The molecular structures and vibrational properties of 1H‐imidazo[4,5‐b]pyridine in its monomeric and dimeric forms are analyzed and compared to the experimental results derived from the X‐ray diffraction (XRD), infrared (IR), and Raman studies. The theoretical data are discussed on the basis of density functional theory (DFT) quantum chemical calculations using Lee–Yang–Parr correlation functional (B3LYP) and 6‐31G(d,p) basis. This compound crystallizes in orthorhombic structure, space group Pna21(C2v9) and Z = 4. The planar conformation of the skeleton and presence of the N H···N hydrogen bond was found to be characteristic for the studied system. The temperature dependence of IR and Raman modes was studied in the range 4–294 K and 8–295 K, respectively. The normal modes, which are unique for the imidazopyridine derivatives are identified. Cyclo(L ‐Glu‐L ‐Glu) has been crystallised in two different polymorphic forms. Both polymorphs are monoclinic, but form 1 is in space group P21 and form 2 is in space group C2. Raman scattering and FT‐IR spectroscopic studies have been conducted for the N,O‐protonated and deuterated derivatives. Raman spectra of orientated single crystals, solid‐state and aqueous solution samples have also been recorded. The different hydrogen‐bonding patterns for the two polymorphs have the greatest effect on vibrational modes with N H and CO stretching character. DFT (B3‐LYP/cc‐pVDZ) calculations of the isolated cyclo(L ‐Glu‐L ‐Glu) molecule predict that the minimum energy structure, assuming C2 symmetry, has a boat conformation for the diketopiperazine ring with the two L ‐Glu side chains being folded above the ring. The calculated geometry is in good agreement with the X‐ray crystallographic structures for both polymorphs. Normal coordinate analysis has facilitated the band assignments for the experimental vibrational spectra. Copyright © 2009 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Novel organic–inorganic hybrid compounds, C16H44N4Pb3I10 and C14H34N2Pb2I6, were synthesized by solvent diffusion recrystallization from the dimethylsulfoxide solution containing PbI2 and gemini ammonium surfactants with different head groups. The results of single crystal X-ray structural analysis showed that the inorganic region of C16H44N4Pb3I10 has quasi one-dimensional chains of [Pb3I10]4? units, whereas that of C12H30N2Pb2I6 has one-dimensional chains of face-sharing PbI6 octahedra. The absorption and fluorescence spectra of these compounds also indicate the formation of one-dimensional inorganic chains and quantum-confined structures.  相似文献

The oroxylin, 5,7‐dihydroxy 6‐methoxy flavone is a potent natural product extracted from ‘Vitex peduncularis’. Density functional theory (DFT) at B3LYP/6‐311G(d,p) level has been used to compute energies of different conformers of oroxylin to find out their stability, the optimized geometry of the most stable conformer and its vibrational spectrum. The conformer ORLN‐1 with torsion angles 0, 180, 180 and 0 degrees, respectively, for H13 O12 C6 C5, H14 O10 C4 C5, H13 O12 C6 C5 and H14 O10 C4 C5 is found to be most stable. The optimized geometry reveals that the dihedral angle φ between phenyl ring B and the chrome part of the molecule in − 19.21° is due to the repulsive force due to steric interaction between the ortho‐hydrogen atom H29 of the B ring and H18 of the ring C (H29·H18 = 2.198 Å). A vibrational analysis based on the near‐infrared Fourier transform(NIR‐FT) Raman, Fourier transform‐infrared (FT‐IR) and the computed spectrum reveals that the methoxy group is influenced by the oxygen lone pair‐aryl pz orbital by back donation. Hence the stretching and bending vibrational modes of the methoxy group possess the lowest wavenumber from the normal values of methyl group. The carbonyl stretching vibrations have been lowered due to conjugation and hydrogen bonding in the molecules. The intramolecular H‐bonding and nonbonded intramolecular interactions shift the band position of O10 H14 and O12 H13 stretching modes, which is justified by DFT results. In this work, the experimental