This paper utilizes element birth and death finite element technique to control the process of filling metal step by step during multipass welding process. The dynamic thermal distributions and strain evolutions are simulated in 10 mm SUS310 stainless steel in multipass welding after taking into consideration of the fluid flow in the weld pool, the latent heat, taking into account the effect of the deformation in weld pool, change of initial temperature and solidification shrinkage. At the same time, the driving forces to weld solidification cracks of each weld pass are obtained successfully according to simulated thermal cycle (temperature against time) and mechanical strain cycle (mechanical strain against time). The results show the patterns of distribution of the driving force are similar to those of surface fusion welding. The driving force of first weld pass is larger than following weld passes and the driving force decreases gradually in company with welding processing. Sequent welding processes affect the mechanical strain distributions of previous weld pass, of which the tensile mechanical strain changes to compressive strain. In addition, the driving forces are analyzed and weld solidification cracks are predicted during multipass welding. The predicted results agree well with the experiments. Therefore, the simulated results in this study provide the foundation for predicting weld solidification cracking in actual weldment. 相似文献

This paper presents a design sensitivity analysis method by the consistent tangent operator concept-based boundary element implicit algorithm. The design variables for sensitivity analysis include geometry parameters, elastic–viscoplastic material parameters and boundary condition parameters. Based on small strain theory, Perzyna’s elastic–viscoplastic material constitutive relation with a mixed hardening model and two flow functions is considered in the sensitivity analysis. The related elastic–viscoplastic radial return algorithm and the formula of elastic–viscoplastic consistent tangent operator are derived and discussed. Based on the direct differentiation approach, the incremental boundary integral equations and related algorithms for both geometric and elastic–viscoplastic sensitivity analysis are developed. A 2D boundary element program for geometry sensitivity, elastic–viscoplastic material constant sensitivity and boundary condition sensitivity has been developed. Comparison and discussion with the results of this paper, analytical solution and finite element code ANSYS for four plane strain numerical examples are presented finally. 相似文献

This paper is based on an Air Force Flight Dynamics Laboratories-sponsored program to evaluate strain gages embedded in boron-epoxy test coupons. The strain gages, embedding techniques and specimen configurations used were relatively uncomplicated. The results of the program showed that the embedded-gage performance was comparable to surface-mounted-gage performance and are intended to provide a basis for more complex applications such as in joints, near holes and in sandwiched metal/fibrous composites. 相似文献

本文基于由文献〔1〕导出的几何非线性混合应变元一般公式,构造了三个八节点六面体几何非线性混合应变元和Simo-Rifai的二维四边形线性应变元的几何非线性混合应变元。数值结果表明,所构造的二维及三维几何非线性混合应变元具有理想的性能。它们通过分片试验,且没有虚假剪切现象和不可压缩材料的自锁。同时,它们对歪扭网格不敏感,在利用粗疏网格离散时对线性和非线性(几何和材料)问题具有很高的精度。 相似文献
