Lithium Calcium borate (LiCaBO3) polycrystalline thermoluminescence (TL) phosphor doped with rare earth (RE3+) elements has been synthesized by high temperature solid state diffusion reaction. The reaction has produced a very stable crystalline LiCaBO3:RE3+ phosphors. Among these RE3+ doped phosphors thulium doped material showed maximum TL sensitivity with favorable glow curve shape. TL glow curve of gamma irradiated LiCaBO3:Tm3+ samples had shown two major well-separated glow peaks at 230 and 430 °C. The glow peak at 430 °C is almost thrice the intensity of the glow peak at 230 °C. The TL sensitivity of the phosphor to gamma radiation was about eight times that of TLD-100 (LiF). Photoluminescence and TL emission spectra showed the characteristic Tm3+ peaks. TL response to gamma radiation dose was linear up to 103 Gy. Post-irradiation TL fading on storage in room temperature and elevated temperatures was studied in LiCaBO3:Tm3+ phosphor.  相似文献

The thermoluminescence properties of white (WJ) and green (GJ) mineral jadeite have been investigated with a view to be of use in high dose dosimetry. WJ presented glow curve with 110, 190 and 235 °C peaks. All these peaks grow with radiation dose. The glow curve of GJ the green variety has TL peaks at 140, 210, 250 and 330 °C. We also observed that there is a difference between the TL glow curves for both samples, irradiated with gamma and electron. As expected the green jadeite can be used for measurement of dose as high as 50 kGy.  相似文献

A non-contact and simple interferometric technique has been used to measure the refractive index variation of gamma irradiated CR-39 polymer samples. Six samples of thickness (750 μm) and dimensions of 1.5 × 3 cm2, have been irradiated with gamma radiation doses in the range from zero to 600 kGy. It is observed that the refractive index increases by increasing the dose and reaches its maximum value at 40 kGy dose, and then starts to decrease again. This means that the gamma radiation deformation in the CR-39 polymer is a chain scission effect. This interferometric technique could make a contribution to recombination and degradation mechanisms on CR-39 polymer.  相似文献

This paper presents the main thermoluminescence (TL) dosimetric characteristics of commercial Turkish transparent window glass. The structure of the glow curves, including the number of peaks, was found to be dose-dependent. A low-temperature glow peak that at 160 °C shifts to higher temperatures was also observed with increasing storage time at room temperature. This result suggests that this TL glow peak is actually made up of two or more overlapping peaks. These we have attributed to the glow peaks at lower temperatures, which decay faster than the ones at higher temperatures with storage time. The thermal fading of the window glass sample at room temperature showed a relatively sharp decay of about 60% occurring over a period of 28 days, after which the decay rate is small for a measured period of 250 days. In order to the improve the post-irradiation stability of the glow curve, the glass samples were heated after irradiation. To remove the unstable TL peaks responsible for the initial rapid fading, post-irradiation heating at 160 °C for 10 min was found to be the most suitable procedure. The dosimetric characteristics of the post-irradiation heated window glass examined in this study include fading, gamma photon dose-response, reproducibility, batch sensitivity, humidity influence, a dose-rate effect and photon energy response. Dose-response was found to be appropriate for dosimetry in the range 5 Gy to 10 kGy. The post-irradiation heating procedure did not affect the main dosimetric characteristics of the window glass samples. The results in this work suggest that the materials could, by using the TL technique, be a suitable candidate for alternative dose measurements in radiation processing, provided that a judicious choice of the post-irradiation heat temperature is made to minimize fading.  相似文献

The thermoluminescence (TL) characteristics of natural zircons from Vietnam were studied for potential application to TL dating. All the glow curves of samples irradiated by gamma radiation or UV light showed a complex structure that consisted of a low temperature part (LTP) and a high temperature part (HTP). The TL emission spectra and monochromatic glow curves indicate that the two main impurities governing the TL emission are Dy3+ (LTP) and Tb3+ (HTP). The anomalous fading of the TL signal was assigned to the emission associated with Dy3+ whereas the 545 nm emission associated with Tb3+, exhibits significantly lower fading and consequently more suitable for TL dating.  相似文献

The lyoluminescence (LL) properties of gamma irradiated KBr:Ce phosphor are reported in this paper. The samples were prepared by wet chemical route. The prepared material was characterized by lyoluminescence technique. LL in KBr:Ce have been recorded for different gamma doses. The nature of variation of peak LL intensity is found to be sublinear with gamma irradiation dose, and the peak LL intensity is found to be dependent on concentrations of added Ce in the samples. Negligible fading in the prepared KBr:Ce (0.5 mol%) sample is observed.  相似文献

