A simple, sensitive and rapid spectrophotometric method was developed for the determination of thallium(III) using trifluoperazine hydrochloride (TFPH). The method is based on the oxidation of TFPH by thallium(III) in a phosphoric acid medium to form a red-colored radical cation with an absorption maximum at 505 nm. Beer's law is valid over the concentration range of 0.5 - 6.5 microg ml(-1) of thallium(III). The molar absorptivity and Sandell's sensitivity of the color system are 2.14 x 10(4) l mol(-1) cm(-1) and 0.0095 microg cm(-2), respectively. The optimum reaction conditions and other analytical parameters were evaluated. The tolerance limit of the method towards various ions usually associated with thallium has been studied. The proposed method has been successfully applied to the analysis of thallium in alloys, minerals, standard reference material, water, and urine samples.  相似文献

The bidentate ligand diformylhydrazine (OHC-HN-NH-CHO), DFH, combines with iron(II) and iron(III) in alkaline media in the pH range 7.3-9.3 to form an intensely colored red-purple iron(III) complex with an absorption maximum at 470 nm. Beer's law is obeyed for iron concentrations from 0.25 to 13 microg mL(-1). The molar absorptivity was in the range 0.3258x10(4)-0.3351x10(4) L mol(-1) cm(-1) and Sandell's sensitivity was found to be 0.0168 microg cm(-2). The method has been applied to the determination of iron in industrial waste, ground water, and pharmaceutical samples.  相似文献

A simple, sensitive and selective chemiluminescence (CL) method was developed for the direct determination of aluminum (Al). This method is based on that the weak CL of cerium (IV)-calcein can be greatly enhanced by Al(III). The calibration curve was linear over the range 2.0 x 10(-10) to 4.0 x 10(-8)g mL(-1) with a detection limit of 8 x 10(-11)g mL(-1) (3sigma). The R.S.D. was 2.5% by 11 replicated determinations of 1.0 x 10(-9)g mL(-1) Al(III). The proposed method has been used to determine the concentration of Al(III) in real water samples with satisfactory results. The mechanism of the CL reaction was also discussed.  相似文献

A novel fluorescent polyvinyl alcohol keto-derivatives nanoparticle (PVAK) has been prepared in one-step method. The nanoparticles has excitation and emission maxima at 349 and 462 nm, respectively. Based on the fluorescence quenching of PVAK by Cr(VI), we established a simple and selective fluorimetric method for the determination of Cr(VI) without separation of Cr(III) in water. The reaction conditions between Cr(VI) and PVAK were investigated in detail. Furthermore, the reaction mechanism between PVAK and Cr(VI) was also discussed. Under optimal experimental conditions, a limit of detection of 0.02 microg mL(-1) was achieved. The calibration curve was linear over the concentration range 0.1-13.2 microg mL(-1) with a correlation coefficient of 0.9987. The proposed method has been applied to the selective quantification of Cr(VI) in synthetic samples and waste-water samples with the satisfactory results.  相似文献

A new sensitive chromogenic reagent, 9,10-phenanthaquinone monoethylthiosemicarbazone (PET), has been synthesized and used in the spectrophotometric determination of Tl(III). In HNO3, H2SO4 or H3PO4 acids, PET can react immediately at room temperature with Tl(III) to form a red 2:1 complex with a maximum absorption at 516 nm. The different analytical parameters affecting the extraction and determination processes have been examined. The calibration curve was found to be linear over the range 0.2-10 microg cm(-3) with a molar absorptivity of 2.2 x 10(4) dm3 mol(-1) cm(-1). Sandell's sensitivity was found to be 0.0093 microg cm(-2). No interference from macroamounts of foreign ions was detected, except for Pd(II). However, Pd(II) does not affect the determination process, because its complex with PET has its lambda(max) at 625 nm. The proposed method has been applied to the determination of Tl(I and III) in synthetic and natural samples after separation by flotation (in oleic acid/kerosene) and solid-phase extraction (on polyurethane foam) techniques. The two methods were found to be accurate and not subject to random error, but solid-phase extraction was preferred because it is cheap, simpler and there is no contamination risk coming from flotation reagents.  相似文献

