The K-capture probability (P K) in the decay of139Ce (137.5d) has been determined from the analysis of the K x-ray gamma ray sum-peak observed with a Ge (Li) x-ray detector. Furthermore,P K is estimated independently from the measurement of the K x-ray intensity in the decay, using the known conversion coefficients of the 165.8 keV transition. Using the weighted average ofP K measured as above, the mass difference between139Ce and139La is found to be 273 ?13 +21 keV.  相似文献

The level structure of theN=80,140Nd has been investigated through the beta decay of140m Pm and140g Pm, whose decay half-lives were measured to be 5.95±0.05 min and 9.1±0.5 sec, respectively. Decay schemes for the two isomers have been constructed fromγ-ray measurements. With the help of the beta decayft values and internal conversion electron measurements, spins and parities were deduced for levels in140Nd. Among the levels a 7? state at 2222.0 keV and a 5? state at 2273.3 keV are identified as two-neutron quasiparticle states. The (ie233-01) for140m Pm and140g Pm have been deduced as 7? and 1+, respectively. From beta end-point measurements, the decay energies of the two isomers have been determined asQ EC=6.48±0.07 MeV140m (Pm) andQ EC=6.08±0.10 MeV (140gPm). The results are discussed in the light of nuclear systematics of theN=79 and 80 isotones.  相似文献

Levels up to 2.3 MeV in 156Gd have been studied using the (n, γ) reaction. Energies and intensities of low-energy γ-rays and electrons emitted after thermal neutron capture have been measured with a curved-crystal spectrometer, Ge(Li) detectors and a magnetic electron spectrometer. High-energy (primary) γ-rays and electrons have been measured with Ge(Li) detectors and a magnetic spectrometer. The high-energy γ-ray spectrum has also been measured in thermal neutron capture in 2 keV resonance neutron capture. The neutron separation energy in 156Gd was measured as Sn = 8535.8 ± 0.5 keV.About 600 transitions were observed of which ~50% could be placed in a level scheme containing more than 50 levels up to 2.3 MeV excitation energy. 42 of these levels were grouped into 15 excited bands. In addition to the β-band at 1050 keV we observe 0+ bands at 1168, 1715 and 1851 keV. Other positive-parity bands are: 1+ bands at 1966, 2027 and 2187 keV; 2+ bands at 1154 (γ-band) and 1828 keV; and 4+ bands at 1511 and 1861 keV. Negative-parity bands are observed at 1243 keV (1?), 1366 keV (0?), 1780 keV (2?) and 2045 keV (4?). Reduced E2 and E0 transition probabilities have been derived for many transitions. The ground band, the β- and γ-bands and the 0+ band at 1168 keV have been included in a phenomenological four-band mixing calculation, which reproduces well the experimental energies and E2 transition probabilities.The lowest three negative-parity (octupole) bands of which the 0? and the 1? bands are very strongly mixed, were included in a Coriolis-coupling analysis, which reproduces well the observed energies. The E1 transition probabilities to the ground band are also well reproduced, while those from the higher-lying 0+ bands to the octupole bands are not reproduced. Absolute and relative transition probabilities have been compared with predictions of the IBA model and the pairingplus-quadrupole model. Both models reproduce well the E2 transitions from the γ-band, while strong disagreements are found for the E2 transitions from the β-band. The IBA model predicts part of the decay features of the higher lying 2+2, 4+1 and 2?1 bands.  相似文献

A precision study of the decay of134Cs g and134Cs m has been made, using ordinary Ge(Li) spectrometers and ā Compton-suppression spectrometer. The logft value of the second forbidden nonuniqueβ-decay to134Xe has been measured to be 13.0±0.2. TheM4γ-ray transition in134Csm(8?) decay has been measured to haveα K= 73±7 and a hindrance of 7.0 over the Moskowski estimate. This is discussed in terms of the level configurations and the analogous transition in133Xe. A new intensity limit of 2×10?6 has been set for the zero-phonon transition between the 4+ and 2+ members of the two-phonon triplet. This leads to an upper limit forB(E2)4→2′, greater than 905. This and the more preciseγ-ray intensity values are discussed in relation to presently available nuclear models.  相似文献

The decay of 140La to levels in 140Ce has been studied in detail using a GMX-Ge and Hp-Ge coincidence spectrometer. Singles gamma-ray spectra as well as gamma-gamma coincidence were carried out to determine some γ-transitions and to insure others. Energies and relative intensities of 36 γ-transitions in the range from 26 to 3319 keV have been measured. The doubted γ-lines 936.7, 1087.9, 1303.5, 1404.2, 1415.3 and 2533.4 keV were confirmed, while other ones at 798.3, 902.0, 907.0, 1521.8 and 2494.0 keV were not observed. The two γ-lines at 1924 and 2082 keV which were a source of large discrepancies in the previous studies are confirmed in the present work to be sum peaks. Special care was paid in identifying the weak γ-transitions 936.7, 1087.9, 1415.3 and 2533.4 keV.

