By using a unified theory of the formation of various types of vector-solitons in two-component Bose-Einstein condensates with tunable interactions,we obtain a family of exact vector-soliton solutions for the coupled nonlinear Schro¨dinger equations.Moreover,the Bogoliubov equation shows that there exists stable dark soliton in specific situations.Our results open up new ways in considerable experimental interest for the quantum control of multi-component Bose-Einstein condensates.  相似文献

We have developed a systematic analytical approach to the study on the dynamic properties of the linear and the nonlinear excitations for quasi-one-dimensional Bose-Einstein condensate trapped in optical lattices. A novel linear dispersion relation and an algebraic soliton solution of the condensate are derived analytically under consideration of Bose-Einstein condensate with a periodic potential. By analysing the soliton solution, we find that the interatomic interaction strength has an important effect on soliton dynamic properties of Bose-Einstein condensate.  相似文献

The spatial chaos probability of a Bose-Einstein condensate perturbed by a weak optical superlattice is studied. It is demonstrated that the spatial. chaotic solution appears with a certain probability in a given parameter region under a random boundary condition. The effects of the lattice depths and wave vectors on the chaos probability are illustrated, and different regions associated with different chaos probabilities are found. This suggests a feasible scheme for suppressing and strengthening chaos by adjusting the optical superlattice experimentaJly.  相似文献

<正>We investigate the combined soliton solutions of two-component Bose—Einstein condensates with external potential. The "phase diagram" is obtained for the formation regions of different combined solitons.Our results show that the intraspecies(interspecies) interaction strengths and the external trapped potential clearly affect the formation of dark-dark, bright-bright,and dark-bright soliton solutions in different regions.Especially,we find that the bright-bright (dark-dark) soliton can exist in the case of both repulsive(attractive) intraspecies interaction strengths in the presence of external potential.This novel phenomenon is completely different from the formation of soliton solution of one-component Bose-Einstein condensates without external potential,and it will be useful for the study of two-component Bose-Einstein condensates.  相似文献

The dissipative dynamic stability is investigated of dark solitons in elongated Bose--Einstein condensates that can be described by the Gross--Pitaevskii equation including an additional term. Based on the direct perturbation theory for the nonlinear Schr?dinger equation, the dependence of the soliton velocity on time is explicitly given, and the shape of dark solitons remaining unchanged under the dissipative condition is confirmed theoretically for the first time. It is found that the dynamically stable dark solitons turn out to be thermodynamically unstable.  相似文献

By using Darboux transformation, this paper studies analytically the nonlinear dynamics of a one-dimensional growing Bose-Einstein condensate (BEC). It is shown that the growing model has an important effect on the amplitude of the soliton in the condensates. In the absence of the growing model, there exhibits the stable alternate bright solitons in the condensates. In the presence of the growing model, the obtained results show that the amplitude of the bright soliton decreases (increases) for the BEC growing coefficient Ω 〈 0 (Ω 〉 0). Furthermore, we propose experimental protocols to manipulate the amplitude of the bright soliton by varying the scattering length via the Feshbach resonance in the future experiment.  相似文献

从一阶近似守恒量的性质出发,把受微扰系统视为未受微扰系统与微扰项的迭加,提出一种分三步求得一阶近似守恒量的新方法:先选择合适的方法求得未受微扰系统的守恒量I0,再考虑微扰项对守恒量I0的影响,最后利用一阶近似守恒量的性质求得一阶近似守恒量.用该方法研究了一实际的受非线性微扰作用的两自由度动力学系统,得到4个稳定的一阶近似守恒量.用坐标变换法和微扰法得到系统一阶近似解的表达式,并讨论4种特殊情况下的一阶近似解.  相似文献

