The purpose of this investigation is to assess and improve the accuracy of Sauter Mean Diameter measurements in dense sprays using a Planar Droplet Sizing (PDS) technique, based on the intensity ratio of scattered and fluorescence light. A novel data processing method of the PDS technique is suggested, which was derived from a theoretical light scattering investigation, and reduced possible sizing errors larger than 30% to below 10%. The novel approach for droplet sizing was applied to measure in a spray generated by a pressure swirl atomiser in a liquid‐fuelled burner operated with water at isothermal conditions, in order to avoid the effect of liquid evaporation on the accuracy of PDS technique. The Sauter Mean diameter results from the PDS technique were compared to Phase Doppler Anemometer (PDA) sizing measurements. Good agreement was obtained between the two techniques in dense regions of the spray. Discrepancies remained in dilute spray regions due to systematic statistical uncertainties of the PDS technique and the dynamic range of the intensity of the CCD cameras, which did not allow detection of large single droplets in the dilute spray region.  相似文献

An important problem in spray combustion deals with the existence of dense regions of droplets, called clusters. To understand their formation mechanism, the droplet dynamics and fuel concentration profile are investigated by means of planar laser techniques in an industrial gun‐type burner. The simultaneous measurement of elastic Mie scattering and Laser Induced Fluorescence (LIF) allows the instantaneous measurement of the Sauter Mean Diameter (SMD), after proper calibration. Using two different CCDs to get the two signals requires a detailed calibration of the CCD response before getting absolute diameters. Pixels are binned 6 by 6 to obtain the final SMD map, this is a compromise between spatial accuracy and noise. Velocity field is measured on both sets of images using standard Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) algorithms. The comparison of cross‐correlation technique with PDA results shows that the velocity measured on the LIF images are close to the velocity based on D30, whereas the Mie scattering results are similar to D20. On Mie scattering images, regions of high interfacial area forming clusters can be detected. A special tracking scheme is used to characterize their dynamics in terms of velocity and diameters by ensuring that the same volume of fluid is tracked. It is shown that the clusters have a velocity similar to the velocity of droplets with the same diameter as the mean SMD of the cluster. It is also shown that an increase of pressure tends to trigger the appearance of such a group of droplets, due to a smaller diameter of the droplets caused by the increase of pressure discharge. Uncertainties for the different techniques used are discussed.  相似文献

The performance of a narrow-angle and a wide-angle, forward scattering laser aerosol spectrometer has been studied as a function of particle size and refractive index. The results have been compared with theoretical calculations based on light scattering theory. The results indicate that for the narrow-angle instrument, the scattered-light intensity is not a monotonic function of particle size for transparent particles (a monotonic relationship is required for unambiguous particle size measurement) above 0.7 μm. The instrument is therefore limited in its useful range to size distribution measurement between 0.2 μm – its lower particle size limit – and 0.7 μm for transparent particles. In the case of the wide-angle instrument, the instrument output is a monotonic function of particle size for transparent particles, but the output is severely attenuated for light absorbing particles above 0.3 μm. The instrument, therefore, cannot be used for accurate size measurements above 0.3 μm for light absorbing particles.  相似文献

 在分析电炮加载装置放电回路的基础上,探讨了电炮装置的设计原则。根据所提出的设计原则,设计和建立了一门储能14.4 kJ的电炮装置。实验测试结果表明,其性能参数诸如回路电感小于40 nH、放电周期7 μs、飞片平面度小于40 ns、初始电流上升陡度达750 GA/s。与国内外的同类型装置的参数相比较,该电炮装置达到了较高水平,具有较好的性能。在此基础上,提出了获得平面一维应变加载对电炮装置的一般要求。  相似文献

A systematic investigation on the influence of the diffusion parameters (time and temperature) and initial titanium film thickness on the spectral characteristics of the LiNbO3 Raman modes is reported. Raman spectra are measured in the range 50–1000 cm?1 ~2 µm below the surface of the crystals. Broadening of the Raman lines and, therefore, crystal lattice disorder induced by the titanium ions are found to depend on the fabrication parameters. The disorder associated with the titanium ions near the surface of LiNbO3 is encoded in the broadening of the A1(TO1) Raman line. A linear relation between the A1(TO1) mode broadening and the Ti concentration is presented. The diffusion theory is used to explain the experimental data. Raman spectroscopy combined with diffusion theory can be used to estimate the evolution of the titanium surface concentration.  相似文献

