This paper is devoted to study a problem of reflection and refraction of quasi-longitudinal waves under initial stresses at an interface of two anisotropic piezoelectric media with different properties. One of the two media is aluminum nitride, which is considered the down piezoelectric medium and the above medium is chosen as PZT-5H ceramics. The two piezoelectric media welded are assumed to be anisotropic of a type of a transversely isotropic crystals (hexagonal crystal structure, class 6 mm). The equations of motion and constitutive relations for the piezoelectric media have been written. Suitable boundary conditions are used to obtain the reflection and refraction coefficients. For an incidence of quasi-longitudinal plane waves, four independent-type amplitude ratios of elastic displacement components for plane waves, called quasi-longitudinal (qP) and quasi-shear vertical (qSV) waves, are shown to exist. Also, it is observed that there exist four dependent amplitude ratios of electric potential, which are proportional to the previous four types. Finally, it is found that the coefficients of reflection and refraction are functions of angle of incidence, elastic constants, piezoelectric potential parameters and the initial stresses. Numerical computations and the results obtained are depicted graphically. In the end, a particular case has been reduced from the present study. This investigation is considered important because the initial stresses in such practical problems are inevitable and may result in frequency shift, a change in the velocity of surface waves and controlling the selectivity of a filter compensation of the devices.  相似文献

The reflection and transmission of plane waves from a fluid-piezothermoelastic solid interface are studied. The expressions for amplitude ratios and energy ratios corresponding to reflected waves and transmitted waves are derived analytically. The piezo-thermoelastic solid half-space is assumed to have 6mm type symmetry and assumed to be loaded with water. The effects of angle of the incidence, the frequency, the specific heat, the relaxation time, and the thermal conductivity on the reflected and transmitted energy ratios are studied numerically for a particular model of cadmium selenide (CdSe) and water. Some special cases are also studied.  相似文献

The reflection and transmission coefficients (at normal incidence) for plane parallel slabs consisting of N inhomogeneous and exactly identical parallel layers are expressed in terms of the corresponding coefficients for a single layer. The analysis is effected by two different methods, one of which stems from the so called invariant imbedding viewpoint while the other relies on a more conventional matrix argument.  相似文献

The paper deals with the phenomena of reflection and refraction of plane elastic waves at a plane interface between two semi-infinite elastic solid media in contact, when both the media are initially stressed. It has been shown analytically that both reflected and refracted P and SV waves depend on initial stresses present in the media. The numerical values of reflection and refraction coefficients for different initial stresses and the angle of incidence have been calculated by computer and the results are given in the form of graphs. Many results are found in the paper which are not seen in initially stress-free media.  相似文献

We examine the reflection and transmission phenomena of quasi-longitudinal plane(QP) waves in an AlN-ZnO laminated composite structure. The structure is designed under the influence of the initial stresses in which one carrier piezoelectric semiconductor(PSC) half-space is in welded contact with another PSC half-space.The secular equations in the transversely isotropic PSC material are derived from the general dynamic equation, taking the initial stresses into consideration. It is shown that the incident quasi-longitudinal wave(QP-mode) at the interface generates four types of reflected and transmitted waves, namely, QP wave, quasi-transverse(QSV) wave,electric-acoustic(EA) wave, and carrier plane(CP) wave. The algebraic equations are obtained by imposing the boundary conditions on the common interface of the laminated structure. Reflection and transmission coefficients of waves are obtained by implementing Cramer's rule. Profound impacts of the initial stresses and exterior electric biasing field on the reflection and transmission coefficients of waves are investigated and presented graphically.  相似文献

Problems for transient line and point load sources in a multilayered elastic medium may be treated by the method of generalized ray. In this method an integral representation of the Laplace-transformed multiply reflected and/or transmitted cylindrical/spherical wave, known as a ray integral, is constructed by linear superposition of the Laplace-transformed plane waves. The inverse Laplace transform of the ray integral can be found in closed form by applying the Cagniard method. For problems in the Cartesian coordinates for line load sources emitting cylindrical waves consistent with either the plane strain conditions or the antiplane strain conditions and for problems in the cylindrical coordinates for axisymmetric and asymmetric point load sources emanating spherical waves, it is well known that: (1) the system of incident, reflected, and transmitted cylindrical/spherical waves at an interface separating two dissimilar media can be divided into two independent of each other, if both present, parts: the coupled P and SV waves, and the SH waves, (2) the reflected and transmitted ray integrals representing the Laplace-transformed reflected and transmitted cylindrical/spherical waves can be constructed by linear superposition of the Laplace-transformed plane P and SV waves, or the plane SH waves, and (3) the potential reflection and transmission coefficients for the plane P, SV, and S H waves are basic to such a superposition. In the present paper we treat the asymmetric three-dimensional problem in the Cartesian coordinates for an arbitrary oriented point force radiating the spherical P and S waves. For this problem all four functions representing the displacement potentials are coupled in the boundary conditions at the interface, the total wave motion at the interface is composed of the coupled spherical P and S waves, and the Laplace-transformed reflected and transmitted spherical waves are therefore constructed by linear superposition of the three-dimensional coupled plane P and S waves. Since such a superposition requires the knowledge of the potential reflection and transmission coefficients for the three-dimensional coupled plane P and S waves, the purpose of the present paper is to derive systematically these coefficient formulas.  相似文献

