Let G be a complex semi-simple group, and X a compact Riemann surface. The moduli space of principal G-bundles on X, and in particular the holomorphic line bundles on this space and their global sections, play an important role in the recent applications of Conformal Field Theory to algebraic geometry. In this paper we determine the Picard group of this moduli space when G is of classical or G2 coarse moduli space and the moduli stack).  相似文献

LetM be the moduli space of generalized parabolic bundles (GPBs) of rankr and degree dona smooth curveX. LetM −L be the closure of its subset consisting of GPBs with fixed determinant− L. We define a moduli functor for whichM −L is the coarse moduli scheme. Using the correspondence between GPBs onX and torsion-free sheaves on a nodal curveY of whichX is a desingularization, we show thatM −L can be regarded as the compactified moduli scheme of vector bundles onY with fixed determinant. We get a natural scheme structure on the closure of the subset consisting of torsion-free sheaves with a fixed determinant in the moduli space of torsion-free sheaves onY. The relation to Seshadri-Nagaraj conjecture is studied.  相似文献

LetC(X,Y) be the space of continuous functions from a metric space (X,d) to a metric space (Y, e).C(X, Y) can be thought as subset of the hyperspaceCL(X×Y) of closed and nonempty subsets ofX×Y by identifying each element ofC(X,Y) with its graph. We considerC(X,Y) with the topology inherited from the Wijsman topology induced onCL(X×Y) by the box metric ofd ande. We study the relationships between the Wijsman topology and the compact-open topology onC(X,Y) and also conditions under which the Wijsman topology coincide with the Fell topology. Sufficient conditions under which the compactopen topology onC(X,Y) is weaker than the Wijsman topology are given (IfY is totally bounded, then for every metric spaceX the compactopen topology onC(X,Y) is weaker than the Wijsman topology and the same is true forX locally connected andY rim-totally bounded). We prove that a metric spaceX is boundedly compact iff the Wijsman topology onC(X, ℝ) is weaker than the compact-open topology. We show that ifX is a σ-compact complete metric space andY a compact metric space, then the Wijsman topology onC(X,Y) is Polish.  相似文献

We extend the notion of a parabolic vector bundle on a smooth curve to define generalized parabolic sheaves (GPS) on any integral projective curve X. We construct the moduli spacesM(X) of GPS of certain type onX. IfX is obtained by blowing up finitely many nodes inY then we show that there is a surjective birational morphism from M(X) to M (Y). In particular, we get partial desingularisations of the moduli of torsion-free sheaves on a nodal curveY.  相似文献

LetX be a compact Riemann surface andM s p (X) the moduli space of stable parabolic vector bundles with fixed rank, degree, rational weights and multiplicities. There is a natural Kähler metric onM s p (X). We obtain a natural metrized holomorphic line bundle onM s p (X) whose Chern form equalsmr times the Kähler form, wherem is the common denominator of the weights andr the rank.  相似文献

Using divisors, an analog of the Jacobian for a compact connected nonorientable Klein surfaceY is constructed. The Jacobian is identified with the dual of the space of all harmonic real one-forms onY quotiented by the torsion-free part of the first integral homology ofY. Denote byX the double cover ofY given by orientation. The Jacobian ofY is identified with the space of all degree zero holomorphic line bundlesL overX with the property thatL is isomorphic to σ*/-L, where σ is the involution ofX.  相似文献

LetX be a smooth complex algebraic surface such that there is a proper birational morphism/:X → Y withY an affine variety. Let Xhol be the 2-dimensional complex manifold associated toX. Here we give conditions onX which imply that every holomorphic vector bundle onX is algebraizable and it is an extension of line bundles. We also give an approximation theorem of holomorphic vector bundles on Xhol (X normal algebraic surface) by algebraic vector bundles.  相似文献

We study the interrelationship between topological and analytical properties of Sobolev bundles and describe some of their applications to variational problems on principal bundles. We in particular show that the category of Sobolev principal G-bundles of class W 2,m/2 defined over M m is equivalent to the category of smooth principal G-bundles on M and give a characterization of the weak sequential closure of smooth principal G-bundles with prescribed isomorphism class. We also prove a topological compactness result for minimizing sequences of a conformally invariant Yang-Mills functional.   相似文献

The chaos caused by a strong-mixing preserving transformation is discussed and it is shown that for a topological spaceX satisfying the second axiom of countability and for an outer measurem onX satisfying the conditions: (i) every non-empty open set ofX ism-measurable with positivem-measure; (ii) the restriction ofm on Borel σ-algebra ℬ(X) ofX is a probability measure, and (iii) for everyYX there exists a Borel setB⊂ℬ(X) such thatBY andm(B) =m(Y), iff:XX is a strong-mixing measure-preserving transformation of the probability space (X, ℬ(X),m), and if {m}, is a strictly increasing sequence of positive integers, then there exists a subsetCX withm (C) = 1, finitely chaotic with respect to the sequence {m i}, i.e. for any finite subsetA ofC and for any mapF:AX there is a subsequencer i such that limi→∞ f r i(a) =F(a) for anyaA. Our aim in this article is to produce new examples of semistable Lazarsfeld–Mukai bundles on smooth projective surfaces X using the notion of parabolic vector bundles. In particular, we associate natural parabolic structures to any rank two (dual) Lazarsfeld–Mukai bundle and study the parabolic stability of these parabolic bundles. We also show that the orbifold bundles on Kawamata coverings of X corresponding to the above parabolic bundles are themselves certain (dual) Lazarsfeld–Mukai bundles. This gives semistable Lazarsfeld–Mukai bundles on Kawamata covers of the projective plane and of certain K3 surfaces.  相似文献

