Recent LHC results on the appearance of sub-leading flow modes in PbPb collisions at 2.76 TeV, related to initial-state fluctuations, are analyzed and interpreted within the HYDJET++ model. Using the newly introduced Principal Component Analysis (PCA) method applied to two-particle azimuthal correlations extracted from the model calculations, the leading and sub-leading flow modes are studied as a function of the transverse momentum (pT) over a wide centrality range. The leading modes of the elliptic (v2(1)) and triangular (v3(1)) flow calculated with the HYDJET++ model reproduce rather well the v2{2} and v3{2} coefficients measured experimentally using the two-particle correlations. Within the pT ≤ 3 GeV/c range, where hydrodynamics dominates, the sub-leading flow effects are greatest at the highest pT of around 3 GeV/c. The sub-leading elliptic flow mode (v2(2)), which corresponds to the n = 2 harmonic, has a small non-zero value and slowly increases from central to peripheral collisions, while the sub-leading triangular flow mode (v3(2)), which corresponds to the n = 3 harmonic, is even smaller and does not depend on centrality. For n = 2, the relative magnitude of the effect measured with respect to the leading flow mode shows a shallow minimum for semi-central collisions and increases for very central and for peripheral collisions. For the n = 3 case, there is no centrality dependence. The sub-leading flow mode results obtained from the HYDJET++ model are in rather good agreement with the experimental measurements of the CMS Collaboration.  相似文献

We perform a systematic study of elliptic flow(v_2) in Au+Au collisions at(~SNN)~(1/2) = 5 GeV by using a microscopic transport model, JAM. The centrality, pseudorapidity, transverse momentum and beam energy dependence of v_2 for charged as well as identified hadrons are studied. We investigate the effects of both the hadronic mean-field and the softening of equation of state(EoS) on elliptic flow. The softening of the EoS is realized by imposing attractive orbits in two body scattering, which can reduce the pressure of the system. We found that the softening of the EoS leads to the enhancement of v_2, while the hadronic mean-field suppresses v_2 relative to the cascade mode. It indicates that elliptic flow at high baryon density regions is highly sensitive to the EoS and the enhancement of v_2 may probe the signature of a first-order phase transition in heavy-ion collisions at beam energies of a strong baryon stopping region.  相似文献

Anisotropic flow is an important observable in the study of the quark-gluon plasma that is expected to be formed in heavy-ion collisions. With a multiphase transport(AMPT) model we investigate the elliptic(v_2),triangular(v_3), and quadrangular(v_4) flow of charged particles in Pb+Pb collisions at s_(NN)~(1/2)= 5.02 TeV. We then compare our flow results with the published ALICE flow results. We find our AMPT simulated results are consistent with ALICE experimental data.  相似文献

Recent experimental observations of the charged hadron properties in \(U+U\) collisions at 193 GeV contradict many of the theoretical models of particle production including two-component Monte Carlo Glauber model. The experimental results show a small correlation between the charged hadron properties and the initial geometrical configurations (e.g. body–body, tip–tip etc.) of \(U+U\) collisions. In this article, we have modified the Monte Carlo HYDJET++ model to study the charged hadron production in \(U+U\) collisions at 193 GeV center-of-mass energy in tip–tip and body–body initial configurations. We have modified the hard as well as soft production processes to make this model suitable for \(U+U\) collisions. We have calculated the pseudorapidity distribution, transverse momentum distribution and elliptic flow distribution of charged hadrons with different control parameters in various geometrical configurations possible for \(U+U\) collision. We find that HYDJET++ model supports a small correlation between the various properties of charged hadrons and the initial geometrical configurations of \(U+U\) collision. Further, the results obtained in modified HYDJET++ model regarding \(dn_{ch}/d\eta \) and elliptic flow (\(v_{2}\)) suitably matches with the experimental data of \(U+U\) collisions in minimum bias configuration.  相似文献

Azimuthal anisotropy of direct photon is measured in S_(NN)~(1/2)=200GeV Au Au collisions at RHIC- PHENIX.Direct photon is one of the most effective probes to study properties of hot dence medium at initial state(also QGP state)of heavy ion collisions because photons almost do not interact strongly with any other particles caused by its long mean free path and they keep their conditions when they axe created.Within statistical and systematic errors, the elliptic flow parameter(v_2)of direct photon is consistent with zero. Direct photon v_2 is estimated by hadron decay photon contamination are subtracted from inclusive photon v_2 in intermediate to high transverse momentum(p_T)region(0 to 10GeV/c)for 3 centrality selections(20% steps)and minimum bias.  相似文献

