Stochastic calculus and stochastic differential equations for Brownian motion were introduced by K. Itô in order to give a pathwise construction of diffusion processes. This calculus has deep connections with objects such as the Fock space and the Heisenberg canonical commutation relations, which have a central role in quantum physics. We review these connections, and give a brief introduction to the noncommutative extension of Itô’s stochastic integration due to Hudson and Parthasarathy. Then we apply this scheme to show how finite Markov chains can be constructed by solving stochastic differential equations, similar to diffusion equations, on the Fock space.  相似文献

We explain how Itô’s excursion theory can be used to understand the asymptotic behavior of large random trees. We provide precise statements showing that the rescaled contour of a large Galton–Watson tree is asymptotically distributed according to Itô’s excursion measure. As an application, we provide a simple derivation of Aldous’ theorem stating that the rescaled contour function of a Galton–Watson tree conditioned to have a fixed large progeny converges to a normalized Brownian excursion. We also establish a similar result for a Galton–Watson tree conditioned to have a fixed large height.  相似文献

In this paper we provide existence and uniqueness results for the solution of BSDEs driven by a general square-integrable martingale under partial information. We discuss some special cases where the solution to a BSDE under restricted information can be derived by that related to a problem of a BSDE under full information. In particular, we provide a suitable version of the Föllmer–Schweizer decomposition of a square-integrable random variable working under partial information and we use this achievement to investigate the local risk-minimization approach for a semimartingale financial market model.  相似文献

Given a random variable FF regular enough in the sense of the Malliavin calculus, we are able to measure the distance between its law and any probability measure with a density function which is continuous, bounded, strictly positive on an interval in the real line and admits finite variance. The bounds are given in terms of the Malliavin derivative of FF. Our approach is based on the theory of Itô diffusions and the stochastic calculus of variations. Several examples are considered in order to illustrate our general results.  相似文献

Degenerate parabolic equations of Kolmogorov type occur in many areas of analysis and applied mathematics. In their simplest form these equations were introduced by Kolmogorov in 1934 to describe the probability density of the positions and velocities of particles but the equations are also used as prototypes for evolution equations arising in the kinetic theory of gases. More recently equations of Kolmogorov type have also turned out to be relevant in option pricing in the setting of certain models for stochastic volatility and in the pricing of Asian options. The purpose of this paper is to numerically solve the Cauchy problem, for a general class of second order degenerate parabolic differential operators of Kolmogorov type with variable coefficients, using a posteriori error estimates and an algorithm for adaptive weak approximation of stochastic differential equations. Furthermore, we show how to apply these results in the context of mathematical finance and option pricing. The approach outlined in this paper circumvents many of the problems confronted by any deterministic approach based on, for example, a finite-difference discretization of the partial differential equation in itself. These problems are caused by the fact that the natural setting for degenerate parabolic differential operators of Kolmogorov type is that of a Lie group much more involved than the standard Euclidean Lie group of translations, the latter being relevant in the case of uniformly elliptic parabolic operators.  相似文献

This article links the hyperfinite theory of stochastic integration with respect to certain hyperfinite Lévy processes with the elementary theory of pathwise stochastic integration with respect to pure-jump Lévy processes with finite-variation jump part. Since the hyperfinite Itô integral is also defined pathwise, these results show that hyperfinite stochastic integration provides a pathwise definition of the stochastic integral with respect to Lévy jump-diffusions with finite-variation jump part.As an application, we provide a short and direct nonstandard proof of the generalized Itô formula for stochastic differentials of smooth functions of Lévy jump-diffusions whose jumps are bounded from below in norm.  相似文献

Consider an insurer who is allowed to make risk-free and risky investments. The price process of the investment portfolio is described as a geometric Lévy process. We study the tail probability of the stochastic present value of future aggregate claims. When the claim-size distribution is of Pareto type, we obtain a simple asymptotic formula which holds uniformly for all time horizons. The same asymptotic formula holds for the finite-time and infinite-time ruin probabilities. Restricting our attention to the so-called constant investment strategy, we show how the insurer adjusts his investment portfolio to maximize the expected terminal wealth subject to a constraint on the ruin probability.  相似文献

We develop a notion of nonlinear expectation–GG-expectation–generated by a nonlinear heat equation with infinitesimal generator GG. We first study multi-dimensional GG-normal distributions. With this nonlinear distribution we can introduce our GG-expectation under which the canonical process is a multi-dimensional GG-Brownian motion. We then establish the related stochastic calculus, especially stochastic integrals of Itô’s type with respect to our GG-Brownian motion, and derive the related Itô’s formula. We have also obtained the existence and uniqueness of stochastic differential equations under our GG-expectation.  相似文献

Numerous researchers have applied the martingale approach for models driven by Lévy processes to study optimal investment problems. The aim of this paper is to apply the martingale approach to obtain a closed form solution for the optimal investment, consumption and insurance strategies of an individual in the presence of an insurable risk when the insurable risk and risky asset returns are described by Lévy processes and the utility is a constant absolute risk aversion (CARA). The model developed in this paper can potentially be applied to absorb large insurable losses in the absence of insurance protection and to examine the level of diminishing current utility and consumption.  相似文献

