The nonlinear mathematical theory for initial and post local buckling analysis of plates of abruptly varying stiffness based on the principle of virtual work is established. The method is programmed, and several numerical examples are presented to demonstrate the scope and efficacy of the procedure. Local buckling coefficients of perforated and stepped plates are obtained and the results are compared with known solutions. Post-buckling behaviour of perforated and stepped plates is studied for different geometries. The non-dimensional applied loads (P/Pcr), dimensionless lateral displacements and stress distribution of plates with varying stiffness in the post buckling region are given in several tables and graphs.  相似文献

Approximation of the average field is used in order to calculate the relative elastic properties of plates irregularly perforated with a large number of different hole. Relative properties are calculated for a plate perforated with a different kind of elliptical hole. Geometric modeling and numerical analysis of multi-directional FGM (Functionally Graded Material) plate, whose material properties grade continuously both in its thickness and in-plane directions, are increasingly required. In this work, postbuckling behavior of this type of plates with multiple cutouts is, for the first time, numerically investigated through the combination of NURBS-based IGA (IsoGeonetric Analysis) and FCM (Finite Cell Method). The nonlinear deformation of plate is determined by TSDT (Third-order Shear Deformation Theory) and von Kármán nonlinear assumptions without the requirement of SCFs (shear correction factors). Besides, the higher continuity advantage of NURBS basis functions can easily meet the C1-continuous requirement of the displacement field. The main contribution is introducing the FCM to deal with the influence of complex cutouts on the postbuckling characteristics. The geometric interfaces of the cutouts are approached and approximated by adaptive quadrature procedure in the distinguished cut elements. The advantage of this implementation is that the previously tricky process of representing the geometry of perforated plate with multiple NURBS patches can be eliminated, which naturally avoids the imposition of C1-continuity condition across the patch boundaries. The cylinder arc-length method combined with modified Newton–Raphson iteration algorithm, which takes into account of the initial geometric imperfections, is applied to implement geometrically nonlinear stability analysis and track the postbuckling paths. The effectiveness and reliability of the presented method are verified with available solutions of isotropic and conventional perfect FGM plates. Subsequently, a series of factors, including material volume fraction, length-to-thickness ratio, boundary condition, cutout size, etc., affecting the postbuckling responses of multi-directional perforated FGM plates are considered and investigated.  相似文献

In this paper we consider boundary value problems in perforated domains with periodic structures and cavities of different scales, with the Neumann condition on some of them and mixed boundary conditions on others. We take a case when cavities with mixed boundary conditions have so called critical size (see [1]) and cavities with the Neumann conditions have the scale of the cell. The paper deals with the modelling of riveted assemblies for full-scale complete aircraft crashworthiness. Many comparisons between experiments and FE computations of bird impacts onto aluminium riveted panels have shown that macroscopic plastic strains were not sufficiently developed (and localised) in the riveted shell FE in the impact area. Consequently, FE models never succeed in initialising and propagating the rupture in the sheet metal plates and along rivet rows as shown by experiments, without calibrating the input data (especially the damage and failure properties of the riveted shell FE). To model the assembly correctly, it appears necessary to investigate on FE techniques such as Hybrid-Trefftz finite element method (H-T FEM). Indeed, perforated FE plates developed for elastic problems, based on a Hybrid-Trefftz formulation, have been found in the open literature. Our purpose is to find a way to extend this formulation so that the super-element can be used for crashworthiness. To reach this aim, the main features of an elastic Hybrid-Trefftz plate are presented and are then followed by a discussion on the possible extensions. Finally, the interpolation functions of the element are evaluated numerically.  相似文献

In the present paper we consider a boundary homogenization problem for the Poisson’s equation in a bounded domain and with a part of the boundary conditions of highly oscillating type (alternating between homogeneous Neumman condition and a nonlinear Robin type condition involving a small parameter). Our main goal in this paper is to investigate the asymptotic behavior as ε → 0 of the solution to such a problem in the case when the length of the boundary part, on which the Robin condition is specified, and the coefficient, contained in this condition, take so-called critical values. We show that in this case the character of the nonlinearity changes in the limit problem. The boundary homogenization problems were investigate for example in [1, 2, 4]. For the first time the effect of the nonlinearity character change via homogenization was noted for the first time in [5]. In that paper an effective model was constructed for the boundary value problem for the Poisson’s equation in the bounded domain that is perforated by the balls of critical radius, when the space dimension equals to 3. In the last decade a lot of works appeared, e.g., [6–10], in which this effect was studied for different geometries of perforated domains and for different differential operators. We note that in [6–10] only perforations by balls were considered. In papers [11, 12] the case of domains perforated by an arbitrary shape sets in the critical case was studied.  相似文献

We study the limit behavior the solution of a nonlinear problem in an open set perforated periodically. Results of homogenization that we obtain generalize anterior results of Cioranescu-Donato [3].
