Structure of ipomine,a new alkaloid from Ipomoea muricata jacq

Studies on the basic fraction from Ipomoeamuricata Jacq. seeds, grown in Senegal, resulted in the isolation of two hexahydroindolizine alkaloids, the previously described ipalbidine and a new alkaloid, ipomine, C₃₀H₃₅NO₈, the structure of which is established as 1-β-ipalbidinyl-4-p-coumaroyl-d-glucopyranoside.

Macleayine (1),a new natural occurring alkaloid with a unique spiro[furanone-piperidinedione] framework,was isolated from the aerial parts of Macleaya cordata.Its unusual structure was established by extensive spectroscopic analyses,computer-assisted structure elucidation software (ACD/Structure Elucidator),quantum chemistry calculations and ECD calculation.The result of virtual molecular docking predicted the compound can enhance the effects of insulin,and may be used to treat type II diabetes.     

Fuyuziphine, a new alkaloid from Fumaria indica

A new alkaloid, fuyuziphine together with (+/-)-alpha-hydrastine has been isolated from the whole plant of Fumaria indica. The structures of these alkaloids have been established by spectral and chemical evidences.

Selagoline, a new alkaloid from Huperzia selago

A new natural product, named selagoline, and two known alkaloids, huperzine A and serratidine, were isolated from Huperzia selago (Lycopodiaceae) collected in Iceland. Their structures were determined using 600 and 800MHz one- and two-dimensional NMR methods supported by Fourier-transform mass spectrometry. Possible role of selagoline as a precursor of 5,15-oxidolycopodane, a component of the classical alkaloids L28 and L31, is discussed.     

Senecicannabine,a new pyrrolizidine alkaloid from senecio cannabifolius

The structure of senecicannabine($\text{1}$), a new mcrocyclic pyrrolizidine alkaloid isolated from $\text{Senecio cannabifolius}$, has been established by chemical study and X-ray analysis.     

Ligularidine,a new pyrrolizidine alkaloid from Ligularia dentata

The structure of a new macrocyclic pyrrolizidine alkaloid, ligularidine(1), having significantly high mutagenic activity was elucidated and the configurations of the necic acid and its enantiomer reported by Edwards² were also determined.     

Structure elucidation and biomimetic synthesis of hostasinine A, a new benzylphenethylamine alkaloid from Hosta plantaginea

Hostasinine A (1), a benzylphenethylamine alkaloid with an unprecedented skeleton featuring a C-4-C-6 linkage and a nitrone moiety, was isolated from Hosta plantaginea. Its structure was established on the basis of spectroscopic data, and was further confirmed by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The alkaloid was postulated biogenetically from haemanthidine via N-oxidation and aza-aldol-type condensation and was synthesized biomimetically. The inhibitory activities of 1 on acetylcholinesterase (AChE) and two tumor cell lines (K562 and A549) were also evaluated.     

Benzosceptrin C, a new dimeric bromopyrrole alkaloid from sponge Agelas sp.

A new dimeric bromopyrrole alkaloid possessing a benzocyclobutane ring, benzosceptrin C (1), has been isolated from an Okinawan marine sponge of the genus Agelas (SS-956), and the structure and relative stereochemistry were elucidated from spectroscopic data. Benzosceptrin C (1) showed antimicrobial activity.     

Structure and absolute configuration of penicilliumine,a new alkaloid from Penicillium commune 366606

Penicilliumine (1), a new structure was isolated from the fermentation Penicillium commune 366606, a marine-derived fungus isolated from the sea water collected at Qingdao, China. HPLC chiral separation of 1 afforded two enantiomers (−)-penicilliumine and (+)-penicilliumine, respectively. The structure of 1 was established by comprehensive spectroscopic data, and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The absolute configuration of enantiomers was determined by quantum mechanical computation of electronic circular dichroism (ECD).
