New experimental data of densities and surface tensions are presented for the binary mixtures of the ionic liquid 1-ethyl-3- methyl imidazolium nitrate([EMIM]NO3) with methanol and ethanol.Measurements were performed at 298.15 K and atmospheric pressure,covering the whole composition range.Excess molar volumes VE and the surface tension deviations Sy have been determined.For the excess molar volumes of binary mixture,there is a region of negative VE at low IL mole fraction,passing through a minimum and then VE increases and becomes positive,showing maximum at higher IL mole fraction.It is shown that the surface tension deviations Sy of[EMIM]NO3 + methanol system are positive but those of[EMIM]NO3 + ethanol system are negative over the entire mole fraction range.  相似文献

The density and surface tension of 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium l-lactate ([emim][l-lactate]) ionic liquid were determined from T = (283.15 to 333.15) K. The coefficients of thermal expansion were calculated from the experimental density results using an empirical correlation for T = (283.15 to 333.15) K. Molecular volume and standard entropies of the IL were calculated from the experimental density values. The surface properties of IL were investigated. The critical temperature and enthalpy of vaporization were also discussed. Density and surface tension have been measured over the whole composition range for {[emim][l-lactate] + water} binary systems at a temperature of 298.15 K and atmospheric pressure. The amount of available accurate experimental data on the surface tension of ionic liquids is still limited; in many cases the data are rare or even absent. In the present study, air-liquid interfacial tension data were determined experimentally for five 1-Cn-3-methylimidazolium based ionic liquids (n = 2, 4, and 6), three with trifluoromethanesulfonate and two with tetrafluoroborate anion, at atmospheric pressure in the temperature range from 268 to 356 K. The resultant surface tension data are average values of the measurements repeated many times at each set point temperature. The accuracy of the results, was confirmed by employing the Wilhelmy plate and the du Noüy ring methods in parallel, using the Krüss K100MK2 tensiometer. For the Wilhelmy plate data the combined standard uncertainty is estimated to be about 0.05 mN m−1. The data obtained by du Noüy method show about up to seven times greater scatter than those obtained by the Wilhelmy plate method. To the 50 up to now published surface tension values for the five studied ionic liquids the present study adds further 175 data points. In contrast to that of n-alkanes, the surface tension of 1-alkyl-3-methylimidazolium based ionic liquids decreases and their surface entropy increases with the cation alkyl chain length.  相似文献

Summary The excess surface tension of a large number of binary liquid mixtures has been correlated with their topological features quantified in terms of the molecular connectivity indices. The agreement between the calculated and experimental E values is reasonably well for all the mixtures. A simple correlation has also been proposed between E and molar excess volume (V E ) of a binary mixture. The correlation is quite useful in correlating E data even for the mixtures where either one or both the components are associated in the pure state and/or there is interaction between them.

Zusammenfassung Die Exzeß-Oberflächenspannungen einer großen Anzahl von binären flüssigen Mischungen wurden mit der Topologie ihrer Komponenten in Form der molekularen Konnektivitätsindices korreliert. Die Übereinstimmung zwischen den E -Werten ist für alle Mischungen relativ gut. Es wurde ebenfalls eine einfache Korrelation zwischen E und den molaren Exzeß-Volumina (V E ) der binären Mischungen vorgeschlagen. Diese Korrelierung ist nützlich, um die E -Werte sogar dann für die Korrelation von Mischungen verwenden zu können, wenn entweder eine oder beide Komponenten im Reinzustand assoziiert sind und/oder eine Wechselwirkung zwischen ihnen besteht.

Densities and viscosities were determined for binary mixtures of 2,2,2-trifluoroethanol (TFE) and 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate ([bmim][BF4]), 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium hexafluorophosphate ([bmim][PF6]) or 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide ([bmim][NTf2]) over the entire range of composition. The experimental measurements were carried out at temperatures ranging from 278.15 K to 333.15 K, at atmospheric pressure. The densities and viscosities of the pure ionic liquids and their mixtures with TFE were described successfully by an empirical third-order polynomial and by the Vogel–Fulcher–Tammann equation, respectively. In addition, excess molar volumes and viscosity deviations were determined from densities and viscosities of mixtures, respectively, and fitted by using the Redlich–Kister equation.  相似文献

We measured the interfacial tension and the density of air/n-hexane, n-decane, 1-perfluorohexane/1-hexyl-3-methyl-imidazolium hexafluorophosphate systems as a function of temperature. From the air/ionic liquid surface tension values, it was suggested that Coulombic interaction between imidazolium cations and counter anions are not so much different between the surface and bulk. The density values indicated that the decrease of surface tension by saturating organics was closely correlated to the mutual solubility between ionic liquid and organics. Interfacial tension at the oil/ionic liquid interfaces suggested that ionic liquid molecules were more ordered at the oil/ionic liquid interfaces compared to the air/ionic liquid interfaces, but the decrease of the entropy due to the interfacial orientation of ionic liquid was compensated by the increase of the entropy due to the contact of different chemical species. The initial spreading coefficients and the Hamaker constants indicated that all the oil phases spread at the air/ionic liquid interfaces spontaneously, and form the complete wetting films.  相似文献

