The optical constants (real and imaginary refractive indices) and imaginary molar polarizability spectrum of liquid toluene-d8 are presented for the first time. The spectra were determined between 4000 and 450 cm−1 at 25 °C. The fundamentals of toluene-d8 in the liquid phase are revisited with the aid of gas phase spectra of toluene and toluene-d8, ab initio calculations, and previously reported liquid assignments of toluene.  相似文献

The infrared (3500–40 cm−1) spectra of gaseous and solid 1-fluoro-1-methylsilacyclobutane, c-C3H6SiF(CH3), have been recorded. Additionally, the Raman spectrum (3500–30 cm−1) of the liquid has been recorded and quantitative depolarization values have been obtained. Both the axial and equatorial (with respect to the methyl group) conformers have been identified in the fluid phases. Variable temperature (−55–−100°C) studies of the infrared spectra of the sample dissolved in liquid xenon have been carried out. From these data, the enthalpy difference has been determined to be 267±10 cm−1 (3.19±0.12 kJ mol−1), with the axial conformer being the more stable form and the only conformer remaining in the polycrystalline solid. A complete vibrational assignment is proposed for the axial conformer and many of the fundamentals for the equatorial conformer have also been identified. The vibrational assignments are supported by normal coordinate calculations utilizing ab initio force constants. Complete equilibrium geometries have been determined for both rotamers by ab initio calculations employing the 6-31G* and 6-311++G** basis sets at the levels of restricted Hartree–Fock (RHF) and/or Moller–Plesset (MP) to second order. The results are discussed and compared to those obtained for some similar molecules.  相似文献

This paper reports the complex refractive index, molar absorption coefficient and imaginary molar polarizability spectra of liquid iodobenzene at 25 degrees C. The imaginary molar polarizability spectrum was fitted with 184 classical damped harmonic bands to determine the integrated intensity of the individual transitions. The standard deviation of the fitted spectrum from the experimental spectrum is 0.024 cm(3) mol(-1), and the R(2) value of the fit is 0.9968 indicating that the fitted spectrum is an accurate representation of the experimental spectrum. The dipole moment derivatives with respect to the normal coordinates and transition moments were determined for 26 of the 30 fundamentals. The total intensities of the in-plane and out-of-plane fundamentals were compared to benzene and other monosubstituted benzene derivatives using the F-sum rule. It was found that the total intensity of the out-of-plane fundamentals is essentially the same for the different compounds while the total intensities for the in-plane fundamentals varies according to the electronegativities of the substituents.  相似文献

The optical constants (real and imaginary refractive indices) of hexafluorobenzene were determined at 25 °C via transmission measurements. Experimental absorbance spectra measured on a Nicolet Impact 410 FTIR were converted to imaginary refractive indices using methods described in the literature. The real refractive indices were obtained by Kramers–Kronig transformation of the imaginary refractive indices. From the complex refractive indices, the molar absorption coefficient (Em) and complex molar polarizability spectra were calculated. The integrated intensities for the E1u fundamentals were obtained from the areas under the bands in the spectrum. These integrated intensities are compared to those for benzene and benzene-d6 in the literature.  相似文献

The infrared (3500-50 cm−1) and Raman (3500-20 cm−1) spectra of 1,2-pentadiene, H2C=C=C(H)CH2CH3 (ethyl allene), have been recorded for both the gaseous and solid states. Additionally, the Raman spectrum of the liquid has been obtained with qualitative depolarization values. In the fluid phases both the cis and gauche conformers have been identified, with the gauche rotamer being the predominant form although it may not be the conformer of lowest energy. In the solid state only the cis conformer remains after repeated annealing of the crystal. The asymmetric torsion of the cis conformer is observed as a series of Q-branch transitions beginning at 103.4 cm−1 and falling to lower frequency. An estimate of the potential function governing conformer interconversion is provided. A complete assignment of the normal modes for the cis conformer is given and several of the fundamentals are assigned for the gauche rotamer. Ab initio electronic structure calculations of energies, conformational geometries, vibrational frequencies, and potential energy functions have been made to complement and assist the interpretation of the infrared and Raman spectra. In particular, the transitions among torsional energy levels for both the symmetric (methyl) and asymmetric (ethyl) motions have been calculated. The results are compared to the corresponding quantities for some similar molecules.  相似文献