The solution properties of nickel complex with 4-(2'-benzo-thiazolylazo) salicylic acid (BTAS) have been studied by zero-order absorption spectrophotometry in 40% (v/v) ethanol at 20 degrees C and an ionic strength of 0.1 mol dm(-3) (KNO(3)). The equilibria that exist in solution were established and the basic characteristics of complexes formed were determined. A new direct spectrophotometric method for the determination of trace amounts of the nickel is proposed based on the formation of the Ni (BTAS) complex at pH 7.0. The absorption maximum, molar absorbtivity, and Sandell's sensitivity of 1:1 (M:L) complex are 525 nm, 0.6 x 10(4) l mol(-1) cm(-1) and 2.824 x 10(-9) microg cm(-2), respectively. The use of first-derivative spectrophotometry eliminates the interference of iron and enables the simultaneous determination of nickel and iron using BTAS. Quantitative determination of Ni(II) and Fe(III) is possible in the range (0.59-7.08) and (2.1-8.4) microg ml(-1), respectively with a relative standard deviation of 0.5%. The proposed method has been successfully applied to the simultaneous spectrophotometric determination of nickel and iron in steel alloys and aluminum alloys.  相似文献

A excellent sensitive and selective method for spectrophotometric determination of trace gold has been developed, the method is based on the color reaction of gold(III) with new reagent 5-(2-hydroxy-5-nitrophenylazo)rhodanine (HNAR). Under optimal conditions, HNAR reacts with gold(III) to form a 1:5 orange complex, which has an maximum absorption peak at 480 nm. Maximum enhancement of the absorbance of the complex was obtained in the presence of the mixed surfactant of Triton X-100 and CTMAB; the reaction completed rapidly and the absorbance is stable for 5 h at least at 20 degrees C; 0-48 microg L(-1) Au(III) obeyed Beer's law. The apparent molar absorptivity of the complex, Sandell's sensitivity, the limit of quantification, the limit of detection and relative standard deviation were found to be 2.0x10(6) L mol(-1) cm(-1), 0.000,098,483 micro g cm(-2), 1.02 ng mL(-1), 0.35 ng mL(-1) and 1.09%, respectively. The effect of co-existing ions was studied seriously; most metal ions can be tolerated in considerable amounts. Its sensitivity and selectivity are remarkably superior to other reagents in the literature. The proposed method was used successfully to determine trace gold in geological samples. Moreover, the synthesis, characteristics and analytical reaction of HNAR with gold are also described in detail.  相似文献

The synthesis of 5-(4-sodium sulphonatephenylazo)-8-aminoquinoline (SPAQ) is described, and a simple, rapid, selective and sensitive new spectrophotometric method for determination of gold is developed. SPAQ reacts with gold(III), and in the presence of cetyl trimethyl ammonium bromide cationic surfactant and upon making the solution alkaline, forms a blue-green 1:3 (metal:ligand) with an absorption maximum at 605 nm. Beer's law is obeyed over the concentration range 0-2 microg/ml gold. The molar absorptivity and Sandell's sensitivity of the method are 1.48 x 10(5) 1.mole(-1).cm(-1) and 0.0013 microg/cm(2), respectively. The interference of various ions has been studied and the method has been used for the determination of microamounts of gold in ores and anode slimes.  相似文献

Electrothermal vaporization-inductively coupled plasma-atomic emission spectrometry (ETV-ICP-ES) has been used for the sequential determination of Cr(III) and Cr(VI). The method is based on the difference between the chelate reactions of the two Cr species and acetylacetone. Cr(III) chelate was separated from Cr(VI) and determined with use of acetylacetone as chemical modifier. The retained Cr(VI) in graphite tube was analyzed subsequently, after addition of polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) as chemical modifier. The different factors affecting the vaporization behavior of Cr(III) acetylacetonate were investigated in detail. The detection limits for Cr (III) and Cr(VI) were 0.56 and 1.4 ng mL(-1), respectively, and relative standard deviations for 0.1 microg mL(-1) Cr(III) and 0.1 microg mL(-1) Cr(VI) were 2.5% (n = 6) and 4.8% (n = 6), respectively. The linear ranges of the calibration curve for both Cr(IIl) and Cr(VI) covered three orders of magnitude. The proposed method was used to analyze water samples with satisfactory results.  相似文献

