NORMAL COORDINATE TREATMENT OF COMPLEXES OF LANTHANIDE NITRATES WITH CROWN ETHER

In this paper, by using point mass model, the normal coordinate lanalysis calculations of La(15-C-5) (NO_3~-)_3 and La (18-C-6) (NO_3~-)_3 are performed to give theoretical results in agreement with frequencies and intensities of infrared and Raman bands. In the calculations, the same force constants with respect to the two molecules are adopted and some internal coordinates which are less important are neglected. Furthermore, the properties of coordination bonds, approximation calculation method and other related problems are discussed.     

STUDIES ON COMPLEXES OF RARE EARTHS WITH CROWN ETHERS(Ⅳ)SYNTHESIS AND CHARACTERIZATION OF THE COMPLEXES OF RARE EARTH NITRATES WITH 4''''-BROMO-5''''-NITROBENZO-15-CROWN-5

Six new solid complexes of macrocyclic polyether ligand 4′-bromo-5′-nitrobenzo-15-crown-5(L)withUivalent rare earth nitrates having composition of RE(NO_3)_3·L·mCH_3CN·nH_2O(RE=L_a--Nd,m=n=0,RE=Sm,Bu,m=0.1,n=1,4)have been synthesized in acetonitrile or acetone.All the isolated complexes have been char-acterized by elementary analysis,IR and UV spectra,differential thermal and thermogravimetric analysis,X-ray powderdiffraction analysis,molar conductance and measurementa of solubility in some general solventa.It shows thatcoordination number of the rare earth cation in the complexes of La,Ce,Pr and Nd nitrate is eleven.     

THE ELECTROCHEMICAL PREPARATION OF POLYPHENOL WITH CONDUCTIBILITY

Polyphenol film deposited on platinum foil can continuously grow with time during the electrolysis of a phenolsolution consisting of 0. 1 mol L~(-1) phenol, 3 mol L~(-1) NaOH and 0.5 mol L~(-1) Na_2SO_4, as has been proved by the methods ofsweep potential, constant potential and constant current, and visible spectra during the electrolysis of phenol. A polyphenolfilm with thickness of 0.11 mm was obtained by the electrolysis of phenol at a constant potential of 0.70 V (versus Ag/AClwith saturated KCl solution). Polyphenol film is inactive and stable in 2 mol L~(-1) H_2SO_4 solution, neutral solution and3 mol L~(-1) NaOH solution and in the potential range between -0.95 and 1.35 V. The usable potential range is dependent onthe pH value. Polyphenol has an ESR signal with a g factor of 2.0049. The conductivity of polyphenol is 1.2×10~(-4) S cm~(-1). Inthe solution of polyphenol dissolved in DMSO, the mobility of polyphenol anions is 8×10~(-9) m~2 s~(-1) V~(-1) at 20℃.

STUDIES ON COMPLEXES OF RARE EARTHS WITH CROWN ETHERS(V)-SYNTHESIS AND CHARACTERIZATION OF THE COMPLEXES OF RARE EARTH NITRATES WITH 2,2''''-DINITRO-4,5,4'''',5''''-BIS-(15-CROWN-5)-DIBENZO DISULFIDE

Three new solid complexes of macrocyclic polyether ligand 2, 2'-dinitro-4, 5, 4', 5'bis-(15-crown-5)-dihenzo disulfide(L) with trivalent rare earth nitrates having composition of RE(NO_3)_3·L·6H_2O(RE=Ce, Pr, Nd) have been synthesized in acetonitrile. All the isolated complexes have beencharacterized by elementary analysis, IR and UV spectra, differential thermal and thermogravimetricanalysis, X-ray powder diffraction analysis, molar conductance and measurements of solubility insome general solvents.     

FABRICATION OF THE TIP FOR ELECTROCHEMICAL SCANNING TUNNELING MICROSCOPY

A nover technique for the fabrication of the tip for e tectrochemical scanning tunneting microscopy(ECSTM)is presented. The curvature radius of the fabricated tip is smatter than 1 μM. Faradaic leakage current is tess than 0.1nA in the sotution of 1 mol/L NaCl. The atomic image of highty oriented pyrotytic graphite (HOPG)has been taken using the prepared tip.

CRYSTAL AND MOLECULAR STRUCTURE OF COMPLEX OF 1,2-CYCLOHEXYL-12-CROWN-4 WITH EUROPIUM NITRATE

<正> C12H22O4Eu(NO3)3,Mr=568. 28,monoclinic, P21/n,a=7. 980(1) ,6= 17.226(2), c=14. 460(3) A,B=100.15(1) , V= 1956. 6A3,Z=4,Dc=1.929 g/cm3,F(000) = 1128. The structure was sieved by direct methods and Fourier synthesis, and refined by block-diagonal and full matrix least-squares method to a final R of 0. 055 for 2568 independent reflections of I>3a(I). The ten donor oxygen atoms in the crowm ether and NO3 groups are coordinated to central metal ion Eu(III) forming an irregular coordination polyhedron. The Eu(III) ion is out of the ether oxygen plane and the three nitrate groups are bidentately coordinated to the Eu (III) on the opposite side of the polyether. The average bond lengths of Eu-O(NO3) and Eu-O(ether) are 2. 491A and 2. 558A ,respectively.

Arylthiocyanates could be synthesized by reaction of arylsulfonyl chlorides with cuprous cyanide with yields ranging from 42-80％.     

CALCULATION METHOD OF EFFECTIVENESS FACTOR FOR NON-LINEAR COMPLEX REACTION SYSTEM

A calculation procedure of the effectiveness factor for very complex multiple reaction system is developed by using the concept of continuous lumping. The calculation procedure proposed in this paper enables not only the reaction-diffusion equations to be solved as an initial value problem, but also the number of the nonlinear algebraic equation which have to be solved in each iterative step to be reduced considerably.

A MODIFIED METHOD FOR THE PREPARATION OF GOETHITE

Synthetic goethite(α-FeOOH) was prepared in the laboratory using a modified version of Brauer's method.The process of steam-crystallization was prolonged and impurities were removed by dialysis.The products have been characterised by Surface Area Analyser and Scanning Electron Microscope, and proved to have larger Specific Surface Area than that in literature.

CATALYTIC BEHAVIOR OF A SILICA-SUPPORTED POLYTITAZANE-PLATINUM COMPLEX FOR THE HYDROGENATION OF PHENOL

A new kind of inorganic polymer, viz. silica-supported polytitazane (Ti-N), and itsplatinum complex (Ti-N-Pt) were prepared. Cyclohexanone can be obtained in a maximumyield of about 62.2% in the hydrogenation of phenol over Ti-N-Pt at room temperatureunder atmospheric pressure. The effects of mole ratio of N/Pt in the complex, concentrationof the catalyst and reaction temperature on the catalytic activity and selectivity have beenstudied. The complex can be reused several times without loss in its catalytic activity.