Based on the exact solution of the time-dependent Schr\"{o}dinger equation for two-species Bose--Einstein condensates (BECs) consisting of two hyperfine states of the atoms coupled by a tuned adiabatic and time-varying Raman coupling, we obtain analytically the entanglement dynamics of the system with various initial states, particularly the SU(2) coherent state, for both of cases with and without the nonlinear interactions. It is shown that the effect of nonlinear interaction on the entanglement appears only in a longer time period depending on the BEC parameters.  相似文献

Two non-isospectral generalized nonlinear Schrodinger (ONLS) equations, which are two important models of nonlinear excitations of matter waves in Bose-Einstein condensates, are studied. Two novel transformations are constructed such that these two GNLS equations are transformed to the well-known nonlinear Schr6dinger (NLS) equation, which is an isospectral equation. Therefore, once one solution of the NLS equation is provided, we can immediately obtain one solution for two ONLS equations by these transformations. Thus it is unnecessary to solve these two non-isospectral GNLS equations directly. Soliton solutions and periodic solutions are obtained for them by two transformations from the corresponding solutions of the NLS equation, which are generated by Darboux transformation.  相似文献

A model of the perturbed complex Toda chain (PCTC) to describe the dynamics of a Bose-Einstein condensate (BEC) N-soliton train trapped in an applied combined external potential consisting of both a weak harmonic and tilted periodic component is first developed. Using the developed theory, the BEC N-soliton train dynamics is shown to be well approximated by 4N coupled nonlinear differential equations, which describe the fundamental interactions in the system arising from the interplay of amplitude, velocity, centre-of-mass position, and phase. The simplified analytic theory allows for an efficient and convenient method for characterizing the BEC N-soliton train behaviour. It further gives the critical values of the strength of the potential for which one or more localized states can be extracted from a soliton train and demonstrates that the BEC N-soliton train can move selectively from one lattice site to another by simply manipulating the strength of the potential.  相似文献

The nonlinear diffusion equation in bounded geometry with time-independent boundary conditions has a uniquely determined stationary solution. We show that this solution is dynamically stable in the sense of Liapunov. Any initial distribution tends to the stationary one as time goes on. It is shown that the application of the Glansdorff-Prigogine stability criterion requires a more elaborate analysis. We develop a variational procedure which has application in a wide range of nonlinear transport problems.  相似文献

The El Nifio-Southern Oscillation (ENSO) is an interannual phenomenon involved in the tropical Pacific Oceanatmosphere interactions. In this paper, an asymptotic method of solving the nonlinear equation for the ENSO model is used. And based on a class of oscillator of ENSO model, the approximate solution of a corresponding problem is studied by employing the perturbation method. Firstly, an ENSO model of nonlinear time delay equation of equatorial Pacific is introduced, Secondly, by using the perturbed method, the zeroth and first order asymptotic perturbed solutions are constructed. Finally, from the comparison of the values for a figure, it is seen that the first asymptotic perturbed solution using the perturbation method has a good accuracy. And it is proved from the results that the perturbation method can be used as an analytic operation for the sea surface temperature anomaly in the equatorial Pacific of the atmosphere-ocean oscillation for the ENSO model.  相似文献

We discuss the possible nonlinear waves of atomic matter wave in a Bose-Einstein condensate. One and two of two-dimensional (2D) dark solitons in the Bose-Einstein condensed system are investigated. A rich dynamics is studied for the interactions between two solitons. The interaction profiles of two solitons are greatly different if the angle between them are different. If the angle is small enough, the maximum amplitude during the interaction between two solitons is even less than that of a single soliton. However, if the angle is large enough, the maximum amplitude of two solitons can gradually attend to the sum of two soliton amplitudes.  相似文献

