In this paper, the Lie symmetry analysis are performed on the three nonlinear elastic rod (NER) equations. The complete group classifications of the generalized nonlinear elastic rod equations are obtained. The symmetry reductions and exact solutions to the equations are presented. Furthermore, by means of dynamical system and power series methods, the exact explicit solutions to the equations are investigated. It is shown that the combination of Lie symmetry analysis and dynamical system method is a feasible approach to deal with symmetry reductions and exact solutions to nonlinear PDEs.  相似文献

The problem addressed in this paper is the verification of numerical solutions of nonlinear dispersive wave equations such as Boussinesq-like system of equations. A practical verification tool for numerical results is to compare the numerical solution to an exact solution if available. In this work, we derive some exact solitary wave solutions and several invariants of motion for a wide range of Boussinesq-like equations using Maple software. The exact solitary wave solutions can be used to specify initial data for the incident waves in the Boussinesq numerical model and for the verification of the associated computed solution. The invariants of motions can be used as verification tools for the conservation properties of the numerical model.  相似文献

We discuss various compatibility criteria for overdetermined systems of PDEs generalizing the approach to formal integrability via brackets of differential operators. Then we give sufficient conditions that guarantee that a PDE possessing a Lie algebra of symmetries has invariant solutions. Finally we discuss models of equations with large symmetry algebras, which eventually lead to integration in closed form.  相似文献

We present exact blow-up solutions for multidimensional Landau-Lifshitz equations. In this paper, the analytical blowup solutions of the N-dimensional radial symmetric compressible Euler equations are constructed. Some previous results of the blowup solutions for the compressible Euler equations with constant damping are generalized to the time-depending damping case. The generalization is untrivial because that the damp coefficient is a nonlinear function of time t.

A different approach to finding solutions of certain diffusive-dispersive nonlinear evolution equations is introduced. The method consists of a straightforward iteration procedure, which is carried to all terms, followed by a summation of the resulting infinite series. Sometimes this is done directly and other times in terms of inverses of operators in an appropriate space. We first illustrate the method with Burgers's and Thomas's equations, and show how it quickly leads to the Cole-Hopf and Thomas transformations which linearize these equations. The method is described in detail with the Korteweg-de Vries equation and then applied to the modified KdV, sine-Gordon, nonlinear (cubic) Schrödinger, complex modified KdV and Boussinesq equations. In all these cases the multisoliton solutions are easily obtained, and new expressions for some of them follow. More generally, the Mar?enko integral equations, together with the inverse problem that originates them, follow naturally from the approach. A method for modifying known solutions (in a way different from the known Backlund transformations) is also developed. Thus, for example, formulas for the interaction of solitons with an arbitrary given solution are obtained. Other equations tractable by this approach are presented. These include the vector-valued cubic Schrödinger equation and a two-dimensional nonlinear Schrödinger equation. Higher-order and matrix-valued equations with nonscalar dispersion functions are also included.  相似文献

Exact N-Wave solutions for the generalized Burgers equation where j, α, β, and γ are nonnegative constants and n is a positive integer, are obtained. These solutions are asymptotic to the (linear) old-age solution for large time and extend the validity of the latter so as to cover the entire time regime starting where the originally sharp shock has become sufficiently thick and the viscous effects are felt in the entire N wave.  相似文献

Bäcklund transformations relating the solutions of linear PDE with variable coefficients to those of PDE with constant coefficients are found, generalizing the study of Varley and Seymour [2]. Auto-Bäcklund transformations are also determined. To facilitate the generation of new solutions via Bäcklund transformation, explicit solutions of both classes of the PDE just mentioned are found using invariance properties of these equations and other methods. We prove the global existence of weak solutions of the one-dimensional compressible Navier-stokes equations with density-dependent viscosity. In particular, we assume that the initial density belongs to L^1 and L^∞, module constant states at x = -∞ and x = +∞, which may be different.
