ON THE RATE OF WEIGHTED Lp CONVERGENCE BY THE GRUENWALD INTERPOLATORY OPERATORS

This paper gives the weighted Lp convergence rate estimations of the Gruenwald interpolatory polynomials based on the zeros of Chebyshev polymomials of the first kind,and proves that the order of the estimations is optimal for p≥1.     

COMMUTATORS OF SINGULAR INTEGRAL OPERATORS WITH NON-SMOOTH KERNELS

Let T be a singular integral operator bounded on Lp(Rn) for some p, 1 ＜ p ＜∞. The authors give a sufficient condition on the kernel of T so that when b ∈BMO, the commutator [b, T](f) = T(bf) - bT(f) is bounded on the space Lp for all p, 1 ＜ p ＜∞.The condition of this paper is weaker than the usual pointwise Hormander condition.     

ON MULTILINEAR COMMUTATORS OF Θ-TYPE CALDERóN-ZYGMUND OPERATORS

In this paper, we discuss the multilinear commutator of θ-type Calderón- Zygmund operators, and obtain that this kind of multilinear commutators is bounded from Lp(Rn) to Lq(Rn), from Lp(Rn) to Triebel-Lizorkin spaces and on certain Hardy type spaces.     

WIDTHS AND AVERAGE WIDTHS OF SOBOLEV CLASSES

This paper concerns the problem of the Kolmogorov n-width, the linear re-width, the Gel'fand n-width and the Bernstein re-width of Sobolev classes of the periodic multivariate functions in the space Lp(Td) and the average Bernstein o-width, average Kolmogorov o-widths, the average linear o-widths of Sobolev classes of the multivariate functions in the space LP(R ), where p = (p1,…,pd), 1 < Pj < ∞o, j = 1,2,…,d, or pj = ∞,j = 1,2,…, d. Their weak asymptotic behaviors are established for the corresponding quantities.     

The relations among the three kinds of conditional risk measures

Let(Ω,E,P)be a probability space,F a sub-σ-algebra of E,Lp(E)(1 p+∞)the classical function space and Lp F(E)the L0(F)-module generated by Lp(E),which can be made into a random normed module in a natural way.Up to the present time,there are three kinds of conditional risk measures,whose model spaces are L∞(E),Lp(E)(1 p+∞)and Lp F(E)(1 p+∞)respectively,and a conditional convex dual representation theorem has been established for each kind.The purpose of this paper is to study the relations among the three kinds of conditional risk measures together with their representation theorems.We first establish the relation between Lp(E)and Lp F(E),namely Lp F(E)=Hcc(Lp(E)),which shows that Lp F(E)is exactly the countable concatenation hull of Lp(E).Based on the precise relation,we then prove that every L0(F)-convex Lp(E)-conditional risk measure(1 p+∞)can be uniquely extended to an L0(F)-convex Lp F(E)-conditional risk measure and that the dual representation theorem of the former can also be regarded as a special case of that of the latter,which shows that the study of Lp-conditional risk measures can be incorporated into that of Lp F(E)-conditional risk measures.In particular,in the process we find that combining the countable concatenation hull of a set and the local property of conditional risk measures is a very useful analytic skill that may considerably simplify and improve the study of L0-convex conditional risk measures.∞     

Convergence of subdivision schemes in L p spaces

Abstract. In this paper it is proved that Lp solutions of a refinement equation exist if and only ifthe corresponding subdivision scheme with suitable initial function converges in Lp without anyassumption on the stability of the solutions of the refinement equation. A characterization forconvergence of subdivision scheme is also given in terms of the refinement mask. Thus a com-plete answer to the relation between the existence of Lp solutions of the refinement equation andthe convergence of the corresponding subdivision schemes is given.     

THE REGULARITY OF QUASI-MINIMA AND ω-MINIMA OF INTEGRAL FUNCTIONALS

In this article, we have two parts. In the first part, we are concerned with the locally Hlder continuity of quasi-minima of the following integral functional ∫Ωf(x, u, Du)dx, (1) where Ω is an open subset of Euclidean N-space (N ≥ 3), u:Ω→ R,the Carath′eodory function f satisfies the critical Sobolev exponent growth condition |Du|p* |u|p*-a(x) ≤ f(x,u,Du) ≤ L(|Du|p+|u|p* + a(x)), (2) where L≥1, 1pN,p* = Np/N-p , and a(x) is a nonnegative function that lies in a suitable Lp space. In the second part, we study the locally Hlder continuity of ω-minima of (1). Our method is to compare the ω-minima of (1) with the minima of corresponding function determined by its critical Sobolev exponent growth condition. Finally, we obtain the regularity by Ekeland’s variational principal.     

Boundedness of a class of super singular integral operators and the associated commutators

In this paper we give the (Lα p, Lp) boundedness of the maximal operator of a class of super singular integrals defined bywhich improves and extends the known result. Moreover, by applying an off-Diagonal T1 Theorem, we also obtain the (Lp, Lq) boundedness of the commutator defined by     

Extension of isometries on the unit sphere of L p spaces

In this paper we study the isometric extension problem and show that every surjective isometry between the unit spheres of Lp (μ) (1 p ∞, p≠2) and a Banach space E can be extended to a linear isometry from Lp(μ) onto E, which means that if the unit sphere of E is (metrically) isometric to the unit sphere of Lp(μ), then E is linearly isometric to Lp(μ). We also prove that every surjective 1-Lipschitz or anti-1-Lipschitz map between the unit spheres of Lp (μ1, H1) and Lp(μ2,H2) must be an isometry and can be extended to a linear isometry from Lp (μ1,H1) to Lp (μ2,H2), where H1 and H2 are Hilbert spaces.     