The basic copper arsenate mineral strashimirite Cu8(AsO4)4(OH)4·5H2O from two different localities has been studied by Raman spectroscopy and complemented by infrared spectroscopy. Two strashimirite mineral samples were obtained from the Czech (sample A) and Slovak (sample B) Republics. Two Raman bands for sample A are identified at 839 and 856 cm−1 and for sample B at 843 and 891 cm−1 are assigned to the ν1 (AsO43−) symmetric and the ν3 (AsO43−) antisymmetric stretching modes, respectively. The broad band for sample A centred upon 500 cm−1, resolved into component bands at 467, 497, 526 and 554 cm−1 and for sample B at 507 and 560 cm−1 include bands which are attributable to the ν4 (AsO43−) bending mode. In the Raman spectra, two bands (sample A) at 337 and 393 cm−1 and at 343 and 374 cm−1 for sample B are attributed to the ν2 (AsO43−) bending mode. The Raman spectrum of strashimirite sample A shows three resolved bands at 3450, 3488 and 3585 cm−1. The first two bands are attributed to water stretching vibrations whereas the band at 3585 cm−1 to OH stretching vibrations of the hydroxyl units. Two bands (3497 and 3444 cm−1) are observed in the Raman spectrum of B. A comparison is made of the Raman spectrum of strashimirite with the Raman spectra of other selected basic copper arsenates including olivenite, cornwallite, cornubite and clinoclase.  相似文献

Raman spectroscopy complimented with infrared spectroscopy has been used to characterise the antimonate mineral bindheimite Pb2Sb2O6(O,OH). The mineral is characterised by an intense Raman band at 656 cm−1 assigned to SbO stretching vibrations. Other lower intensity bands at 664, 749 and 814 cm−1 are also assigned to stretching vibrations. This observation suggests the non-equivalence of SbO units in the structure. Low intensity Raman bands at 293, 312 and 328 cm−1 are assigned to the OSbO bending vibrations. Infrared bands at 979, 1008, 1037 and 1058 cm−1 may be assigned to δOH deformation modes of SbOH units. Infrared bands at 1603 and 1640 cm−1 are assigned to water bending vibrations, suggesting that water is involved in the bindheimite structure. Broad infrared bands centred upon 3250 cm−1 supports this concept. Thus the true formula of bindheimite is questioned and probably should be written as Pb2Sb2O6(O,OH,H2O).  相似文献

This paper presents accurate infrared absorption intensities of liquid benzene-d6 at 25?°C, between 5000 and 450 cm–1. The results are presented as graphs and tables of the real, n, and imaginary, k, refractive index spectra, which are also called the optical constant spectra. The real refractive index is shown between 8000 and 450 cm–1. The absolute errors in the k values are estimated to be ~3% below, and up to 60%, above, 4700 cm–1, with those in the n values ~0.25% throughout. The Beer-Lambert molar absorption coefficient spectra, E m(?ν), and the complex dielectric constant spectra, ?′(?ν) and ?″(?ν), were calculated from the optical constant spectra. To correct for macroscopic dielectric effects, the complex molar polarizability spectra, α′m(?ν) and α″m(?ν), were calculated from the dielectric constant spectra under the Lorentz local field. The properties of bands in these different spectra are compared. The imaginary molar polarizability spectra were fitted convincingly to 208 Classical Damped Harmonic Oscillator bands, and the areas under the corresponding ?να″m bands gave the integrated intensities C j . These were assigned as far as possible and are tabulated. The transition dipole moments of well assigned transitions, and for the infrared-active fundamentals, under the double harmonic approximation, the dipole moment derivatives with respect to the normal coordinates, were calculated from the values of C j , and are presented. This appears to be the first extensive measurement of the infrared absorption intensities of liquid benzene-d6. The results are compared with literature data for liquid and gaseous benzene-d6.  相似文献

The Raman (3200 to 10 cm–1) and infrared (3500 to 50 cm–1) spectra of vinyl chloroformate, H2C=CHOC(O)Cl, have been recorded for both the gas and solid. Additionally, the Raman spectrum of the liquid has been recorded, and depolarization ratios have been obtained. These data have been interpreted on the basis that the only stable conformation present at ambient temperature is thetrans-trans rotamer, where the firsttrans refers to the vinyl moiety relative to the O—CCl bond and the second to the C—Cl bond relative to the=C—O bond. Using harmonic rigid asymmetric top calculations, the infrared vapor phase contours for the C=O and the C=C stretch were predicted for thetrans-trans and for thecis-trans conformer, and were compared with experiment. For both fundamentals thetrans-trans hybrid reproduces the experimental contour, whereas thecis-trans contours fail to do so for both fundamentals. From far-infrared spectrum of the vapor obtained at 0.1 cm–1 resolution, the C(O)Cl andO-vinyl torsional fundamentals have been observed at 132 and 61 cm–1, respectively. Ther 0 structural parameters have been obtained from a combination of ab initio calculated parameters with appropriate offset values and the fit of the microwave rotational constants for the two naturally occurring chlorine isotopes. The structure, barrier to internal rotation, and vibrational frequencies have been determined from ab initio Hartree-Fock gradient calculations, using the 3-21G* and 6-31G* basis sets. These results are compared to those obtained experimentally and to similar quantities for some related molecules.  相似文献

