Granular C/Co/C films have been prepared by magnetron sputtering from C and Co onto glass substrates at room temperature and subsequent in situ annealing. It has been found that the structure and magnetic properties of the C/Co/C films depend strongly on the Co layer thickness. Vibrating sample magnetometer measurements indicate that the in-plane coercivities reach maximum in 20 nm Co thickness of both as-deposited and annealed films. The squareness ratio of annealed films was more than 0.8. X-ray diffraction shows that majority Co nanograins are formed as the hexagonal-close-packed (HCP) structure in 20 nm Co thickness with annealing at 400 °C. Scanning probe microscope was used to scan surface morphology and magnetic domain structures. The values of the surface roughness were lower than 0.6 nm in all annealed samples. The average magnetic cluster size was estimated to be about 10 nm in annealed 20 nm Co thickness films.  相似文献

The spin wave excitation and its size effect has been studied in Al-capped Fe films grown on low-symmetry GaAs(1 1 3)A substrates. The temperature dependence of saturation magnetization follows an effective Bloch's law as long as magnetization remains larger than about 70% of its saturation value. A significant increase of the spin wave parameter B is found in Al-capped ultrathin Fe films grown on GaAs(1 1 3)A compared to bulk Fe, Fe films on GaAs(0 0 1) and other systems. This is explained as a result of the reduction in uniaxial magnetic anisotropy observed in this orientation for the same thickness range. However, this observed uniaxial magnetic anisotropy is found to be a likely reason for stabilizing the ferromagnetism.  相似文献

FeSiB amorphous thin films with thicknesses from 25 to 600 nm have been produced by rf sputtering on Si3N4 substrates. A spin reorientation transition has been observed on the as-prepared samples, as a function of thickness and temperature. Spin reorientation transition is shown to depend on the thermal treatments to which the as-prepared samples have been submitted. Static hysteresis loops obtained as a function of temperature, and magnetic force microscopy images taken at room temperature at the remanence and as a function of an applied magnetic field, have been employed to study the magnetic domain configuration of all the samples, and to see how it is affected by sample thickness, measurement temperature and annealing conditions.  相似文献

FeNiN thin films with good soft magnetic properties were synthesized on Si (1 0 0) substrates at 473 K by RF magnetron sputtering. The dependence of phase structure and magnetic properties on nitrogen partial pressure, nickel concentrations, film thickness and substrate temperature were systematically investigated. The phase evolution from α-(Fe,Ni)N to ξ-(Fe,Ni)2N with increase of nitrogen partial pressure was seen. The addition of Ni caused FeNiN films to turn from BCC structure to FCC structure. Clear reproducible striped domains appeared at the film surfaces when XNi=19.6%, which is explained by the high enough perpendicular anisotropy and the small stress in the film. All films show smooth surfaces and good soft magnetic properties compared to corresponding FeN compounds. The magnetic properties depended dramatically on the phase structure. Optimum soft magnetic properties with HC of <1 Oe are obtained between 5.0%?XNi?10.0%.  相似文献

The magnetic properties of disordered layered structures grown on surface-reconstructed substrates are studied with respect to percolation and random fields phenomena. Both the layered site-dilution and fluctuating magnetic field are considered in the frame of the Ising model to describe the structural disorder in a deposited layer. The results of effective field calculations superior to the standard molecular field approximation are qualitatively comparable with the experimental data previously obtained for Fe films deposited on GaAs(001) (4×2)-reconstructed surface.  相似文献

Highly textured chromium dioxide (CrO2) films have been deposited on Al2O3 single-crystal substrates by atmospheric pressure chemical vapor deposition method (CVD). X-ray diffraction patterns show that the CrO2 films are (1 0 0)-oriented on Al2O3 (0 0 1) substrates, and are (1 0 1)-oriented on Al2O3 (0 1 2) substrates. Scanning electron microscopy images indicate that the (1 0 0)-oriented CrO2 films grown on Al2O3 (0 0 1) substrates have smoother surface and better qualities than that grown on Al2O3 (0 1 2) substrate. At room temperature, the magnetoresistance of the (1 0 0)- and (1 0 1)-oriented CrO2 films are nearly same, and both show a linear dependence on applied magnetic field. While at 80 K, the (1 0 1)-oriented CrO2 films show a much larger magnetoresistance compared with the (1 0 0)-oriented CrO2 films. The reasons are briefly discussed.  相似文献