The TL glow curve of X-ray irradiated pure and Cu-doped Li2B4O7 shows that the most intense TL peak is at 160°C. In the present work the characteristics of the TL and PTTL glow curves from gamma irradiated pure Li2B4O7 single crystal samples (prepared by Mitui Kinzoku Kougyo, Japan) have been studied. The samples were irradiated with different gamma doses (from 0.5 up to 500 Gy) using a 60Co gamma ray source at a dose rate of 78 Gy h−1. The TL glow curve shows three intense peaks (at 160°C, 260 and 305°C) and three weak ones (at 110, 140 and 220°C). The most intense TL peak is at 160°C, which agrees with the TL glow curve from X-ray irradiated samples [Kutomi Y. and Tomita A. (1990) TSEE and TL of Li2B4O7:Cu single crystals. Radiat. Prot. Dosim. 33, 347–350]. The 305°C peak in gamma irradiated samples also appears to be very intense, which indicates its possible use in high-dose high-temperature dosimetry. Further, the characteristics of the PTTL glow curve have been studied as a function of ultraviolet exposure and number of repeated PTTL cycles.  相似文献

X-Ray diffraction measurements demonstrate that the organic charge-transfer salt formed from the donor(D) DBTTF and the acceptor(A) TCNQ exists as a mixed stack(…DADA…) crystalline array. From the donor and acceptor geometries and solid state infrared spectrum, an unusual charge transfer(for a …DADA… motif) of 0.47e is derived. The Madelung contribution, ?2.9 eV/DA pair, has been evaluated and found to be deficient relative to the cost of ionization of the components.  相似文献

The present work aims to test the effect of gamma radiation on the rate of eruption of rat incisors. One hundred and five adult male albino rats were used and irradiated at different gamma doses. The effects of irradiation were investigated by numerical measurements of eruption rate, histological investigation using light microscope and spectral analysis using Fourier Transform Infra-Red (FTIR). No detectable changes were observed in the groups with smaller radiation doses. There was a significant decrease in the eruption rate starting from the 4?Gy radiation dose. The observation of histological sections revealed disturbance in cellular elements responsible for eruption as well as periodontal disturbance in the samples irradiated with 4 and 6?Gy. FTIR Spectroscopy of control group and the group irradiated by 0.5?Gy showed similar absorption bands with minor differences. However, samples irradiated by 1?Gy showed significant changes in both molecular structure and conformation related to carbonates and hydroxyl groups. From the previous results, it could be concluded that gamma irradiation negatively affects the eruption rate of the rat incisors especially with higher doses.  相似文献

A new FRET-based method for the ratiometric detection of DNA oligomers on a surface using TIRF detection mode is reported. The dual-labeled system consisting of two hybridized oligomers, Cy3oligoY:Cy5oligoX was immobilized on the surface, and the total internal reflection fluorescence (TIRF) was used to detect emission signals from the surface. Two signals, green and red, which originated from the green donor Cy3 and the red acceptor Cy5, have been simultaneously detected. When the target single-stranded complimentary oligomer was present in the solution, this oligomer replaced the Cy3oligoY in the donor:acceptor complex on the surface and the ratio of red-to-green signal was dramatically changed. This detection scheme is generally applicable to the detection of DNA or RNA on a surface.  相似文献

It is the found that the 3 μ thin film polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) doped with Hg dithizonate can be used for dosimetry in a range of adsorbed dose from about 1 … 4 Mrad from which the decrease of optical density of the main absorption band at 485 … 490 nm decreases exponentially by increasing absorbed dose. Radiation hardened CC4007RH and non-radiation hardened CC4011 devices were irradiated using 80Co gamma rays, 1 MeV electrons and 1--9 MeV protons to compare the ionizing radiation damage of the gamma rays with the charged particles. For all devices examined, with experimental uncertainty, the radiation induced threshold voltage shifts (△Vth) generated by 60Co gamma rays are equal to that of 1 MeV electron and 1-7 MeV proton radiation under 0 gate bias condition. Under 5 V gate bias condition, the distinction of threshold voltage shifts (△Vth) generated by 60Co gamma rays and 1 MeV electrons irradiation are not large, and the radiation damage for protons below 9 MeV is always less than that of 60Co gamma rays. The lower energy the proton has, the less serious the radiation damage becomes.  相似文献

Samples from polycarbonate (PC) were classified into two main groups. The first group was blended with Abietic acid (Rosin) with different compositions, while the second group was blended with ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA) copolymer with almost the same composition. A comparative study of the effect of both Rosin and EVA concentration on the thermal stability of PC has been investigated using thermogravimetric analysis. The results show that blending with Rosin causes the dominance of degradation. Samples from PC with 20% Rosin blend were irradiated with gamma at the dose of range 20–300?kGy. The resultant effect of gamma radiation on the structural properties of the 20% Rosin/ 80%PC blend has been investigated using Fourier Transform Infrared FTIR spectroscopy. The results indicate that degradation of the polymer blend dominates, thus increases the creation of hot free radicals that leads to the formation of color centers in PC. In addition, the transmission of the 20% Rosin/80%PC samples as well as color changes was studied. The color intensity ΔE was greatly increased with increasing the gamma dose up to 300?kGy, accompanied by a significant increase in the blue color component.  相似文献

