Electrical and thermal conductivities for low-temperature (2000 K to 20000 K) and high-pressure (0.1 MPa to 2.5 MPa) krypton
plasma with some sodium (1% and 10%) as additive are presented. The plasma is treated as weakly non-ideal and having attained
the local thermodynamical equilibrium states. The problem of the plasma non-ideality according to standard criteria is of
the plasma Debye radius, with an improved cut-off length. Use is made of a previously derived modified Debye radius with the
Landau length instead of the smallest ionic radii which allowed to regard the plasmas investigated as weakly non-ideal. This
alteration in the evaluation of the Debye radius profoundly alters the equilibrium plasma compositions and their transport

Two electron systems confined by harmonic potential is known as harmonium. Such a system has been studied for many reasons in the literature. In this work we study harmonium under Debye potential. We use higher order finite difference method for the solution of Schrodinger equation. Complete energy spectrum of harmonium and harmonium under Debye potential is studied. Debye screening length shows considerable effect on the energy levels and the radial matrix elements. The results are analysed in the light of existing results and the comparison with available results shows remarkable agreement. 相似文献

The effect of the nonuniform charge distribution due to the ion flow on the ion–dust grain bremsstrahlung process is investigated in dusty plasmas. The impact-parameter analysis is applied to the motion of the projectile ion in order to investigate the variation of the bremsstrahlung radiation cross section as a function of the impact parameter, Debye length, Mach number, radiation photon energy, and projectile energy. The result shows that the nonuniform charge distribution effect strongly enhances the bremsstrahlung cross section. It is also found that the bremsstrahlung radiation cross section decreases with increasing the Debye length. 相似文献

In a previous paper [S. Ghosal, Phys. Rev. E 74, 041901 (2006)] a hydrodynamic model for determining the electrophoretic speed of a polyelectrolyte through an axially symmetric slowly varying nanopore was presented in the limit of a vanishingly small Debye length. Here the case of a finite Debye layer thickness is considered while restricting the pore geometry to that of a cylinder of length much larger than the diameter. Further, the possibility of a uniform surface charge on the walls of the nanopore is taken into account. It is thereby shown that the calculated transit times are consistent with recent measurements in silicon nanopores. 相似文献

The scale length for an effective shielding of a charged particle in a plasma is the Debye length, which is for Maxwellian velocity distributions determined by the ratio of the temperature to the density. However, fusion plasmas heated by neutral-beam injection (NBI) exhibit highly non-Maxwellian slowing-down velocity distributions. In this case, the evaluation of the characteristic shielding distance from these velocity distributions requires the solution of Fokker-Planck-Poisson equations. In this paper, the effect of NBI slowing-down velocity distributions on the shielding distance are discussed. Analytic expressions for the Debye length of a neutral-beam-heated plasma are given. Using the Debye shielding model, the effects of plasma shielding on the dielectronic recombination processes of the H-like helium ions are investigated.It is found that plasma shielding causes a remarkable change in the Auger decay rate of the doubly excited 2p~2 ~3P_2 state.As a result,the dielectronic recombination cross sections from the doubly excited 2p~2 ~3p_2 state increases with the decreasing Debye shielding length. 相似文献

The binding and dissolution for the cc and bb bound states are studied by using different quark binding potentials in a nonrelativistic approximation. We calculate the critical value of the screening length by considering the Debye screening effect. The critical value rDc of the Debye screening length is highly sensitive to the form of the quark binding potential. We also estimate the critical temperature Tc of medium. The influence of the form of the quark binding potentials on dissolution for cc and bb bound states is discussed and compared to the previous results. 相似文献

An analytical solution to the problem of a temperature jump in a metal is obtained. The jump is caused by a heat flow to the surface. An exact expression for the heat-induced electric field is derived. Based on the exact expressions, the electric field profiles are plotted for different ratios of the electron free path to the Debye length. It is shown that the field profile near the surface may differ substantially from the Debye profile. 相似文献

This paper deals with the numerical resolution of the Vlasov–Poisson system in a nearly quasineutral regime by Particle-In-Cell (PIC) methods. In this regime, Classical PIC methods are subject to stability constraints on the time and space steps related to the small Debye length and large plasma frequency. Here, we propose an “Asymptotic-Preserving” PIC scheme which is not subjected to these limitations. Additionally, when the plasma period and Debye length are small compared to the time and space steps, this method provides a consistent PIC discretization of the quasineutral Vlasov equation. We perform several one-dimensional numerical experiments which provide a solid validation of the method and its underlying concepts, and compare the method with Classical PIC and Direct-Implicit methods. 相似文献

Inside biological membranes, one of the fundamental functions of active proteins such as pumps is to generate some electrochemical
gradient across the membrane and then, to establish a new stationary state. The membrane electric potential generated by activity
modifies the stiffness constants of the membrane. A spontaneous curvature appears if the inner and outer Debye lengths are
different. The corresponding characteristic radius falls in the range from 0.08μm to 50μm. The bending elastic modulus is
always increased. This effect is only noticeable in the limit of large Debye length from 0.5μm to 0.09μm. For a Nernst potential
of 100mV and a Debye length of 0.2μ m, the bending modulus can reach 40kBT.

For like-charged colloidal particles, two mechanisms of attraction between them survive when the interparticle distance is
larger than the Debye screening length. One of them is the conventional van der Waals attraction and the second is the attraction
mechanism mediated by thermal fluctuations of particle position. The latter is related to the effective variable mass (Euler
mass) of the particles produced by the fluid motion. The strongest attraction potential (up to the value of the temperature
T) corresponds to the case of uncharged particles and a relatively large Debye screening length. In this case, the third attraction

find that the charge variability of the grain reduces the growth rate of radiative mode only for fluctuation wavelength smaller

Properties of potential sheaths developed in plasmas are investigated in terms of the plasma Debye length and the dimension of vacuum space. Biased plasma potential and the potential profile depend very sensitively on the geometrical configuration of plasma and vacuum space. The potential sheath is never developed near electrodes in high-density plasmas where the Debye length is much less than the dimension of the vacuum space. In this case, most of the potential drops occur in the vacuum space and almost no electric field exists inside the plasma. Parametric investigation of the potential sheath in terms of the vacuum-space and plasma dimensions is carried out. 相似文献

Using the Debye screening in QGP, the disbibudon function and the color electric potential of the quarks at high temperature, the radiated power of the rest color electric wave of the quarks in QGP are obtained. The relation between the radiated power of the rest color electric wave of the quarks and the Dedbye length λD is discussed. We study the effect of electrostatic interactions on the distribution function of the end-to-end distance of a single polyelectrolyte
chain in the rod-like limit. The extent to which the radial distribution function of a polyelectrolyte is reproduced by that
of a wormlike chain with an adjusted effective persistence length is investigated. Strong evidence is found for a universal
scaling formula connecting the effective persistence length of a polyelectrolyte with the strength of the electrostatic interaction
and the Debye screening length.
