Thus one gets a pair of adjoint functors from p to p , p being the category of p-bornological spaces and continuous linear maps, and the topologies being introduced will be characterized by extreme properties with respect to the adjoint transformations.

The possibility of integral formulas in R n

We consider the integral We solve the problem of determination of necessary and sufficient conditions in order that (u) be independent of the values of u(x) inside a bounded domain . These conditions are written in the form of a set of differential equations for the functions f(x,u,¯p,T^ij) on the set m{x; u+¯p+ T^ij<}. Bristol 1973, ein abstract erscheint im JSL), andererseits kündigt H.R.Lewis die Reduktionstypeneigenschaft für ((0, ), (0, 1)) an (s. H.R.Lewis: Krom formulas with one dyadic predicate letter. Trace formulas for pair operators

In this paper we shall study the Fredholm determinant and related trace formulas for a class of operators which correspond to the restriction of integral operators with kernels of the form k(x,y) = (x)g^v(x–y)+[1–(x)]f^v(x–y) to the square |x|,|y| T and shall evaluate the limit as T . Here denotes the indicator function of the right half-line [0,) . The results obtained generalize the well known formulas of M. Kac for the classical convolution operator in which g = f .     

The existence of some resolvable block designs with divisibility into groups

This paper proves the existence of resolvable block designs with divisibility into groups GD(v; k, m; ₁, ₂) without repeated blocks and with arbitrary parameters such that ₁ = k, (v–1)/(k–1) ₂ v^k–2 (and also ₁ k/2, (v–1)/(2(k–1)) ₂ v^k–2 in case k is even) k 4 andp=1 (mod k–1), k < p for each prime divisor p of number v. As a corollary, the existence of a resolvable BIB-design (v, k, ) without repeated blocks is deduced with X = k (and also with = k/2 in case of even k) k , where a is a natural number if k is a prime power and=1 if k is a composite number.Translated from Matematicheskie Zametki, Vol. 19, No. 4, pp. 623–634, April, 1976.     

Weak solutions of the Stokes problem in weighted Sobolev spaces

For n2 we consider the Stokes problem in ⁿ, -u + p=f, -divu=g, in weighted Soboiev spaces H ₆ ^m,r , where the weights are proportional to (1+|x|). We prove the existence of weak solutions for any K, whereK is a discrete set of critical values. Furthermore, we characterize the solutions of the homogeneous problem.This research was supported by the DFG research group Equations of Hydrodynamics, Universities of Bayreuth and Paderborn.     

On Upper and Lower Almost β-continuous Multifunctions

In this paper, the authors define a multifunction F : X Y to be upper (lower) almost -continuous if F+(V) (F- (V)) is -open in X for every regular open set V of Y. They obtain some characterizations and several properties concerning upper (lower) almost -continuous multifunctions.     

Independence in hypergraphs

Suppose an integral function (|A|)q₁ defined on the subsets of edges of a hypergraph (X,u,) satisfies the following two conditions: 1) any set W u such that |A|(|A|) for any AW is matroidally independent; 2) if W is an independent set, then there exists a unique partitionW=T₁+ T₂+...+T_v such that |T ⁱ |=(|T ⁱ |),i1:v, and for any AW, |A|(|A|) there exists a T_i such that AT_i. About generalized ideals in a distributive lattice

Nonexistence of new order-9 projective plane with order-13 collineation

The order-9 Desarguesian projective plane and the known self-dual non-Desarguesian plane (Carmichael or Hughes plane) each have a 13-collineation displacing all points and all lines. We show that no previously undiscovered 9-plane has this property.

Improving on a well-known estimate of Bateman (1972), we show that (x)-Ax R(x), where A=(2)(3)/(6) and R(x) is essentially of the size of the best available estimate for the remainder term in the prime number theorem.     

Nonnegative Hall Polynomials

The number of subgroups of type and cotype in a finite abelian p-group of type is a polynomialg with integral coefficients. We prove g has nonnegative coefficients for all partitions and if and only if no two parts of differ by more than one. Necessity follows from a few simple facts about Hall-Littlewood symmetric functions; sufficiency relies on properties of certain order-preserving surjections that associate to each subgroup a vector dominated componentwise by . The nonzero components of (H) are the parts of , the type of H; if no two parts of differ by more than one, the nonzero components of – (H) are the parts of , the cotype of H. In fact, we provide an order-theoretic characterization of those isomorphism types of finite abelian p-groups all of whose Hall polynomials have nonnegative coefficients.
