In this paper the nonnegative classical solutions of a parabolic system with nonlinear boundary conditions are discussed. The existence and uniqueness of a nonnegative classical solution are proved. We study numerically the semi‐classical limit for three‐coupled long wave–short wave interaction equations. The Fourier–Galerkin semi‐discretization is proved to be spectrally convergent in an appropriate energy space. We propose a split‐step Fourier method in the semi‐classical regime with the discussion of the meshing strategy, which is necessary to obtain correct numerical solution. Plane wave solution with weak and strong initial phases, solitary wave solution and Gaussian solution are considered to investigate the semi‐classical limit.  相似文献

We find a closed-form classical solution of the homogeneous wave equation with Cauchy conditions, a boundary condition on the lateral boundary, and a nonlocal integral condition involving the values of the solution at interior points of the domain. A classical solution is understood as a function that is defined everywhere in the closure of the domain and has all classical derivatives occurring in the equation and conditions of the problem. The derivatives are defined via the limit values of finite-difference ratios of the function and corresponding increments of the arguments.  相似文献

In this paper, an analytical expression for the solution of the prey–predator problem by an adaptation of the classical Adomian decomposition method (ADM). The ADM is treated as an algorithm for approximating the solution of the problem in a sequence of time intervals, i.e. the classical ADM is converted into a hybrid numeric–analytic method called the multistage ADM (MADM). Numerical comparisons with the classical ADM, and the classical fourth-order Rungge–Kutta (RK4) methods are presented.  相似文献

The existence of a local classical solution to the Mullins-Sekerka problem and the convergence to the two-phase quasi-stationary Stefan problem are proved when surface tension approaches zero. This convergence gives a proof of the existence of a local classical solution of quasi-stationary Stefan problem. The methods work in all dimensions.  相似文献

An elastic-plastic solution is presented for an internally pressurized thick-walled plane strain cylinder of an elastic linear-hardening plastic material. The solution is derived in a closed form using a strain gradient plasticity theory. The inner radius of the cylinder enters the solution not only in non-dimensional forms but also with its own dimensional identity, which differs from that in classical plasticity based solutions and makes it possible to capture the size effect at the micron scale. The classical plasticity solution of the same problem is recovered as a special case of the current solution. To further illustrate the newly derived solution, formulas and numerical results for the plastic limit pressure are provided. These results reveal that the load-carrying capacity of the cylinder increases with decreasing inner radius at the micron scale. It is also seen that the macroscopic behavior of the pressurized cylinder can be well described by using classical plasticity based solutions.  相似文献

The classical solution of the first mixed problem for a second-order hyperbolic equation with variable coefficients in the case of two independent variables in a curvilinear half-strip is considered. The existence and uniqueness of the classical solution under specific smoothness and matching conditions for given functions are proved. A method is proposed for constructing the solution using the method of sequential approximations for a system of integral equations of the second kind.  相似文献

This paper concerned with the classical solutions to system of one dimensional hydromagnetic dynamics with dissipative mechanism. Under certain hypotheses on the initial data, the global existence and the formation of singularities for classical solution are obtained. Our results show that the damping dissipation is strong enough to preserve the smoothness of the classical solution.  相似文献

Recently Suslov and Tran (2008) [1] claimed to have found an error in one of the solutions given in the paper by Hron (2001) et al. [2] concerning the flows of fluids with pressure-dependent viscosities. We show that their arguments are related to the question of the continuity of the pressure, and we show that the original solution, although it is not a classical one, can be interpreted as a solution in a generalized sense. Mathematical and physical implications of such generalizations are briefly discussed. The discussion in the paper highlights the importance of recognizing what is meant by a “solution” to a partial differential equation, whether by a solution we mean a classical solution, a weak solution, or a solution in some other sense.  相似文献

The paper is devoted to the development of the viscosity approach to the generalized solution of functional Hamilton-Jacobi type equations with coinvariant derivatives and a nonanticipatory Hamiltonian. These equations are naturally connected to problems of dynamical optimization of hereditary systems and, as compared with classical Hamilton-Jacobi equations, possess a number of additional peculiarities stipulated by the aftereffect. The definition of a viscosity solution that takes the above peculiarities into account is given. The consistency of this definition with the notion of a classical solution and with the minimax approach to the generalized solution is substantiated. The problem of the convergence of the solutions of problems of plasticity theory, with a yield condition which depends on the hydrostatic stress, to solutions based on classical plasticity theory with von Mises or Tresea conditions is considered, with a particular choice of the parameters of the material model. For the case of axisymmetric flow of material in a channel with converging and diverging walls, solutions according to two plasticity theories with a yield condition which depends on the hydrostatic stress are compared with the classical solution. It is shown that only the solution using Spencer's model shows all the main features of the classical solution. As the internal criterion of the choice of the preferred plasticity theory when examining a special class of problems, it is suggested that the criterion of the convergence of the solutions to the solutions of classical plasticity theory should be used.  相似文献

A family of 1-D moving boundary models describing the diffusion of a finite amount of a penetrant in a glassy polymer is studied. Local existence of a unique classical solution is obtained for a generic quasilinear model. Specific data are then chosen which can be found in the literature (cf. [6]) and global existence of the classical solution and its convergence to an equilibrium solution are proven. Finally a rigorous proof is provided for a formal perturbation argument proposed in [6] and used therein to estimate the rate of convergence of the solution towards the equilibrium.  相似文献

The author considers the life-span of classical solutions to Cauchy problem for general first order quasilinear strictly hyperbolic systems in two independent variables with “slow“ decay initial data. By constructing an example, first it is illustrated that the classical solution to this kind of Cauchy problem may blow up in a finite time, even if the system is weakly linearly degenerate. Then some lower bounds of the life-span of classical solutions are given in the casethat the system is weakly linearly degenerate. These estimates imply that, when the system is weakly linearly degenerate, the classical solution exists almost globally in time. Finally, it is proved that Theorems 1.1-1.3 in [2] are still valid for this kind of initial data.  相似文献

Motivated by the problem of finding a satisfactory quantum generalization of the classical random walks, we construct a new class of quantum Markov chains which are at the same time purely generated and uniquely determined by a corresponding classical Markov chain. We argue that this construction yields as a corollary, a solution to the problem of constructing quantum analogues of classical random walks which are “entangled” in a sense specified in the paper.The formula giving the joint correlations of these quantum chains is obtained from the corresponding classical formula by replacing the usual matrix multiplication by Schur multiplication.The connection between Schur multiplication and entanglement is clarified by showing that these quantum chains are the limits of vector states whose amplitudes, in a given basis (e.g. the computational basis of quantum information), are complex square roots of the joint probabilities of the corresponding classical chains. In particular, when restricted to the projectors on this basis, the quantum chain reduces to the classical one. In this sense we speak of entangled lifting, to the quantum case, of a classical Markov chain. Since random walks are particular Markov chains, our general construction also gives a solution to the problem that motivated our study.In view of possible applications to quantum statistical mechanics too, we prove that the ergodic type of an entangled Markov chain with finite state space (thus excluding random walks) is completely determined by the corresponding ergodic type of the underlying classical chain.