The time evolution of both proton and anti-proton v_2 flows from Au+Au collisions at (S_NN)~(1/2)=7.7 Ge V are examined by using both pure cascade and mean-field potential versions of the Ur QMD model. Due to a stronger repulsion at the early stage introduced by the repulsive potentials and hence much less annihilation probabilities, anti-protons are frozen out earlier with smaller v_2 values. Therefore, the experimental data of anti-proton v_2 as well as the flow difference between proton and anti-proton can be reasonably described with the potential version of UrQMD.  相似文献

We present results for the elliptic and triangular flow coefficients v(2) and v(3) in Au+Au collisions at √s=200 AGeV using event-by-event D=3+1 viscous hydrodynamic simulations. We study the effect of initial state fluctuations and finite viscosities on the flow coefficients v(2) and v(3) as functions of transverse momentum and pseudorapidity. Fluctuations are essential to reproduce the measured centrality dependence of elliptic flow. We argue that simultaneous measurements of v(2) and v(3) can determine η/s more precisely.  相似文献

The LHC data on azimuthal anisotropy harmonics from PbPb collisions at center-of-mass energy 2.76 TeV per nucleon pair are analyzed and interpreted in the framework of the HYDJET++ model. The cross-talk of elliptic $v_2$ and triangular $v_3$ flow in the model generates both even and odd harmonics of higher order. Comparison with the experimental data shows that this mechanism is able to reproduce the $p_\mathrm{T}$ and centrality dependencies of quadrangular flow $v_4$ , and also the basic trends for pentagonal $v_5$ and hexagonal $v_6$ flows.  相似文献

Within the framework of the UrQMD model, by tracing the number of initial quarks in protons, we study the elliptic flow of protons with 3, 2, 1, 0 initial quarks and anti-protons in Au+Au collisions at SNN~(1/2)= 7.7, 11.5, 39,200 GeV. The difference of elliptic flow between protons with 2, 1, 0 initial quarks and anti-protons is smaller than 0,or consistent with 0, respectively. The difference of elliptic flow between transported protons(with 3 initial quarks)and anti-protons is larger than 0 at 7.7, 11.5 and 39 GeV. This is in good agreement with the STAR results at 7.7 and 11.5 GeV, but overestimates the STAR results at 39 GeV. The yield of transported protons with 3 initial quarks is smaller than of protons with 2 and 1 initial quarks, and v_2 of all protons is much smaller than the STAR results. The observation of the v_2 difference of elliptic flow between transported protons and anti-protons in the UrQMD model partly explains the difference between protons and anti-protons observed in the Beam Energy Scan program at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider(RHIC).  相似文献

Elliptic flow and two-particle azimuthal correlations of charged hadrons and high-p(T) pions (p(T)>1 GeV/c) have been measured close to midrapidity in 158A GeV/c Pb+Au collisions by the CERES experiment. Elliptic flow (v(2)) rises linearly with p(T) to a value of about 10% at 2 GeV/c. Beyond p(T) approximately 1.5 GeV/c, the slope decreases considerably, possibly indicating a saturation of v(2) at high p(T). Two-pion azimuthal anisotropies for p(T)>1.2 GeV/c exceed the elliptic flow values by about 60% in midcentral collisions. These nonflow contributions are attributed to nearside and back-to-back jetlike correlations, the latter exhibiting centrality dependent broadening.  相似文献

New measurements are presented for charged hadron azimuthal correlations at midrapidity in Au+Au collisions at (square root)s(NN) = 62.4 and 200 GeV. They are compared to earlier measurements obtained at (square root)s(NN) = 130 GeV and in Pb + Pb collisions at (square root)s(NN) = 17.2 GeV. Sizeable anisotropies are observed with centrality and transverse momentum (pT) dependence characteristic of elliptic flow (upsilon2). For a broad range of centralities, the observed magnitudes and trends of the differential anisotropy, upsilon2(pT), change very little over the collision energy range (square root)s(NN) = 62-200 GeV, indicating saturation of the excitation function for upsilon2 at these energies. Such a saturation may be indicative of the dominance of a very soft equation of state for (square root)s(NN) approximately 60-200 GeV.  相似文献

In this paper, elliptic flow is studied at fixed centrality in Au+Au collision at √sNN=200 GeV in the AMPT model. It is observed that with the participant increasing, elliptic flow has an increase or a decrease at different fixed impact parameter, but it does not have a trivial fluctuation. It is analyzed that the initial space anisotropy dominates the participant dependence of elliptic flow in near-central collisions(b=5 fm) and mid-central collisions(b=8 fm), while the interaction between particles can mainly answer for the behavior of elliptic flow with participant in peripheral collisions (b=12 fm). To distinguish the pure geometrical effect, elliptic flow scaled by initial eccentricity is studied. It is found that the ratio v2/ε increases with participant and reaches a saturation when the participant is large enough, indicating that the collision system may reach the local equilibrium.  相似文献