Es wurde der Zerfall von 140La in Energienivcaus des l40Ce unter Verwendung eines GMX-Ge und Hp-Ge-Koinzidenzspeklrometers untersucht. Es werden einzclne Gammaspektren r und Gamma-Gamma-Koinzidenzen aufgenommen, um einige Gamma-Übergänge zu bestimmen und andere abzusichern. Die Energien und die relativen Intcnsitäten von 36 Gamma-Übergangen im Bereich von 26 … 3319 keV wurden vermessen. Die unsicheren Gamma-Linien 936,7, 1087,9, 1303,5, 1404,2, 1415,3 und 2533,4 keV wurden bestätigt, während die Linien 798,3, 902,0, 907,0, 1521,8 und 2494,0 keV nicht beobachtet werden konnten. Die zwei Gamma-Linien bei 1924 und 2082 keV, die eine Quclle groβer Unstimmigkeiten in früheren Untersuchungen gewesen sind, konnten als Summenpeaks bestätigt werden. Besondere Beachtung wurde der Zuordnung der schwachen Gamma-Übergange bei 936,7, 1087,9, 1415,3 und 2533,4 keV geschenkt.  相似文献

Measurements of theβ-ray half-life,γ-ray and X-ray spectra andγ-ray half-lives have been done with a plastic scintillation detector, a high resolution Ge(HP) detector and a 142 cm3 Ge(Li) detector to search for an isomeric state in94Rb. Mass-separated activities of94Rb were obtained from the He-jet type on-line mass-separator at the Kyoto University reactor. No isomeric transition was found in theγ-ray and X-ray measurements with the upper limits of 3×10?4 and 8×10?5, respectively, as compared with the 836.9 keV transition. Half-lives obtained from theγ-ray decay measurements are discussed in the light of classification given byQ β -value measurements.  相似文献

Fe61(T 1/2=5.95 min) was produced irradiating Ni64 and natural nickelfoils with fast neutrons in the reaction Ni64(n, α)Fe61; Fe was chemical seperated. The gamma and beta spectrum were investigated with Ge(Li)-counters, NaJ(Tl) and plastic scintillation spectrometers. Fe61 emits five gamma rays having the energies and intensities per Fe61 decay: 121 keV (0.064), 177 keV (0.027), 298 keV (0.293), 1025 keV (0.461), 1202 keV (0.539). Threeγγ-cascades could be identified: 121–177 keV, 121–1202 keV, 298–1025 keV. Inγ β-coincidence measurements the maximal beta energy was determined:E βmax=2.86 MeV. A decay sceme Fe61-Co61 was constructed: Fe61, spin and parityJ π=3/2?, decays by means of allowed beta decay to three excited states of Co61: 1323 keV (1/2?), 1202 keV (3/2?), 1025 keV (5/2?). The energies and intensities per Fe61 decay of the three beta decay modes are: 2.56 MeV (0.367), 2.68 MeV (0.495), 2.86 MeV (0.138). — A 88 keV gamma ray (T1/2=33 sec) was observed coming from the Co63 decay.  相似文献

Radioactive decay of 88Y has been reinvestigated using coaxial Ge(Li) detectors. Energies and intensities of six γ-rays were measured. A new γ-ray of 850.6 keV was found showing that the 3584.7 keV level in 88Sr is fed in this decay. The logft value for this level is consistent with a Jπ = 4?, 5? assignment. The decay of166Yb has been investigated with high-resolution Ge(Li) detectors. The intensity of any γ ray other than that at 82.29 keV is less than 0.3% per decay. The total decay energy was redetermined asQ=215 ?18 +33 keV. An upper limitF w< 150 was determined for the hindrance factor of theF-forbidden 82.29 keV transition.  相似文献

The decay of65Ge     
Energies and relative intensities of γ-rays from the decay of65Ge have been measured. The half-life was measured to be (31.2±0.7) sec. From the measured intensity of the annihilition radiation the intensity of the groundstate ß+ feeding was determined to be <10%. A total of 31 γ transitions was placed in a level scheme. The spin and parity of the groundstate of65Ge was determined to be 3/2? (5/2?).  相似文献

The KLL Auger spectrum of 73Ge from the electron capture decay of 73As was measured with 7 eV instrumental resolution using a combined electrostatic spectrometer and a source prepared by a gas-chemical method. The energies and relative intensities of all the nine resolved KLL lines were precisely determined. A rather poor agreement was found between the measured KLL transition energies and predictions of the widely used semiempirical calculations. Our relative KLL transition intensities agree only with results of the relativistic calculations in intermediate coupling with configuration interaction. The predicted influence of the relativistic effects on the KL1L2(3P0) transition rate was also proven.  相似文献

The relative intensities of x rays and gammas emitted in the beta decay of194Os are measured. No evidence for the feeding of a level at 83 keV in194Ir is found. An upper limit of 1.7×10?4 was set for theK shell internal ionization probability in the beta decay to the ground state of194Ir. TheL-conversion coefficient of 43 keV transition is found to be 12.1 and the transition is mainly ofM1 type with an admixture of 1.3%E2 type. TheL 1 subshell yields atZ=77 are determined to beω 1=0.16±0.04,f 12=0.11±0.04 andf 13=0.37±0.03.  相似文献