The magnetic and magneto-optical properties of FeRh thin films epitaxially deposited onto MgO(1 0 0) substrates by RF sputter-deposition system have been investigated in conjunction with the structure. An intriguing virgin effect has been found in the MT curves of the as-deposited FeRh thin films, which is presumably interpreted in term of a change in structural phase when heating. Also, a (negative) maximum peak of Kerr rotation at around 3.8 eV has been observed when FeRh thin films are in ferromagnetic state. The polar Kerr rotation angle is found to increase at temperatures above 100 °C, which corresponds to the antiferromagnet (AF)–ferromagnet (FM) transition of FeRh thin films.  相似文献

High saturation magnetization soft magnetic FeCo (=Fe65Co35) films were prepared using a thin Co underlayer. The FeCo/Co films exhibited a well-defined in-plane uniaxial anisotropy with easy axis coercivity (Hce) of 10 Oe and hard axis coercivity (Hch) of 3 Oe, and a half reduction of Hc with Hce=4.8 Oe and Hch=1.0 Oe was obtained when the composition was adjusted to 25 at% Co. The effective permeability of the films remains flat around 250 to 800 MHz. The saturation magnetostriction was 5.2×10−5 and the intrinsic stress was 0.8 GPa in FeCo single layer, both were slightly reduced by Co underlayer. The Co underlayer changed the preferred orientation of the FeCo films from (2 0 0) to (1 1 0) but more significantly, reduced the average grain size from ∼74 to ∼8.2 nm. It also reduced the surface roughness from 2.351 to 0.751 nm. The initial stage and interface diffusion properties were examined by TEM and XPS.  相似文献

Structure and magnetic properties of the as-deposited and post-annealed iron nitride films have been investigated systematically. A series of phases containing α-Fe, ?-Fe3N, ξ-Fe2N and γ″-FeN were obtained as nitrogen flow rate (FN2) increases from 0.5 to 30 sccm. An increase of the nitrogen concentration in the as-deposited films could be concluded from the phase transition with the increasing FN2. After being annealed, some of the iron nitride phases are decomposed and γ′-Fe4N appears in the films. The magnetic characteristics are dependent on FN2, which can be ascribed to the facts that the nitrogen in the films turns the valence states of Fe into Fe+ or Fedipole with high magnetic momentum or ever H-like bond Fe+/dipole with low magnetic momentum based on the bond-band-barrier correlation mechanism.  相似文献

To improve the magnetic properties and corrosion resistance of magnet, SiO2 nanopowders were added into Nd28.25Dy2.75FebalAl0.15Ga0.1Nb0.1B0.98-sintered magnets as grain boundary modifiers. It was found that the intrinsic coercivity (Hcj), remanence (Br) and corrosion resistance were all improved with addition of certain amount of SiO2 nanopowders. The optimum addition amount of SiO2 nanopowders was found to be 0.01 wt%. Thermodynamic calculation in combination of energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX) analyses indicated that SiO2 nanopowders reacted with Nd of Nd-rich phase. As a result, the intergranular phase was modified, and the grain growth of main phase was restrained. It led to the optimization of microstructure.  相似文献

We have grown 500 Å MnP on undoped GaAs(1 0 0) substrate using solid-source molecular beam epitaxy. In order to characterize the crystal structure of MnP, we performed in-situ reflection high energy electron diffraction and θ–2θ XRD X-ray diffraction studies. From the measurements of superconducting quantum interference device, Quantum Design, MnP thin film shows ferromagnetic ordering at around 291.5 K. It shows a metallic resistivity in MnP thin film.  相似文献

We describe magneto-optic Kerr effect studies of ultrathin Fe and Ni films on single crystal surfaces of Ag and Cu. Monolayer Fe films on Ag(100) exhibit the theoretically predicted spin-orbit anisotropy, but also yield some interesting discrepancies between behavior predicted by Kerr effect and by spin-polarized photoemission experiments. Layer-dependent studies of the magnetic moment of Ni on Ag(111) and Ag(100) suggest sp-d hybridization effects quench the first layer magnetic moment on Ag(111) but not on Ag(100). Temperature dependent studies of thin film magnetization obtained from Kerr effect measurements yield thickness dependent Curie temperatures, and critical exponents for several thin film systems.  相似文献

Morphology and magnetic properties of Co/Si(1 1 1) interfaces have been investigated using scanning tunneling microscope and surface magneto-optic Kerr effect techniques. As deposited at room temperature for Co/Si(1 1 1), defects have been observed with shapes of dark patches and bright islands on the surface with different Co coverage. The defect formation causes a rough interface. For subsequently deposited Co layers, the interfacial state between Co and the Si substrate results in the appearance of both the longitudinal and polar Kerr loops. After annealing treatments, interdiffusion of Co atoms and Si(1 1 1) substrate occurs as revealed by Auger electron spectroscopy. Scanning tunneling microscope images show the formation of Si clusters with average diameter of 10 nm at high temperatures. The disappearance of ferromagnetism of the films occurs due to the structural and compositional changes.  相似文献

