The structure of silver cyanide has been investigated by solid-state multinuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy. Carbon-13 and nitrogen-15 NMR spectra of magic-angle-spinning (MAS) and stationary powder samples of isotopically enriched Ag(13)CN, Ag(13)C(15)N, and AgC(15)N have been acquired at the external applied magnetic field strengths 4.7, 7.05, and 9.4 T. Axially symmetric carbon and nitrogen chemical shift (CS) tensors provide evidence for linearity of the polymeric (-Ag-CN-)(n)() chains. A two-site model is required to successfully simulate the (13)C MAS NMR line shape, which is dominated by indirect nuclear spin-spin coupling between (109/107)Ag and (13)C nuclei. In combination with relativistic zeroth-order regular approximation density functional theory (ZORA-DFT) calculations on model AgCN fragments, the (13)C MAS NMR results show that 30 +/- 10% of the silver sites are disordered, that is, either -NC-Ag-CN- or -CN-Ag-NC-, and 70 +/- 10% of the silver sites are ordered, that is, -NC-Ag-NC-. Effective dipolar coupling data extracted from (13)C NMR spectra of stationary samples allow an upper limit of 1.194 A to be placed on the carbon-nitrogen internuclear distance. After incorporation of the effects of anisotropic indirect nuclear spin-spin coupling and motional averaging on the NMR-derived distance, a corrected value of r(CN) = 1.16 +/- 0.03 A is obtained. This work provides an example of the type of information which may be obtained from solid-state NMR studies of disordered materials and how such information may complement that available from diffraction studies.  相似文献

Recent recommendations for environmentally sound use of liquid animal manure often include injection of slurry into soil. Two of the most important undesired side effects, ammonia (NH(3)) volatilisation and odour emissions, are usually significantly reduced by slurry injection. On the other hand, because of the higher amount of nitrogen (N) remaining in soil, the risk of nitrate (NO(3)(-)) leaching and nitrous oxide (N(2)O) emissions is increased. Thus, the reduction of local effects caused by NH(3) deposition, e.g. N enrichment and soil acidification, may be at the cost of large-scale effects such as ozone depletion and global warming as a result of emitted N(2)O. In this context, nitrification inhibitors can contribute significantly to a reduction in NO(3)(-) leaching and N(2)O production. A field experiment was carried out at IGER, North Wyke, which aimed to evaluate the effect of the new nitrification inhibitor 3,4-dimethylpyrazole phosphate (DMPP/ENTEC). For this experiment, (15)N enriched dairy slurry was used and the isotopic label in soil N as well as in N(2)O were studied. After slurry injection into the grassland soil in August 2000, the major emissions of N(2)O occurred during the first ten days. As expected, high N(2)O emission rates and (15)N content of the emissions were concentrated on the slurry injection slots, showing a steep decrease towards the untreated centre-point between slurry injection slots. The nitrification inhibitor DMPP proved to be very efficient in reducing N(2)O emissions. At a rate of 2 kg DMPP ha(-1), the total amount of N(2)O emitted was reduced by 32%, when compared with slurry injection without DMPP. The isotopic label of the emitted N(2)O showed that during the 22-day experimental period, emissions from the slurry N pool were strongly reduced by DMPP from 0.93 kg N(2)O-N ha(-1) (-DMPP) to 0.50 kg N(2)O-N ha(-1) (+DMPP), while only a minor effect on emissions from the soil N pool was observed (0.69 to 0.60 kg N(2)O-N ha(-1); -DMPP, +DMPP, respectively).  相似文献

The rate and depth of cattle dung incorporation into moorland soil may be an important factor influencing plant community dynamics through its effects on soil nutrient availability. This study traces the incorporation of (15)N-labelled dung into a moorland soil under two vegetation types in Dartmoor National Park, UK. Cores of treated and control soil 10 cm deep were collected at 2, 4, 8 and 16 week intervals and divided into 2 cm depth increments. Soil samples were freeze-dried, ground and analysed for atom% (15)N and %N content using continuous-flow isotope-ratio mass spectrometry. The contribution of dung N to the soil N pool was estimated by changes in atom% (15)N of the soil. The incorporation of dung dry matter into the soil was also calculated. The labile component of the dung N was incorporated deeper and more rapidly into soil under grass than under heather vegetation. The implications of these processes for the dynamics of upland plant communities are considered in relation to the ability of plants to compete for nutrients.  相似文献

The chemical processes developed in the $^{15}$ N-isotope separation plant are very complex and many details are not yet known in totality. Accurate models for such isotope separation plants offer an invaluable insight towards optimizing the production and establishing an adequate control action. A model of such an isotope plant is presented in the paper. The results are validated by simulation, based on a lot of experiments. The model is then used to evaluate and establish the necessary conditions for a maximum production for an existing pilot plant. For protection purposes, the experimental data used in this paper have been scaled.  相似文献