Adsorption (at a low temperature) of nitrogen on the protonic zeolite H-Y results in hydrogen bonding of the adsorbed N2 molecules with the zeolite Si(OH)Al Brønsted-acid groups. This hydrogen-bonding interaction leads to activation, in the infrared, of the fundamental N–N stretching mode, which appears at 2334 cm−1. From infrared spectra taken over a temperature range, the standard enthalpy of formation of the OH···N2 complex was found to be ΔH0 = −15.7(±1) kJ mol−1. Similarly, variable-temperature infrared spectroscopy was used to determine the standard enthalpy change involved in formation of H-bonded CO complexes for CO adsorbed on the zeolites H-ZSM-5 and H-FER; the corresponding values of ΔH0 were found to be −29.4(±1) and −28.4(±1) kJ mol−1, respectively. The whole set of results was analysed in the context of other relevant data available in the literature.  相似文献

The infrared spectra (3200-50 cm–1) of gaseous and solid vinyltrichlorosilane, CH2=CH-SiCl3, have been recorded. In addition, the Raman spectrum (3200-10 cm–1) of the liquid has been recorded and quantitative depolarization values obtained. The infrared spectrum of the sample dissolved in liquid xenon (–80°C) has also been recorded. Using the experimental data and normal coordinate calculations with scaled ab initio force constants, the complete vibrational assignment is proposed. The torsional mode was observed in the infrared spectrum of the gas at 69 cm–1 and the threefold barrier of internal rotation was calculated to be 500 cm–1 (5.98 kJ/mol). Ab initio calculations have been carried out at the restricted Hartree–Fock level of the theory as well as with full electron correlation by the perturbation method to second order with different basis sets up to 6-311+G(d,p) to obtain the optimized geometries, harmonic force constants, infrared intensities, Raman activities, depolarization ratios, and vibrational frequencies. The ab initio predicted structural parameters are compared with those obtained from a previous electron diffraction study.  相似文献

The possible stable forms of 3-phenylpropylamine (3-PPA) molecule were experimentally and theoretically studied by infrared and Raman spectroscopy. FT-IR and Raman spectra of 3-PPA were recorded in the regions of 4000–400 cm−1 and 3700–60 cm−1, respectively. The potential energy surface corresponding to the internal rotations of the molecule was investigated by semi-empirical quantum mechanical methods, and appropriate conformers defined with B3LYP hybrid density functional theory method along with the basis sets of different size and type. Results from experimental and theoretical data showed the transtransgauche (TTG) to be the most stable form of a 3-PPA molecule.  相似文献

The infrared (3500-80 cm−1) and Raman (3500-20 cm−1) spectra of 3-fluoro-1-butyne, CH3CHFCCH, have been recorded for the gas and solid. Additionally, the Raman spectrum of the liquid has also been recorded to aid in the vibrational assignment. Ab initio electronic structure calculations of energies, geometrical structures, vibrational frequencies, infrared intensities, Raman activities and the potential energy function for the methyl torsion have been calculated to assist in the interpretation of the spectra. The fundamental torsional mode is observed at 251 cm−1 with a series of sequence peaks falling to lower frequency. The three-fold methyl torsional barrier is calculated to be 1441 ± 20 cm−1 (4.12 ± 0.06 kcal mol−1) where the uncertainty is partly due to the uncertainty in values of the V6 term. A complete vibrational assignment is proposed based on band contours, relative intensities, and ab initio predicted frequencies. Several fundamentals are significantly shifted in the condensed phases compared to values in the vapor state.  相似文献

The healing process in guinea pig skin following surgical incisions was evaluated at the molecular level, in vivo, by the use of Raman spectroscopy. After the incisions were closed either by suturing or by laser tissue welding (LTW), differences in the respective Raman spectra were identified. The study determined that the ratio of the Raman peaks of the amide III (1247 cm−1) band to a peak at 1326 cm−1 (the superposition of elastin and keratin bands) can be used to evaluate the progression of wound healing. Conformational changes in the amide I band (1633–1682 cm−1) and spectrum changes in the range of 1450–1520 cm−1 were observed in LTW and sutured skin. The stages of the healing process of the guinea pig skin following LTW and suturing were evaluated by Raman spectroscopy, using histopathology as the gold standard. LTW skin demonstrated better healing than sutured skin, exhibiting minimal hyperkeratosis, minimal collagen deposition, near-normal surface contour, and minimal loss of dermal appendages. A wavelet decomposition–reconstruction baseline correction algorithm was employed to remove the fluorescence wing from the Raman spectra.  相似文献