and theoretical vibrational spectra of N1‐methyl‐2‐chloroaniline (C7H8NCl) were studied. FT‐IR and FT‐Raman spectra of the title molecule in the liquid phase were recorded in the region 4000–400 cm?1 and 3500–50 cm?1, respectively. The structural and spectroscopic data of the molecule in the ground state were calculated by using density functional method (B3LYP) with the 6‐311++G(d,p) basis set. The vibrational frequencies were calculated and scaled values were compared with experimental FT‐IR and FT‐Raman spectra. The observed and calculated frequencies are found to be in good agreement. The complete assignments were performed on the basis of the total energy distribution (TED) of the vibrational modes, calculated with scaled quantum mechanics (SQM) method. 13C and 1H NMR chemical shifts results were compared with the experimental values. The optimized geometric parameters (bond lengths and bond angles) were given and are in agreement with the corresponding experimental values of aniline and p‐methyl aniline. One of the most fundamental properties in chemistry is the bond dissociation energy, the energy required to break a specific bond of a molecule. In this paper, the Fe–N homolytic bond dissociation energies [ΔHhomo(Fe–N)'s] of 2 series of (meta‐substituted anilinyl)dicarbonyl(η5‐cyclopentadienyl) iron [m‐G‐C6H4NHFp ( 1 )] and (meta‐substituted α‐acetylanilinyl)dicarbonyl(η5‐cyclopentadienyl) iron [m‐G‐C6H4N(COMe)Fp ( 2 )] were studied using density functional theory methods with large basis sets. In this study, Fp is (η5‐C5H5)Fe(CO)2, and G is NO2, CN, COMe, CO2Me, CF3, Br, Cl, F, H, Me, MeO, and NMe2. The results show that Tao‐Perdew‐Staroverov‐Scuseria, Minnesota 2006, and Becke's power‐series ansatz from 1997 with dispersion corrections functionals can provide the best price/performance ratio and accurate predictions of ΔHhomo(Fe–N)'s. The ΔΔHhomo(Fe–N)'s ( 1 and 2 ) conform to the captodative principle. The polar effects of the meta‐substituents show the dominant role to the magnitudes of ΔΔHhomo(Fe–N)'s. σα· and σc· values for meta‐substituents are all related to polar effects. Spin‐delocalization effects of the meta‐substituents in ΔΔHhomo(Fe–N)'s are small but not necessarily zero. RE plays an important role in determining the net substituent effects on ΔHhomo(Fe–N)'s. Insight from this work may help the design of more effective catalytic processes.  相似文献

Vibrational spectral analysis of the hydrogen‐bonded nonlinear optical (NLO) material p‐bromo acetanilide (PBA) was carried out using NIR‐FT‐Raman and FT‐IR spectroscopy. Ab initio molecular orbital computations were performed at HF/6‐31G (d) level to derive equilibrium geometry, vibrational wavenumbers, intensities and first hyperpolarizability. The lowering of the imino stretching wavenumbers suggests the existence of strong intermolecular N H···O hydrogen bonding, which was substantiated by the natural bond orbital (NBO) analysis. The vibrational spectra confirm that the charge‐transfer interaction between the  NHCOCH3 group and—Br through phenyl ring is responsible for simultaneous strong IR and Raman activation of the ring mode 8a. Vibrational analysis indicates that the lowering of stretching wavenumbers of methyl group due to electronic effects simultaneously caused by induction and hyperconjugation is due to the presence of the oxygen atom. The presence of blue‐shifting H‐bonds of CH stretching wavenumbers, simultaneous activation of carbonyl stretching mode, the strong activity of low‐wavenumber H‐bond stretching vibrations and the role of intramolecular charge transfer in making the molecule NLO active have been analyzed on the basis of the vibrational spectral features. The experimental and theoretical study on the structures and vibrations of 5‐fluoro‐salicylic acid and 5‐chloro‐salicylic acid (5‐FSA and 5‐ClSA, C7H5FO3 and C7H5ClO3) is presented. The Fourier transform infrared spectra (4000–400 cm−1) and the Fourier transform Raman spectra (4000–50 cm−1) of the title molecules in the solid phase were recorded. The molecular structures, vibrational