This work is a continuation of our studies on experimental measurements of physical properties on binary mixtures of the ionic liquid (IL) family 1-alkyl-3-methyl imidazolium tetrafluoroborate (CnMIM-BF4) with water and ethanol. Here, we present density for the ternary system Butyl-MIM-BF4 + ethanol + water at two temperatures (298.15 K and 323.15 K) and seven pressures (from 0.1 to 30 MPa). It should be noted that BMIM-BF4 is the only IL of the family CnMIM-BF4 that can be mixed with water and ethanol in all range of concentrations at room conditions. From the density data measured in function of pressure and temperature other important derived thermodynamic properties can be calculated, such us excess molar volumes, isothermal compressibility, isobaric expansion and the thermal pressure coefficients. These properties for selected ternary mixtures will be discussed and compared with data from the scarce number of published results for similar ternary mixtures with this same IL.  相似文献

We investigated the properties of 1-decyl-3-methylimidazolium bromide (DMImBr), a molten salt at room temperature, and its mixtures with water in the whole proportions.At low concentrations, this salt behaved like a classical cationic amphiphile. Its critical micellar concentration (cmc) was determined by conductimetry and by measuring electromotive forces (EMF) with bromide or cationic surfactant-selective electrodes. Moreover, the association rate of the counter ion to micelle has been determined on a wide range of concentrations, allowing characterising the micellisation equilibrium by a solubility product.The conductivity of this liquid electrolyte in mixtures with water was maximal at high concentrations. We modelled this behaviour, taking into account the molar volume fraction of both phases.Our results show that these solutions, which are composed of dispersed aggregates, behave like mixtures of two phases that interpenetrate themselves.  相似文献

The density and surface tension for pure ionic liquid N-octyl-pyridinium nitrate were measured from (293.15 to 328.15) K. The coefficient of thermal expansion, molecular volume, standard entropies, and lattice energy were calculated from the experimental density values. The critical temperature, surface entropy, surface enthalpy, and enthalpy of vaporization were also studied from the experimental surface tension results. Density and surface tension were also determined for binary mixtures of (N-octyl-pyridinium nitrate + alcohol) (methanol, ethanol, and 1-butanol) systems over the whole composition range at 298.15 K and atmospheric pressure. Excess molar volumes and surface tension deviations for the binary systems have been calculated and were fitted to a Redlich–Kister equation to determine the fitting parameters and the root mean square deviations. Ionic liquid (IL) [C7mim][BF4] (1-heptyl-3-methyl-imidazolium tetrafluoroborate) was prepared and characterized. The density and surface tension of the IL were determined in the temperature range of 293.15–343.15 K. In terms of Glasser's theory, the standard molar entropy and lattice energy of the IL were estimated. Using Kabo's method, the molar enthalpy of vaporization of the IL, ΔlgHm0 (298 K), was estimated. According to the interstice model, the thermal expansion coefficient of IL, α, was calculated and in comparison with experimental value, they are within one order of magnitude.  相似文献

考察了先锋褐煤(XL)在高温稳定性很好的离子液体1-丁基-3-甲基咪唑三氟甲磺酸盐([Bmim]OTf)中的解聚性能,并对其在不同热溶条件下解聚所得热溶物和残煤进行了分析表征。结果表明,[Bmim]OTf对XL具有较好的解聚性能。在280℃,[Bmim]OTf/XL为3.5下解聚4h,[Bmim]OTf对XL的萃取率(以四氢呋喃可溶物计)为20.1%。四氢萘(THN)、H2和催化剂ZnCl2的加入可显著促进XL在[Bmim]OTf中的解聚,相比于XL在[Bmim]OTf作用下的萃取率,THN、H2和催化剂ZnCl2的加入使可溶物的收率分别提高到30.0%、36.9%和46.8%。产物分析结果表明,在[Bmim]OTf热溶解聚XL的过程中THN的加入使得XL经离子液体[Bmim]OTf解聚所得热溶物中氢键的数量明显增加;H2和ZnCl2的添加分别增加了产物中脂肪烃和芳烃的含量。  相似文献

The limited availability of experimental data and their quality have been preventing the development of predictive methods and Computer Aided Molecular Design (CAMD) of ionic liquids (ILs). Based on experimental speed of sound data collected from the literature, the inter-relationship of surface tension (σ), density (ρ), and speed of sound (u) has been examined for imidazolium based ILs containing hexafluorophosphate (PF6), tetrafluoroborate (BF4), bis(trifluoromethanesulphonyl) amide (NTf2), methyl sulphate (MeSO4), ethyl sulphate (EtSO4), and trifluoromethanesulphonate (CF3SO3) anions, covering wide ranges of temperature, 278.15–343.15 K and speed of sound, 1129.0–1851.0 m s−1. The speed of sound was correlated with a modified Auerbach's relation, by using surface tension and density data obtained from volume based predictive methods previously proposed by the authors. It is shown that a good agreement with literature data is obtained. For 133 data points of 14 ILs studied a mean percent deviation (MPD) of 1.96% with a maximum deviation inferior to 5% was observed. The correlations developed here can thus be used to evaluate the speeds of sound of new ionic liquids.  相似文献