Classical linearized stability analysis predicts (neutral) stability of supersonic vortex sheets for compressible flow with normalized Mach numbers, M > √2, while recent detailed numerical simulations by Woodward indicate the nonlinear development of instabilities for M > √2 through the development and interaction of propagating kink modes in the slip-stream. These kink modes are discontinuities in the slip-stream bracked by shock waves and rarefaction waves which grow self-similarly in time. In this paper, the apparent paradox is resolved by developing appropriate small amplitude high frequency nonlinear time-dependent asymptotic perturbed solutions which yield the response to a very small amplitude nonlinear planar sound wave incident on the vortex sheet. The analysis leads to three specific angles of incidence depending on M > √2 where nonlinear resonance occurs. For these three special resonant angles of incidence the perturbation expansions automatically yield simplified equations. These equations involve an appropriate Hamilton-Jacobi equation for the perturbed vortex sheet location; the derivative of the solution of this Hamilton-Jacobi equation provides boundary data for two nonlinear Burgers transport equations for the sound wave emanating from the two sides of the vortex sheet. These equations are readily solved exactly and lead to the quantitative time-dependent nonlinear development of three different types of kink modes with a structure similar to that observed by Woodward.  相似文献

The sine-Gordon (SG) equation and perturbed nonlinear Schrödinger (NLS) equations are studied numerically for modeling the propagation of two space dimensional (2D) localized pulses (the so-called light bullets) in nonlinear dispersive optical media. We begin with the (2 + 1) SG equation obtained as an asymptotic reduction in the two level dissipationless Maxwell-Bloch system, followed by the review on the perturbed NLS equation in 2D for SG pulse envelopes, which is globally well posed and has all the relevant higher order terms to regularize the collapse of standard critical (cubic focusing) NLS. The perturbed NLS is approximated by truncating the nonlinearity into finite higher order terms undergoing focusing-defocusing cycles. Efficient semi-implicit sine pseudospectral discretizations for SG and perturbed NLS are proposed with rigorous error estimates. Numerical comparison results between light bullet solutions of SG and perturbed NLS as well as critical NLS are reported, which validate that the solution of the perturbed NLS as well as its finite-term truncations are in qualitative and quantitative agreement with the solution of SG for the light bullets propagation even after the critical collapse of cubic focusing NLS. In contrast, standard critical NLS is in qualitative agreement with SG only before its collapse. As a benefit of such observations, pulse propagations are studied via solving the perturbed NLS truncated by reasonably many nonlinear terms, which is a much cheaper task than solving SG equation directly.  相似文献

A Hamiltonian system perturbed by two waves with particular wave numbers can present robust tori, which are barriers created by the vanishing of the perturbed Hamiltonian at some defined positions. When robust tori exist, any trajectory in phase space passing close to them is blocked by emergent invariant curves that prevent the chaotic transport. Our results indicate that the considered particular solution for the two waves Hamiltonian model shows plenty of robust tori blocking radial transport.  相似文献

We discuss the propagation of optical solitons in a monomode fiber as a model of long-distance-high-bit-rate transmission system. We consider the one-dimensional nonlinear Schrǒdinger equations that describe the dynamics of a Bose-Einstein Condensates with time-dependent scattering length in a complex potential. Our results show that as long as the integrable relation is satisfied, exact solutions of the one-dimensional nonlinear Schrǒdinger equation can be found in a general closed form, and interactions between two solitons are modulated in a complex potential We find that the changes of the scattering length and trapping potential can be effectively used to control the interaction between two bright soliton.  相似文献

We investigate the nonlinear dynamics of the Peyrard–Bishop DNA model taking into account site dependent inhomogeneities. By means of the multiple-scale expansion in the semi-discrete approximation, the dynamics is governed by the perturbed nonlinear Schrödinger equation. We carry out a multiple-scale soliton perturbation analysis to find the effects of the variety of nonlinear inhomogeneities on the breatherlike soliton solution. During the crossing of the inhomogeneities, the coherent structure of the soliton is found stable. The global shape of the inhomogeneous molecule is merged with the shape of the homogeneous molecule. However, the velocity, the wavenumber and the angular frequency undergo a time-dependent correction that is proportional to initial width of the soliton and depends on the nature of the inhomogeneities.  相似文献