A simple, rapid, and sensitive validated spectrophotometric method was developed for the determination of certain macrolide antibiotics namely, erythromycin (I), azithromycin dihydrate (II), clarithromycin (III), and roxithromycin (IV) in bulk powders, pharmaceutical formulations, and spiked biological fluids. The proposed method is based on the formation of a binary complex between each of the studied drugs and eosin Y in aqueous buffered medium. Under the optimum conditions, the binary complexes showed absorption maxima at 542-544 nm. The absorbance of the binary complexes obeyed Beer's law over the concentration range of 1-10 micro/g/mL for II, 2-20 microg/mL for I and IV, and 3-30 microg/mL for III. The mean percentage recoveries were 100.04 +/- 0.83, 99.98 +/- 0.80, 100.17 +/- 0.91, and 99.55 +/- 0.91, with minimum detectable molarities of 2 x 10(-7) for I and II, 4 x 10(-7) for III, and 3 x 10(-7) for IV. The different experimental parameters affecting the development and stability of the colors were studied and optimized. The proposed method was successfully applied to the analysis of the cited drugs in some pharmaceutical formulations. The results obtained were in good agreement with those obtained using the reference methods. The proposed method was further applied to spiked human urine and plasma. A proposal of the reaction pathway is suggested.  相似文献

A spectrophotometric procedure is suggested for the determination of Cr(III). The reaction between Cr(III) and 2-(5-bromo-2-pyridylazo)-5-dimethylaminophenol is accelerated by sodium dodecyl sulphate(SDS), sodium benzoate causes a further increase in the absorbance of the chelate. The optimum pH range for the reaction is 5-5.8(benzoate buffer). The chelate exhibits maximum absorbance at 590 nm, obeys Beer's law over the concentration range 0.02-0.56 microg/ml of Cr(III), has molar absorptivity of 7.8 x 10(4) 1. mol(-1) cm(-1) and a Sandell sensitivity of 0.66 ng/cm. The metal to ligand ratio is 1:2 in the absence of SDS and 1:1 in its presence. A procedure for the determination of Cr(III) and Cr(VI), when present together, is described. The method has been applied to the analysis of Cr(III) in tap water.  相似文献

A simple and accurate micellanized spectrophotometric method for determination of trace amounts of Cr(III) ion in tab and top water and a synthetic mixture has been described. The micellar method is based on effect of organized molecular assemblies such as micelles in spectrophotometric measurement due to their effect on the systems of interest. The ability of micellar system in solubilizing of sparingly soluble ligand or complexes has been used for increasing figures of merit of an analytical method. Due to solubility increasing in aqueous media requirement for a primary extraction can be eliminated. Using the alpha-benzoin oxime (alpha-BO) spectrophotometric determination of Cr(III) ion has been performed and results are compared. The spectrophotometric determination of Cr(III) ion using alpha-BO in the presence of non-ionic surfactant Triton X-100 has been performed. The influence of type and amount of surfactant, pH, complexation time and amount of ligand were examined. Finally, the repeatability, accuracy and the effect of interfering ions on the determination of Cr(III) ion was evaluated. The proposed methods successfully with recovery yield of almost 100% have been applied to the rapid and simple determination of Cr(III) ion in the real samples. There is a good agreement between methods and atomic absorption spectrometry. The Beers law is obeyed over the concentration range of 0.1-13.7 microg mL(-1) for micellar media. The detection limit is 0.8 ng mL(-1). The molar absorptivity of complex is 5350 L mol(-1) cm(-1).  相似文献

An RP-HPLC method for the separation and determination of aluminium(III), vanadium(V), iron(III), copper(II) and nickel(II) with CALKS (Chromazol KS) and PAR ([4-(2-pyridylazo)resorcinol]) chelating on a YWG-ODS column was developed. A mixture of methanol-tetrahydrofuran(THF)-water (60:5:35 v/v) containing 0.2 mol/L LiCl, 5 x 10(-5) mol/L CALKS, 5 x 10(-5) mol/L PAR and acetate buffer solution (pH 4.9) was selected as mobile phase. The method has high sensitivity, with the detection limits being 6 ng/mL for aluminium(III), 3.5 ng/mL for vanadium(V), 10.4 ng/mL for iron(III), 6.3 ng/mL for copper(II) and 8.7 ng/mL for nickel(II). It also has good selectivity, so that most foreign metal ions do not interfere under the optimum conditions. The method can be applied to the simultaneous determination of trace amounts of aluminium, vanadium, iron, copper and nickel in rice and flour samples.  相似文献

