Summary: Binary symmetric diblock copolymer blends, that is, low‐molecular‐weight poly(styrene‐block‐methyl methacrylate) (PS‐b‐PMMA) and high‐molecular‐weight poly(styrene‐block‐methacrylate) (PS‐b‐PMA), self‐assemble on silicon substrates to form structures with highly ordered nanoholes in thin films. As a result of the chemically similar structure of the PMA and the PMMA block, the PMMA chain penetrates through the large PMA block that absorbs preferentially on the polar silicon substrate. This results in the formation of nanoholes in the PS continuous matrix.
An atomic force microscopy image of the thin film obtained from the blend of low‐molecular‐weight PS‐b‐PMMA and high‐molecular‐weight PS‐b‐PMA. The regular array of nanoholes in the films surface is clearly visible. 相似文献
Summary: Plasma‐initiated controlled/living radical polymerization of methyl methacrylate (MMA) was carried out in the presence of 2‐cyanoprop‐2‐yl 1‐dithionaphthalate. Well‐defined poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA), with a narrow polydispersity, could be synthesized. The polymerization is proposed to occur via a RAFT mechanism. Chain‐extension reactions were also successfully carried out to obtain higher molecular weight PMMA and PMMA‐block‐PSt copolymer.

The triblock copolymer poly(ϵ‐caprolactone)‐block‐poly[(methyl methacrylate)‐co‐styrene]‐block‐poly(ϵ‐caprolactone) was synthesized by a combination of coordination polymerization and controlled radical mechanism. The poly(ϵ‐caprolactone) prepolymers (PCLBP) were first obtained by coordination polymerization using benzopinacol as the initiator and aluminium triisopropoxide as the promoter at room temperature. It was determined by means of UV and NMR spectroscopy that the benzopinacolate groups are left intact in the PCLBP prepolymers; no isomerization was found. The benzopinacolate groups incorporated into the poly(ϵ‐caprolactone) then initiate the copolymerization of styrene (St) and methyl methacrylate (MMA) via a controlled radical mechanism at 95°C. The desired block copolymers were characterized by GPC, IR, UV and NMR spectroscopy in detail. 相似文献
Hydroxy‐telechelic poly(methyl methacrylate)s of molecular weights below 5000 were obtained by atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) of methyl methacrylate followed by end‐capping with allyl alcohol via atom transfer radical addition (ATRA). As initiators for the ATRP, monofunctional initiators with an additional hydroxy group in the molecule or bifunctional initiators were employed. The successful synthesis of the hydroxy‐telechelic PMMA was proved by determination of their molecular weight using MALDI‐TOF‐MS. The efficiency of the end‐capping reaction was determined by 1H NMR spectroscopy using the allyl N‐(4‐tolyl)carbamate as end‐capping agent. Block copolymers comprising a poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO) block and a poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) block were prepared by ATRP using a macroinitiator on the PEO basis. The dormant species of the macroinitiator consists of the phenyl chloroacetate moiety which shows a high rate of initiation. The successful synthesis of the poly(ethylene oxide)‐block‐poly(methyl methacrylate) was proved by 1H NMR spectroscopy; the ratios of EO/MMA repeating units in the feed and the copolymer were nearly equal. 相似文献
A poly(methyl methacrylate)‐block‐poly(acrylic acid)‐block‐poly(2‐vinyl pyridine)‐block‐poly(acrylic acid)‐block‐poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA‐PAA‐P2VP‐PAA‐PMMA), pentablock terpolymer has been synthesized by anionic polymerization with sequential addition of monomers and studied in aqueous media at low pH. The system exhibits combined properties and adopts the behavior of ‘telechelic’ polyelectrolytes and that of double hydrophilic polyampholytes. This complex behavior leads to the pentablock terpolymer forming a pH and temperature sensitive reversible hydrogel at very low polymer concentration.
A series of Zn (II), Pd (II) and Cd (II) complexes, [(L) n MX 2 ] m (L = L‐a–L‐c; M = Zn, Pd; X = Cl; M = Cd; X = Br; n, m = 1 or 2), containing 4‐methoxy‐N‐(pyridin‐2‐ylmethylene) aniline ( L‐a ), 4‐methoxy‐N‐(pyridin‐2‐ylmethyl) aniline ( L‐b ) and 4‐methoxy‐N‐methyl‐N‐(pyridin‐2‐ylmethyl) aniline ( L‐c ) have been synthesized and characterized. The X‐ray crystal structures of Pd (II) complexes [L 1 PdCl 2 ] (L = L‐b and L‐c) revealed distorted square planar geometries obtained via coordinative interaction of the nitrogen atoms of pyridine and amine moieties and two chloro ligands. The geometry around Zn (II) center in [(L‐a)ZnCl 2 ] and [(L‐c)ZnCl 2 ] can be best described as distorted tetrahedral, whereas [(L‐b) 2 ZnCl 2 ] and [(L‐b) 2 CdBr 2 ] achieved 6‐coordinated octahedral geometries around Zn and Cd centers through 2‐equivalent ligands, respectively. In addition, a dimeric [(L‐c)Cd(μ ‐ Br)Br] 2 complex exhibited typical 5‐coordinated trigonal bipyramidal geometry around Cd center. The polymerization of methyl methacrylate in the presence of modified methylaluminoxane was evaluated by all the synthesized complexes at 60°C. Among these complexes, [(L‐b)PdCl 2 ] showed the highest catalytic activity [3.80 × 104 g poly (methyl methacrylate) (PMMA)/mol Pd hr?1], yielding high molecular weight (9.12 × 105 g mol?1) PMMA. Syndio‐enriched PMMA (characterized using 1H‐NMR spectroscopy) of about 0.68 was obtained with Tg in the range 120–128°C. Unlike imine and amine moieties, the introduction of N‐methyl moiety has an adverse effect on the catalytic activity, but the syndiotacticity remained unaffected. 相似文献
Summary: A novel ABC triblock copolymer with a rigid‐rod block was synthesized by atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP). First, a poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO)‐Br macroinitiator was synthesized by esterification of PEO with 2‐bromoisobutyryl bromide, which was subsequently used in the preparation of a poly(ethylene oxide)‐block‐poly(methyl methacrylate) (PEO‐b‐PMMA) diblock copolymer by ATRP. A poly(ethylene oxide)‐block‐poly(methyl methacrylate)‐block‐poly{2,5‐bis[(4‐methoxyphenyl)oxycarbonyl]styrene} (PEO‐b‐PMMA‐b‐PMPCS) triblock copolymer was then synthesized by ATRP using PEO‐b‐PMMA as a macroinitiator.

Polystyrene‐block‐poly(2‐vinyl pyridine)‐block‐poly(methyl methacrylate) ABC triblock copolymers were synthesized by sequential living anionic polymerization. Their solution properties were investigated in toluene, which is a bad solvent for the middle block. Spherical micelles are formed, which consist of a poly(2‐vinyl pyridine) dense core bearing polystyrene and poly(methyl methacrylate) soluble chains at the corona. These micelles exhibit the architecture of heteroarm star copolymers obtained by “living” polymerization methods. The aggregation numbers strongly depend on the length of the insoluble P2VP middle block, thus remarkably affecting the size of the micelles. 相似文献