Since the nitrogens of nucleosides and nucleotides play an important role in the molecular recognition of these compounds, (15)N NMR became a method of choice in this field. Fully (15)N-labeled adenine, required in the latter studies, was obtained in four synthetic steps, in a good yield. Likewise, ((15)N(5))-2-hexylthioether-adenine and ((15)N(5))-8-Br-adenine were obtained in five synthetic steps from the relatively inexpensive (15)N sources: (15)N-NH(4)Cl, (15)N-NH(4)OH, (15)N-NaNO(2). Full (15)N labeling of these adenine prototypes enabled to obtain high-resolution (15)N NMR spectra of these bases at 60.8 MHz. Furthermore, the spectra suggested the existence of the N3-H species in the tautomeric mixtures of these compounds in solution, in addition to the well-reported N9-H (major) and N7-H (minor) tautomers. These observations were also supported by quantum mechanical calculations of the tautomeric equilibria in the gas phase and in solution of the above-mentioned adenine compounds. The gas-phase tautomeric equilibria were estimated using density functional theory and second-order perturbation theory methods. Solvent effects were included by means of both continuum and discrete solvation models. The observation of the existence of the N3-H tautomer has a clear impact on the possible H-bonding patterns of these adenine prototypes and on their molecular recognition by various biological macromolecules. The above(15)N-labeled analogues are expected to find use as (15)N NMR probes for numerous biochemical studies.  相似文献

Synthesis of 1-methyl-2-fluoro-4,5-dicyanoimidazole was done by halogen exchange between 1-methyl-2-bromo-4,5-dicyanoimidazole and potassium fluoride. Halogen exchange between 1-methyl-2-bromo-4,5-dicyanoimidazole and lithium chloride in N-methylpyrrolidinone at 150 degrees C yielded 1-methyl-2-chloro-4,5-dicyanoimidazole, and additional heating to 210 degrees C resulted in the demethylation to yield 2-chloro-4,5-dicyanoimidazole. Thermolyses of the 2-halo-4,5-dicyanoimidazole derivatives (F, Cl) and 1-iodo-2-halo-4,5-dicyanoimidazole derivatives (Cl, Br, I) between 100 and 290 degrees C were found to yield Tris(imidazo)[1,2-a:1,2-c:1,2-e]-1,3,5-triazine-2,3,5,6,8,9-hexacarbonitrile, or HTT, with (C(5)N(4))(3) composition. HTT has been characterized and purified and the crystal structure obtained. Thermolysis of HTT at 490-500 degrees C gives a material with C/N = 1.020. The thermal properties of HTT and its decomposition products show thermal stability to 350 degrees C.  相似文献

Utilization of long-range (1)H--(15)N heteronuclear chemical shift correlation has continually grown in importance since the first applications were reported in 1995. More recently, indirect covariance NMR methods have been introduced followed by the development of unsymmetrical indirect covariance processing methods. The latter technique has been shown to allow the calculation of hyphenated 2D NMR data matrices from more readily acquired nonhyphenated 2D NMR spectra. We recently reported the use of unsymmetrical indirect covariance processing to combine (1)H--(13)C GHSQC and (1)H--(15)N GHMBC long-range spectra to yield a (13)C--(15)N HSQC-HMBC chemical shift correlation spectrum that could not be acquired in a reasonable period of time without resorting to (15)N-labeled molecules. We now report the unsymmetrical indirect covariance processing of (1)H--(13)C GHMBC and (1)H--(15)N IMPEACH spectra to afford a (13)C--(15)N HMBC-IMPEACH spectrum that has the potential to span as many as six to eight bonds. Correlations for carbon resonances long-range coupled to a protonated carbon in the (1)H--(13)C HMBC spectrum are transferred via the long-range (1)H--(15)N coupling pathway in the (1)H--(15)N IMPEACH spectrum to afford a much broader range of correlation possibilities in the (13)C--(15)N HMBC-IMPEACH correlation spectrum. The indole alkaloid vincamine is used as a model compound to illustrate the application of the method.  相似文献

(R,S)-serine-1-13C was incubated in a culture of Escherichiacoli cells to produce (S)-trytophan-1-13C. Bromoacetyl bromide-2-13C was converted to bromoacetanilide and cyclization of the anilide, followed by reduction and dehydrogenation furnished indole-3-13C. Indole-15N was synthesized by known sequences. These 13C and 15N isotomers of indole were converted by commercially available, lyophilized E. coli to furnish (S)-tryptophan-γ-13C and (S)-tryptophan-indole-15N, respectively.  相似文献

