Lifetimes of the yrast levels with spins I π = 23/2? to 39/2? in 129La produced via the 120Sn(14N, 5n) reaction at a beam energy of 77MeV have been measured by the Doppler shift attenuation method. The properties of the studied levels belonging to the πh11/2 band were compared with the theoretical predictions obtained in the framework of the core quasi-particle coupling model. It is suggested that the rigid-rotor model used to describe the cores is too simplified as the even-even nuclei from the A ~ 130 region are susceptible to shape deformation. Reasonable agreement was obtained with the phenomenological cores based on the experimental data of 128Ba.  相似文献

Using ab initio calculations, we have studied the structural, electronic and elastic properties of M2SC, with M = Ti, Zr and Hf. Geometrical optimization of the unit cell are in good agreement with the available experimental data. The band structures show that all three materials are conducting. The analysis of the site and momentum projected densities shows that the bonding is achieved through a hybridization of M-atom d states with S and C-atom p states. The Md-Sp bonds are lower in energy and are stiffer than Md-Cp bonds. The elastic constants are calculated using the static finite strain technique. We derived the bulk and shear moduli, Young's moduli and Poisson's ratio for ideal polycrystalline M2SC aggregates. We estimated the Debye temperature of M2SC from the average sound velocity. This is a quantitative theoretical prediction of the elastic properties of Ti2SC, Zr2SC, and Hf2SC compounds, and it still awaits experimental confirmation.  相似文献

We present cyclotron resonance measurements in pure Te for B 6 c in the Voigt configuration under uniaxial stress p 6 c up to 2·109 dyn/cm2. The maximum shift of the resonance line of about 10 per cent is interpreted as change of the band structure. Shift and line shape are in good agreement with theoretical predictions.  相似文献

The mean lifetime of the 0.78 MeV first excited state in 209Pb was measured by the recoil distance method to be τm = 11.1±1.3 ps. The B(M1) for the l-forbidden transition is in good agreement with one of several recent theoretical predictions.  相似文献

The directional correlations ofγ-γ andγ-electron cascades in119Sb are measured, in the decay of119mTe. Bothγ-γ andγ-electron directional correlation coefficients are determined for the cascades (energies in keV): 153.5-1212.7, 942.3-270.5, (976.2+979.3)-270.5, 1095.7-270.5 and 1136.8-270.5. For the cascades 912.6-1366.2, 2013.4-270.5 and 2089.9-270.5γ-γ directional correlations are measured. The mixing ratios evaluated are:δ(M2/E1, 153.5 keV)=0.0003±0.0023,δ(E2/M1, 270.5 keV)=-0.39±0.29,δ(E2/M1, 942.3 keV)= ?0.26±0.12,δ(E3/M2,1095.7 keV)=?0.01±0.07, andδ(M3/E2,1212.7 keV) =0.004±0.007. The result is compared with theoretical predictions.  相似文献

The ground-state band of159Tb has been Coulomb excited up to spin 23/2 by 151-MeV40Ar ions. The lifetimes of the 9/2 to 23/2 levels have been determined by combining results obtained with the RD and DSA methods, theE2/M1 mixing ratios for ΔI=1 transitions have been measured using angular correlation techniques and the branching ratios for the levels up to spin 17/2 have been determined. The energies of the levels and the reducedM1 andE2 transition probabilities for their decay have been compared with the predictions of the rotational model, without and with ΔK=1 admixtures. No satisfactory agreement could be achieved for all available experimental data simultaneously.  相似文献

Analysis of the absorption spectrum of O2 in the Schumann-Runge bands (B3Σu?-X3Σg?) from the 2-0 to the 13-0 band yields oscillator strengths which are in good agreement with past theoretical calculations. Predissociation linewidths deduced from the data tend to be larger than theoretical predictions for v′ ≤ 5 and are reasonably near theory for v′ > 5. The qualitative dependence of the linewidths on vibrational level is in accord with that expected for a repulsive potential intersecting the B3Σ state near v′ = 4. For a given band the predissociation linewidth deduced from the spectra tends to increase as the total angular momentum increases. The new linewidths are smaller than some past experimental results, and this will have an impact on future calculations of the photodissociation rates of O2, NO, and H2O in the earth's upper atmosphere.  相似文献

