Due to the ubiquity of chirality in nature, chiral self-assembly involving self-sorting behaviors has remained as one of the most important research topics of interests. Herein, starting from a racemic mixture of SEG-based (SEG=SEGPHOS) chlorogold(I) precursors, a unique chiral butterfly-shape hexadecanuclear gold(I) cluster (Au16) with different ratios of RSEG and SSEG ligands is obtained via homoleptic and heterochiral self-sorting. More interestingly, by employing different chlorogold(I) precursors of opposite chirality (such as R SEG -Au2 and S BIN -Au2 (BIN=BINAP)), an unprecedented heteroleptic and heterochiral self-sorting strategy has been developed to give a series of heteroleptic chiral decanuclear gold(I) clusters (Au10) with propellor-shape structures. Heterochiral and heteroleptic self-sorting have also been observed between enantiomers of homoleptic chiral Au10 clusters to result in the heteroleptic chiral Au10 clusters via cluster-to-cluster transformation. Incorporation of heteroleptic ligands is found to decrease the symmetry from S4 of homoleptic meso Au10 to C2 of heteroleptic chiral Au10 clusters. The chirality has been transferred from the axial chiral ligands and stored in the heteroleptic gold(I) clusters.  相似文献

The chirality of a gold nanocluster can be generated from either an intrinsically chiral inorganic core or an achiral inorganic core in a chiral environment. The first structural determination of a gold nanocluster containing an intrinsic chiral inorganic core is reported. The chiral gold nanocluster [Au20(PP3)4]Cl4 (PP3=tris(2‐(diphenylphosphino)ethyl)phosphine) has been prepared by the reduction of a gold(I)–tetraphosphine precursor in dichloromethane solution. Single‐crystal structural determination reveals that the cluster molecular structure has C3 symmetry. It consists of a Au20 core consolidated by four peripheral tetraphosphines. The Au20 core can be viewed as the combination of an icosahedral Au13 and a helical Y‐shaped Au7 motif. The identity of this Au20 cluster is confirmed by ESI‐MS. The chelation of multidentate phosphines enhances the stability of this Au20 cluster.  相似文献

Treatment of (NH4)[Au(D‐Hpen‐S)2](D‐H2pen = D‐penicillamine) with CoCl2·6H2O in an acetate buffer solution, followed by air oxidation, gave neutral AuICoIII and anionic AuI3CoIII2 polynuclear complexes, [Au3Co3(D‐pen‐N,O,S)6]([ 1 ]) and [Au3Co2(D‐pen‐N,S)6]3? ([ 2 ]3?), which were separated by anion‐exchange column chromatography. Complexes [ 1 ] and [ 2 ]3? each formed a single isomer, and their structures were determined by single‐crystal X‐ray crystallography. In [ 1 ], each of three [Au(D‐pen‐S)2]3?metalloligands coordinates to two CoIII ions in a bis‐tridentate‐N,O,S mode to form a cyclic AuI3CoIII3 hexanuclear structure, in which three [Co(D‐pen‐N,O,S)2]? octahedral units and six bridging S atoms adopt trans(O) geometrical and R chiral configurations, respectively. In [ 2 ]3?, each of three [Au(D‐pen‐S)2]3? metalloligands coordinates to two CoIII ions in a bis‐bidentate‐N,S mode to form a AuI3CoIII2 pentanuclear structure, in which two [Co(D‐pen‐N,S)3]3? units and six bridging S atoms adopt ∧ and R chiral configurations, respectively.  相似文献

Herein, a unique coordination system that exhibits multiple chiral inversions and molecular dimerization in response to a subtle pH change is reported. Treatment of (Δ)2‐H3[Au3Co2(L ‐cys)6] (H3[ 1 a ]) with [Co3(aet)6](NO3)3 (aet=2‐aminoethanethiolate) in water at pH 7 gave a 1:1 complex salt of [Co3(aet)6]3+ and [ 1 a ]3?, retaining the AuI3CoIII2 structure and chiral configurations of [ 1 a ]3?. Similar treatment at pH 9 led to not only the inversion of all of the chiral CoIII and S centers but also the dimerization of [ 1 a ]3?, giving a 2:1 complex salt of [Co3(aet)6]3+ and (Λ)4(R)12‐[Au6Co4(L ‐cys)12]6? ([ 2 ]6?). When dissociated from [Co3(aet)6]3+ in solution, [ 2 ]6? was converted to (Λ)2(R)6‐[Au3Co2(L ‐cys)6]3? ([ 1 b ]3?) with retention of the chiral configurations.  相似文献