wavenumbers, infrared intensities, Raman intensities and Raman scattering activities were calculated for a pair of molecules linked by the intermolecular O H···O hydrogen bond. The geometrical parameters and energies of 5‐FSA and 5ClSA were obtained for all eight conformers/isomers from density functional theory (DFT) (B3LYP) with 6‐311++G(d,p) basis set calculations. The computational results identified the most stable conformer of 5‐FSA and 5‐ClSA as the C1 form. The complete assignments were performed on the basis of the total energy distribution (TED) of the vibrational modes, calculated with scaled quantum mechanics (SQM) method. The spectroscopic and theoretical results were compared with the corresponding properties for 5‐FSA and 5‐ClSA monomers and dimer of C1 conformer. The optimized bond lengths, bond angles and calculated wavenumbers showed the best agreement with the experimental results. Copyright © 2010 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Single crystals of [C5H11NH3]Pb2I5, abbreviated C5Pb2I5, have been prepared. This compound is a new member of the family of the bilayered organic-inorganic lead-iodide based perovskites. Its crystal structure has been determined by X-ray diffraction. The inorganic sub-lattice consists of periodic bilayers of iodoplumbate octahedra. Each PbI6 octahedra exhibits both edge- and corner-sharing with adjacent octahedra. The vibrational properties of this compound have been studied by Raman scattering spectroscopy. Optical absorption, photoluminescence and diffuse reflectance measurements have been performed. The room-temperature bandgap and free exciton absorption bands are observed at 2.46 and 2.23 eV, respectively. The exciton binding energy is 230 meV which is the largest value ever reported till date for the bilayered PbI based perovskites. Calculations assuming Wannier-type quasi-two-dimensional excitons and taking into account the image potential of the exciton charges showed that nearly 64% of the exciton binding energy is due to the dielectric confinement effect.  相似文献

Infrared (IR) and Raman spectra were obtained for N,N′‐dicyclohexylcarbodiimide (DCC) in the solid state and in CHCl3 solution. Structures and vibrational spectra of isolated, gas‐phase DCC molecules with C2 and Ci symmetries, computed at the B3‐LYP/cc‐pVTZ level, show that the IR and Raman spectra provide convincing evidence for a C2 structure in both the solid state and in CHCl3 solution. Using a scaled quantum‐chemical force field, these density functional theory calculations have provided detailed assignments of the observed IR and Raman bands in terms of potential energy distributions. Comparison of solid‐state and solution spectra, together with a Raman study of the melting behaviour of DCC, revealed that no solid‐state effects were evident in the spectra. The FT‐IR and FT‐Raman spectra of sodium salt of 4‐hydroxy‐3[1‐(4‐nitrophenyl)‐3‐oxobutyl]‐2H‐1‐benzopyran‐2‐one (acenocoumarol sodium salt) in solid phase have been recorded and analyzed. The optimization geometry, intramolecular hydrogen bonding, and harmonic vibrational wavenumbers of acenocoumarol sodium salt have been investigated with the help of B3LYP density functional theory (DFT) methods. The infrared and Raman spectra were predicted theoretically from the calculated intensities. Natural bond orbital (NBO) analysis indicates the presence of C H···O hydrogen bonding in the molecule. The first static hyperpolarizability of the molecule has been computed. Copyright © 2009 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