Coherent production ofρ ? mesons in charged current antineutrino interactions on neon nuclei is studied in the BEBC bubble chamber exposed to the CERN SPS wide band beam. The cross section is measured to be (95±25)·10?40 cm2 per neon nucleus, averaged over the beam energy spectrum. The distributions of kinematical variables and the absolute value of the cross section are in agreement with theoretical predictions based on the CVC hypothesis and the vector meson dominance model.  相似文献

The extrapolation of small-cluster exact-diagonalization calculations is used to study the influence of doping on valence transitions in the spinless Falicov-Kimball model at nonzero temperatures. Two types of doping are examined, and namely, the substitution of rare-earth ions by nonmagnetic ions that introduce (i) one or (ii) none additional electron (per nonmagnetic ion) into the conduction band. It is found that the first type of substitution increases the average f-state occupancy of rare-earth ions, whereas the second type of substitution has the opposite effect. The results obtained are used to describe valence transition behavior of samarium in the hexaboride solid solutions Sm1−xMxB6 (M=Y3+, La3+, Sr2+, Yb2+) and a very good agreement of theoretical and experimental results is found.  相似文献

The new experiment planned at Brookhaven to measure the anomalous magnetic moment of the muona μ≡(g μ?2)/2 will improve the present accuracy of 7 ppm by about a factor of 20. This requires a careful reconsideration of the theoretical uncertainties of theg?2 predictions, which are dominated by the error of the contribution from the light quarks to the photon vacuum polarization. This issue is cruicial also for the precise determination of the running fine structure constant at theZ-peak as LEP/SLC experiments continue to increase their precision. In this paper we present an updated analysis of the hadronic vacuum polarization using all presently availablee +e? data. This seems to be justified because previous work on the subject was based to some extent on preliminary or incomplete experimental data. Contributions from different energy ranges are presented separately forg?2 of the muon and the τ-lepton and for α(M Z 2 ). We obtain the resultsa μ had* =(725±16)×10?10 anda τ had* =(351±10)×10?8, where the asterisk indicates the dressed (renormalization group improved) value. For the effective fine structure constant atM Z=91.1888 GeV we obtainΔα had (5) =0.0280±0.0007 and α(M Z 2 )?1=128.896±0.090. Further improvement in the accuracy of theoretical predictions which depend on the hadronic vacuum polarization requires more precise measurements ofe +e? cross-sections at energies below about 12 GeV in future experiments.  相似文献

Mean lifetimes of the high spin states in the yrast band of 126Ba were measured by using the Doppler shift attenuation method in connection with the reaction 116Sn (16O, 2p4n)126Ba at a beam energy of 73 MeV. The corresponding normalized B(E2) values are obviously reduced in the vicinity of the backbending. Results from a study of the 18O(6Li, d)22Ne reaction at a 6Li energy of 32 MeV are reported. The L-dependence of the shapes of the measured angular distributions provide a check on recent Jπ assignments for some of the high-lying levels in 22Ne. A finite range distorted wave analysis assuming a direct cluster transfer has been used to extract from the data α-particle spectroscopic strengths for most of the natural parity levels populated below 8 MeV of excitation. These strengths are compared with theoretical predictions for those few states for which a definite correspondence can be made between the calculated and experimental levels of 22Ne. For transitions to the members of the ground-state band, the observed strengths disagree with the predictions. This disagreement has also been observed in the 16O(6Li, d) reaction and its cause is not understood. It is in marked contrast with the good agreement found for (6Li, d) reactions on targets of mass 20 ≦ A ≦ 24.  相似文献