Aurophilic interactions (AuI???AuI) are crucial in directing the supramolecular self‐assembly of many gold(I) compounds; however, this intriguing chemistry has been rarely explored for the self‐assembly of nanoscale building blocks. Herein, we report on studies on aurophilic interactions in the structure‐directed self‐assembly of ultrasmall gold nanoparticles or nanoclusters (NCs, <2 nm) using [Au25(SR)18]? (SR=thiolate ligand) as a model cluster. The self‐assembly of NCs is initiated by surface‐motif reconstruction of [Au25(SR)18]? from short SR‐[AuI‐SR]2 units to long SR‐[AuI‐SR]x (x>2) staples accompanied by structure modification of the intrinsic Au13 kernel. Such motif reconstruction increases the content of AuI species in the protecting shell of Au NCs, providing the structural basis for directed aurophilic interactions, which promote the self‐assembly of Au NCs into well‐defined nanoribbons in solution. More interestingly, the compact structure and effective aurophilic interactions in the nanoribbons significantly enhance the luminescence intensity of Au NCs with an absolute quantum yield of 6.2 % at room temperature.  相似文献

A golden fullerene Au32 cluster has been synthesized with amido and phosphine ligands as the protecting agents. Single‐crystal X‐ray structural analysis revealed that this gold nanocluster, [Au32(Ph3P)8(dpa)6] (SbF6)2 (Hdpa=2,2′‐dipyridylamine), has a stable pseudo‐Ih Au328+ core with S6 symmetry, which features an Au12@Au20 Keplerate cage co‐protected by Ph3P and dpa ligands. Quantum‐chemical studies were conducted to elucidate the origin of the special stability of this cluster, and suggest that it is electronically stabilized through metal–ligand interactions.  相似文献

Chiral binuclear gold(I) phosphine complexes catalyze enantioselective intermolecular hydroarylation of allenes with indoles in high product yields (up to 90 %) and with moderate enantioselectivities (up to 63 % ee). Among the gold(I) complexes examined, better ee values were obtained with binuclear gold(I) complexes, which displayed intramolecular AuI AuI interactions. The binuclear gold(I) complex 4c [(AuCl)2( L3 )] with chiral biaryl phosphine ligand (S)‐(−)‐MeO‐biphep ( L3 ) is the most efficient catalyst and gives the best ee value of up to 63 %. Substituents on the allene reactants have a slight effect on the enantioselectivity of the reaction. Electron‐withdrawing groups on the indole substrates decrease the enantioselectivity of the reaction. The relative reaction rates of the hydroarylation of 4‐X‐substituted 1,3‐diarylallenes with N‐methylindole in the presence of catalyst 4c [(AuCl)2( L3 )] / AgOTf [ L3 =(S)‐(−)‐MeO‐biphep], determined through competition experiments, correlate (r2=0.996) with the substituent constants σ. The slope value is −2.30, revealing both the build‐up of positive charge at the allene and electrophilic nature of the reactive AuI species. Two plausible reaction pathways were investigated by density functional theory calculations, one pathway involving intermolecular nucleophilic addition of free indole to aurated allene intermediate and another pathway involving intramolecular nucleophilic addition of aurated indole to allene via diaurated intermediate E2 . Calculated results revealed that the reaction likely proceeds via the first pathway with a lower activation energy. The role of AuI AuI interactions in affecting the enantioselectivity is discussed.  相似文献