In this paper we investigate the well-known Gerber-Shiu expected discounted penalty function in the case of dependence between the inter-claim times and the claim amounts. We set up an integral equation for it and we prove the existence and uniqueness of its solution in the set of bounded functions. We show that if δ>0, the limit property of the solution is not a regularity condition, but the characteristic of the solution even in the case when the net profit condition is not fulfilled. It is the consequence of the choice of the penalty function for a given density function. We present an example when the Gerber-Shiu function is not bounded, consequently, it does not tend to zero. Using an operator technique we also prove exponential boundedness.  相似文献

An internal lifting for an arbitrary measurable Lévy process is constructed. This lifting reflects our intuitive notion of a process which is the infinitesimal sum of its infinitesimal increments, those in turn being independent from and closely related to each other - for short, the process can be regarded as some kind of random walk (where the step size generically will vary). The proof uses the existence of càdlàg modifications of Lévy processes and certain features of hyperfinite adapted probability spaces, commonly known as the “model theory of stochastic processes”.  相似文献

We give a new characterization for the convergence in distribution to a standard normal law of a sequence of multiple stochastic integrals of a fixed order with variance one, in terms of the Malliavin derivatives of the sequence. We also give a new proof of the main theorem in [D. Nualart, G. Peccati, Central limit theorems for sequences of multiple stochastic integrals, Ann. Probab. 33 (2005) 177–193] using techniques of Malliavin calculus. Finally, we extend our result to the multidimensional case and prove a weak convergence result for a sequence of square integrable random vectors, giving an application.  相似文献

We provide a general construction of time-consistent sublinear expectations on the space of continuous paths. It yields the existence of the conditional GG-expectation of a Borel-measurable (rather than quasi-continuous) random variable, a generalization of the random GG-expectation, and an optional sampling theorem that holds without exceptional set. Our results also shed light on the inherent limitations to constructing sublinear expectations through aggregation.  相似文献

Summary The quantum stochastic calculus initiated by Hudson and Parthasarathy, and the non-causal stochastic calculus originating with the papers of Hitsuda and Skorohod, are two potent extensions of the Itô calculus, currently enjoying intensive development. The former provides a quantum probabilistic extension of Schrödinger's equation, enabling the construction of a Markov process for a quantum dynamical semigroup. The latter allows the treatment of stochastic differential equations which involve terms which anticipate the future. In this paper the close relationship between these theories is displayed, and a noncausal quantum stochastic calculus, already in demand from physics, is described.  相似文献

Sample path Large Deviation Principles (LDP) of the Freidlin–Wentzell type are derived for a class of diffusions, which govern the price dynamics in common stochastic volatility models from Mathematical Finance. LDP are obtained by relaxing the non-degeneracy requirement on the diffusion matrix in the standard theory of Freidlin and Wentzell. As an application, a sample path LDP is proved for the price process in the Heston stochastic volatility model.  相似文献

This paper considers the optimal control problem of the insurance company with proportional reinsurance policy under solvency constraints. The management of the company controls the reinsurance rate and dividends payout processes to maximize the expected present value of the dividend until the time of bankruptcy. This is a mixed singular-regular control problem. However, the optimal dividend payout barrier may be too low to be acceptable. The company may be prohibited to pay dividend according to external reasons because this low dividend payout barrier will result in bankruptcy soon. Therefore, some constraints on the insurance company’s dividend policy will be imposed. One reasonable and normal constraint is that if b is the minimum dividend barrier, then the bankrupt probability should not be larger than some predetermined ε within the time horizon T. This paper is to work out the optimal control policy of the insurance company under the solvency constraints.  相似文献

We develop a stochastic calculus on the plane with respect to the local times of a large class of Lévy processes. We can then extend to these Lévy processes an Itô formula that was established previously for Brownian motion. Our method provides also a multidimensional version of the formula. We show that this formula generates many “Itô formulas” that fit various problems. In the special case of a linear Brownian motion, we recover a recently established Itô formula that involves local times on curves. This formula is already used in financial mathematics.  相似文献

We consider a stochastic model for the wealth of an insurance company which has the possibility to invest into a risky and a riskless asset under a constant mix strategy. The total claim amount is modeled by a compound Poisson process and the price of the risky asset follows a general exponential Lévy process. We investigate the resulting reserve process and the corresponding discounted net loss process. This opens up a way to measure the risk of a negative outcome of the reserve process in a stationary way. We provide an approximation of the optimal investment strategy which maximizes the expected wealth of the insurance company under a risk constraint on the Value-at-Risk. We conclude with some examples.  相似文献

Using infinitesimals, we develop Malliavin calculus on spaces which result from the classical Wiener space by replacing with any abstract Wiener space .We start from a Brownian motion b on a Loeb probability space Ω with values in the Banach space is the standard part of a ∗finite-dimensional Brownian motion B. Then we define iterated Itô integrals as standard parts of internal iterated Itô integrals. The integrator of the internal integrals is B and the values of the integrands are multilinear forms on , where is a ∗finite-dimensional linear space over between the Hilbert space and its ∗-extension .In the first part we prove a chaos decomposition theorem for L2-functionals on Ω that are measurable with respect to the σ-algebra generated by b. This result yields a chaos decomposition of L2-functionals with respect to the Wiener measure on the standard space of -valued continuous functions on [0,1]. In the second part we define the Malliavin derivative and the Skorohod integral as standard parts of internal operators defined on ∗finite-dimensional spaces. In an application we use the transformation rule for finite-dimensional Euclidean spaces to study time anticipating and non-anticipating shifts of Brownian motion by Bochner integrals (Girsanov transformations).  相似文献
