In this paper, we introduce several classes of generalized convex functions already discussed in the literature and show the relation between these classes. Moreover, a Gordan–Farkas type theorem is proved for all these classes and it is shown how these theorems can be used to verify strong Lagrangian duality results in finite-dimensional optimization.  相似文献

Geometric consideration of duality in vector optimization   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
Recently, duality in vector optimization has been attracting the interest of many researchers. In order to derive duality in vector optimization, it seems natural to introduce some vector-valued Lagrangian functions with matrix (or linear operator, in some cases) multipliers. This paper gives an insight into the geometry of vector-valued Lagrangian functions and duality in vector optimization. It is observed that supporting cones for convex sets play a key role, as well as supporting hyperplanes, traditionally used in single-objective optimization. The author would like to express his sincere gratitude to Prof. T. Tanino of Tohoku University and to some anonymous referees for their valuable comments.  相似文献

We deal with duality for almost convex finite dimensional optimization problems by means of the classical perturbation approach. To this aim some standard results from the convex analysis are extended to the case of almost convex sets and functions. The duality for some classes of primal-dual problems is derived as a special case of the general approach. The sufficient regularity conditions we need for guaranteeing strong duality are proved to be similar to the ones in the convex case. Using the concept of vector-valued Lagrangian functions, we characterize a special class of solutions,D-solutions, of a multiobjective programming problem with set functions in which the domination structure is described by a closed convex coneD. Properties of two perturbation functions, primal map and dual map, are also studied. Results lead to a general duality theorem. The authors greatly appreciate helpful and valuable comments and suggestions received from the referee.  相似文献

In this paper, we propose a duality theory for semi-infinite linear programming problems under uncertainty in the constraint functions, the objective function, or both, within the framework of robust optimization. We present robust duality by establishing strong duality between the robust counterpart of an uncertain semi-infinite linear program and the optimistic counterpart of its uncertain Lagrangian dual. We show that robust duality holds whenever a robust moment cone is closed and convex. We then establish that the closed-convex robust moment cone condition in the case of constraint-wise uncertainty is in fact necessary and sufficient for robust duality. In other words, the robust moment cone is closed and convex if and only if robust duality holds for every linear objective function of the program. In the case of uncertain problems with affinely parameterized data uncertainty, we establish that robust duality is easily satisfied under a Slater type constraint qualification. Consequently, we derive robust forms of the Farkas lemma for systems of uncertain semi-infinite linear inequalities.  相似文献

In this paper we deal with strong Fenchel duality for infinite-dimensional optimization problems where both feasible set and objective function are evenly convex. To this aim, via perturbation approach, a conjugation scheme for evenly convex functions, based on generalized convex conjugation, is used. The key is to extend some well-known results from convex analysis, involving the sum of the epigraphs of two conjugate functions, the infimal convolution and the sum formula of ??-subdifferentials for lower semicontinuous convex functions, to this more general framework.  相似文献

The zero duality gap that underpins the duality theory is one of the central ingredients in optimisation. In convex programming, it means that the optimal values of a given convex program and its associated dual program are equal. It allows, in particular, the development of efficient numerical schemes. However, the zero duality gap property does not always hold even for finite-dimensional problems and it frequently fails for problems with non-polyhedral constraints such as the ones in semidefinite programming problems. Over the years, various criteria have been developed ensuring zero duality gaps for convex programming problems. In the present work, we take a broader view of the zero duality gap property by allowing it to hold for each choice of linear perturbation of the objective function of the given problem. Globalising the property in this way permits us to obtain complete geometric dual characterisations of a stable zero duality gap in terms of epigraphs and conjugate functions. For convex semidefinite programs, we establish necessary and sufficient dual conditions for stable zero duality gaps, as well as for a universal zero duality gap in the sense that the zero duality gap property holds for each choice of constraint right-hand side and convex objective function. Zero duality gap results for second-order cone programming problems are also given. Our approach makes use of elegant conjugate analysis and Fenchel's duality.  相似文献

In this article we discuss weak and strong duality properties of convex semi-infinite programming problems. We use a unified framework by writing the corresponding constraints in a form of cone inclusions. The consequent analysis is based on the conjugate duality approach of embedding the problem into a parametric family of problems parameterized by a finite-dimensional vector.  相似文献

In this paper, we introduce an augmented Lagrangian function for a multiobjective optimization problem with an extended vector-valued function. On the basis of this augmented Lagrangian, set-valued dual maps and dual optimization problems are constructed. Weak and strong duality results are obtained. Necessary and sufficient conditions for uniformly exact penalization and exact penalization are established. Finally, comparisons of saddle-point properties are made between a class of augmented Lagrangian functions and nonlinear Lagrangian functions for a constrained multiobjective optimization problem.  相似文献