The problem of reflection and transmission due to longitudinal and transverse waves incident obliquely at a plane interface between uniform elastic solid half-space and fractional order thermoelastic solid half-space has been studied. It is found that the amplitude ratios of various reflected and refracted waves are functions of angle of incidence and frequency of incident wave and are influenced by the fractional order thermoelastic properties of media. The expressions of amplitude ratios and energy ratios have been computed numerically for a particular model. The variation of amplitude and energy ratios with angle of incidence is shown graphically. The conservation of energy at the interface is verified.  相似文献

The present paper concentrates on the study of reflection and refraction characteristics of plane waves at an imperfectly bonded interface of two orthotropic generalized thermoelastic rotating half-spaces with different elastic and thermal properties. In this type of problem of orthotropic thermoelastic rotating medium, there are three types of plane waves quasi longitudinal (QL-) wave, quasi thermal (T-mode) wave and quasi transverse (QT-) wave, whose velocities depend on the angle of incidence, imperfection and rotation. The amplitude ratios of reflected waves to that of incident one in each case have been derived. Some special cases of boundaries, i.e. normal stiffness, transverse stiffness, thermal contact conductance, slip boundary and welded contact boundary have been deduced from an imperfect one. Effect of rotation on the amplitude ratios of different reflected and refracted waves with respect to incident QL-wave at different boundaries have been studied graphically. It is observed that thermal properties, imperfect boundary and rotation have significant effect on the propagation of waves.  相似文献

We use generalized functionally invariant solutions [1] of the equations of motion to obtain and analytically study solutions of the plane problem of reflection and refraction of plane waves on the interface of two anisotropic media with four elastic constants depending on the angles of incidence of primary waves for various relations between the elastic constants of the contacting media. For the primary waves, we find the ranges of incidence angles for which real and complex secondary waves are excited. We study all possible combinations of the distribution of phase velocities and reflection and refraction angles in detail and obtain conditions characterizing the directions of the energy flux vectors for the primary and secondary waves depending on the incidence angles of the primary waves for different relations between the elastic constants of the contacting media, which satisfy the necessary and sufficient conditions for the elastic energy form to be positive definite.  相似文献

The present study deals with reflection and transmission of plane waves between two different fluid-saturated porous half-spaces, where longitudinal and transversal waves impinge obliquely onto the interface. Amplitude ratios of various reflected and transmitted waves are obtained. Variations of amplitude ratios with the angle of incidence are depicted graphically. A particular case of reflection at the free surface of the fluid-saturated porous half-spaces is discussed.  相似文献

We show the existence of certain new waves that can propagate near an interface between two half-spaces of different piezoelectric ceramics, where the interface is modeled by a membrane with the surface/interface elasticity [1]. The current configuration can be reduced into a number of well-known results as special cases, such as Love wave, Bleustein and Gulyaev wave. Together with our previous work for the imperfect interface [2], a full range of consideration of the interface affecting the anti-plane waves is now completed.  相似文献

The reflection and refraction pattern of elastic waves at a corrugated interface between two triclinic half-spaces is discussed. The incident wave is taken to be the cause of the interface disturbance and the reflected and refracted waves are effects. This leads to the causality requirement that the reflected and refracted waves must propagate away from the interface. Closed form expressions of reflection and transmission coefficients are derived using Rayleigh’s method of approximation. The formulae of reflection and transmission coefficients are derived in closed form for the first-order approximation of the corrugation. The analytical expressions of all the three phase velocities of qP, qSV and qSH waves have been derived. The variation of reflection and refraction coefficients with the angle of incidence and also with the corrugation parameter is shown. In this paper we have developed Graphical User Interface (GUI) Software in MATLAB which shows the variation of reflection and refraction coefficients with respect to incident angle and corrugation parameter. This software can be generalized to show the variation of reflection and refraction coefficients. Numerical computations are performed for a scientific model and the results obtained are shown graphically.  相似文献