This paper reports on room‐temperature infrared (IR) and Raman studies and vibrational characteristics of amide and thiocyano groups of R‐NH‐CO‐CH2‐SCN n‐alkylamides of thiocyanoacetic acid (R = C8H17, C9H19, C12H25 and C14H29). Their molecular structure has been proposed on the basis of optimization process. The experimental wavenumbers have been compared to those obtained from discrete Fourier transform (DFT) quantum chemical calculations performed with the use of B3LYP/6–31G(d,p) approximation. The role of the hydrogen bonds in the stabilization of the structure has been analyzed. It was found that the hydrogen bonding and strong dynamic interactions between the unit cell components are responsible for the deviation of several theoretical wavenumbers from the experimental ones. Molecular structure, vibrational energy levels and potential energy distribution of 1H‐imidazo[4,5‐b]pyridine, 3H‐imidazo[4,5‐b]pyridine, 5‐methyl‐1H‐imidazo[4,5‐b]pyridine, 6‐methyl‐1H‐imidazo[4,5‐b]pyridine and 7‐methyl‐3H‐imidazo[4,5‐b]pyridine were determined using density functional theory (DFT) at the B3LYP/6‐31G(d,p) level. The optimised bond lengths and bond angles are in good agreement with the X‐ray data of 5‐methyl‐1H‐imidazo[4,5‐b]pyridine obtained in the present work (Pbca space group; a = 8.660(2), b = 11.078(2), c = 11.078(3) Å, Z = 8). The N+H group plays the role of a proton donor in a medium strong hydrogen bond of the type N H…N, linking the N‐atom of the pyridine with the adjacent molecule related by the symmetry operation: 1/2 − x, y − 1/2, z(N…N = 2.869(25) Å). The presence of hydrogen bond is confirmed by appearance in the IR spectra of a very broad and strong contour in the 2000–3100 cm−1 range. The place of substitution of the methyl group at the pyridine ring influences the proton position of the NH group at the imidazole unit. Copyright © 2007 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

The complexes of cerium(III) and neodymium(III) were synthesized by reaction of the respective inorganic salts with 5‐aminoorotic acid (H4L) in amounts equal to the metal:ligand molar ratio of 1:3. The structures of the final complexes were determined by means of spectral (IR, Raman, 1H NMR and 13C NMR) and elemental analysis. Significant differences in the IR spectra of the complexes were observed as compared to the spectrum of the ligand. A comparative analysis of the Raman spectra of the complexes with that of the free H4L allowed a straightforward assignment of the vibrations of the ligand groups involved in coordination. The geometry of H4L was computed and optimized for the first time with the Gaussian03 program using the B3PW91/6‐311++G**, B3PW91/LANL2DZ, B3LYP/6‐311++G** and B3LYP/LANL2DZ methods. The experimental IR and Raman bands of the ligand were assigned to normal modes on the basis of DFT calculations. The vibrational analysis performed for the studied species, H4L and its complexes, helped to explain the vibrational behavior of the ligand vibrational modes sensitive to interaction with the lanthanides. The vibrational study gave evidence for the coordination mode of the ligand to lanthanide ions and was in agreement with the other theoretical prediction. As a probe of local structure, the vibrational properties of the 1‐butyl‐3‐methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate [bmim][BF4] ionic liquid were studied by infrared (IR), Raman spectroscopy, and ab initio calculations. The coexistence of at least four [bmim]+ conformers (GG, GA, TA, and AA) at room temperature was established through unique spectral responses. The Raman modes characteristic of the two most stable [bmim]+ conformers, GA and AA, according to the ab initio calculations, increase in intensity with decreasing temperature. To assess the total spectral behavior of the ionic liquid both the contributions of different [bmim]+ conformers and the [bmim]+− [BF4] interactions to the vibrational spectra are discussed. Room‐temperature polarized Raman spectra of a single crystal and IR spectra of a polycrystalline sample were measured for [N(C2H5)4]2MnCl4 and the assignment of the observed bands to the respective modes has been proposed. Temperature‐dependent Raman and far‐IR studies were also performed for the polycrystalline sample in order to obtain information on changes occurring in this material as a result of phase transitions at T1 = 227 K and at T2 = 199 K. These studies revealed that the higher‐temperature ferroelastic phase transition is associated with significant modification of vibrational properties due to ordering of tetraethylammonium groups. The