Unconditional basis recursively generated in L~p on compact sets

We construct an unconditional basis in the Banach space Lp(Ω, ρ) for p > 1 by using the refinement equation and the basic operation of translation and scale, where Ω is a compact subset in Rn. We also give an algorithm of how to construct an unconditional basis in Lp(Ω,ρ). At the end of this paper, we give the characterization of the functions in Lp (Ω,ρ) by using the wavelet coefficients.     

Isometries on the Quasi-Banach Spaces Lp （0〈p〈1）

We study the extension of isometries between the unit spheres of quasi-Banach spaces Lp for 0〈p〈1. We give some sufficient conditions such that an isometric mapping from the the unit sphere of Lp（μ） into that of another LP（ν） can be extended to be a linear isometry defined on the whole space.     

INEQUALITIES FOR Lp-MIXED CURVATURE IMAGES

Lutwak, Yang, and Zhang posed the notion of Lp-curvature images and established several Lp analogs of the affne isoperimetric inequality. In this article, the notion of Lp-mixed curvature images is introduced, Lp-curvature images being a special case. The properties and Lp analogs of the affne isoperimetric inequality are established for Lp-mixed curvature images.     

Weighted exponential polynomial approximation

A necessary and sufficient condition for completeness of systems of exponentials with a weight in Lp is established and a quantitative relation between the weight and the system of exponential in Lp is obtained by using a generalization of Malliavin's uniqueness theorem about Watson's problem.     

<Emphasis Type="Italic">L</Emphasis><Superscript><Emphasis Type="Italic">p</Emphasis></Superscript> integrability of trigonometric series with special varying coefficients

Very recently, Yu, Le and Zhou introduced the so called △B1^＊ and △B2^＊ conditions, which are generalizations of the monotone condition. By applying these two new conditions, the author essentially generalizes the classical results of Chen on the necessary and sufficient conditions of the Lp integrability of trigonometric series. In fact, the present paper gives the first result on the necessary and sufficient conditions of the Lp integrability of trigonometric series, where coefficients may have different signs.     

INTERIOR ESTIMATES IN MORREY SPACES FOR SOLUTIONS OF ELLIPTIC EQUATIONS AND WEIGHTED BOUNDEDNESS FOR COMMUTATORS OF SINGULAR INTEGRAL OPERATORS

It is proved that, for the nondivergence elliptic equations ∑in, j=1 aijuxixj = f,if f belongs to the generalized Morrey spaces Lp,ψ(ω), then uxixj ∈ Lp,ψ(ω), where u is the W2,p-solution of the equations. In order to obtain this, the author first establish the weighted boundedness for the commutators of some singular integral operators on Lp,ψ (ω).     

Commutator of hypersingular integral with rough kernels on Sobolev spaces

In this paper, the authors give the boundedness of the commutator of hypersingular integral T γ from the homogeneous Sobolev space Lpγ (Rn) to the Lebesgue space Lp(Rn) for 1p∞ and 0 γ min{ n/2 , n/p }.     

A sharp nonasymptotic bound and phase diagram of L 1/2 regularization

We derive a sharp nonasymptotic bound of parameter estimation of the L1/2 regularization.The bound shows that the solutions of the L1/2 regularization can achieve a loss within logarithmic factor of an ideal mean squared error and therefore underlies the feasibility and effectiveness of the L1/2regularization.Interestingly,when applied to compressive sensing,the L1/2 regularization scheme has exhibited a very promising capability of completed recovery from a much less sampling information.As compared with the Lp(0 p 1) penalty,it is appeared that the L1/2 penalty can always yield the most sparse solution among all the Lp penalty when 1/2 ≤ p 1,and when 0 p 1/2,the Lp penalty exhibits the similar properties as the L1/2 penalty.This suggests that the L1/2 regularization scheme can be accepted as the best and therefore the representative of all the Lp(0 p 1) regularization schemes.     

Regularity of Poisson equation in some logarithmic space

In this note, the regularity of Poisson equation -△u = f with f lying in logarithmic function space Lp(LogL)a(Ω)(1＜p ＜∞, a ∈ R) is studied. The result of the note generalizes the W2,p estimate of Poisson equation in Lp(Ω).     

<Emphasis Type="Italic">L</Emphasis><Superscript><Emphasis Type="Italic">p</Emphasis></Superscript>-Poincaré inequality for general symmetric forms

Lp Poincare inequalities for general symmetric forms are established by new Cheeger＇s isoperimetric constants. Lp super-Poincare inequalities are introduced to describe the equivalent conditions for the Lp compact embedding, and the criteria via the new Cheeger＇s constants for those inequalities are presented. Finally, the concentration or the volume growth of measures for these inequalities are studied.
