General expressions for Compton scattering and itsO(α) real and virtual corrections are given for electron and photon beams with arbitrary polarization. The expressions obtained are suitable for use in Monte Carlo simulations of Compton polarimeters planned for polarizede + e ? colliders. The basis for the calculation is the spinor techniques recently applied to photon and gluon bremsstrahlung. The practical application of these techniques for massive fermions is discussed.  相似文献

Quantum chromodynamics corrections to orderα s (the running coupling constant), using the quark-parton approach are calculated for the spin-dependent structure functions in deep-inelastic polarised electron-nucleon scattering. Consequences of these corrections for the Bjorken sum rule and the asymmetry in the case of longitudinally polarised (with respect to the beam) nucleons is discussed which could provide possible tests of quantum chromodynamics. Comparison of our results with the moments of the flavour non-singlet contribution to the structure functions obtained using operator product expansion is also given. When increasing the laser power to obtain intense X-ray laser, nonlinear Compton scattering happens. Nonlinear Compton scattering of linearly polarized laser beam is discussed in this paper. The leading-log model-independent radiative corrections to deep-inelastic scattering of an unpolarized electron beam from the tensor-polarized deuteron target have been considered. We investigate the possibility of identifying an explicit pionic component of the nucleon through measurements of polarized ++ baryon fragments produced in deep-inelastic leptoproduction off polarized protons, which may help to identify the physical mechanism responsible for the breaking of the Gottfried sum rule. The pion-exchange model predicts highly correlated polarizations of the ++ and target proton, in marked contrast with the competing diquark fragmentation process. Measurement of asymmetries in polarized production may also reveal the presence of a kaon cloud in the nucleon.Communicated by: W. Weise  相似文献

The paper contains a sign mistake. In Eqs. (1), (25), (30) and (38) the form factor R T and the ratio are to be replaced by -R T and , respectively. The predictions for A LL = K LL shown in Fig. 7, are nearly independent of this change while those for A LS = - K LS are substantially smaller in absolute value than the results shown in Fig. 8. We investigate corrections to the handbag approach for wide-angle Compton scattering off protons at moderately large momentum transfer: the photon–parton subprocess is calculated to next-to-leading order in and contributions from the generalized parton distribution E are taken into account. Photon and proton helicity flip amplitudes are non-zero due to these corrections, which leads to a wealth of polarization phenomena in Compton scattering. Thus, for instance, the incoming photon asymmetry or the transverse polarization of the proton is non-zero, although small. A Monte-Carlo simulation of energy spectra of Compton double scattered X-rays has been made as functions of the incident energy of elliptically polarized X-rays and the atomic number of samples having different shapes and volumes. This simulation is based on the previous one made by one of the authors (N.S.), in which completely circularly polarized γ-rays were only assumed, and is improved to meet the multiple scattering correction on experimental Compton profiles measured with linearly or elliptically polarized synchrotron radiations. The results are compared with two experiments in reasonable agreement.  相似文献