The electronic structure and the spectroscopic properties of [Au2(CS3)2]?2, [Au2(pym‐2‐S)2] (pym = pyrimidethiolate), [Au2(dpm)2]+2 (dpm = bis(diphosphino)methane) were studied using density functional theory (DFT) at the B3LYP level. The absorption spectrum of these binuclear gold(I) complexes was calculated by single excitation time‐dependent (TD) method. All complexes showed a 1(5dσ* → 6pσ) transition associated with a metal–metal charge transfer, which is strongly interrelated with the gold–gold distance. Furthermore, we have calculated the frequency of the gold–gold vibration (νAu2) on the above complexes. The values obtained are theoretically in agreement with experimental range. © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Int J Quantum Chem, 2005  相似文献

A novel AuICoIII coordination system that is derived from the newly prepared [Co(D ‐nmp)2]? ( 1 ?; D ‐nmp=N‐methyl‐D ‐penicillaminate) and a gold(I) precursor AuI is reported. Complex 1 ? acts as a sulfur‐donating metallaligand and reacts with the gold(I) precursor to give [Au2Co2(D ‐nmp)4] ( 2 ), which has an eight‐membered AuI2CoIII2 metallaring. Treatment of 2 with [Au2(dppe)2]2+ (dppe=1,2‐bis(diphenylphosphino)ethane) leads to the formation of [Au4Co2(dppe)2(D ‐nmp)4]2+ ( 3 2+), which consists of an 18‐membered AuI4CoIII2 metallaring that accommodates a tetrahedral anion (BF4?, ClO4?, ReO4?). In solution, the metallaring structure of 3 2+ is readily interconvertible with the nine‐membered AuI2CoIII metallaring structure of [Au2Co(dppe)(D ‐nmp)2]+ ( 4 +); this process depends on external factors, such as solvent, concentration, and nature of the counteranion. These results reveal the lability of the Au? S and Au? P bonds, which is essential for metallaring expansion and contraction.  相似文献

Chiral assembly and asymmetric synthesis are critically important for the generation of chiral metal clusters with chiroptical activities. Here, a racemic mixture of [K(CH3OH)2(18‐crown‐6)]+[Cu5(StBu)6]? ( 1?CH3OH ) in the chiral space group was prepared, in which the chiral red‐emissive anionic [Cu5(StBu)6]? cluster was arranged along a twofold screw axis. Interestingly, the release of the coordinated CH3OH of the cationic units turned the chiral 1?CH3OH crystal into a mesomeric crystal [K(18‐crown‐6)]+[Cu5(StBu)6]? ( 1 ), which has a centrosymmetric space group, by adding symmetry elements of glide and mirror planes through both disordered [Cu5(StBu)6]? units. The switchable chiral/achiral rearrangement of [Cu5(StBu)6]? clusters along with the capture/release of CH3OH were concomitant with an intense increase/decrease in luminescence. We also used cationic chiral amino alcohols to induce the chiral assembly of a pair of enantiomers, [d /l ‐valinol(18‐crown‐6)]+[Cu5(StBu)6]? ( d /l ‐Cu5V ), which display impressive circularly polarized luminescence (CPL) in contrast to the CPL‐silent racemic mixture of 1?CH3OH and mesomeric 1 .  相似文献

2,3‐bis(diphenylphosphino)butane enantiomers (chiraphos, L) used as chiral auxiliaries results in the preferential formation of an unprecedented Au24 framework with inherent chirality. The crystal structure of [Au24L6Cl4]2+ ( 1 ) has a square antiprism‐like octagold core twinned by two helicene‐like hexagold motifs, where the inherent chirality is associated with the helical arrangement. The clusters carrying (R,R)‐ and (S,S)‐ diphosphines had right‐ and left‐handed strands, respectively. Circular dichroism spectra showed peaks in the visible to near‐IR region, some of which did not coincide with absorption bands, suggesting the enantiomeric Au24 frameworks possess unique chiroptical properties. The Au24 frameworks were thermally robust, which could be attributed to the superatomic concept (18 e? system) and the steric constraint effects of the bridging ligand units.  相似文献