A new method for detecting hydrogen bonds in the solid state is presented. Using two-dimensional NMR correlation experiments, it is shown that a hydrogen-bond mediated J coupling can be observed in a powder under magic-angle spinning conditions, even though the J coupling is 2 orders of magnitude smaller than the dominant anisotropic interactions encountered in solid-state NMR. Specifically, the observation of a pair of peaks in a two-dimensional 15N-15N solid-state INADEQUATE experiment due to two nitrogens that have no covalent connectivity is attributed to the presence of a J coupling across a linking hydrogen bond.  相似文献

In this paper, several approaches which allow the investigation of mixtures of polymorphs, employing modern solid-state NMR (SS NMR) spectroscopy are reported. A convenient methodology for characterization of the hydrogen bonding and molecular conformation of a polymorphic sample by means of one-dimensional and two-dimensional, 13C and 15N NMR experiments as well as CSA tensor analysis and theoretical calculations is presented. Two-dimensional heteronuclear SS NMR allowed definition of the polymorphic domain of N-benzoyl-L-phenylalanine (N-Bz-Phe). The graphical method of Herzfeld and Berger was used to measure the 13C and 15N spinning sideband intensities which allowed the calculation of NMR parameters for labeled centers of N-Bz-Phe. The experimental data were compared with computed results obtained by means of the DFT hybrid method with B3PW91 functional and 6-311++G** basis set.  相似文献

(1)H relaxation dispersion of decalin and glycerol solutions of nitroxide radicals, 4-oxo-TEMPO-d(16)-(15)N and 4-oxo-TEMPO-d(16)-(14)N was measured in the frequency range of 10 kHz-20 MHz (for (1)H) using STELAR Field Cycling spectrometer. The purpose of the studies is to reveal how the spin dynamics of the free electron of the nitroxide radical affects the proton spin relaxation of the solvent molecules, depending on dynamical properties of the solvent. Combining the results for both solvents, the range of translational diffusion coefficients, 10(-9)-10(-11) m(2)∕s, was covered (these values refer to the relative diffusion of the solvent and solute molecules). The data were analyzed in terms of relaxation formulas including the isotropic part of the electron spin - nitrogen spin hyperfine coupling (for the case of (14)N and (15)N) and therefore valid for an arbitrary magnetic field. The influence of the hyperfine coupling on (1)H relaxation of solvent molecules depending on frequency and time-scale of the translational dynamics was discussed in detail. Special attention was given to the effect of isotope substitution ((14)N∕(15)N). In parallel, the influence of rotational dynamics on the inter-molecular (radical - solvent) electron spin - proton spin dipole-dipole coupling (which is the relaxation mechanism of solvent protons) was investigated. The rotational dynamics is of importance as the interacting spins are not placed in the molecular centers. It was demonstrated that the role of the isotropic hyperfine coupling increases for slower dynamics, but it is of importance already in the fast motion range (10(-9)m(2)∕s). The isotope effects is small, however clearly visible; the (1)H relaxation rate for the case of (15)N is larger (in the range of lower frequencies) than for (14)N. It was shown that when the diffusion coefficient decreases below 5 × 10(-11) m(2)∕s electron spin relaxation becomes of importance and its role becomes progressively more significant when the dynamics slows done. As far as the influence of the rotational dynamics is concerned, it was show that this process is of importance not only in the range of higher frequencies (like for diamagnetic solutions) but also at low and intermediate frequencies.  相似文献

New evidence, obtained using a robust method for measuring the delta(15)N of NO(3)(-)-N in soil, is consistent with denitrification being the major determinant in the vertical distribution of NO(3)(-)-delta(15)N in soil profiles. Oxidative dehydrogenation of 2-bromo-4-methylaniline with manganese(iv) oxide leads to the formation of (E)-1,2-bis(2-bromo-4-methylphenyl)diazene (1). Polynitrogen receptors such as bis-histidine peptides possess strong ability to bind metals, which play much important roles in medicinal, bioinorganic, bioorganic, biomimetic and supramolecular chemistry. In order to investigate the interaction of these hosts with a variety of neutral, cationic and anionic guests, several techniques, for example, NMR,potentiometric tirations and monocrystal X-ray diffraction have been employed. Among them NMR is a powerful technique for unraveling the structure of polynitrogen receptors as long as they are in solution where the rapid tumbling of molecules averages out the anisotropies such as chemical shift and dipole-dipole interactions. General 1H NMR approach has been widely used for the study of host-guest interaction, but it is difficult for the accurate measurement in complexes structures, particularly metal complexes structures in which how the polynitrogen receptors bind metal, and which nitrogen binds metal and so on.  相似文献
