We consider normal forms of real vector fields near periodic orbits and provide sufficient conditions for their smooth linearization. In addition, the main results also assert the existence of vertical local foliations, whose leaves are all transversal to the periodic orbit.  相似文献

It is proved here that for Lebesgue-almost every line in the three-dimensional Euclidean space, the Poincaré continued fraction algorithm fixes a vertex. Besides, the algorithm is nonergodic, although the Gauss map, defined by the algorithm, has an attractor and is ergodic. We introduce a concept of measure-theoretic entropy for flows and study its invariance under measure-theoretic equivalences. Invariance properties of the corresponding topological entropy is studied too. The main goal of this paper is to extend the approximation theorem of contiuous functions by Haar polynomials (see Theorem A) to infinite matrices (see Theorem C). The extension to the matricial framework will be based on the one hand on the remark that periodic functions which belong toL (T) may be one-to-one identified with Toeplitz matrices fromB(l 2) (see Theorem 0) and on the other hand on some notions given in the paper. We mention for instance:ms—a unital commutative subalgebra ofl ,C(l 2) the matricial analogue of the space of all continuous periodic functionsC(T), the matricial Haar polynomials, etc. In Section 1 we present some results concerning the spacems—a concept important for this generalization, the proof of the main theorem being given in the second section. In this work we extend to superalgebras a result of Skosyrskii [Algebra and Logic, 18 (1) (1979) 49–57, Lemma 2] relating associative and Jordan structures. As an application, we show that the Gelfand-Kirillov dimension of an associative superalgebra coincides with that of its symmetrization, and that local finiteness is equivalent in associative superalgebras and in their symmetrizations. Summary The main result concerns changing an arbitrary closed braid representative of a split or composite link to one which is obviously recognizable as being split or composite. Exchange moves are introduced; they change the conjugacy class of a closed braid without changing its link type or its braid index. A closed braid representative of a composite (respectively split) link is composite (split) if there is a 2-sphere which realizes the connected sum decomposition (splitting) and meets the braid axis in 2 points. It is proved that exchange moves are the only obstruction to representing composite or split links by composite or split closed braids. A special version of these theorems holds for 3 and 4 braids, answering a question of H. Morton. This paper deals with the brake orbits of Hamiltonian system on given energy hypersurfaces Σ = H −1(1). We introduce a class of contact type but not necessarily star-shaped hypersurfaces in ℝ2n and call them normalized positive-type hypersurfaces. By using of the critical point theory, we prove that if Σ is a partially symmetric normalized positive-type hypersurface, it must carries a brake orbit of (HS). Furthermore, we obtain some multiplicity results under certain pinching conditions. Our results include the earlier works on this subject given by P. Rabinowitz and A. Szulkin in star-shaped case. We study the problem of existence of periodic solutions to a partial differential equation modelling the behavior of an undamped beam subject to an external periodic force. We assume that the ordinary differential equation associated to the first two modes of vibration of the beam has a symmetric homoclinic solution. By using methods borrowed by dynamical systems theory we prove that, if the period is non resonant with the (infinitely many) internal periods of the PDE, the equation has a weak periodic solution of the same period as the external force. In particular we obtain continua of periodic solutions for the undamped beam in absence of external forces. This result may be considered as an infinite dimensional analogue of a result obtained in [16] concerning accumulation of periodic solutions to homoclinic orbits in finite dimensional reversible systems. We use the theory of n-cubic structures to study the Galois module structure of the coherent cohomology groups of unramified Galois covers of varieties over the integers. Assuming that all the Sylow subgroups of the covering group are abelian, we show that the invariant that measures the obstruction to the existence of a “virtual normal integral basis” is annihilated by a product of certain Bernoulli numbers with orders of even K-groups of Z. We also show that the existence of such a basis is closely connected to the truth of the Kummer-Vandiver conjecture for the prime divisors of the degree of the cover. In this paper, we apply the Mayer-Vietoris principle to compute the integer graded Floer homology of the connected sum of a Poincaré homology sphere with itself. The purpose of this paper is to explore the concept of localization, which comes from homotopy theory, in the context of finite simple groups. We give an easy criterion for a finite simple group to be a localization of some simple subgroup and we apply it in various cases. Iterating this process allows us to connect many simple groups by a sequence of localizations. We prove that all sporadic simple groups (except possibly the Monster) and several groups of Lie type are connected to alternating groups. The question remains open whether or not there are several connected components within the family of finite simple groups. Using deformations of singular twistor spaces, a generalisation of the connected sum construction appropriate for quaternionic manifolds is introduced. We investigate what happens to periodic orbits and lower-dimensional tori of Hamiltonian systems under discretisation by a symplectic one-step method where the system may have more than one degree of freedom. We use an embedding of a symplectic map in a quasi-periodic non-autonomous flow and a KAM result of Jorba and Villaneuva (J Nonlinear Sci 7:427–473, 1997) to show that periodic orbits persist in the new flow, but with slightly perturbed period and an additional degree of freedom when the map is non-resonant with the periodic orbit. The same result holds for lower-dimensional tori with more degrees of freedom. Numerical experiments with the two degree of freedom Hénon–Heiles system are used to show that in the case where the method is resonant with the periodic orbit, the orbit is destroyed and replaced by two invariant sets of periodic points—analogous to what is understood for one degree of freedom systems.  相似文献

In this article, we study vector fields bifurcating through a saddlenode equilibrium with an unstable homiclinic orbit. Bifurcating diagrams for two-parameter perturbations of these vector fields are exhibited.