A unique example of a hydrogen‐bonded ionic solid with a porosity of 80 %, [Co(H2O)6]3[Co2Au3(d ‐pen‐N,S)6]2 ( 1 ; d ‐H2pen=d ‐penicillamine), composed of [Co(H2O)6]2+ cations and [Co2Au3(d ‐pen‐N,S)6]3? anions, is reported. Solid 1 was kinetically produced and was then transformed stepwise into two more thermodynamically stable solids with lower porosities, [Co(H2O)4][Co(H2O)6]2[Co2Au3(d ‐pen‐N,S)6]2 ( 2 ) and [Co(H2O)4]3[Co2Au3(d ‐pen‐N,S)6]2 ( 3 ), through the coordination of the free carboxylate groups in [Co2Au3(d ‐pen‐N,S)6]3? to CoII centers. Solids 1 – 3 were structurally characterized, and the selective adsorption of small molecules into their pores was investigated.  相似文献

The crystal structures of two salts of bis(thiourea)gold(I) complexes, namely bis(thiourea‐κS)gold(I) chloride, [Au(CH4N2S)2]Cl, (I), and bis[bis(thiourea‐κS)gold(I)] sulfate, [Au(CH4N2S)2]2SO4, (II), have been determined. The chloride salt, (I), is isomorphous with the corresponding bromide salt, although there are differences in the bonding. The AuI ion is located on an inversion centre and coordinated by two symmetry‐related thiourea ligands through the lone pairs on their S atoms [Au—S 2.278 (2) Å and Au—S—C 105.3 (2)°]. The sulfate salt, (II), crystallizes with four independent [Au(CH4N2S)2]+ cations per asymmetric unit, all with nearly linear S—Au—S bonding. The cations in (II) have similar conformations to that found for (I). The Au—S distances range from 2.276 (3) to 2.287 (3) Å and the Au—S—C angles from 173.5 (1) to 177.7 (1)°. These data are relevant in interpreting different electrochemical processes where gold–thiourea species are formed.  相似文献

We demonstrated, for the first time, atomically precise synthesis of gold cluster cations by magnetron sputtering of a gold target onto a polyethylene glycol (PEG) solution of 1,3-bis(diphenylphosphino)propane (Ph2PCH2CH2CH2PPh2, dppp). UV-vis absorption spectroscopy and electrospray ionization mass spectrometry revealed the formation of cationic species, such as [Au(dppp)n]+ (n = 1, 2), [Au2(dppp)n]2+ (n = 3, 4), [Au6(dppp)n]2+ (n = 3, 4), and [Au11(dppp)5]3+. The formation of [Au(dppp)2]+ was ascribed to ionization of Au(dppp)2 by the reaction with PEG, based on its low ionization energy, theoretically predicted, mass spectrometric detection of deprotonated anions of PEG. We proposed that [Au(dppp)2]+ cations thus formed are involved as key components in the formation of the cluster cations.  相似文献

Two homoleptic alkynyl‐protected gold clusters with compositions of Na[Au25(C≡CAr)18] and (Ph4P)[Au25(C≡CAr)18] (Na? 1 and Ph4P? 1 , Ar=3,5‐bis(trifluoromethyl)phenyl) were synthesized via a direct reduction method. 1 is a magic cluster analogous to [Au25(SR)18]? in terms of electron counts and metal‐to‐ligand ratio. Single‐crystal structure analysis reveals that 1 has an identical Au13 kernel to [Au25(SR)18]?, but adopts a distinctly different arrangement of the six peripheral dimer staple motifs. The steric hindrance of alkynyl ligands is responsible for the D3 arrangement of Au25. The introduction of alkynyl also significantly changes the optical absorption features of the nanocluster as supported by DFT calculations. This magic cluster confirms that there is a similar but quite different parallel alkynyl‐protected metal cluster universe in comparison to the thiolated one.  相似文献

