The asymptotic behavior of solutions of second-order quasilinear elliptic and nonhyperbolic partial differential equations defined on unbounded domains inR n contained in\(\{ x_1 ,...,x_n :\left| {x_n } \right|< \lambda \sqrt {x_1^2 + ...x_{n - 1}^2 } \) for certain sublinear functions λ is investigated when such solutions satisfy Dirichlet boundary conditions and the Dirichlet boundary data has appropriate asymptotic behavior at infinity. We prove Phragmèn-Lindelöf theorems for large classes of nonhyperbolic operators, without «lower order terms”, including uniformly elliptic operators and operators with well-definedgenre, using special barrier functions which are constructed by considering an operator associated to our original operator. We also estimate the rate at which a solution converges to its limiting function at infinity in terms of properties of the top order coefficienta nn of the operator and the rate at which the boundary values converge to their limiting function; these results are proven using appropriate barrier functions which depend on the behavior of the coefficients of the operator and the rate of convergence of boundary values.  相似文献

In this paper, we discuss the Cauchy-type integral formula of hypermonogenic functions on unbounded domains in real Clifford analysis, then we extend the Plemelj formula and Cauchy–Pompeiu formula of hypermonogenic functions on bounded domains to unbounded domains. In this paper, we establish the almost sure asymptotic stability and decay results for solutions of an autonomous scalar difference equation with a nonhyperbolic equilibrium at the origin, which is perturbed by a random term with a fading state-independent intensity. In particular, we show that if the unbounded noise has tails that fade more quickly than polynomially, then the state-independent perturbation dies away at a sufficiently fast polynomial rate in time, and if the autonomous difference equation has a polynomial nonlinearity at the origin, then the almost sure polynomial rate of decay of solutions can be determined exactly. __________ Translated from Sovremennaya Matematika. In this paper we mainly study the so-called isotonic Dirac system over more general types of unbounded domains in Euclidean space of even dimension. In such systems different Dirac operators in the half dimension act from the left and from the right on the functions considered. We obtain the integral representation of isotonic functions satisfying the decay condition over the unbounded domains, and show that the integral representation formula over the unbounded domains for holomorphic functions of several complex variables and for Hermitean monogenic functions may be derived from it.  相似文献

Many problems of mechanics and physics are posed in unbounded (or infinite) domains. For solving these problems one typically limits them to bounded domains and finds ways to set appropriate conditions on artificial boundaries or use quasi-uniform grid that maps unbounded domains to bounded ones. Differently from the above methods we approach to problems in unbounded domains by infinite systems of equations. In this paper we develop this approach for an elliptic problem in an infinite semistrip. Using the idea of Polozhii in the method of summary representations we transform the infinite system of three-point vector equations to infinite systems of three-point scalar equations and obtain the approximate solution with a given accuracy. Numerical experiments for several examples show the effectiveness of the proposed method.  相似文献

We give an overview on the solution of the stationary Navier-Stokes equations for non newtonian incompressible fluids established by G. Dias and M.M. Santos (Steady flow for shear thickening fluids with arbitrary fluxes, J. Differential Equations 252 (2012), no. 6, 3873-3898), propose a definition for domains with unbounded curved channels which encompasses domains with an unbounded boundary, domains with nozzles, and domains with a boundary being a punctured surface, and argue on the existence of steady flowfor incompressible fluids with arbitrary fluxes in such domains.  相似文献

In two-dimensional Euclidean space, a simply connected unbounded domain whose boundary is a Jordan curve is called an unbounded Jordan domain. In this article, we discuss a piecewise linear finite element approximation of conformal mappings from the unit disk of the plane to unbounded Jordan domains. In this paper, the author studies the existence of the minimal nonnegative solutions of some elliptic variational inequalities in Orlicz-Sobolev spaces on bounded or unbounded domains. She gets some comparison results between different solutions as tools to pass to the limit in the problems and to show the existence of the minimal solutions of the variational inequalities on bounded domains or unbounded domains. In both cases,coercive and noncoercive operators are handled. The sufficient and necessary conditions for the existence of the minimal nonnegative solution of the noncoercive variational inequality on bounded domains are established.  相似文献

Applying an asymptotic method, the existence of the minimal solution to some variational elliptic inequalities defined on bounded or unbounded domains is established. The minimal solution is obtained as limit of solutions to some classical variational inequalities defined on domains becoming unbounded when some parameter tends to infinity. We obtain Alexandrov-Bakelman-Pucci type estimates for semicontinuous viscosity solutions of fully nonlinear elliptic inequalities in unbounded domains. Under suitable assumptions relating the geometry of the domain with structural conditions on the differential operator, we establish the validity of the weak maximum principle for solutions which are bounded from above. Two variants are also given, namely one for unbounded solutions in narrow domains and one for operators with possibly changing sign zero order coefficients in domains of small measure.  相似文献
