Three definitions of logical independence of two von Neumann latticesP1,P2 of two sub-von Neumann algebras 1, 2 of a von Neumann algebra are given and the relations of the definitions clarified. It is shown that under weak assumptions the following notion, called logical independence is the strongest:A B 0 for any 0 A P1, 0 B P2. Propositions relating logical independence ofP1,P2 toC *-independence,W * independence, and strict locality of 1, 2 are presented.  相似文献

Using the method of the theory of thermodynamic stability and the form of the lines of the phase equilibrium of the isomorphous -transition in metallic cerium, the authors investigate the behavior of the basic thermodynamic characteristics of this transition in the two-phase region and in a neighborhood of the critical point. Attention is focused primarily on the little-studied adiabatic quantities (T/CV, (–P/V)S, (T/V)S). It is shown that along the phase tie-lines these quantities do not depend on V and S; in the limit of the critical point all adiabatic quantities have nonzero minima, and all isodynamic quantities (T/Cp, (–P/V)T, (T/V)P) approach zero according to the same law. The obtained thermodynamic results are compared with existing experimental data and models which can be interpreted thermodynamically. Based on the (relativistic) Maxwell equations with displacement current E/t, the initial-boundary-value problem for the compression of an initially homogeneous magnetic fieldB={0,B(x,t),0} between a fixed liner atx=0 and a detonation-driven liner atx=s(t) is solved analytically. By homogenizing the boundary conditions at the moving boundary, the transient electromagnetic fields are shown to be a superposition of quasistatic elliptic (E/t=0) and hyperbolic (E/t0) wave solutions. The wave equation is solved by a Fourier expansion in time-dependent eigenfunctionsf n =f n [nx/s(t)] for the variable region 0xs(t), where the Fourier amplitudes n (t) are determined by coupled differential equations of second order. It is concluded that the conventional elliptic flux compression theories (E/t=0) hold approximately for nonrelativistic liner speeds , whereas the hyperbolic theory (E/t0) is valid for arbitrary liner speeds .  相似文献

The stability conditions for an electric current flowing through a chain consisting of nonlinear inertial resistors and capacitors have been investigated. The necessary conditions for the field dependent conductivity and the inertia of the resistors and applied voltage leading to undamped oscillations in the chain have been derived. For the threshold voltage this condition has the form 0+V 0(/V) v0 cos I T =0, similar to that obtained in an earlier work of one of the authors from thermodynamical considerations.Computer simulation gives results for the frequency and threshold conditions in good agreement with approximate analytical solutions.  相似文献

The dynamics of short distance interaction is considered from viewpoint of the quark field theory. If the effective coupling of quarks (the invariant charge(p 2)) decreases with distance (with increasingp 2) the field picture unifies different phenomenological models: reggeology in the region of smallp and partonology in the region of highp but(p 2 ) lnp 2 1 and predict deviations with a subsequent increase ofp . A character of the deviations depends on the behaviour of whenp 2. The variants of the asymptotic freedom (0) and scale invariance (g 2 0 ) are discussed. Bose-Einstein condensation is analyzed in an ideal Bose gas in an external field at temperatures at which the energy spectrum can be assumed continuous. The nature of the phase transition depends on the behavior of the potential near its minima. Criteria are derived which show in which fields the condensation is a second-order phase transition, a third-order phase transition with an infinite discontinuity in CV/T, or a third-order phase transition with a finite discontinuity in CV/T.Translated from Izvestiya VUZ. We determined the199mHg nuclear quadrupole interaction in the misfit or superstoichiometric compound Hg x TiS2 by time differential perturbed angular correlation. A unique Hg-site withv Q =511(1) MHz and =0.410(4) was observed, irrespective of the Hg-uptake (2/3x4/3). We propose a model of Hg-Hg zig-zag chains which accounts for these observations as well as for the X-ray diffraction data.  相似文献

In general relativity, conservation of energy and momentum is expressed by an equation of the form /x= 0, where –gT represents the total energy, momentum, and stress. This equation arises from the divergence formula dV v = (/x v )d 4 d. Here we show that this formula fails to account properly for the system of basis vectors e(x). We obtain the (invariant) divergence formula e dV v = e (/x v + )d 4 d. Conservation of energy and momentum is therefore expressed by the covariant equation (/x v ) + = 0. We go on to calculate the variation of the action under uniform displacements in space-time. This calculation yields the covariant equation of conservation, as well as the fully symmetric energy tensor . Finally, we discuss the transfer of energy and momentum, within the context of Einstein's theory of gravitation.  相似文献

We consider a class of scalar field lattice models with action 1/2()+V(), V small. After n block renormalization group transformations, new formulas are obtained for the finite lattice generating and correlation functions. For some infrared asymptotic-free models in the thermodynamic and n limits, the formulas for correlation functions are especially simple, isolate the correct dominant long-distance behavior, and can be used to control the subdominant contributions.  相似文献

Refractive-index and optical-absorption spectra of Bi-substituted yttrium iron garnet films, epitaxially grown by liquid-phase epitaxy, have been measured in the spectral regime 0.26 m1.9 m by thin-film interference for 0.52 m and by ellipsometry for0.52 m. The Y3–x–y Bi x Pb y Fe5–z Pt z O12 films contain bismuth in the range Ox 1.42, lead in the range 0.01 y0.08 and platinum in the range 0.005<=z0.03. There is satisfactory coincidence between the results from ellipsometry and thin-film interference in the overlapping wavelength region. The materials investigated are the same as reported earlier from this laboratory in ter mof their magnetic and magnetooptic properties.  相似文献

A study is made of instability at frequencies close to the electron cyclotron frequency B and its multiples, subject to the presence of two different groups of electrons. It is shown that a mixture of hot and cold electrons ( ph 2 pc 2 ) in the region of frequencies s B, s2 can be unstable with respect to waves of the flute type (k z=0) with maximum increment max ( ph/pc). B, if there exists an interval of transversal velocities in whichF/ >0. When the curvature of the magnetic field is taken into account, even waves with B can be unstable in such a plasma. The effect of spatial inhomogeneity of the hot component on flute-type instability and on two-beam cyclotron instability is also examined.The author extends his thanks to A. B. We define a covariant and gauge-invariant generalization of the Wigner functions of particles with spins 1/2 and 0. A practical method is described for determining the symmetry groups of the differential equations of physics via a discussion of all possible operators in space of coordinates {x} and derivatives {/x}. The stability of the three-dimensional multiple-charged soliton solutions to the nonlinear field equations is studied by Lyapunov's method. It is proved that an absolutely stable soliton solution can not exist in any field model. By imposing the subsidiary condition pQi=0 (fixation of charges) we find a sufficient condition for stability of the stationary soliton which includes the inequality k i (Q i / k <0.