A 23‐gold‐atom nanocluster was prepared by NaBH4‐mediated reduction of a solution of PhC?CAu and Ph3PAuSbF6 in CH2Cl2. The cluster composition was determined to be [Au23(PhC?C)9(Ph3P)6]2+ and single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction revealed that the cluster has an unprecedented Au17 kernel protected by three PhC2‐Au‐C2(Ph)‐Au‐C2Ph motifs and six Ph3P groups. The Au17 core can be viewed as the fusion of two Au10 units sharing a Au3 triangle. Electronic structure analysis from DFT calculations suggests that the stability of this unusual 12‐electron cluster is a result of the splitting of the superatomic 1D orbitals under D3h symmetry of the Au17 kernel. The discovery and determination of the structure of the Au23 cluster demonstrates the versatility of the alkynyl ligand in leading to the formation of new cluster compounds.  相似文献

Chiral self-recognition and self-discrimination are of vital importance to biological processes. In this work, 2D regular rhombic nanocrystals ( RS -NC ) were fabricated through heterochiral self-discrimination between chiral polynuclear gold(I)-sulfido complex enantiomers, [(R-BINAP)4Au10S4]Cl2 ( R -Au10 ) and [(S-BINAP)4Au10S4]Cl2 ( S -Au10 ), in MeOH without the need for any surfactants or templates. The monitoring of nanocrystals (NCs) formation by TEM and DLS has uncovered the self-assembly process and shape evolution of the NCs and revealed a screw-dislocation dictated spiral growth of the rhombic NCs. Upon addition of chiral anions, the morphology of the gold NCs was found to change from rhombic to strip and quasi-hexagonal nanosheets, arising from reverse and rotational layer-by-layer stacking to give the bilayer NCs. By applying a high temperature, rhombic gold nanoisland films were obtained from the rhombic NCs. The current study has provided a simple strategy towards the construction of regular geometric 2D NCs as well as their chiral anion-tuned and reverse and rotational stacking-determined morphology change by heterochiral self-discrimination.  相似文献

A unique example of a ring‐to‐cage structural conversion in a multinuclear gold(I) coordination system with d ‐penicillamine (d ‐H2pen) is reported. The reaction of [Au2Cl2(dppe)] (dppe=1,2‐bis(diphenylphosphino)ethane) with d ‐H2pen in a 1:1 ratio gave [Au4(dppe)2(d ‐pen)2] ([ 1 ]), in which two [Au2(dppe)]2+ units are linked by two d ‐pen S atoms in a cyclic form so as to have two bidentate‐N,O coordination arms. The subsequent reaction of [ 1 ] with Cu(OTf)2 afforded [Au4Cu(dppe)2(d ‐pen)2]2+ ([ 2 ]2+), in which a CuII ion is chelated by the two coordination arms in [ 1 ] to form an AuI4CuII bicyclic metallocage. A similar reaction using Cu(NO3)2 was accompanied by the ring expansion of [ 1 ] to [Au8(dppe)4(d ‐pen)4], leading to the production of [Au8Cu2(dppe)4(d ‐pen)4]4+ ([ 3 ]4+). In [ 3 ]4+, two CuII ions are each chelated by the two coordination arms to form an AuI8CuII2 tricyclic metallocage, accommodating a nitrate ion. The use of Ni(NO3)2 or Ni(OAc)2 instead of Cu(NO3)2 commonly gave a tricyclic metallocage of [Au8Ni2(dppe)4(d ‐pen)4]4+ ([ 4 ]4+), but a water molecule was accommodated inside the AuI8NiII2 metallocage.  相似文献

In this report, we describe our recent work on the development of a new family of chiral heteroleptic digold(I) metalloligands with mixed diphosphine and d ‐penicillaminate (d ‐pen), [Au2(dppx)(d ‐pen‐S)2]2– (dppx = PPh2(CH2)nPPh2, n = 1–5) and their application for the construction of chiral multinuclear and metallosupramolecular structures. The reactions of the metalloligands with 3d metal ions produce a variety of chiral heterobimetallic structures retaining the digold(I) metalloligand structure, ranging from discrete trinuclear to infinite helix structures that depend on the type of dppx. In addition, monophosphine and triphosphine analogues of the metalloligands were designed, and their coordination behavior is discussed to show the essential properties and potential extensibility of this class of metalloligands.  相似文献