Cationic surfactant, cetylpyridinium bromide (CPB), sensitizes the colour reaction of cerium(IV) with 1,3-o-hydroxyphenyl-5-phenylformazan(I), 1-m-hydroxyphenyl-3-o-hydroxyphenyl-5-phenylformazan(II) and 1-m-carboxyphenyl-3-o-hydroxyphenyl-5-phenylformazan(III). The formation of a soluble ternary complex of stoichiometric ratio 1:1:1 (Ce(IV)-R-CPB) is responsible for the observed enhancement in the molar absorptivity and Sandell sensitivity of the formed complex, when a surfactant is present. The ternary complex exhibits absorption maxima at 596, 571 and 607 nm (epsilon=6.05 x 10(4), 6.28 x 10(4) and 8.06 x 10(4)L mol(-1)cm(-1)) using triphenylformazan derivatives I, II and III, respectively. Beer's law is obeyed between 0.15 and 2.5 microg ml(-1), whereas, optimum concentration range applying Ringbom method is in the range 0.30-2.25 microg ml(-1). Conditional formation constants in the presence and absence of CPB for Ce(IV) complexes have been calculated. The proposed method has been successfully applied to the analysis of magnesium-base cerium alloys and synthetic mixtures corresponding to various cerium alloys.  相似文献

The strong fluorescence Tb/acetyl acetone (acac)/Poly (Acrylamide) (PAM) composite nanoparticles have been prepared under ultrasonic radiation. The nanoparticles were water-soluble, stable and have extremely narrow emission bands and high internal quantum efficiencies. Based on the fluorescence quenching of Tb/acac/PAM by Cr (VI), a method for the selective determination of Cr (VI), without separation of Cr (III) in water, was developed. The reaction condition between Cr (VI) and Tb/acac/PAM were investigated in detail. Under optimal experimental conditions, the linear calibration curve was obtained over the concentration range of 5-600 ng mL(-1) with a correlation coefficient of 0.9939. The corresponding detection limit is 0.8 ng mL(-1) and the relative standard deviation is 1.5% for 0.05 microg mL(-1) (n=7). The proposed method has been applied to the selective quantification of Cr (VI) in synthetic samples and waste-water samples with the satisfactory results. The assay is characterized by short reaction time, very few interference, stable fluorescence signals, simple instrument and simplicity.  相似文献

A method has been developed for the speciation of trace dissolved Fe(II) and Fe(III) in water by coupling gallic acid (GA) modified nanometer-sized alumina micro-column separation with inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS). The separation of Fe(II) and Fe(III) was achieved based on the obvious difference in reaction kinetics between Fe(II) and Fe(III) with GA. Fe(III) was selectively retained on the micro-column at pH 5.5-6.5, while Fe(II) could not be retained by the micro-column at the whole tested pH range of 1.0-6.5, and passed through the micro-column. The Fe(II) can be determined by ICP-MS directly without preconcentration/separation procedure, while Fe(III) retained on the micro-column was then eluted with 1.0 mL of 1 mol L(-1) HCl and determined by ICP-MS. The parameters affecting the separation of Fe(II) and Fe(III) were investigated systematically and the optimum separation conditions were established. Under the optimized conditions, the detection limits of 0.48 microg L(-1) and 0.24 microg L(-1) with relative standard deviation of 5.6% and 4.3%(C= 5 microg L(-1), n= 7) for Fe(II) and Fe(III) were found, respectively. No obvious effect on the speciation of Fe(II) and Fe(III) was found with the change of the ratio of Fe(II) and Fe(III) from 0 ratio 10 to 10 ratio 0. The proposed method was applied for the determination of trace Fe(II) and Fe(III) in environmental water and the recoveries for spiked samples were found to be in the range of 97-105%.  相似文献

