads to sixth and fifth degree polynomial secular equations, respectively. These secular equations govern frequency and phase velocity of various possible modes of wave propagation at all wavelengths. The velocity dispersion equations for extensional and flexural wave motion are deduced from the three-dimensional analog of Rayleigh-Lamb frequency equation for thermoelastic plate. The approximation for long and short waves along with expression for group velocity has also been obtained. The Rayleigh-Lamb frequency equations for the considered plate are expanded in power series in order to obtain polynomial frequency and velocity dispersion relations and its equivalence established with that of asymptotic method. The numeric values for phase velocity, group velocity and attenuation coefficients has also been obtained using MATHCAD software and are shown graphically for extensional and flexural waves in generalized theories of thermoelastic plate for solid helium material.  相似文献

An approximate equation of state is considered that contains a correction for electron-gas inhomogeneity in the exchange-correlation and kinetic energies in the quasi-classical approximation. The problem of finding the model parameters satisfying the condition P=0 has been solved for metals at a normal density. The results of numerical solution of the model equations are presented for degrees of compression. The values of the quasi-classical parameter determining the approximation accuracy are found. The results are illustrated by the dependences on the degree of compression plotted in the range ρ/ρ0=1–106 and by the spatial dependences. Our approach to construction of the equation of state provides for a quite simple but sufficiently accurate approach to the experimental values of the model parameters. Moreover, the proposed model gives much more self-consistent information as compared to conventional approximations. In particular, the ionicity is calculated for an increase in the density. The model equation can also be used instead of the well-known effective bound-electron potential approximation.  相似文献

In this paper, we investigate the dynamics of an open qubit model by solving two sets of its reduced dynamical equations. One set of the equations is the well-known Bloch equations and the other is the widely investigated master equations of Redfield form. Both of them are obtained from the perturbation approximation which demands the system of interest weakly coupled to its environment. It is shown that the qubit has a longer decoherence and relaxiation time as the dynamics is described by the Redfield equantions.  相似文献

A lattice model, taking into account the possibility of an atom being pinned at a site upon vitrification, has been developed for binary alloys. The Hamiltonian found for the problem is used in the average-field approximation to obtain equations for the parameters of atom pinning and long-range compositional order. The structure of a homogeneous liquid flow at the interface with a porous medium saturated with the same liquid has been studied in the boundary layer approximation. The porous medium is described by the Brinkman model. Self-similar equations of motion in the form of Blasius equation have been found, and their numerical solutions have been presented. In the first part of our paper we have derived a set of stochastic differential equations which describe the solidification of binary melts. The equations have been derived within the framework of the model in which the mass and heat transport and the kinetics of the phase transition is considered. In the second part of our paper we present the analysis of the set of general equations. On the basis of this analysis it will be obvious which approximations can be used for the solution of the basic equations in a particular regime of solidification. The adiabatic approximation is one of them. Another situation occurs when the thermodynamic conditions of the phase transformation change fast with time. The system not only moves away from thermodynamic equilibrium but also we can observe inertia of the system, which results in a delay of the evolution of the system respecting the steady-state regime (e.g. the nucleation processes) and the adiabatic approximation cannot be assumed. Concluding this paper, the method used in paper [13] to describe the nucleation in binary systems is presented as an example of the solution of the set of general equations in the case where the adiabatic approximation cannot be adopted.  相似文献

The anode layer of the magnetron discharge plasma is considered within the framework of a hydrodynamic approximation with the electron mobility and collision frequency assumed to be constant. A rigorous solution of the system of equations has been obtained. The solutions of this problem known so far have been shown to be particular cases of the one found in this work. The range of applicability of the anode layer model to the calculation of the main parameters of dc magnetron sputtering systems is discussed.  相似文献

The nonlinear, total internal reflection of a laser pulse from an absorbing layer of finite thickness in the presence of a retrodirective mirror has been considered in the framework of the plane-wave approximation. The dynamics of reflection of a pulse from a nonlinear layer has been investigated on the basis of the solution of Maxwell equations for a refracted wave and constitutive equations for a medium with thermal nonlinearity. The numerical solution of the unsteady equations obtained allows one to determine the evolution of the reflectance of a layer. The time evolution of the energy parameters and the shape of the reflected and transmitted pulses has been numerically simulated.  相似文献
