In this paper, a method is presented to calculate the plane electro–elastic fields in piezoelectric materials with multiple cracks. The cracks may be distributed randomly in locations, orientations and sizes. In the method, each crack is treated as a continuous distributed dislocations with the density function to be determined according to the conditions of external loads and crack surfaces. Some numerical examples are given to show the interacting effect among multiple cracks.  相似文献

The solutions of axisymmetric Volterra type climb and glide edge dislocations are obtained in a layer by means of the Hankel transforms. Utilizing the same procedure, Green’s function solution is obtained for a layer under self-equilibration normal ring traction. The distributed dislocation technique is used to construct integral equations for a system of co-axial annular cracks where the layer is under axisymmetric normal loads. These equations are solved numerically to obtain dislocation density on the cracks surfaces. The results are employed to determine stress intensity factors for annular and penny-shaped cracks and the interaction between two co-axial penny-shaped cracks is studied. Moreover, the stress intensity factors of the interacting cracks are determined such that they can be further used in conjunction with strain energy density (SED) failure criterion to obtain the possible direction of crack initiation that may not be apparent under mixed mode conditions.  相似文献

In this paper, the interactions of multiple parallel symmetric and permeable finite length cracks in a piezoelectric material plane subjected to anti-plane shear stress loading were studied by the Schmidt method. The problem was formulated through Fourier transform into dual integral equations, in which the unknown variables are the jumps of displacements across the crack surfaces. To solve the dual integral equations, the jumps of displacements across the crack surfaces were directly expanded as a series of Jacobi polynomials. Finally, the relation between the electric field and the stress field near the crack tips was obtained. The results show that the stress and the electric displacement intensity factors at the crack tips depend on the lengths and spacing of the cracks. It is also revealed that the crack shielding effect presents in piezoelectric materials.  相似文献

The dynamic behaviors of several moving cracks in a functionally graded piezoelectric (FGP) strip subjected to anti-plane mechanical loading and in-plane electrical loading are investigated. For the first time, the distributed dislocation technique is used to construct the integral equations for FGP materials, in which the unknown variables are the dislocation densities. With the dislocation densities, the field intensity factors are determined. Moreover, the effects of the speed of the crack propagation on the field intensity factors are studied. Several examples are solved, and the numerical results for the stress intensity factor and the electric displacement intensity factor are presented graphically finally.  相似文献

This paper investigates the dynamic behaviour of a piezoelectric laminate containing multiple interfacial collinear cracks subjected to steady-state electro-mechanical loads. Both the permeable and impermeable boundary conditions are examined and discussed. Based on the use of integral transform techniques, the problem is reduced to a set of singular integral equations, which can be solved using Chebyshev polynomial expansions. Numerical results are provided to show the effect of the geometry of interacting collinear cracks, the applied electric fields, the electric boundary conditions along the crack faces and the loading frequency on the resulting dynamic stress intensity and electric displacement intensity factors.  相似文献

Studied is the problem of a periodic array of cracks in a functionally graded piezoelectric strip bonded to a homogeneous piezoelectric material. The properties of the functionally graded piezoelectric strip, such as elastic modulus, piezoelectric constant and dielectric constant, are assumed in exponential forms and vary along the crack direction. The crack surface condition is assumed to be electrically impermeable or permeable. Integral transform and dislocation density functions are employed to reduce the problem to the solution of a system of singular integral equations. The effects of the periodic crack spacing, material constants and the geometry parameters on the stress intensity factor, the energy release ratio and the energy density factor are studied.  相似文献

A model of a turbulent axisymmetric thermal rising in a medium whose density varies with height is proposed. An analytic solution describing the self-similar stage of ascent of the thermal is constructed. The problem of determining the electro-elastic fields around arbitrarily oriented planar cracks in an infinite piezoelectric space is considered. The cracks which are acted upon by a transient load are either electrically impermeable or permeable. A semi-analytic method based on the theory of exponential Fourier transformation is proposed for solving the problem in the Laplace transform domain. The Laplace transforms of the jumps in the displacements and electric potential across opposite crack faces are determined by solving a system of hypersingular integral equations. Once these displacement and electric potential jumps are obtained, the displacements and electric potential and other physical quantities of interest, such as the crack tip stress and electric displacement intensity factors, can be computed with the help of a suitable algorithm for inverting Laplace transforms. The stress and electric displacement intensity factors are computed for some specific cases of the problem.  相似文献