Fe50Co50 thin films with thickness of 30 and 4 nm have been produced by rf sputtering on glass substrates, and their surface has been observed with atomic force microscopy (AFM) and magnetic force microscopy (MFM); MFM images reveal a non-null component of the magnetization perpendicular to the film plane. Selected samples have been annealed in vacuum at temperatures of 300 and 350 °C for times between 20 and 120 min, under a static magnetic field of 100 Oe. DC hysteresis loops have been measured with an alternating gradient force magnetometer (AGFM) along the direction of the field applied during annealing and orthogonally to it. Samples with a thickness of 4 nm display lower coercive fields with respect to the 30 nm thick ones. Longer annealing times affect the development of a harder magnetic phase more oriented off the film plane. The field applied during annealing induces a moderate magnetic anisotropy only on 30 nm thick films.  相似文献

Nd–Fe–B hard magnetic thin films were deposited on a combined Cr/Ta buffer layer on heated MgO(1 0 0) substrates by pulsed laser deposition. The effect of composition on phase formation, morphology and magnetic properties was investigated. For a quantification of phase formation, hysteresis measurements along the hard axis are used. Optimum phase formation is obtained at a Nd/Fe ratio around 0.3. For this Nd content an excellent magnetic texture and a coercivity up to 1 T can be obtained; however, remanence is reduced and the films have a granular microstructure with high roughness. Also a certain B surplus is of benefit. However, with a too-high B or Nd surplus phase formation is more difficult.  相似文献

Superlattices of [001]fcc Co/Pd with varying Co thicknesses from one to eight atomic layers per modulation period were epitaxially grown on NaCl by vapour deposition in UHV. Transmission electron diffraction indicates lattice coherence between the Co and the Pd layers for Co thicknesses up to six atomic layers. If deposited at a substrate temperatureT s=50°C, only the superlattices containing Ci-monolayers show perpendicular magnetization. By raisingT s to 200°C, the perpendicular anisotropy for Co monolayers is increased, and is also observed for Co bilayers. We suggest that this is due tolayer smoothening, which increases Néel's interface anisotropy. For more than 6 atomic layers of Co a loss of coherence is observed atT s=50°C, accompanied by a structure transformation to hcp Co with a (0001)Co(111)Pd orientation.Non-epitaxial polycrystalline [111]-multilayers have a different anisotropy versus thickness behaviour. For such multilayers the range of Co thicknesses giving perpendicular magnetization is extended from 8 Å up to 12 Å atT s=200°C. The different behaviour of the single crystal [001] films is caused by a strong volume contribution to the anisotropy, which favours in-plane magnetization, opposing the perpendicular interface anisotropy. This easy-plane term is attributed to magneto-elastic anisotropy due to stretching of the Co layers, via a positive magnetostriction.  相似文献

The influence of shearing on the magnetic properties and domain structure of 0.5 mm thick non-oriented electrical steel was studied. In the region from 1 to 1.4 mm from the sheared edge, a striped domain pattern that indicated the existence of elastic strain was observed. From the degradation tendency of flux density with respect to shearing width, the width of the degraded region near the edge increased as the magnetic field decreased. These results suggested that the change in the flux density at high magnetic fields over 300 A/m were mainly dependent on the characteristics of the edge vicinity where the domain pattern was influenced by shearing.  相似文献

We present experimental results on the structural and magnetic properties of series of Fe thin films evaporated onto Si(1 1 1), Si(1 0 0) and glass substrates. The Fe thickness, t, ranges from 6 to110 nm. X-ray diffraction (XRD) and atomic force microscopy (AFM) have been used to study the structure and surface morphology of these films. The magnetic properties were investigated by means of the Brillouin light scattering (BLS) and magnetic force microscopy (MFM) techniques. The Fe films grow with (1 1 0) texture; as t increases, this (1 1 0) texture becomes weaker for Fe/Si, while for Fe/glass, the texture changes from (1 1 0) to (2 1 1). Grains are larger in Fe/Si than in Fe/glass. The effective magnetization, 4πMeff, inferred from BLS was found to be lower than the 4πMS bulk value. Stress induced anisotropy might be in part responsible for this difference. MFM images reveal stripe domain structure for the 110 nm thick Fe/Si(1 0 0) only.  相似文献