A new approach is proposed to analyze planar distributed 2-D LH structures. The 4-port S parameters of the unit cell combined with the Bloch-Floquet theory are used to determine the dispersion relations and Bloch impedance. The LH and RH frequency bands are identified by the signs of the real parts of the wave number and the Bloch impedance. Several advantages of the new approach over the previous unit cell analysis methods are presented. As an example, a capacitance-enhanced LH structure is designed and analyzed with the new approach. FDTD simulation is also performed to study the periodic LH structure with infinite arrays. The results of the simulation at the LH frequency band show the backward wave properties in consistent with those obtained by the proposed approach.  相似文献

液滴在气体中运动蒸发的过程中,两相间会发生相互作用。为了弄清液滴对气相场的影响,基于液滴在气体环境中蒸发过程的现象和机理解释,提出液滴蒸发的影响域的概念,定义了影响域半径,并通过数值计算分析了不同条件下的影响域特性。结果表明,影响域内,由于液滴的存在使得其周围气相场参数变化较为剧烈;其他条件相同时,无量纲影响域半径几乎是一个定值。提出的影响域概念,对于研究气液两相间的相互作用机制具有重要意义。  相似文献

对于傍轴光束,提出了介质平面波导衍射场的近场模场半宽度、远场发散角半宽度和光束传输因子M^2等光束参量之间满足简单的关系式,三个光束参量均可直接由波导模式场分布精确计算,或由可实际精确测量的远场衍射频谱分布精确计算。M^2因子的计算公式可表述为以二阶矩和微分算子定义的近场模场半宽度的比值,或以二阶矩和微分算子定义的远场发散角半宽度的比值。最后推导出介质平面波导TE0模衍射场光束参量的解析函数和光束参量的范围。  相似文献

We introduce a new method to analyze the coexistence region of the constant rate ensemble ZGB discontinuous transition. The method clearly delineates the spinodal and coexistence points in the constant rate ZGB model. Increase in system size reduces the gap between the spinodal and coexistence points. Next we quantify the effect of metastability by introducing a droplet/nucleus of CO occupied sites in the initial system. In systems with initial nucleus of increasing size the distance between the spinodal and the coexistence point decreases, until for a large enough droplet spanning the initial system, the spinodal and the coexistence points become indistinguishable.  相似文献

高光谱卫星数据模拟是卫星遥感数据模拟的重点研究方向,基于星载多光谱数据和地物光谱先验知识是一种快速模拟高光谱数据的方法,但数据模拟精度受传感器光谱指标的限制。文章针对EO-1/ALI的可见光/近红外波长范围进行实验,研究了波段数量、半波宽度和波长位置等光谱指标与植被光谱模拟精度的关系,分析了两者之间的变化规律。研究表明,光谱指标决定了植被光谱特征提取,是影响光谱模拟精度的直接原因。文章总结了适于光谱重构模型的光谱参数范围,实验结果有利于提高植被光谱模拟精度。该结论可用于多光谱传感器的性能评价及其分光滤色结构的改进。  相似文献

The objective of a continuing study by the Belgian Particle Technology Group involves difficulties in practical size determinations. This part describes the behaviour of silicas with different porosities during sizing by electrical sensing zone and laser diffraction methods. Anisotropy and porosity were identified to be important particle characteristics in understanding the differences between the two methods. Especially large pore diameters and pore volumes were found to be responsible for shifts in size distribution of 50 to 100%. The use of optical values and optical models was shown to influence these shifts considerably. In the case of spherical silica particles with moderate porosity, no significant differences could be found between the two sizing methods.  相似文献