lower‐temperature phase transition does not lead to any clear changes in the spectra. However, our results suggest that disorder of MnCl42− ions decreases with decreasing temperature. The nature and strength of metal–ligand bonds in organotransition–metal complexes is crucial to the understanding of organometallic reactions and catalysis. The Fe‐N homolytic bond dissociation energies [ΔHhomo(Fe‐N)′s] of two series of para‐substituted Fp anilines p‐G‐C6H4NHFp [1] and p‐G‐C6H4N(COMe)Fp [2] were studied using the Hartree–Fock (HF) and the density functional theory methods with large basis sets. In this study, Fp is (η5‐C5H5)Fe(CO)2 and G are NO2, CN, COMe, CO2Me, CF3, Br, Cl, F, H, Me, MeO and NMe2. The results show that BP86 and TPSSTPSS can provide the best price/performance ratio and accurate predictions of ΔHhomo(Fe‐N)′s. B3LYP can also satisfactorily predict the α and remote substituent effects on ΔHhomo(Fe‐N)′s [ΔΔHhomo(Fe‐N)′s]. The good correlations [r = 0.96 (g, 1), 0.99(g, 2)] of ΔΔHhomo(Fe‐N)′s in series 1 and 2 with the substituent σp+ constants imply that the para‐substituent effects on ΔHhomo(Fe‐N)′s originate mainly from polar effects, but those on radical stability originate from both spin delocalization and polar effects. ΔΔHhomo(Fe‐N)′s(1,2) conform to the captodative principle. Insight from this work may help the design of more effective catalytic processes. Copyright © 2012 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

The nature and strength of metal–ligand bonds in organotransition‐metal complexes are crucial to the understanding of organometallic reactions and catalysis. Quantum chemical calculations at different levels of theory have been used to investigate heterolytic Fe–N bond energies of para‐substituted anilinyldicarbonyl(η5‐cyclopentadienyl)iron [p‐G‐C6H4NH(η5‐C5H5)Fe(CO)2, abbreviated as p‐G‐C6H4NHFp (1), where G = NO2, CN, COMe, CO2Me, CF3, Br, Cl, F, H, Me, MeO, and NMe2] and para‐substituted α‐acetylanilinyldicarbonyl(η5‐cyclopentadienyl)iron [p‐G‐C6H4N(COMe)(η5‐C5H5)Fe(CO)2, abbreviated as p‐G‐C6H4N(COMe)Fp (2)] complexes. The results show that BP86 and TPSSTPSS can provide the best price/performance ratio and more accurate predictions in the study of ΔHhet(Fe–N)'s. The linear correlations [r = 0.98 (g, 1a), 0.93 (g, 2b)] between the substituent effects of heterolytic Fe–N bond energies [ΔΔHhet(Fe–N)'s] of series 1 and 2 and the differences of acidic dissociation constants (ΔpKa) of N–H bonds of p‐G‐C6H4NH2 and p‐G‐C6H4NH(COMe) imply that the governing structural factors for these bond scissions are similar. And the linear correlations [r = ?0.99 (g, 1c), ?0.92 (g, 2d)] between ΔΔHhet(Fe–N)'s and the substituent σp? constants show that these correlations are in accordance with Hammett linear free energy relationships. The polar effects of these substituents and the basis set effects influence the accuracy of ΔHhet(Fe–N)'s. ΔΔHhet(Fe–N)'s(1, 2) follow the captodative principle. MEα‐COMe, para‐Gs include the influences of the whole molecules. The correlation of MEα‐COMe, para‐Gs with σp? is excellent. MEα‐COMe, para‐Gs rather than ΔΔHhet(Fe–N)'s in series 2 are more suitable indexes for the overall substituent effects on ΔHhet(Fe–N)'s(2). Insight from this work may help the design of more effective catalytic processes. Copyright © 2012 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Raman and infrared (IR) spectra of defect pyrochlores TaWO5.5, NH4SbWO6·H2O, HSbWO6·H2O, LiSbWO6·H2O, NaSbWO6·H2O, KSbWO6, RbSbWO6, CsSbWO6, and TlSbWO6 were measured. The obtained spectra are discussed using the factor group approach for the cubic Fd‐3m space group, and assignment of bands to respective motions of atoms is proposed. Our results show that the phonon properties of the pyrochlores are strongly affected by disorder, and therefore Raman and IR spectroscopies are very useful tools in studying disorder in this family of compounds. In particular, our studies have shown that in these ionic conductors disorder at sites occupied by NH , H+, or alkali‐metal ions decreases with increasing size and mass of these ions.
