On shadowing property for inverse limit spaces

We study here the G-shadowing property of the shift map σ on the inverse limit space X _f, generated by an equivariant self-map f on a metric G-space X.      

On weak neighborhood systems and spaces

We introduce and study the concepts of weak neighborhood systems, weak neighborhood spaces, ω(ψ, ψ′)-continuity, ω-continuity and ω*-continuity on WNS’s. This work was supported by a grant from Research Institute for Basic Science at Kangwon National University.     

Subspaces of sequential spaces

It is proved that the space of continuous functions on the ordinary closed interval with the topology of pointwise convergence is not subsequential. In sequential spaces satisfying certain conditions, subspaces dense-in-themselves without convergent sequences are found; such subspaces are constructed in certain sequential compact spaces and semitopological groups. A. S. Convergence of two-parameter banach space valued martingales and the radon-nikodym property of banach spaces

In this paper, we prove that under theF ₄ conditions, anyL log⁺ L bounded two-parameter Banach spece valued martingale converges almost surely to an integrable Banach space valued random variable if and only if the Banach space has the Radon-Nikodym property. We further prove that the above conclusion remains true if theF ₄ condition is replaced by the weaker localF ₄ condition. Besov spaces andK-functionals inL p, 0<p<1*

We investigate Besov spaces and their connection with trigonometric polynomial approximation inL _p[−π,π], algebraic polynomial approximation inL _p[−1,1], algebraic polynomial approximation inL _p(S), and entire function of exponential type approximation inL _p(R), and characterizeK-functionals for certain pairs of function spaces including (L _p[−π,π],B _s ^a(L _p[−π,π])), (L _p(R),_s ^a(L_p(R))), , and , where 0<s≤∞, 0<p<1,S is a simple polytope and 0<α<r. Borel resolvability of compact spaces and their subspaces

The presence of disjoint dense (Borel) subsets in Tychonoff cubes, Borel subspaces of Tychonoff cubes, and dyadic compacta is examined. Several problems are stated. Hyperspaces of nowhere topologically complete spaces

It is proved that ifX is a connected locally continuumwise connected coanalytic nowhere topologically complete space, then the hyperspace 2 ^X of all nonempty compact subsets ofX is strongly universal in the class of all coanalytic spaces. Moreover, 2 ^X is homeomorphic to Π₂ ifX is a Baire space, and toQ∖Π₁ ifX contains a dense absoluteG _δ-setG ⊂X such that the intersectionG ∩U is connected for any open connectedU ⊂X. (Here Π₁, Π₁⊂X are the standard subsets of the Hilbert cubeQ absorbing for the classes of analytic and coanalytic spaces, respectively.) Similar results are obtained for higher projective classes. On K0-groups of operator algebras on Banach spaces

This paper merges some classifications of G-M-type Banach spaces simplifically, discusses the condition of K ₀(B(X)) = 0 for operator algebra B(X) on a Banach space X, and obtains a result to improve Laustsen's sufficient condition, gives an example to show that X ≈ X ² is not a sufficient condition of K ₀(B(X)) = 0.     

An <Emphasis Type="Italic">ω</Emphasis>-category with all Duals is an <Emphasis Type="Italic">ω</Emphasis>-groupoid

We make a definition of ω-precategory which should underlie any definition of weak ω-category. We make a precise definition of pseudo-invertible cells in this setting. We show that in an ω-precategory with all weak duals, every cell is pseudo-invertible. We deduce that in any “sensible” theory of ω-categories, an ω-category with all weak duals is an ω-groupoid. We discuss various examples and open questions involving higher-dimensional tangles and cobordisms.      

On Λ-generalized closed sets in topological spaces

We introduce new classes of sets called Λ _g -closed sets and Λ _g -open sets in topological spaces. We also investigate several properties of such sets. It turns out that Λ _g -closed sets and Λ _g -open sets are weaker forms of closed sets and open sets, respectively and stronger forms of g-closed sets and g-open sets, respectively. Sequential order of product of Fréchet spaces

We construct, assuming the continuum hypothesis (CH), two (strongly) Fréchet spaces whose product is sequential and its sequential order is for any given ω₁.     

<Emphasis Type="Italic">ω</Emphasis>-Convergence theory of filters in <Emphasis Type="Italic">Lω</Emphasis> -spaces

In this paper, an ω-convergence theory of filters in an Lω-space is established. By means of the ω-convergence theory, some important characterizations with respective to the ω-closed sets, ω T ₂ separation and (ω ₁, ω ₂)-continuous mappings are obtained. Moreover, the mutual relationships among ω-convergence of molecular nets, ω-convergence of ideals and ω-convergence of filters are given.     

ω-非常凸空间与ω-非常光滑空间

本文研究了ω-非常凸空间和ω-非常光滑空间的问题.利用局部自反原理和切片证明了ω-非常凸空间和ω-非常光滑空间的对偶关系,讨论了ω-非常凸空间和ω-非常光滑空间与其它凸性和光滑性的关系,给出了ω-非常凸空间与ω-非常光滑空间的若干特征刻画,所得结果完善了关于Banach空间凸性与光滑性理论的研究.     

Distribution results for lattices in SL(2,ℚ p )

In this paper we study the ergodic properties of the linear action of lattices Γ of SL(2,ℚ_p) on ℚ_p × ℚ_p and distribution results for orbits of Γ. Following Serre, one can define a “geodesic flow” for an associated tree (actually associated to GL(2,ℚ_p)). The approach we use is based on an extension of this approach to “frame flows” which are a natural compact group extension of the geodesic flow.     

Index theory on locally homogeneous spaces

We describe how the equivariant K homology class of an invariant elliptic operator on a homogeneous space of a linear semisimple Lie group determines the L ²-index of the associated operator on a finite volume locally homogeneous space. The machinery of equivariant K homology and of KK theory can be used to prove theorems about L ²-indices. We give an application motivated by the problem of calculating multiplicities of subrepresentations of quasi-regular representations.Supported by the National Science Foundation under Grant No. DMS-8903472.Supported by the National Science Foundation under Grant No. DMS-8901436.     

Embeddings of the classesH ω

In this paper we study functions belonging to the classesV _ε and ΛBV, which are encountered in the theory of Fourier trigonometric series. On quasi-Souslin C c (X) spaces

We prove that the space C _c (X) of the real-valued continuous functions with the compact-open topology is quasi-Souslin iff it is K-analytic. This implies that C _c (X) is K-analytic iff it is dominated by the irrationals.