A novel chemiluminescence (CL) flow-through sensor for the determination of pyrogallol has been developed. The method is based on the reaction between pyrogallol and potassium hexacyanoferrate(III) in sodium hydroxide solution. Potassium hexacyanoferrate(III) involved in the CL reaction was electrostatically immobilized on anion-exchange resin packed in a column. Pyrogallol was sensed by the CL reaction between pyrogallol and potassium hexacyanoferrate(III) which was eluted from the ion-exchange column through sodium phosphate injection. The CL emission allows quantitation of pyrogallol concentration in the range 0.01-3.8 microg/mL with a detection limit (3 sigma) of 0.003 microg/mL and a sample throughput of 118 h(-1). The relative standard deviation (n=7) was 2.2% for 0.2 microg/mL of pyrogallol. The influence of foreign compounds was tested.  相似文献

A novel luminescent and magnetic Fe(3)O(4)/pyrene/polyacrylamide (Fe(3)O(4)/Py/PAM) nanocomposite has been prepared under ultrasonic radiation. This magnetic nanocomposite combined with pyrene would lead to a special functional magnetic luminescent composite that enjoys both the advantages of magnetic nanoparticles of Fe(3)O(4) and fluorescence nanoparticles of pyrene. Taking advantage of the magnetic property of Fe(3)O(4) nanocomposites, we can separate Fe(3)O(4)/Py/PAM nanocomposites from solution easily just by using a permanent magnet. Based on the fluorescence quenching of Fe(3)O(4)/Py/PAM nanocomposites by Cr(VI), a method for the selective determination of Cr(VI), without separation of Cr(III) in water, was developed. Under optimal experimental conditions, a limit of detection of 0.01 microg mL(-1) was achieved. The calibration curve was linear over the concentration range of 0.1-14.0 microg mL(-1) with a correlation coefficient of 0.9975. The proposed method has been applied to the selective quantification of Cr(VI) in synthetic samples and wastewater samples with the satisfactory results.  相似文献

A new simple, sensitive, and selective spectrophotometric method was developed for the determination of nitrite. The method is based on the reaction of nitrite with sulfathiazole in acidic medium to form a diazonium cation, which is subsequently coupled with N-(1-naphthyl)ethylenediamine dihydrochloride to form a highly stable, violet azo dye. The reaction product has an absorption maximum at 546 nm and obeys Beer's law over a nitrite range of 0.054-0.816 microg/mL. The molar absorptivity of the colored compound is 4.61 x 10(4) L/mol x cm). The detection limit is 12.1 microg/L. The relative standard deviation is 0.85% for 5 determinations of nitrite at 0.27 microg/mL. The reproducibility and validity of the proposed method are discussed in the present paper. The simplicity of the method is demonstrated by the high stability of the azo-dye product as well as the short time required for its complete formation in a reaction at room temperature without pH control or extra extraction. The sensitivity of the method is shown by the successful determination of nitrite in human saliva and rain water, and of nitrogen dioxide in the atmosphere. The results compare favorably with those obtained by the reference method. The selectivity of the method is indicated by its freedom from most interferences, even at high concentrations of nitrate (500 microg/mL).  相似文献

A flow-injection system with electrochemical hydride generation and atomic absorption detection for As(III)/As(V) determination is described. A simple electrolytic flow-through cell has been developed and optimized. Several cathode materials like Pt, Ag, Cu, C and Pb have been tested. The influence of the electrolysis current, concentration of sulfuric acid, carrier stream, flow rate, sample volume and interferences by other metals on the arsenichydride generation have been studied. For the determination of total inorganic arsenic, As(V) is reduced to As(III) on-line by postassium iodide or L-cysteine at 95 degrees C. The influence of the temperature and the reduction medium on this pre-reduction step has been tested. The calibration curve is linear in the range of 5 to 50 microg/L for As(III) and total inorganic arsenic and shows a higher sensitivity than in case of reduction with sodium tetrahydroborate. The detection limit is 0.4 microg/L for As(III) and 0.5 microg/L for total inorganic arsenic at a sample volume of 1 mL.  相似文献