Planar channelling of 1, 1.5 and 2 MeV 4He+ ions along (100), (110) and (111) MgO have been studied experimentally using Rutherford backscattering. Values of the half angle ψP12, shoulder half angle ψs12 and surface minimum yield xPmin have been determined for channelling with respect to the two sublattices. Occurrence of gear rattle in transmission systems can result in severe vibration and noise, which in applications such as automobiles is an important source of user discomfort. As a result , the reduction of the rattling noise has attracted lot of concerns. The rattling noise level is affected by several gearbox parameters, an understanding of which is essential to prevent the expensive design modifications at later stages of product development. To develop such understanding at the gearbox design stage, this paper analytically evaluates the gear parameters’ effect on the root mean square of the wheel gear acceleration under idling condition, which is known to be linearly correlated to the rattling noise level. Therefore, this evaluation allows for an investigation of the gear parameters’ influence on the rattling noise as well. This method is then verified by comparing the analytical results with the simulation results from a dynamic model built in SIMPACK as well as previously published experimental results. Thus, the proposed analytical evaluation method can optimize the gearbox specifications at the design stage to reduce the gear rattle noise level.  相似文献

采用放电测量和光学诊断技术对三电极等离子体合成射流激励器放电特性及流场特性进行了实验研究,分析了放电电容、激励器腔体体积和射流出口直径对三电极等离子体合成射流流场分布及速度特性的影响.实验结果表明:三电极等离子体合成射流激励器放电过程包含触发、放电增强、放电衰减和电弧熄灭4个阶段,表现出典型的欠阻尼放电特征;等离子体合成射流流场包含射流主流、"前驱激波"和复杂的反射波系.放电电容、腔体体积和射流出口直径均存在一阈值,当电容和出口直径小于阈值、腔体体积大于阈值时,"前驱激波"以当地声速(约345 m/s)恒速传播,否则"前驱激波"则以大于345 m/s的速度传播,且与射流速度呈现相同的变化趋势,即随着放电电容和出口直径的增加而增大,随着腔体体积的增加而减小.   相似文献

Conventional rockets are not a suitable technology for interstellar missions. Chemical rockets require a very large weight of propellant, travel very slowly compared to light speed, and require significant energy to maintain operation over periods of years. For example, the 722 kg Voyager spacecraft required 13,600 kg of propellant to launch and would take about 80,000 years to reach the nearest star, Proxima Centauri, about 4.3 light years away. There have been various attempts at developing ideas on which one might base a spacecraft that would permit interstellar travel, such as spacewarps. In this paper we consider another suggestion from science fiction and explore how the quantum vacuum might be utilized in the creation of a novel spacecraft. The spacecraft is based on the dynamic Casimir effect, in which electromagnetic radiation is emitted when an uncharged mirror is properly accelerated in vacuum. The radiative reaction produces a dissipative force on the mirror that tends to resist the acceleration of the mirror. This force can be used to accelerate a spacecraft attached to the mirror. We also show that, in principle, one could obtain the power to operate the accelerated mirror in such a spacecraft using energy extracted from the quantum vacuum using the standard Casimir effect with a parallel plate geometry. Unfortunately the method as currently conceived generates a miniscule thrust, and is no more practical than a spacewarp, yet it does provide an interesting demonstration of our current understanding of the physics of the quantized electromagnetic field in vacuum.  相似文献

 采用高速运动分析系统对FAE实验装置爆炸抛撒过程进行观测,描述了燃料抛撒过程的不同阶段,实验研究了比药量、长径比、壳体材质等装置参数对燃料抛撒与爆炸威力的影响。结果表明,燃料抛撒过程可分为射流形成与扩散运动阶段、燃料两向膨胀运动阶段和气液融合运动阶段。不同阶段对应不同的流体动力学特征,对云团形成的贡献不同。在实验装置总体优化条件下,适当增大比药量可提高云团覆盖面积与体积;在实验范围内长径比不是影响云团状态的显著因素,但长径比较大时可使燃料抛撒均匀性更好;采用钢质壳体时云雾抛撒状态明显优于铝质壳体。实验证明,采用碳钢壳体、比药量3%左右、长径比为3~5且装置参数良好匹配时,可获得理想的云团状态和高威力爆炸波毁伤效应。  相似文献
