Pilot‐based coding (PBC), which is used for lossless bit rate reduction of audio coding, has been recently proposed for MPEG Surround. We propose extended PBC for further lossless bit rate reduction of MPEG Surround. Extended PBC selects the number of pilots depending on the parameter band number and the type of spatial parameter. It then encodes the pilots and the relevant difference data. Experiments show that extended PBC is more effective than the original PBC, especially for high bit rate modes, with a negligible complexity increase on the decoder side.  相似文献

Object‐based audio coding can provide new music applications with interactivity. To efficiently compress a lot of target audio objects, a subband‐based parametric coding scheme has been adopted for MPEG spatial audio object coding. In this letter, the time‐frequency (T/F) subband analysis structure is investigated. A reconfigured T/F structure is also proposed to enhance the generating performance of sound scenes such as ‘karaoke’ and ‘solo’ play in interactive music scenarios. From the experimental results, it was confirmed that the proposed scheme remarkably improves the SNR and sound quality.  相似文献

In this paper, an artificial stereo extension method that creates stereophonic sound from a mono sound source is proposed. The proposed method first trains deep neural networks (DNNs) that model the nonlinear relationship between the dominant and residual signals of the stereo channel. In the training stage, the band‐wise log spectral magnitude and unwrapped phase of both the dominant and residual signals are utilized to model the nonlinearities of each sub‐band through deep architecture. From that point, stereo extension is conducted by estimating the residual signal that corresponds to the input mono channel signal with the trained DNN model in a sub‐band domain. The performance of the proposed method was evaluated using a log spectral distortion (LSD) measure and multiple stimuli with a hidden reference and anchor (MUSHRA) test. The results showed that the proposed method provided a lower LSD and higher MUSHRA score than conventional methods that use hidden Markov models and DNN with full‐band processing.  相似文献

In this paper, a novel rate control scheme for low delay video coding of High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC) is proposed. The proposed scheme is developed by considering a new temporal prediction structure of HEVC. In the proposed scheme, the relationship between bit rate and quantization step is exploited firstly to formulate an accurate quadratic rate‐quantization (R‐Q) model. Secondly, a method of determining the quantization parameters (QPs) for the first frames within a group of pictures is proposed. Thirdly, an accurate frame‐level bit allocation method is proposed for HEVC. Finally, based on the proposed R‐Q model and the target bit allocated for the frame, the QPs are predicted for coding tree units by using rate‐distortion (R‐D) optimization. We compare our scheme against that of three other state‐of‐the‐art rate control schemes. Experimental results show that the proposed rate control scheme can increase the Bjøntegaard delta peak signal‐to‐noise ratio by 0.65 dB and 0.09 dB on average compared with the JCTVC‐I0094 and JCTVC‐M0036 schemes, respectively, both of which have been implemented in an HEVC test model encoder; furthermore, the proposed scheme achieves a similar R‐D performance to Wang's scheme, as well as obtaining the smallest bit rate mismatch error of all the schemes.  相似文献

In this study, we consider a location‐based location update (LU) scheme. We propose an enhanced LU (ELU) scheme that can store more cells to reduce the location update cost of the LU scheme and show that the ELU scheme always outperforms the LU scheme. We propose a homology between thermodynamic systems and images for the treatment of time‐varying imagery. A physical system colder than its surroundings absorbs heat from the surroundings. Furthermore, the absorbed heat increases the entropy of the system, which is closely related to its disorder as given by the definition of Clausius and Boltzmann. Because pixels of an image are viewed as a state of lattice‐like molecules in a thermodynamic system, the task of reckoning the entropy variations of pixels is similar to estimating their degrees of disorder. We apply this homology to the uncalibrated stereo matching problem. The absence of calibrations alleviates user efforts to install stereo cameras and enables users to freely modify the composition of the cameras. The proposed method is also robust to differences in brightness, white balancing, and even focusing between stereo image pairs. These peculiarities enable users to estimate the depths of interesting objects in practical applications without much effort in order to set and maintain a stereo vision setup. Users can consequently utilize two webcams as a stereo camera.  相似文献