After discussing some basic facts about generalized module maps, we use the representation theory of the algebra ℬa(E) of adjointable operators on a HilbertB-moduleE to show that the quotient of the group of generalized unitaries onE and its normal subgroup of unitaries onE is a subgroup of the group of automorphisms of the range idealB E ofE inB. We determine the kernel of the canonical mapping into the Picard group ofB E in terms of the group of quasi inner automorphisms ofB E . As a by-product we identify the group of bistrict automorphisms of the algebra of adjointable operators onE modulo inner automorphisms as a subgroup of the (opposite of the) Picard group.  相似文献

LetY be a Gorenstein trigonal curve withg:=pa(Y)≥0. Here we study the theory of special linear systems onY, extending the classical case of a smoothY given by Maroni in 1946. As in the classical case, to study it we use the minimal degree surface scroll containing the canonical model ofY. The answer is different if the degree 3 pencil onY is associated to a line bundle or not. We also give the easier case of special linear series on hyperelliptic curves. The unique hyperelliptic curve of genusg which is not Gorenstein has no special spanned line bundle.  相似文献

Summary We study the action of a continuous mapf on a locally connected metric space, with an emphasis on the action induced byf on the space of connected components of an attractorA or a stable setY off. The main result for attractors is that, ifA is an attractor in the sense of C. Conley, thenf permutes the components ofA and that the permutation is cyclic if and only if the attractor is indecomposable. This is related to similar results obtained recently by Buescu and Stewart. In the case of an indecomposable stable invariant setY we show that either the action off on the components ofY is as described above for the action on the attractor, or elseY has infinitely many components, the action off on them is a generalized adding machine, so that there are no periodic points inY. Results along these lines are due to Buescu and Stewart and to Melbourne, Dellnitz and Golubitsky.  相似文献

We compute the Picard group of the moduli spaceU′ of semistable vector bundles of rankn and degreed on an irreducible nodal curveY and show thatU′ is locally factorial. We determine the canonical line bundles ofU′ andU L , the subvariety consisting of vector bundles with a fixed determinant. For rank 2, we compute the Picard group of other strata in the compactification ofU′.  相似文献

Let G be a split connected semisimple group over a field. We give a conjectural formula for the motivic class of the stack of G-bundles over a curve C, in terms of special values of the motivic zeta function of C. The formula is true if C=P1 or G=SLn. If k=C, upon applying the Poincaré or called the Serre characteristic by some authors the formula reduces to results of Teleman and Atiyah-Bott on the gauge group. If k=Fq, upon applying the counting measure, it reduces to the fact that the Tamagawa number of G over the function field of C is |π1(G)|.  相似文献

Summary Consider mutually independent inputsX 1,...,X n onn different occasions into a dam or storage facility. The total input isY=X 1+...+X n. This sum is a basic quantity in many types of stochastic process problems. The distribution ofY and other aspects connected withY are studied by different authors when the inputs are independently and identically distributed exponential or gamma random variables. In this article explicit exact expressions for the density ofY are given whenX 1,...,X n are independent gamma distributed variables with different parameters. The exact density is written as a finite sum, in terms of zonal polynomials and in terms of confluent hypergeometric functions. Approximations whenn is large and asymptotic results are also given.  相似文献

The purpose of this paper is to compute the Betti numbers of the moduli space ofparabolic vector bundles on a curve (see Seshadri [7], [8] and Mehta & Seshadri [4]), in the case where every semi-stable parabolic bundle is necessarily stable. We do this by generalizing the method of Atiyah and Bott [1] in the case of moduli of ordinary vector bundles. Recall that (see Seshadri [7]) the underlying topological space of the moduli of parabolic vector bundles is the space of equivalence classes of certain unitary representations of a discrete subgroup Γ which is a lattice in PSL (2,R). (The lattice Γ need not necessarily be co-compact). While the structure of the proof is essentially the same as that of Atiyah and Bott, there are some difficulties of a technical nature in the parabolic case. For instance the Harder-Narasimhan stratification has to be further refined in order to get the connected strata. These connected strata turn out to have different codimensions even when they are part of the same Harder-Narasimhan strata. If in addition to ‘stable = semistable’ the rank and degree are coprime, then the moduli space turns out to be torsion-free in its cohomology. The arrangement of the paper is as follows. In § 1 we prove the necessary basic results about algebraic families of parabolic bundles. These are generalizations of the corresponding results proved by Shatz [9]. Following this, in § 2 we generalize the analytical part of the argument of Atiyah and Bott (§ 14 of [1]). Finally in § 3 we show how to obtain an inductive formula for the Betti numbers of the moduli space. We illustrate our method by computing explicitly the Betti numbers in the special case of rank = 2, and one parabolic point.  相似文献

Let G be a reductive algebraic group defined over an algebraically closed field of characteristic zero and let P be a parabolic subgroup of G. We consider the category of homogeneous vector bundles over the flag variety G/P. This category is equivalent to a category of representations of a certain infinite quiver with relations by a generalisation of a result in [BK]. We prove that both categories are Koszul precisely when the unipotent radical Pu of P is abelian.  相似文献

Let X be a compact Riemann surface together with a finite set of marked points. We use Morse theoretic techniques to compute the Betti numbers of the parabolic U(2,1)-Higgs bundles moduli spaces over X. We give examples for one marked point showing that the Poincaré polynomials depend on the system of weights of the parabolic bundle.   相似文献