This paper presents a theoretical study of a piezoelectric annular cylinder under axisymmteric electromechanical loading. The piezoelectric material is assumed to be transversely isotropic and the general solutions of the governing equations are obtained in terms of a Fourier–Bessel series containing Bessel functions of the first and second kind. The boundary-value problems for vertical pressure and an electric charge loading applied to the ends of an annular cylinder are solved by expanding the applied loading in terms of a Fourier–Bessel series. Selected numerical results for the electroelastic field of an annular cylinder are presented for different aspect ratios of a cylinder and material properties.  相似文献

The simplified three-parameter formulation of a piezoelectric medium proposed by Gao et al. [Gao, H.J., Zhang, T.Y., Tong, P., 1997. Local and global energy release rates for an electrically yielded crack in a piezoelectric ceramic. J. Mech. Phys. Solids 45, 491–510] is extended to a four-parameter modified model in order to point out the features of a steadily propagating Griffith crack. It is assumed that the crack is electro-elastically free and the medium is subjected to a generalized electro-mechanical loading applied at infinity. The complete solution is provided under impermeable and permeable boundary conditions and results are presented in order to show the main dynamical features.  相似文献

Based on the general solution of three-dimensional problems in piezoelectric medium, with the method of Green's functins[2], axisymmetric boundary-value problems are discussed. The purpose of this research is for analyzing the effective on mechanics and electricity of the piezoelectric ceramics caused by voids and inclusions. The displacement, traction and electric Green's functions corresponding to circular ring loads acting in the interior of a piezoelectric ceramic are obtained. A cylindrical coordinate system is employed and Hankel transform are applied with respect to radial coordinates. Explicit solutions for Green's functions are presented in terms of infinite integrals of Lipshitz-Hankel type. By solving a traction boundary-value problem, the solution scheme is illustrated. 采用有限元方法,分析了压电薄板板边不同长度导电裂纹尖端的力电场分布规律,发现导电裂纹尖端的应力场和电场强度存在明显的集中和奇异现象,集中和奇异的程度与裂纹长度有关。而且,在裂纹延长线上分别存在两点,这里的应力和电场对裂纹长度不太敏感,总等于无裂纹时薄板的均匀应力和均匀电场强度;同时,还研究了导电裂纹尖端的应力强度因子和电场强度因子对裂纹长度的依赖关系,发现在线性本构的前提下,导电裂纹尖端的应力强度因子与电场强度因子之间具有近似的线性关系。  相似文献

Under the permeable electric boundary condition, the problem of two collinear anti-plane shear cracks lying at the mid-plane of a piezoelectric strip is investigated. By using the Fourier transform, the associated problem is reduced to a singular integral equation. Solving the resulting equation analytically, the electro-elastic field intensity factors and energy release rates at the inner and outer crack tips can be determined in explicit form. Numerical results for PZT-5H piezoelectric ceramic are also presented graphically. The results reveal that the effect of electric field on crack growth in piezoelectric materials is dependent on applied elastic displacement.  相似文献

In the present paper we consider the application of the method of integral relations in the first approximation to the calculation of such a flow. Summary Piezoelectric material containing an inhomogeneity with different electroelastic properties is considered. The coupled electroelastic fields within the inclusion satisfy a system of integral equations solved in a closed form in the case of an ellipsoidal inclusion. The solution is utilized to find the concentration of the electroelastic fields around an inhomogeneity, and to derive the expression for the electric enthalpy of the electroelastic medium with an ellipsoidal inclusion that is relevant for various applications. Explicit closed-form expressions are found for the electroelastic fields within a spheroidal inclusion embedded in the transversely isotropic matrix. Results are specialized for a cylinder, a flat rigid disk and a crack. For a penny-shaped crack, the quantities entering the crack propagation criterion are found explicitly. The problem of an arbitrary number of arbitrarily oriented straight cracks in an infinitely long piezoelectric strip is considered here. The cracks are acted by suitably prescribed internal tractions and are assumed to be either electrically impermeable or permeable. A Green's function which satisfies the conditions on the parallel edges of the strip is derived using a Fourier transform technique and applied to formulate the electroelastic crack problem in terms of a system of hypersingular integral equations. Once the hypersingular integral equations are solved, quantities of practical interest, such as the crack tip stress and electric displacement intensity factors, can be easily computed.
