In this paper we consider a Walrasian pure exchange economy with utility function which is a particular case of a general economic equilibrium problem, without production. We assume that each agent is endowed with at least of a commodity, his preferences are expressed by an utility function and it prevails a competitive behaviour: each agent regards the prices payed and received as independent of his own choices. The Walrasian equilibrium can be characterized as a solution to a quasi-variational inequality. By using this variational approach, our goal is to prove an existence result of equilibrium solutions.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

We study the inverse problem of identifying a variable parameter in variational and quasi-variational inequalities. We consider a quasi-variational inequality involving a multi-valued monotone map and give a new existence result. We then formulate the inverse problem as an optimization problem and prove its solvability. We also conduct a thorough study of the inverse problem of parameter identification in noncoercive variational inequalities which appear commonly in applied models. We study the inverse problem by posing optimization problems using the output least-squares and the modified output least-squares. Using regularization, penalization, and smoothing, we obtain a single-valued parameter-to-selection map and study its differentiability. We consider optimization problems using the output least-squares and the modified output least-squares for the regularized, penalized and smoothened variational inequality. We give existence results, convergence analysis, and optimality conditions. We provide applications and numerical examples to justify the proposed framework.  相似文献

We consider here a type of pseudo-monotone parametric variational inequalities on a class of Banach spaces and show that such problems admit continuous (with respect to the parameter) solutions, as long as generic existence and uniqueness conditions for these solutions are satisfied. In particular, we show that such results are valid on a class of Banach spaces whenever we deal with strong pseudo-monotonicity, while others are valid in Hilbert spaces, whenever strict monotonicity is present. New existence results for the strong vector equilibrium problem are presented, relying on a well-known separation theorem in infinite-dimensional spaces. This paper shows that market equilibrium problems of production may generally be modelled as equilibrium flow problems in networks and that their equilibrium conditions can be visualized as a variational inequality. This connection would allow us to transplant directly elements of the well-developed theory of equilibrium flow in networks to the theory of market equilibrium.  相似文献

We study an abstract hyperbolic variational inequality with a (small) parameter and with time-dependent subdifferentials in a real Hilbert space. We prove that its solution converges to a solution of a parabolic variational inequality as the parameter tends to zero. In this paper, we consider a system of vector variational inequalities and a system of nonsmooth variational inequalities defined by means of Clarke directional derivative. We also consider the Nash equilibrium problem with vector pay-offs and its scalarized form. We present some relations among these systems and problems. The existence results for a solution of system of nonsmooth variational inequalities are given. As a consequence, we derive an existence result for a solution of Nash equilibrium problem with vector pay-offs.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the Ekeland type variational principle, a Caristi-Kirk type fixed point theorem and a maximal element theorem in the setting of uniform spaces. By using these results, we establish some existence results for solutions of quasi-variational inclusion problems, quasi-optimization problems and equilibrium problems defined on separated and sequentially complete uniformly spaces.  相似文献

This paper deals with the mathematical and numerical analysis of a class of abstract implicit evolution variational inequalities. The results obtained here can be applied to a large variety of quasistatic contact problems in linear elasticity, including unilateral contact or normal compliance conditions with friction. In particular, a quasistatic unilateral contact problem with nonlocal friction is considered. An algorithm is derived and some numerical examples are presented. This paper points out some fatal errors in the equivalent formulations used in Noor 2011 [Noor MA. Projection iterative methods for solving some systems of general nonconvex variational inequalities. Applied Analysis. 2011;90:777–786] and consequently in Noor 2009 [Noor MA. System of nonconvex variational inequalities. Journal of Advanced Research Optimization. 2009;1:1–10], Noor 2010 [Noor MA, Noor KI. New system of general nonconvex variational inequalities. Applied Mathematics E-Notes. 2010;10:76–85] and Wen 2010 [Wen DJ. Projection methods for a generalized system of nonconvex variational inequalities with different nonlinear operators. Nonlinear Analysis. 2010;73:2292–2297]. Since these equivalent formulations are the main tools to suggest iterative algorithms and to establish the convergence results, the algorithms and results in the aforementioned articles are not valid. It is shown by given some examples. To overcome with the problems in these papers, we consider a new system of extended regularized nonconvex variational inequalities, and establish the existence and uniqueness result for a solution of the aforesaid system. We suggest and analyse a new projection iterative algorithm to compute the unique solution of the system of extended regularized nonconvex variational inequalities which is also a fixed point of a nearly uniformly Lipschitzian mapping. Furthermore, the convergence analysis of the proposed iterative algorithm under some suitable conditions is studied. As a consequence, we point out that one can derive the correct version of the algorithms and results presented in the above mentioned papers.  相似文献

This paper introduces a vectorial form of equilibrium version of Ekeland-type variational principle. Some equivalent results to our variational principle are given. As applications, we derive the existence of solutions of a vector equilibrium problem in the setting of complete quasi-metric spaces with a W-distance. Caristi-Kirk fixed point theorem for multivalued maps is also established in a more general setting.  相似文献

Algorithms for nonlinear programming and variational inequality problems are, in general, only guaranteed to converge in the limit to a Karush-Kuhn-Tucker point, in the case of nonlinear programs, or to a solution in the case of variational inequalities. In this paper, we derive sufficient conditions for nonlinear programs with convex feasible sets such that any convergent algorithm can be modified, by adding a convex subproblem with a linear objective function, to guarantee finite convergence in a generalized sense. When the feasible set is polyhedral, the subproblem is a linear program and finite convergence is obtained. A class of stochastic weighted variational inequalities in non-pivot Hilbert spaces is proposed. Existence and continuity results are proved. These theoretical results play a prominent role in order to introduce a new weighted transportation model with uncertainty. Moreover, they allow to establish the equivalence between the random weighted equilibrium principle and a suitable stochastic weighted variational inequality. In this paper, we describe a useful class of finite-dimensional variational inequalities which we call partitionable. These variational inequalities are characterized by state functions which can be thought of as nonlinear separable functions added to antisymmetric linear functions. In the case of partitionable variational inequalities, questions of the monotonicity and coercivity of the state function can be addressed by considering the monotonicity and coercivity of a series of lower-dimensional functions. These functions are generally simpler to investigate than the state function. In the applications, these lower-dimensional functions are usually the natural functions to consider. To demonstrate, we conclude the paper by reviewing several models in the recent literature which give rise to partitionable variational inequalities.  相似文献

The auxiliary problem principle has been proposed by the first author as a framework to describe and analyze iterative algorithms such as gradient as well as decomposition/coordination algorithms for optimization problems (Refs. 1–3) and variational inequalities (Ref. 4). The key assumption to prove the global and strong convergence of such algorithms, as well as of most of the other algorithms proposed in the literature, is the strong monotony of the operator involved in the variational inequalities. In this paper, we consider variational inequalities defined over a product of spaces and we introduce a new property of strong nested monotony, which is weaker than the ordinary overall strong monotony generally assumed. In some sense, this new concept seems to be a minimal requirement to insure convergence of the algorithms alluded to above. A convergence theorem based on this weaker assumption is given.