Changes of the radioactive decay rate of71Ge (T 1/2=11.43 days) have been studied experimentally for71Ge in some compounds of bivalent and quadrivalent germanium. Relative changes Δλ/λ of the electron capture probability have been measured, and the chemical changes Δρ(0) of the electron density at the germanium nuclei have been determined from these measurements. Values for the Mössbauer isomer shift calibration constants for the 67 keV γ-transition of73Ge have been estimated:C=δ/Δρ(0)=(0.061±0.020) mm·s?1/a.u., Δ〈r 2〉=(21±7)·10?3 fm2, ΔR/R=(6.9±2.3)·10?4.  相似文献

An activity of158Eu was produced by an (n, p) reaction in an enriched gadolinium target by means of 14 MeV neutrons obtained from a SAMES generator. The gamma radiation accompanying the beta decay of158Eu into158Gd was detected by means of a Ge(Li) spectrometer. A 24-level decay scheme was devised and the transition probabilities were analyzed in terms of adiabatic theory and in terms of the theories including band mixing effects. The values of beta radiation intensities obtained from the experiment were compared with theoretical predictions calculated on the basis of the Nilsson model.  相似文献

The decay of140Pr was investigated by means of a Ge(Li) spectrometer. Excited states of140Ce at 1,596.2, 1,903.1, 2,348.9, 2,522.5, 3,016.8 and 3,119.6 keV are fed in the beta decay of140Pr. Spin and parity assignments for all observed levels have been made from electron capture and positon disintegration considerations and gamma branches. The decay of171 Lu(t1/2=8.2 day) to the levels of171Yb has been studied using large volume high resolution Ge(Li), x-ray Ge(Li) and NaI(Tl) detectors.γ-γ coincidence and directional correlation experiments have been performed. Spin-parity of 5/2?, 7/2+, 5/2?, 9/2+, 7/2?, 7/2?, 11/2+, 9/2?, 9/2? and 5/2? have been assigned to the 75.87, 95.26, 122.37, 167.62, 208.00, 230.61, 259.02, 835.21, 948.37 and 1024.87 keV levels respectively. Several new coincidence relations have been observed in the present work. Two newγ-transitions at 141.45 and 821.30 keV observed and two levels at 766 and 944 keV been proposed. Multipolarity assignments have been made for most of theγ-transitions from theK-shell internal conversion coefficients obtained using the presentγ-ray intensities and the published conversion electron intensities. A revised level scheme for171Yb has been proposed and compared with published data. Radioactivity171Lu; measuredT 1/2,E γ ,I γ ,γγ coin,γγ (θ), I.C.C.,171Yb deduced levels,J, γ-mixing,π. An extended Cu target was centrally irradiated with 22 and 44 GeV carbon ions for about 11 and 15 hours, respectively. The upper side of the target was in contact with a paraffin block for the moderation of secondary neutrons. Small holes in the moderator were filled with lanthanum salts (LaCl37H2O) where the neutrons induced the 139La(n,γ) 140La reaction. The β-decay of 140La(40h) was followed using radiochemical methods. The yields for the formation of 140La agree within large errors with other experiments on extended targets carried out at the LHE, JINR (Dubna). To a first approximation, the breeding rate of 140La doubles when the 12C energy is increased from 22 to 44 GeV. If results at 44 GeV are compared to those at 22 GeV, there cannot be excluded an excess of (20 ± 7)% in the experimentally observed 140La production over theoretical estimates. A definite conclusion in this respect must await further experimental and theoretical work.

These experiments are the beginning of a research program to develop a subcritical reactor with neutron fluxes sufficiently high to permit the TRANSMUTATION of long-lived radioactive waste into short-lived or stable nuclei. Such transmutation would considerably relieve the ecological problems related to the final deposition of radioactive waste.  相似文献

The internal conversion spectrum from the decay of96Tc has been investigated using a 50 cm radius double-focussing beta-ray spectrometer. Relevant features of the internal conversion spectrum from the decay of96Nb have also been reexamined in the same way. Special interest has been focussed on investigating a proposed doublet level structure at about 2.44 MeV and higher lying levels in96Mo. Internal conversion coefficients have been obtained for most transitions by combining the measured conversion electron intensities obtained in this work with recently reported gamma-ray intensities from Ge(Li) detector measurements. A level scheme has been compiled and deduced transition multipolarities have been used for a discussion of spins and parities for the levels.  相似文献

The decay of 24h96Nb has been studied with a Ge(Li) spectrometer and with a Ge(Li)-NaI(Tl) coincidence spectrometer. A total of 27 gamma-ray transitions were observed, their energies and intensities measured. All but one of these have been incorporated into the level scheme of96Mo. The level at 1,625.9 keV reported recently in (n th, γ) work on95Nb has also been observed through the decay of96Nb. No experimental evidence has been found for previously proposed levels at 2,657 and 2,791 keV in96Mo.  相似文献