Two-particle azimuthal correlation functions are presented for charged hadrons produced in Au+Au collisions at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (sqrt [s(NN)]=130 GeV). The measurements permit determination of elliptic flow without event-by-event estimation of the reaction plane. The extracted elliptic flow values (v2) show significant sensitivity to both the collision centrality and the transverse momenta of emitted hadrons, suggesting rapid thermalization and relatively strong velocity fields. When scaled by the eccentricity of the collision zone epsilon, the scaled elliptic flow shows little or no dependence on centrality for charged hadrons with relatively low p(T). A breakdown of this epsilon scaling is observed for charged hadrons with pT >1.0 GeV/c.  相似文献

Elliptic flow from nuclear collisions is a hadronic observable sensitive to the early stages of system evolution. We report first results on elliptic flow of charged particles at midrapidity in Au+Au collisions at square root(S)NN = 130 GeV using the STAR Time Projection Chamber at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider. The elliptic flow signal, v2, averaged over transverse momentum, reaches values of about 6% for relatively peripheral collisions and decreases for the more central collisions. This can be interpreted as the observation of a higher degree of thermalization than at lower collision energies. Pseudorapidity and transverse momentum dependence of elliptic flow are also presented.  相似文献

We study the effect of the nucleon meson cloud on predictions of the Monte Carlo Glauber wounded nucleon model for AA, pA, and pp collisions. From the analysis of the data on the charged multiplicity density in AA collisions we find that the meson–baryon Fock component reduces the required fraction of binary collisions by a factor of ~2 for Au + Au collisions at √s = 0.2 TeV and ~1.5 for Pb + Pb collisions at √s = 2.76 TeV. For central AA collisions, the meson cloud can increase the multiplicity density by ~16–18%. We give predictions for the midrapidity charged multiplicity density in Pb + Pb collisions at √s = 5.02 TeV for the future LHC run 2. We find that the meson cloud has a weak effect on the centrality dependence of the ellipticity ?2 in AA collisions. For collisions of the deformed uranium nuclei at √s = 0.2 TeV, we find that the meson cloud may improve somewhat agreement with the data on the dependence of the elliptic flow on the charged multiplicity for very small centralities defined via the ZDCs signals. We find that the meson cloud may lead to a noticeable reduction of ?2 and the size of the fireball in pA and pp collisions.  相似文献

Anisotropic transverse flow is studied in Pb+Pb and Au+Au collisions at SPS and RHIC energies. The centrality and transverse momentum dependence at midrapidity of the elliptic flow coefficient v2 is calculated in the hydrodynamic and low density limits. Hydrodynamics is found to agree well with the RHIC data for semicentral collisions up to transverse momenta of 1–1.5 GeV/c, but it considerably overestimates the measured elliptic flow at SPS energies. The low density limit LDL is inconsistent with the measured magnitude of v2 at RHIC energies and with the shape of its pt-dependence at both RHIC and SPS energies. The success of the hydrodynamic model points to very rapid thermalization in Au+Au collisions at RHIC and provides a serious challenge for kinetic approaches based on classical scattering of on-shell particles.  相似文献

Relativistic viscous hydrodynamic fits to Brookhaven Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider data on the centrality dependence of multiplicity, transverse, and elliptic flow for square root s = 200 GeV Au+Au collisions are presented. For standard (Glauber-type) initial conditions, while data on the integrated elliptic flow coefficient v(2) are consistent with a ratio of viscosity over entropy density up to eta/s approximately 0.16, data on minimum bias v(2) seem to favor a much smaller viscosity over entropy ratio, below the bound from the anti-de Sitter conformal field theory conjecture. Some caveats on this result are discussed.  相似文献

Measurements, with the BRAHMS detector, of the antiproton-to-proton ratio at midrapidities and forward rapidities, are presented for Au+Au reactions at square root of [s(NN)] = 130 GeV, and for three different collision centralities. For collisions in the 0%-40% centrality range, we find N(&pmacr;)/N(p) = 0.64+/-0.04((stat))+/-0.06((syst)) at y approximately 0, 0.66+/-0.03+/-0.06 at y approximately 0.7, and 0.41+/-0.04+/-0.06 at y approximately 2. The ratios are found to be nearly independent of collision centrality and transverse momentum. The antiproton and proton rapidity densities vary differently with rapidity, and indicate a significant degree of collision transparency, although a net-baryon free midrapidity plateau (Bjorken limit) is not yet reached.  相似文献