Lagrangian Duality for Minimization of Nonconvex Multifunctions   总被引:10,自引:0,他引:10
Two alternative type theorems for nearly convexlike or * quasiconvex multifunctions are presented. They are used to derive Lagrangian conditions and duality results for vector optimization problems when the objectives and the constraints are nearly convexlike or * quasiconvex multifunctions.  相似文献

A general duality framework in convex multiobjective optimization is established using the scalarization with K-strongly increasing functions and the conjugate duality for composed convex cone-constrained optimization problems. Other scalarizations used in the literature arise as particular cases and the general duality is specialized for some of them, namely linear scalarization, maximum (-linear) scalarization, set scalarization, (semi)norm scalarization and quadratic scalarization.   相似文献

In this paper we present a robust duality theory for generalized convex programming problems in the face of data uncertainty within the framework of robust optimization. We establish robust strong duality for an uncertain nonlinear programming primal problem and its uncertain Lagrangian dual by showing strong duality between the deterministic counterparts: robust counterpart of the primal model and the optimistic counterpart of its dual problem. A robust strong duality theorem is given whenever the Lagrangian function is convex. We provide classes of uncertain non-convex programming problems for which robust strong duality holds under a constraint qualification. In particular, we show that robust strong duality is guaranteed for non-convex quadratic programming problems with a single quadratic constraint with the spectral norm uncertainty under a generalized Slater condition. Numerical examples are given to illustrate the nature of robust duality for uncertain nonlinear programming problems. We further show that robust duality continues to hold under a weakened convexity condition.  相似文献

Convex composite multi-objective nonsmooth programming   总被引:4,自引:0,他引:4
This paper examines nonsmooth constrained multi-objective optimization problems where the objective function and the constraints are compositions of convex functions, and locally Lipschitz and Gâteaux differentiable functions. Lagrangian necessary conditions, and new sufficient optimality conditions for efficient and properly efficient solutions are presented. Multi-objective duality results are given for convex composite problems which are not necessarily convex programming problems. Applications of the results to new and some special classes of nonlinear programming problems are discussed. A scalarization result and a characterization of the set of all properly efficient solutions for convex composite problems are also discussed under appropriate conditions. This research was partially supported by the Australian Research Council grant A68930162.This author wishes to acknowledge the financial support of the Australian Research Council.  相似文献

Lagrangian bounds, i.e. bounds computed by Lagrangian relaxation, have been used successfully in branch and bound bound methods for solving certain classes of nonconvex optimization problems by reducing the duality gap. We discuss this method for the class of partly linear and partly convex optimization problems and, incidentally, point out incorrect results in the recent literature on this subject.  相似文献

On duality theory in multiobjective programming   总被引:5,自引:0,他引:5
In this paper, we study different vector-valued Lagrangian functions and we develop a duality theory based upon these functions for nonlinear multiobjective programming problems. The saddle-point theorem and the duality theorem are derived for these problems under appropriate convexity assumptions. We also give some relationships between multiobjective optimizations and scalarized problems. A duality theory obtained by using the concept of vector-valued conjugate functions is discussed. The author is grateful to the reviewer for many valuable comments and helpful suggestions.  相似文献

Many polynomial and discrete optimization problems can be reduced to multiextremal quadratic type models of nonlinear programming. For solving these problems one may use Lagrangian bounds in combination with branch and bound techniques. The Lagrangian bounds may be improved for some important examples by adding in a model the so-called superfluous quadratic constraints which modify Lagrangian bounds. Problems of finding Lagrangian bounds as a rule can be reduced to minimization of nonsmooth convex functions and may be successively solved by modern methods of nondifferentiable optimization. This approach is illustrated by examples of solving polynomial-type problems and some discrete optimization problems on graphs.  相似文献

We give some necessary and sufficient conditions which completely characterize the strong and total Lagrange duality, respectively, for convex optimization problems in separated locally convex spaces. We also prove similar statements for the problems obtained by perturbing the objective functions of the primal problems by arbitrary linear functionals. In the particular case when we deal with convex optimization problems having infinitely many convex inequalities as constraints the conditions we work with turn into the so-called Farkas-Minkowski and locally Farkas-Minkowski conditions for systems of convex inequalities, recently used in the literature. Moreover, we show that our new results extend some existing ones in the literature.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with the study of optimality conditions for disjunctive fractional minmax programming problems in which the decision set can be considered as a union of a family of convex sets. Dinkelbach’s global optimization approach for finding the global maximum of the fractional programming problem is discussed. Using the Lagrangian function definition for this type of problem, the Kuhn–Tucker saddle point and stationary-point problems are established. In addition, via the concepts of Mond–Weir type duality and Schaible type duality, a general dual problem is formulated and some weak, strong and converse duality theorems are proven.  相似文献