The mode conversions which occur during the reflection and transmission of seismic waves at the boundaries of porous media are analysed. It is shown how the energy partitioned to the various modes depends on the incident angle and on the physical properties of the fluid and solid components on each side of the boundary. The boundary conditions used here predict the occurrence of bright and dark spots as are currently observed in seismic studies of heavy oil reservoirs. They also give rise to a class of pseudo interface waves which propagate in a direction almost parallel to the surface and which become true interface waves in the limiting case where the porous media degenerate to elastic solids. When thermomechanical coupling is an important attenaution mechanism in one of the media it is also observed to have a substantial effect on the mode conversions which occur at the boundary.  相似文献

The effects of initial stress on the reflection and transmission waves at the interface between two piezoelectric half spaces are studied in this paper. First, the secular equations in the traverse isotropic piezoelectric half space are derived from the general dynamic equation with initial stress taken into consideration. Then, the interface conditions that displacement, stress, electric potential, and electric displacement are continuous across interface are required to be satisfied by three sets of coupled waves, namely, quasi-longitudinal wave, quasi-transverse wave and the electric–acoustic wave. The algebraic equations resulting from the interface conditions are solved to obtain the amplitude ratio of various waves and furthermore the energy reflection and transmission coefficients of various waves. The numerical results are shown graphically and the effects of initial stress are discussed.  相似文献

In this work, two-phase parallel fiber-reinforced periodic piezoelectric composites are considered wherein the constituents exhibit transverse isotropy and the cells have different configurations. Mechanical imperfect contact at the interface of the piezoelectric composites is studied via linear spring model. The statement of the problem for two-phase piezoelectric composites with mechanical imperfect contact is given. The local problems are formulated by means of the asymptotic homogenization method, and their solutions are found using complex variable theory. Analytical formulae are obtained for the effective properties of the composites with spring imperfect type of contact and different rhombic cells. Using the concept of a representative volume element (RVE), a finite element model is created, which combines the angular distribution of fibers and imperfect contact conditions (spring type) between the phases. Periodic boundary conditions are applied to the RVE, so that effective material properties can be derived. The fibers are distributed in such a way that the microstructure is characterized by a rhombic cell. The presented numerical homogenization technique is validated by comparing results with theoretical approach reported in the literature. Some studies of particular cases, numerical examples, and comparisons between the two aforementioned methods with other theoretical results illustrate that the model is efficient for the analysis of composites with presence of rhombic cells and the aforementioned imperfect contact.  相似文献

The problem of reflection and refraction of waves at the interface of an elastic solid and microstretch thermoelastic solid with microtemperatures has been investigated. It is shown that due to incidence of P-wave or SV-wave at the interface, the waves are reflected and refracted. The amplitude ratios of these various reflected and refracted waves have been computed numerically, and graphical representation of their variations is made with the angle of incidence. Effect of microrotation on these amplitude ratios has been shown graphically. Some particular cases of interest have also been discussed.  相似文献

The reflection and transmission of the thermo-elastic coupled waves at an interface of two different couple stress elastic solids are studied in this paper. Based on the Green-Lindsay theory, the governing equations and the constitutive equations are derived. Different from the classic elastic solid, the interface conditions include the surface couple, the rotation angle, the heat flux and the temperature change. The interface conditions are used to obtain the linear algebraic equations set from which the amplitude ratios of reflection and transmission waves to the incident wave can be determined. Then, the normal energy flux conservation is used to validate the numerical results. At last, the influences of two characteristic relaxation times and the five kinds of thermally and micromechanically interface conditions are discussed based on the numerical results. It is found that the thermal wave effects affect only the longitudinal wave while the couple stress effects affect only the transverse waves. The thermo-elastic coupling makes the longitudinal wave and the thermal wave not only dispersive but also attenuated.  相似文献

This work is concerned with the wave propagation and their reflection and transmission from a plane interface between two different electro-microelastic solid half-spaces in perfect contact. It is found that there exist five basic waves in an infinite electro-microelastic solid, namely an independent longitudinal micro-rotational wave, two sets of coupled longitudinal waves influenced by the electric effect, and two sets of coupled transverse waves. The existence of the two sets of coupled longitudinal waves is new. In the absence of microstretch and electric effects, these two coupled longitudinal waves reduce to a longitudinal displacement wave of micropolar elasticity. Amplitude and energy ratios of various reflected and transmitted waves are presented when (i) a set of coupled longitudinal wave is made incident and (ii) a set of coupled transverse wave is made incident. Numerical computations have been performed for a particular model and the variations of amplitude and energy ratios are obtained against the angle of incidence. The results obtained are depicted graphically. It has been verified that the sum of energy ratios is equal to unity at the interface and the amplitude ratios of reflected and transmitted waves depend upon the angle of incidence, frequency and elastic properties of the media. Results of some earlier workers have also been reduced from the present formulation.  相似文献
