The specific features in the behavior of deformation characteristics of low-ohmic p-type germanium single crystals subjected to different types of combined plastic deformation and the anisotropy of the electrical resistance of specimens in the longitudinal and transverse directions have been investigated. Both the acceptor and donor actions of dislocations have been observed in the motion of charge carriers along the direction of compression of the specimen. Under conditions of the joint action of a weak magnetic field and a combined plastic deformation, a decrease in the macroplasticity effects has been revealed. Anisotropy of the electrical resistance of p-Ge specimens in the longitudinal and transverse directions has been found. A possible explanation of the observed effect is given.  相似文献

The paper reports observation of a strong macroplastic effect of weak magnetic and electric fields (B≤0.4 T, E~1 kV/m) when applied simultaneously to NaCl samples in the course of their active deformation at constant rate ?=const. In the absence of magnetic field, electric effects in the macroplasticity of the same crystals become manifest at fields E≥103 kV/m. Quantitative dependences of the macroplasticity on magnetic and electric fields and on the strain rate have been measured. A physical interpretation of the observed phenomena is proposed.  相似文献

Surface instability of a collisionless semi-infinite current carrying plasma is studied. The semi-infinite plasma bounded by a plane surface is under the influence of a high frequency (hf) field. There are two classes of surface modes. One is a normal extension of zero high frequency field and the other due entirely to the presence ofhf field. As expected, with the increase in thehf field, the growth rates of the surface instabilities decrease. There are regions defined by the electron drift velocityu where the unstable surface and bulk regions overlap. The interesting result is that unlike the bulk plasma, there is a stable region on theu-axis flanked by two unstable regions. The width of this stable region increases with the increase in the field strength.  相似文献

The ionization energies and the polarizabilities of a donor in an isolated well of a quasi two dimensional (Q2D) GaAs/Ga1−x Al x As heterostructure have been obtained for different well widths including electron-lattice coupling. A wave function that properly reduces to the hydrogenic function in the limiting case has been used. For fields of the order of 105 V/m, the ionization energies decrease slightly with electric fields for all well widths (10 nm to 50 nm) studied. Also for a given electric field, as the well width increases, the ionization energy decreases. For fields of the order of 107 V/m and for smaller well widths (<10 nm), the ionization energy generally increases with electric field. The results also show that for electric fields of this order, no donor bound state associated with the lowest subband is possible for well widths greater than 20 nm. The polarizabilities estimated using the expression for the dipole operator show that as the well width increases, the polarizability values also increase and do not show any abnormal behaviour.  相似文献

Electron tunneling through a double quantum-dot molecule, in the Kondo regime, under the effect of a magnetic field and an applied voltage, is studied. This system possesses a complex response to the applied fields characterized by a tristable solution for the conductance. The different nature of the solutions are studied in and out thermodynamical equilibrium. It is shown that the interdot coupling and the fields can be used to control the region of multistability. The mean-field slave-boson formalism is used to obtain the solution for the problem.  相似文献

Mechanisms of static deformation of a freely suspended ferroelectric smectic (C*) film in an external transverse electric field are analyzed. An equation for the shape of the film that includes the interaction of the applied field with the polarization vector and surface charges is derived in terms of the variational approach. The effect of deformation is shown to be of threshold character, which agrees with the experimental data.  相似文献

Evolution of a Harris current sheet in the presence of an electric field is studied numerically. An explicit scheme is used to recalculate the particle distribution function with respect to velocities. The mechanism of formation of electric fields is analyzed on the basis of the phase volume conservation theorem. The electrohydrodynamic behaviors and evolution processes of silicone oil droplet in castor oil under uniform direct current(DC)electric field are visually observed based on a high-speed microscopic platform.Subsequently,the effects of different working conditions,such as electric field strength,droplet size,etc.,on droplet behaviors are roundly discussed.It can be found that there are four droplet behavior modes,including Taylor deformation,typical oblique rotation,periodic oscillation,and fracture,which change with the increase of electric field strength.It is also demonstrated that the degree of flat ellipse deformation gets larger under a stronger electric field.Moreover,both of the stronger electric field and smaller droplet size lead to an increase in the rotation angle of the droplet.  相似文献

通过Fokker-Planck模拟,研究了等离子体在任意强度的直流电场中产生电流的过程以及电子分布函数的演变过程.研究发现,不同强度的电场中等离子体的行为存在着明显的差别.在弱电场中,电流与电场满足Spitzer公式,且电流产生的响应时间约等于撤销电场后电流衰减的弛豫时间;在中等强度的电场中,电子分布函数呈现为静止Maxwell分布和漂移Maxwell分布之和,而且在中等强度或者强直流电场中弛豫时间也将远远大于响应时间.根据电子分布函数的演变规律,推导了一组类似于流体力学方程的公式,这组方程像Spitzer公式一样简便地描述了等离子体中电流与电场的关系,并且对电场强度没有限制.数值模拟显示这组方程比Spitzer公式更适用于等离子体的混合粒子模拟中. 关键词: 等离子体电流 电子分布函数 Fokker-Planck模拟 Spitzer公式  相似文献

We have investigated the forced diffusion of magnetic nanoparticles suspended in a carrier liquid under the influence of a magnetic field gradient. A cylindrical layer of the suspension was exposed to an azimuthal magnetic field with radial gradient. The radial distribution of the concentration of magnetic particles was determined for different times. The obtained experimental data are compared with a numerical solution of the diffusion equation and good agreement has been observed.  相似文献

The deformation of the optical axis of a nematic liquid crystal layer under the influence of an electric field is caused by the dielectric torque. This momentum counteracts with an elastic torque generated by interfacial forces between the surface of the electrode and the liquid crystal. By means of a variational analysis, the deformation profiles within the liquid crystal layer are calculated, assuming large interfacial energies and various angles of pretilt of the liquid crystal directors with respect to the electrodes. Both the extreme case of a homeotropic (vertical) alignment on one electrode and a homogeneous (parallel) alignment on the opposite electrode, as well as the general case of arbitrary and different alignments on both electrodes, lead to heavily pretilted liquid crystal layers, resulting in definite deformation profiles without disclinations. Liquid crystal cells prepared in this way neither show threshold voltages nor delay times when electrical fields are applied. Measured and calculated characteristics of such liquid crystal cells are presented, they show good agreement.  相似文献

For different applied magnetic fields, the intersubband transitions of double Si δ-doped GaAs structures is theoretically investigated for a uniform donor distribution. The electronic structure has been calculated by solving the Schrödinger and Poisson equations self-consistently. It is found that the intersubband optical absorption and mobility are sensitive to the applied magnetic field: for all allowed intersubband transitions the intersubband absorption spectra show blueshifts. The results open the possibility to design devices for use as optical filters controlled by an applied magnetic field, depending on the δ-doped structure. It is hoped that these results will provide important improvement in device applications, for a suitable choice of magnetic field.  相似文献