The band structures of the doubly odd 138Pr nucleus have been investigated using the 128Te(14N, 4n)138Pr reaction at a beam energy of 55-65 MeV. Altogether six distinct structures have been established, of which the lower part of the yrast band and two side bands were known from earlier works. The observed level properties of the members of the yrast band have been compared with theoretical calculations performed within the Particle Rotor Model (PRM) with axially symmetric core. The experimental branching ratios and B(M1)/B(E2) values when compared with the theoretical results of the PRM, suggest an oblate core.  相似文献

In the present talk I will discuss some ‘rare’ aspects of the E2 band structures and the novel features concerning the dipole bands in this mass region. Reliable and accurate lifetimes have been measured using coincidence recoil distance method. The results of 129,130Ba will be discussed. In contrast to the predictions of the tilted axis cranking model, the dipole bands in Sb-Xe-Ba nuclei can be nicely described as high-K prolate bands. New data from multi-detector arrays has established extended bands structure, their decay to low lying states have been established and the angular correlation supports the predominant, ΔI=1 character. Finally the sensitive measures, i.e. B(M1) rates of the tilted axis model are compared with the high-K formula based on 1-dim cranking model.  相似文献

The optical absorption (OA) and photoluminescence (hereafter referred to as luminescence) studies were made on CaF2:Dy:Pb:Na single crystals (Dy—0.005 at%, Pb—0.188 at% and Na—0.007 at%) before and after γ-irradiation. The unirradiated crystal exhibited a strong OA band around 6.36 eV attributed to the ‘A’ band absorption of Pb2+ ions. The γ-irradiated crystal exhibited OA bands around 2.06, 3.28, 3.75 (broad shoulder) and 2.48 eV. The first three bands could be tentatively attributed to MNa centre when compared with that of the coloured CaF2:Na. The origin of 2.48 eV band was not explicitly known. Luminescence emission and excitation of Pb2+ and Dy3+ ions were negligible in the unirradiated crystal. Irradiated crystal exhibited a strong excitation spectrum with overlapping bands, due to different colour centres, in the UV-vis region for the 2.15 eV emission characteristic of Dy3+ ion. When excited, the absorbed energy (may be a part) was transferred from a colour centre to nearby Dy3+ ions and Dy3+ characteristic emission was observed. Exciting the irradiated crystal around 3.28 eV yielded emission at 2.56, 2.15 and 1.76 eV. The first two emission bands were due to Dy3+ ions. The excitation spectrum for the 1.76 eV emission showed two prominent bands around 2.02 and 3.08 eV and hence the emission was attributed to the MNa centre. The luminescence mechanism was described.  相似文献

Lifetimes of yrast levels with spins Iπ = 23/2--43/2- in 131La populated in the 122Sn(14N, 5n) reaction at a beam energy of 70MeV are measured by the Doppler Shift Attenuation method. A model of side-feeding population is presented. The model parameters are determined in an experiment based on the lineshape of γ-transitions from two highest spin levels and from the intensity distribution along the yrast band. The properties of the h11/2 band in 131La are compared with the theoretical predictions obtained in the framework of the Core-Quasi-Particle Coupling and the self-consistent Total Routhian Surface models.  相似文献

From classical in-beam spectroscopy on the106Cd+12C reaction, unambiguousγ-ray assignments have been done for116Xe,116I and116Te nuclei. The ground band levels observed in116Xe have been compared to those of heavier even-even xenon isotopes and to the IBA theoretical predictions. In addition, using the newγ-ray assignments, evaporation cross-sections of the118Xe compound nucleus have been estimated and compared to the evaporation model calculations.  相似文献

We investigate the finite size corrections to the equilibrium magnetization of an Ising model on a random graph with N nodes and Nγ edges, with 1<γ≤2. By conveniently rescaling the coupling constant, the free energy is made extensive. As expected, the system displays a phase transition of the mean-field type for all the considered values of γ at the transition temperature of the fully connected Curie-Weiss model. Finite size corrections are investigated for different values of the parameter γ, using two different approaches: a replica based finite N expansion, and a cavity method. Numerical simulations are compared with theoretical predictions. The cavity based analysis is shown to agree better with numerics.  相似文献
