Using the linear mass spectrum of anSU (4) meson hexadecuplet, we derive the Gell-Mann-Okubo mass formula for the charmed mesons, in good agreement with experiment. We calculate the mdmumdmu contribution to the mass splittings in baryonic isospin multiplets using SU(3) chiral perturbation theory and lattice QCD. Fitting isospin-averaged perturbation theory functions to PACS-CS and QCDSF-UKQCD Collaboration lattice simulations of octet baryon masses, and using the physical light-quark mass ratio mu/mdmu/md as input, allows MnMpMnMp, MΣMΣ+MΣMΣ+ and MΞMΞ0MΞMΞ0 to be evaluated from the full SU(3) theory. The resulting values for each mass splitting are consistent with the experimental values after allowing for electromagnetic corrections. In the case of the nucleon, we find MnMp=2.9±0.4 MeVMnMp=2.9±0.4 MeV, with the dominant uncertainty arising from the error in mu/mdmu/md.  相似文献

A nuclear mass formula is derived using a few extremely reasonable assumptions within an independent particle model with residual interactions. The parameters in the mass formula are determined by a least square fit to the experimental energies. 原子核的手征对称性和空间反射对称性研究是近来原子核结构研究的前沿热点问题,吸引了大量的实验和理论研究。通过在束伽玛谱学的实验方法,在原子核78Br中发现了两对宇称相反的手征双重带,以及它们之间表征八极关联的电偶极跃迁。这是首次在原子核中发现了八极关联的多重手征带,给出了原子核存在手征对称性和空间反射对称性联立自发破缺的实验证据。Spontaneous symmetry breaking is a fundamental concept in nature. Chiral Symmetry Breaking and reflection-asymmetry in nuclei has been a subject of intensive experimental and theoretical investigation. Two pairs of positive-and negative-parity doublet bands together with eight strong electric dipole transitions linking their yrast positive-and negative-parity bands have been identified in 78Br by means of in-beam gamma-ray spectroscopy techniques. These four rotational bands are suggested as multiple chiral doublet bands with octupole correlations. This observation indicates that nuclear chirality can be robust against the octupole correlations. It is of highly scientific interest to search for the chirality-parity quartet bands in nucleus with both stable triaxial and octupole deformations.  相似文献

In three-dimensional quantum electrodynamics (QED3) with a massive gauge boson, we investigate the coupled Dyson-Schwinger equations for the fermion and photon propagators in the rainbow approximation, and obtain the critical gauge boson mass for various numbers of the fermion flavors. We provide evidence for the influence of thermal fluctuations of Goldstone modes on the chiral condensate at finite temperature. We show that at fixed temperature, T<Tc, in the vicinity of the chiral transition temperature this leads to a characteristic dependence of the chiral condensate on the square root of the light quark mass (ml), which is expected for 3-dimensional models with broken O(N) symmetry. As a consequence the chiral susceptibility shows a strong quark mass dependence for all temperatures below T<Tc and diverges like in the chiral limit.  相似文献

The in-medium quark condensate is studied with an equivalent-mass approach in which one does not need to make assumptions on the derivatives of model parameters with respect to the quark current mass. It is shown that the condensate is generally a decreasing function of both the density and
temperature with the decreasing speed depending on the confinement parameter. Specially, at given density, the condensate decreases on increasing temperature. The decreasing speed is comparatively small at lower temperature, and becomes very fast at higher temperature.  相似文献

Within the framework of Schwinger-Dyson and Bethe-Salpeter equations we investigate the importance of pions for the quark-gluon interaction. To this end we choose a truncation for the quark-gluon vertex that includes intermediate pion degrees of freedom and adjust the interaction such that unquenched lattice results for various current quark masses are reproduced. After extrapolation to the physical point we find a considerable contribution of the pion back reaction to the quark mass function as well as to the chiral condensate.  相似文献

Using the chiral symmetry spontaneous breaking Lagrangian with mean-field approximation, we investigate the in-medium quark condensate 〈qq〉. It is found that the condensate decreases as the nuclear matter density ρ increases. Meanwhile, the desent deviates from the linear decrease and becomes remarkably slow as the density of the nuclear matter further increases. It shows that the chiral symmetry spontaneous breaking is only partially restored in densed nuclear matter.  相似文献