In this work, we propose a coding technique that is based on the generalized block prediction of the multiresolution subband decomposition of motion compensated difference image frames. A segmentation mask is used to distinguish between the regions where motion compensation was effective and those regions where the motion model did not succeed. The difference image is decomposed into a multiresolution pyramid of subbands where the highest resolution subbands are divided into two regions, based on the information given by the segmentation mask. Only the coefficients of the regions corresponding to the motion model failure are considered in the highest resolution subbands. The remaining coefficients are coded using a multiresolution vector quantization scheme that exploits inter-band non-linear redundancy. In particular, blocks in one subimage are predicted from blocks of the adjacent lower resolution subimage with the same orientation. This set of blocks plays the role of a codebook built from coefficients inside the subband decomposition itself. Whenever the inter-band prediction does not give satisfactory results with respect to a target quality, the block coefficients are quantized using a lattice vector quantizer for a Laplacian source.  相似文献

Virtual source location information (VSLI) has been newly utilized as a spatial cue for compact representation of multichannel audio. This information is represented as the azimuth of the virtual source vector. 在分析了参数比特分配的基本原理的基础上,详细讨论了杜比AC-3编码器中参数比特分配算法的实现,对影响编码速度的参数选择部分作了改进,核心比特分配模型参数的快速增益可根据指数编码策略直接确定,信噪比偏移量SNR的计算可采用噪声预测方法估计粗SNR参数,这样使计算得到简化。将此算法应用到杜比AC-3编码器中进行仿真试验,对仿真结果进行主客观评价,显示编码质量令人满意,为杜比AC-3编码器的实时实现奠定了基础。  相似文献

Guaranteeing quality of service over a multihop wireless network is difficult because end‐to‐end (ETE) delay is accumulated at each hop in a multihop flow. Recently, research has been conducted on network coding (NC) schemes as an alternative mechanism to significantly increase the utilization of valuable resources in multihop wireless networks. This paper proposes a new section‐based joint NC and scheduling scheme that can reduce ETE delay and enhance resource efficiency in a multihop wireless network. Next, this paper derives the average ETE delay of the proposed scheme and simulates a TDMA network where the proposed scheme is deployed. Finally, this paper compares the performance of the proposed scheme with that of the conventional sequential scheduling scheme. From the performance analysis and simulation results, the proposed scheme gives more delay‐ and energy‐efficient slot assignments even if the NC operation is applied, resulting in a use of fewer network resources and a reduction in ETE delay.  相似文献

In this paper, we propose an adaptive multiview video coding scheme based on spatiotemporal correlation analyses using hierarchical B picture (AMVC‐HBP) for the integrative encoding performances, including high compression efficiency, low complexity, fast random access, and view scalability, by integrating multiple prediction structures. We also propose an in‐coding mode‐switching algorithm that enables AMVC‐HBP to adaptively select a better prediction structure in the encoding process without any additional complexity. Experimental results show that AMVC‐HBP outperforms the previous multiview video coding scheme based on H.264/MPEG‐4 AVC using the hierarchical B picture (MVC‐HBP) on low complexity for 21.5%, on fast random access for about 20%, and on view scalability for 11% to 15% on average. In addition, distinct coding gain can be achieved by AMVC‐HBP for dense and fast‐moving sequences compared with MVC‐HBP.  相似文献