The simultaneous electrodeposition of dysprosium and terbium on platinum electrode in 1-ethyl-3-methyl-imidazolium tetrafluoroborate (EMIMBF4) ionic liquid was investigated. The cyclic voltammetry, chronoamperometry and constant electrolysis experiments have been employed to examine the electrochemistry of dysprosium and terbium ions in 0.01 mol/L DyCl3-0.023 mol/L TbCl3-0.27 mol/L LiCl-EMIMBF4 ionic liquid. The electrochemistry experiments indicated that the reduction of dysprosium and terbium ions in 0.01 mol/L DyCl3-0.023 mol/L TbCl3-0.27 mol/L LiCl-EMIMBF4 ionic liquid was an irreversible process and simultaneous process. In 0.01 mol/L DyCl3-0.023 mol/L TbCl3-0.27 mol/L LiCl-EMIMBF4 ionic liquid the diffusion coefficient of the diffusion process of species which controlled the total electrochemical reduction process have been determined to be (3.79–7.07) × 10−6 cm2/s from cyclic voltammetry and chronoamperometry results. XRD spectrum of constant electrolysis samples showed that dysprosium and terbium deposits were obtained.  相似文献

The determination of the capillary parameter for the partially miscible binary liquid system acetonitrile + cyclohexane has been reported. The system has closely matched densities and the data points are affected by gravity only when the fractional change of the temperature from the critical temperature is about 10–6. The system also exhibits very interesting wetting properties. The interfacial tension has been fitted to a power law =0.061 (Tc-T)1.26. The effect of doping with water and the instability of the wetting layer, which crucially depends on the interfacial tension, are studied.  相似文献

In this work, experimental data of isobaric vapour–liquid equilibria for the ternary system ethanol + water + 1-hexyl-3-methylimidazolium chloride ([C6mim][Cl]) and for the corresponding binary systems containing the ionic liquid (ethanol + [C6mim][Cl], water + [C6mim][Cl]) were carried out at 101.300 kPa. VLE experimental data of binary and ternary systems were correlated using the NRTL equation. In a previous work [N. Calvar, B. González, E. Gómez, A. Domínguez, J. Chem. Eng. Data 51 (2006) 2178–2181], the VLE of the ternary system ethanol + water + [C4mim][Cl] was determined and correlated, so we can study the influence of different ionic liquids in the behaviour of the azeotropic mixture ethanol–water.  相似文献

This paper reports that an ionic liquid (IL) has been prepared by directly mixing InCl3 and 1-methyl-3-ethylimidazolium chloride (EMIC) with molar ratio 1/1 under dry argon atmosphere. The densities, and surface tension of the pure IL were determined at temperature range of 293.15 to 343.15 ± 0.1 K. The volumetric properties and the properties of surface for ionic liquid based on group III were discussed by Glasser's theory and Yang's interstice model.  相似文献

The surface tension σ(c) of most liquid binary alloys usually varies with concentration c in a monotonic way between the values σ1 and σ2 of the two pure metals, and this behaviour is well explained by current models. Some alloys show deviations from this ideal behaviour. One of those is Fe–B. The surface tension of this liquid alloy shows a minimum at 17 atomic % B, which corresponds well with the composition of the eutectic point in the phase diagram, followed by a maximum at a concentration of 24 atomic % B or higher. The usual models for the surface tension of liquid binary alloys do not explain those exceptional features, and we propose that a model involving the concentration fluctuations in the liquid alloy has the proper ingredients to account for the features in Fe–B and similar alloys.  相似文献

Room temperature ionic liquids (RTIL) are molten salts that are liquids at room temperature. Their liquid state makes them possible candidates as solvents in countercurrent chromatography (CCC), which uses solvents as both the mobile and stationary phases. The study focuses on 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium hexafluorophosphate (BMIM PF6), an easy to synthesize and purify RTIL whose melting point is –8°C. It is shown that BMIM PF6 behaves like a solvent of significant polarity (comparable with that of ethanol). The ternary phase diagram water–acetonitrile–BMIM PF6 is given, because it was necessary to add acetonitrile to reduce the ionic liquid viscosity. The 40:20:40% w/w water–acetonitrile–BMIM PF6 biphasic liquid system was found to be appropriate as a biphasic liquid system for CCC. Different aromatic solutes, including bases, acids, and neutral compounds, were injected into the CCC column to estimate their distribution constants between the ionic liquid-rich phase and the aqueous phase. The resulting Kil/w constants were compared with the corresponding literature octanol–water partition coefficients, Ko/w. The important drawbacks in the use of RTIL in CCC are clearly pointed out: high viscosity producing pressure build-up, UV absorbance limiting the use of the convenient UV detector, and non-volatility precluding the use of the evaporative light-scattering detector for continuous detection.  相似文献