The aim of this paper is to examine the reliability of erasable programmable read only memory (EPROM) and electrically erasable programmable read only memory (EEPROM) components subjected to the influence of gamma radiation. This problem is of considerable significance for both military industry and space technology. We present total dose results for the NM27C512 8F85 EPROM and M24128 – B W BN 5 T P EEPROM components. There is evidence that EPROM components radioactive reliability is better than that of EEPROM components. Furthermore, the changes EPROM's undergoes are reversible, so that after erasing process and reprogramming all EPROM components are fully functional. On the other hand, EEPROM's changes are irreversible and when subjected to the influence of gamma radiation, all EEPROM components become permanently nonfunctional. The obtained results are analyzed and explained via the interaction of gamma radiation with oxide layers.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

The present phosphor K2Ca(SO4)2, doped by dysprosium and europium, is synthesized by the solid-state diffusion method. The doping concentration varied from 0.1 to 0.5?mol% by weight. A phosphor is studied for X-ray powder diffraction, surface morphology analytical scanning electron microscopy and analyzed by energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy. The prepared phosphor K2Ca(SO4)2, doped by Dy and Eu, has been characterized for thermoluminescence (TL) glow curve, showing maximum peak temperatures at 176°C and at 200°C, respectively. TL peak intensity of K2Ca(SO4)2: Dy and Eu was compared with the standard TLD CaSO4:Dy phosphor. Both phosphors show the dose linearity ranging from 20 to 240?Gy doses of γ-rays of 60Co source at room temperature. Negligible fading has been observed when irradiated with γ-rays and stored for 60 days without taking any care from sunlight. The TL materials were used in powder forms. The linearity of ESR response with dose for powder forms of K2Ca(SO4)2: Dy was also studied using the signals at g?=?2:0039 (SO3?) and at g?=?2:02282 (SO4?). It was observed that the range of linearity of dose response extended between 20 and 240?Gy. Kinetic parameters have been calculated using three different methods: Chen's peak shape method, various heating rate method and initial rise method. To study the heating rate method, the glow curve was recorded for the heating rate as 1°C, 3°C, 5°C, 7°C, 9°C each time. Electron spin resonance (ESR) shows the ionic radical formation during γ-irradiation, which is responsible for TL. The effect of temperature and microwave power on the ESR signal was also studied.  相似文献

利用TRIM95蒙特卡罗软件计算了质子在二氧化硅中的质量阻止本领和能量沉积,比较了质子在二氧化硅中的电离阻止本领与核阻止本领,分析了质子在材料的表面吸收剂量与灵敏区实际吸收剂量的关系.利用60Co γ射线、1MeV电子和2—9 MeV质子对CC4007RH和CC4011器件进行辐照实验,比较60Co γ射线和带电粒子的电离辐射损伤情况.实验结果表明,60Co γ射线、1MeV 电子和2—7MeV质子辐照损伤效应中,在0V栅压下可以相互等效; 关键词: γ射线 电子 质子 辐射损伤  相似文献

A new thermoluminescent (TL) dosimeter readout scheme was developed which allows for the measurement of both the single incident dose and the accumulated dose from multiple irradiations, through a novel dual readout procedure. Undoped, Mn doped and Cu doped polycrystalline Li2B4O7 pallets were irradiated by synchrotron X-rays from Indus-2 with different dose. Thermoluminescence glow curves were taken at various heating rates. Two glow peaks were observed in each sample. TL intensities of different samples were compared and it was found that TL counts are more in Cu doped Li2B4O7 sample. TL counts under each peak were calculated and a fixed ratio for two peaks was obtained. A new method of reading out the two peaks separately was formalized, allowing for greater flexibility in the use of TL based personnel dose monitoring devices.  相似文献

基于束流沉积法测量回旋加速器内部束流参数将在束测探头上产生感生放射性污染,从而对加速器调束工作人员带来不必要的辐射危害。采用AGM-6型监测仪对探头感生放射性进行在线测量,通过测量不同半径处探头受辐射后的空气比释动能率,间接反映探头感生放射性的强弱和危害。研究结果表明,在束流调试实验中,应尽量降低馈入高频的占空比;探头测量后冷却2~3 h取出,则不需要考虑测量探头辐照后的残留感生放射性的危害。  相似文献

Charge-transfer interactions of perhydroisoquinoline (PHIQ) with 2,3-dichloro-5,6-dicyano-1,4- benzoquinone (DDQ), p-chloranil (CHL), and 7,7′,8,8′-tetracyanoquinodimethane (TCNQ) in chloroform as a solvent have resulted in stable complexes with a general formula [(PHIQ)(acceptor)] with a molar ratio of 1:1 (donor:acceptor). Elemental (C, H, N) and thermogravimetric (TGA/DTG) analyses, photometric titration, and electronic, infrared, and 1H NMR spectra were used to give an idea of the charge-transfer interaction between donating and accepting sites. The Benesi–Hildebrand method and its modification were used to determine an association constant (K) and a molar extinction coefficient (ε).  相似文献