Carbon‐based materials are widely used as light‐driven soft actuators relying on their thermal desorption or expansion. However, applying a passive layer in such film construction greatly limits the actuating efficiency, e.g., bending amplitude and speed. In this work, a dual active layer strengthened bilayer composite film made of graphene oxide (GO)–polydopamine (PDA)–gold nanoparticles (Au NPs)/polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) is developed. In this film, the conventional passive layer is replaced by another AuNPs‐enhanced thermal responsive layer. When applying NIR light exposure, the whole film deforms controllably resulting from the water loss in the GO–PDA–Au NPs layer and thermal expansion in the PDMS layer. Benefiting from the dual active bilayer mechanism, the thin film's actuating efficiency is dramatically improved compared with that of conventional methods. Specifically, the bending amplitude is enhanced up to 173%, and the actuating speed is improved to 3.5‐fold. The soft actuator can act as an artificial arm with high actuating strength and can be used as a wireless gripper. Moreover, the film can be designed as soft robots with various locomotion modes including linear, rolling, and steering motions. The developed composite film offers new opportunities for biomimetic soft robotics as well as future applications.  相似文献

Recent developments in identity‐based cryptography (IBC) have provided new solutions to problems related to the security of mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs). Although many proposals to solve problems related to the security of MANETs are suggested by the research community, there is no one solution that fits all. The interdependency cycle between secure routing and security services makes the use of IBC in MANETs very challenging. In this paper, two novel methods are proposed to eliminate the need for this cycle. One of these methods utilizes a key pool to secure routes for the distribution of cryptographic materials, while the other adopts a pairing‐based key agreement method. Furthermore, our proposed methods utilize threshold cryptography for shared secret and private key generation to eliminate the “single point of failure” and distribute cryptographic services among network nodes. These characteristics guarantee high levels of availability and scalability for the proposed methods. To illustrate the effectiveness and capabilities of the proposed methods, they are simulated and compared against the performance of existing methods.  相似文献

Fairness of exchange is a significant property for secure online transactions, and a fair exchange scheme is a useful tool for ensuring the fairness of exchanges conducted over networks. In this paper, we propose an ID‐based optimistic fair exchange scheme based on the RSA function, one which is designed by combining a well‐known RSA‐based signature scheme and the (naive) RSA function. Note that the main contribution of this paper is to give the first provably secure ID‐based fair exchange scheme based on the RSA function, whose security can be proved under fully formalized security models. Our scheme has the following additional strongpoints. The scheme is setup‐free; hence, there is no registration step between a user and an arbitrator. Moreover, the proposed scheme is designed in an ID‐based setting; thus, it is possible to eliminate the need for certificates and avoid some related problems.  相似文献

Spatial audio coding (SAC) is an extremely high compact representation of encoded multi‐channel audio material. This paper suggests a multi‐channel audio service in the terrestrial digital multimedia broadcasting (T‐DMB) system using a novel SAC tool, which is called a virtual source location information (VSLI)‐based SAC tool. Intensive experiments are presented to evaluate the validity of the proposed VSLI‐based SAC tool, and prototypical systems are also presented to demonstrate the reliability of the proposed multi‐channel T‐DMB system in real applications.  相似文献

Colloidal quantum‐dot light‐emitting diodes (QDLEDs) with the HfO2/SiO2‐distributed Bragg reflector (DBR) structure are fabricated using a pulsed spray coating method. Pixelated RGB arrays, 2‐in. wafer‐scale white light emission, and an integrated small footprint white light device are demonstrated. The experimental results show that the intensity of red, green, and blue (RGB) emission exhibited considerable enhancement because of the high reflectivity in the UV region by the DBR structure, which subsequently increases the use in the UV optical pumping of RGB QDs. A pulsed spray coating method is crucial in providing uniform RGB layers, and the polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) film is used as the interface layer between each RGB color to avoid cross‐contamination and self‐assembly of QDs. Furthermore, the chromaticity coordinates of QDLEDs with the DBR structure remain constant under various pumping powers in the large area sample, whereas a larger shift toward high color temperatures is observed in the integrated device. The resulting color gamut of the proposed QDLEDs covers an area 1.2 times larger than that of the NTSC standard, which is favorable for the next generation of high‐quality display technology.  相似文献