Infrared and Raman spectra have been collected and analyzed for n-pentane and n-pentane-d12. The real (n) and imaginary (k) refractive index spectra for each compound have been calculated from the experimental infrared spectra after determining the refractive indices of n-pentane across the visible region of the electromagnetic spectrum. To further aid in the study, the imaginary polarizability (IP) spectrum for each compound was calculated from the n and k spectra, then curvefit to separate intensities. Computational DFT calculations were performed to create theoretical spectra of each compound, which in turn aid in assigning vibrations in the experimental spectrum. Barriers to rotation for n-pentane were explored to determine the dominant conformations.  相似文献

The FT-IR and FT-Raman spectra of 2-phenoxymethylbenzothiazole were recorded and analyzed. The surface enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) spectrum was recorded in a silver colloid. The vibrational wavenumbers of the compound have been computed using the Hartree–Fock/6-31G* basis and compared with the experimental values. The appearance of the Ag–O stretching mode at 237 cm−1 in the SERS spectrum along with theoretically calculated atomic charge density, leads us to suggest that the molecule is adsorbed through the oxygen atom with the molecular plane tilted on the colloidal silver surface. The direction of charge transfer contribution to SERS has been discussed from the frontier orbital theory.  相似文献

The standard (p = 0.1 MPa) molar enthalpies of formation of 2-, 3- and 4-cyanobenzoic acids were derived from their standard molar energies of combustion, in oxygen, at T = 298.15 K, measured by static bomb combustion calorimetry. The Calvet high temperature vacuum sublimation technique was used to measure the enthalpies of sublimation of 2- and 3-cyanobenzoic acids. The standard molar enthalpies of formation of the three compounds, in the gaseous phase, at T = 298.15 K, have been derived from the corresponding standard molar enthalpies of formation in the condensed phase and standard molar enthalpies for phase transition. The results obtained are −(150.7 ± 2.0) kJ · mol−1, −(153.6 ± 1.7) kJ · mol−1 and −(157.1 ± 1.4) kJ · mol−1 for 2-cyano, 3-cyano and 4-cyanobenzoic acids, respectively. Standard molar enthalpies of formation were also estimated by employing two different methodologies: one based on the Cox scheme and the other one based on several different computational approaches. The calculated values show a good agreement with the experimental values obtained in this work.  相似文献

Radical cations and dications of two carotenoids astaxanthin and canthaxanthin were prepared by oxidation with FeCl3 in fluorinated alcohols at room temperature. Absorption and electroabsorption (Stark effect) spectra were recorded for astaxanthin cations in mixed frozen matrices at temperatures about 160 K. The D0→D2 transition in cation radical is at 835 nm. The electroabsorption spectrum for the D0→D2 transition exhibits a negative change of molecular polarizability, Δα=−1.2·10−38 C·m2/V (−105 A3), which seems to originate from the change in bond order alternation in the ground state rather than from the electric field-induced interaction of D1 and D2 excited states. Absorption spectrum of astaxanthin dication is located at 715–717 nm, between those of D0→D2 in cation radical and S0→S2 in neutral carotenoid. Its shape reflects a short vibronic progression and strong inhomogeneous broadening. The polarizability change on electronic excitation, Δα=2.89·10−38 C·m2/V (260 A3), is five times smaller than in neutral astaxanthin. This value reflects the larger energetic distance from the lowest excited state to the higher excited states than in the neutral molecule.  相似文献

The natural gypsum has been investigated by infrared, Raman, X-ray diffraction, optical absorption and electron paramagnetic resonance spectroscopy. The fundamental stretching and bending vibrations observed in the infrared region for SO42− and H2O are compared with the near-infrared overtones and combinations of these vibrations. MIR and Raman spectral features are attributed to sulfate fundamentals and lattice vibrations of H2O, SO42−. The charge transfer and ligand field transition bands were observed near 490, 630, and 800–900 nm and were compared to those of iron oxides. The optical absorption spectrum indicates the presence of ferric and ferrous ions in the mineral. The site symmetry of Fe(III) in the sample is tetragonally distorted. EPR results indicate the presence of the ferric ion in a tetragonally distorted state.  相似文献
